I don’t know how they have me on file or how they say. I did my taxes with them when I was incarcerated.

They say I got a return of 2000 something and I owe them 700 and something when I never even associated with them in anywhere at all and they harass me every day. It’s been like three years and they haven’t stopped harassing me. I have lawyers on the go already. I’ve sent them emails. I’ve written them letters. I’ve called them. I’ve done every possible form of asked them to stop harassing me and they won’t.

Can’t wait to sue harassment. My lawyer says it could be more than just harassment

I filed with CTR back in mid-December, 2023 and, although I did receive a tax refund from CTR of over $1,100, this company has since become an absolute atrocity to deal with ever since!

The problem I have been having was not to do with the tax refund process itself, but with the Billing department, who still owes me a refund for an overpayment that I made by mistake via e-transfer back in December, over 4 months ago. Despite opting to have the service fee debited automatically from my bank account via pre-authorized debit (PAD), I received an system-generated e-mail from CTR stating "Your Service Fee is overdue" so I ended up sending an e-transfer of the service fee to this company. But lo-and-behold, the very next day I noticed that the same fee WAS automatically debited from my account despite the notice! So I immediately contacted the Billing dep't to advise them of what happened. The agent I spoke with acknowledged their mistake and stated that they would have this corrected. She also stated that their support team would also make some changes in order to ensure that customers who have opted for PAD are not sent a so-called "Payment Overdue" e-mail unless the account is NSF (which did not occur in my case).

But one other thing that the agent informed me was that it normally takes between 60-90 days in order to receive a payment reversal from the Billing dep't as per some sort of policy, which caught me completely off-guard as no one would expect that kind of wait time for a simple correction--left alone of just a single e-transfer! I then voiced my concerns to the agent and stated to her that the double-payment was partly due to an issue with their notification system. The agent agreed with the issue and stated she would have this correction expedited back in early-January of this year. However, to this day, I STILL have not received the refund correction and so now an extra fee that does not belong to this company is still outstanding and sitting in their pocket!

Worse yet, it has been approximately 120 DAYS since I brought all this to their attention! As a result, I was in touch with Billing last week about this and the agent I spoke with said "I will send this over to my manager and have this expedited as it's been over 90 days" but so far, no response. So I called them back about 1 hour ago and spoke with the same agent, who stated she was aware of this but still has not heard back from the manager!

So I then told the agent that I will be opening a dispute with my bank if I do not see money back in my account by this-coming Friday.

But overall as of this-past Monday and due to the enormous amount of stress this issue has caused, CTR is no longer authorized to handle my taxes as I have now lost ALL my trust in this company! I have since contacted the CRA to have CTR removed and blocked from all authorization and have just signed on with a more popular and reputable company who also charges no greater than 15% in fees. So far, the new agent that I have spoken to seemed highly-determined to help me with my taxes to the best of her abilities.

Not an honest company at all.. very tricky and will make you believe its gov.
It is unbelievable that anyone would take money from people in such hard times as this. ***. Speak to a real government agent and use CRA phone numbers if youre having trouble.

The mislead the CRA and got me a refund but the refund was clawed back due to their mistake.
They knew they misled the government and me but only care about their bottom line.
Terrible experience;

Average tax place charge 3-15%, these people charge 33%, they have ComplaintsBoard.com acreditting on their site, but they link to nothing, says they have be in business for a year, yes they just change business name and redo their seedy scam like agenda under a new name, now they promote 8% fee CERB applications, makes me sick

They claim I applied for Covid-19 relief with Canada Tax Reviews when I did not. Now they are asking for the fees with respect to the money that was never deposited from the CRA. I checked this out, the form for this application is way to simple and can be completed with information almost anyone can find on social media.

Canada Tax Reviews pushed through my CERB even though i was very clear I had left my job and moved in January. When I was finally able to talk to the CRA they determined I was not elligible for CERB so I paid hundreds of dollars in fees for nothing. Don't trust them, they will lie to the CRA, bill you and then tell you you're on your own.

did nothing but tell me to contact the cra myself so after 3 months I got a cheque with no help from them. but then I get an invoice? no services rendered no payment. oh and your 20 emails a day and 5 to 10 ph calls are considered ***. you have been notified.

I have paid my Bill in full. I have an email saying I owe zero and a copy of my invoice stamped PAID. I am getting calls every single day saying I owe money. I am fed up. I explained on the phone and am told I owe more. There are no other invoices. There is zero owing. If this continues, I will involve my lawyer. Perhaps you have mixed me up with someone else? Please fix this. Thank you.

They called my 17 year old son , spent 10 min on phone with him, and had him sign an email contract , with his SIN # , claiming he's "eligible for 900$ every two weeks CRB"

I called them back and told them to send an email cancelling any such contract and am reporting them to CRA and police.

