May 28th 2011, we reserved a Ski boat and Ponton boat from 4pm to 8pm (4 hours) for a total of $579.15 ($75/hr for Ski Boat and $60/hr for Ponton Boat plus tax of $39.15). At the time when they charge my credit card, they did not inform me that the Ski boat is broken and the Ponton boat has not come back yet until we reached the dock. After negotiated with the manager, Mike Nitz, he agreed to change our start time from 4pm to the time when we get into water and change our reservation to two Waverunners (Jet Ski) and one Ponton with no additional charges. Of course, he agreed to credit back all of our waiting time. Waited until 5:40pm, after some training on the dock, we finally got into our boats and started our "fun" trip.
About 30 mins ~ 1hr later, we failed to restart the Ponton boat and one of the Jet Ski at the same time in the mid of Lake Travis. Then we called Aquaholics for help, however they could not instruct us to restart both boats either. About 30 mins after that, Police came and saved us. Then Aquaholics staffs arrived without any apologizes. During the time of lost power on both boats, especially with a 6 month old baby on board, we experienced frighten, hopeless, and crying. This is not a fun trip at all!
After we came back to dock, the manager, Mike Nitz, said he will call me the next day (May 29th, 2011) to discusses about it. But he did not. After two days of waiting, the day after (May 30th, 2011) at 18:18 I called him. He said these two boats are functional and there are not any issues with them. This is not true! They only thing could happen is that he fixed it!!
This is not a consumer friendly company at all. They advertised as "We Have The Best Boat Rental Rates, Newest Equipment and Best Service in Austin!!", but they are not! Their watercrafts are old, at least the ones rented to us. They refused to take their own responsibilities.
I think our settlements are reasonable, just refund all of our money.