Literally praying on children. There are no words to describe that sort of "company" .

Good for the most part. I was only a bit surprised when I was told that I would have to pay a $104 dollars afterwards. I thought that the communication on the charge of services could have been made clear on the initial phone call. I luckily had the funds deposited into my account a couple of days later and was able to make the payment. It's to bad they couldn't just deduct the fee and give me the remainder in the process.

Wow what to say about these guys...This company will not be around in a year or two, or under another name.*** you never get the same person, its always someone new calling off of their cell's or blocked number. Some calls out of Ottawa, some in Toronto, and some from all over the place. I said I would come by their office, but nothing. They wanted me to connect them with friends and family ***. ***.

I have used this company for several months to obtain my CRB payments. I have never been even a day late in paying their fees. With that in mind, I tried contacting them about the feasibility of an extension of the government payment. Three weeks of emails (I sent approximately 10) and the same amount of time calling them on the telephone. Sometimes I could leave a message and sometimes not. I simply want to warn others that this may happen to them. I find it unacceptable and would no recommend them to anyone.

they have sent over 30 emails saying this is your final notice yet I always get another one again and again... ***. it's been 5 months of there hopeless threats of wanting to take me to collection... well I'm telling them all kinds of rude stuff to them and they just take it... NO REAL COMPANY would put up with it.. I hope they get caught

They conned me into thinking I needed them if I ever got audited over my CERB money , they are saying a verbal communication is all they need, I called a lawyer and no it doesn't stand nor does it stand for an AB residents, I also spoke to CRA and they CANNOT help you it you were to be audited, ***! And like others they are threatening to ruin my credit over 336$

! They are claiming that I owe them a few thousand dollars! Because I did not feel comfortable letting someone I don't know looking into my CRA account, I decided to scrap the idea of even being involved with them. Yet, they sent me an email claiming I owe them a few thousand dollars because I removed their authorization to access my CRA account. When I spoke to them and asked how do I owe this amount, apparently they said that was what they found as a refund that CRA owed me & that because I removed them as an authorized rep, I owe them the money now instead for the work they went through to find this refund for me! Well, my next question for them was how did they come up with this amount when, after speaking to CRA agent and being told that 'No One' other than myself has access my account & that there was no refund reported. I asked them to send me proof that this amount was indeed owed to me, but they refused to send me any proof, and kept threatening me that if I didn't regrant them access to my CRA account that they were going to wreck my credit etc, etc if I didn't pay them. I have proof that CRA does NOT owe me money, so how they can come after me for this amount is beyond my guess! ***! Bad mistake falling for their dumb Ad!

They advertise themselves in a way where a client thinks this is what they have to go through.
They never told me that I can apply for this myself and not go through them they made it sound like this is what I had to do and for some people that don't know better they figure this is how it works many peoples get played over things like this and this is what happened to me. I was not given a choice.
I was led to believe that this is the way to go about applying for CRB benefits.
I would never have done it this way if I would've known I could've applied myself for this and they call themselves (Canada Tax Review) that is unbelievable I am completely beside myself right now having to pay all this money without knowing I had a choice this is false advertisement...

I am very mad right now I did not know that I could have Applied for these benefits myself other than having them do this for me.
I thought this was the way to go because it's called (Canada Tax Review) this is false advertisement.
They are making it look as though this is the only way to go I was never told that I could be applying for this for myself I thought this was the route and the only route that a person could go...
I hope and pray you can get my money back I really need help I have not received help for four months now since the beginning of June these are the worst times I've been going through in my whole life by having *** done against me really really hurts I have lost faith in the system. We are talking thousands of dollars here

I don't know if you can help me get my money back but this is very frustrating and very insulting...
And he speaks so fast on the phone I have to make them repeat constantly so this is another way of tricking people when they do this my God I've never seen this before I am so frustrated right now I cannot describe the feeling I am feeling right now because it's not nice

Canada Tax Review keeps calling, texting, and emailing me every day of the week except Sunday. They say I owe them $30.66, but I don't owe them anything. They keep bothering me even though I told them to stop contacting me. Update Oct 23*** They keep leaving messages on my voicemail even though I blocked them. They know they're blocked, but they keep bothering me. I already told them to stop, so I want them to leave me alone. Thanks.

CTR left me some voicemails saying they gonna send me emails to ask if they can check my tax credits. But I didn't get any email from them and I didn't answer their calls. I already told them last year that I don't need their help for a few years to make it worth it. So, I didn't give them permission to do anything. But then, I got an email from CRA saying they started an inquiry and it's gonna take a long time. I went to my CRA account and took CTR off as my agent because they did stuff without asking me. Now, they're saying they gonna charge me for their help, but I didn't ask for it or say they could do it.

I got some payments from Canada Tax Reviews Inc on Feb 08. They helped me with filing for the cerb emergency fund. They sent me an invoice for $400 for their service fee. I sent them $200 for that invoice. They contacted me about the remaining balance. Then, on Feb 25, I sent them $301.64, as shown on my bank statement. They sent me another invoice for $100, but I haven't received any deposit. They also couldn't find my previous payment, even though I sent them screenshots and emails. If I got the resent payment, my balance should be $100. But I haven't received it yet. They won't help me file claims for cerb unless I pay them. I'm not feeling well, and I had to go without food last weekend. Yesterday, I had to walk from Spryfield to downtown Halifax for a doctor's appointment because I couldn't pay for a bus.

My daughter got a phone number from *** last year. Canada Tax Reviews called her looking for someone named ***. She told them many times that they have the wrong number, but they keep calling her every day. She is a high school student. She gave me the phone, and I told them that the contact information they have for this person is wrong. They still call. I tried to contact them through their website, but their automated system doesn't receive calls, which is frustrating and weird. I'm telling the ComplaintsBoard.com about this so others know. She wants the calls to stop because they know the number has changed. Thanks for listening.

So, like, I got an email from these guys in May saying they could help me get my CERB payments. They said they'd take 8% of what I got and filed an application for me with CRA. Then they kept calling me to do a conference call with a CRA agent, but they said I didn't make the $5000 requirement, which I totally did working in Vancouver. Then they didn't contact me for 4 months until they said my number popped up in their computers and I still hadn't gotten any payments. They didn't help me at all and I had to send in proof myself. It's now July and these people haven't helped me at all.

I used Canada Tax Reviews Inc to check my taxes. They gave me a refund on May 25. But because my wife left me and our four girls, I couldn't pay the full amount I owed at the time. We made a payment plan, and I made the first payment on Dec 4, 2021, as agreed. I made every payment on time, and as of Jul 06, I paid off my debt in full. But then I got an email from them saying I had an outstanding account and that they had been trying to reach me since I got my refund. They said I hadn't made any effort to settle the balance, and they reported my unpaid balance to *** which affected my credit score with R9. But that's not true because I already made a payment plan and paid everything off. I checked my credit report and found false reporting. The report says I haven't made any payments and was reported twice. I tried to work with them for many months, but it didn't work out. I need help because this isn't fair.

This place messed up my CERB benefits and made me miss out on a lot of money. They gave me bad advice and made me think I could get benefits since September , but it turns out they never even sent my application to the CRA. Now I'm screwed and won't get the money I'm entitled to. This company shouldn't be allowed to use logos that make it seem like they're part of the government. I'm trying to figure out how to get my money back, but it's not looking good.

I got an email from Canada Tax Reviews Inc. offering a free consultation for a government debt relief program. I went to their website and saw they offer a 10 year tax review and read some testimonials saying they were the best. I decided to try it out since they don't get paid until you get paid. I was late in filing my 2021 taxes and informed them that I wasn't ready to file yet. They insisted on filing on my behalf and now expect me to pay them $865. They are harassing me by phone and email, threatening to garnish my wages and put a lien on my assets. I regret giving them access to my file and don't trust them at all.

Canada Tax review keeps messaging me saying I owe them money for a refund they did for me. They never gave me a refund but they tell me I own them 450$ it is now on my CRA hurting my credit! I

they call repeatedly asking for someone who is not at this address. I asked them a week ago not to call and they assured me my number had been deleted from the file. They have continued calling since including at 9:12 this Sunday morning. they promised they had deleted the number. Then I got another call at 9:57! Again they said they would delete the number and assured me they had done it. Then they tried to convince me to pay them a fee for filling in covid relief forms that I can fill in for free. then they called again at 3:09 today. This company preys on people who can't complete covid forms on their own and they make it seem like they are government. They are not.

On Dec XX XXXX I filled out the forms on the web site at Canada Tax Reviews thinking it was part or a branch of the CRA to get pre-qualify for the CERB program. The next day I was contacted by CTR and was told that the fee was for them to aply in my behalf to for the weeks of getting the CERB payments at the time I agreed for them to do that. The next week I phone CTR and was talking to my case manager and she told me that I had to aply for 2 of the weeks because they can't aply them self so she made a 3 way call to CRA and I had to talk to the CRA agent myself. At this time the CRA agent told me a 3rd party can not aply for someone and its illegal as the CTR manager was on the phone listening to what the CRA agent was saying. I do have the recording on my phone from the conversation. The next week I got a bill for 3 application and I gave CTR a call asking why was I billed for the 2 witch I had to apply myself and I don't have a problem pay for the service I got from them not for the 2 witch I had to take 1 hr of my time to apply. They refused to take the funds for the one they wanted full amount. I have tryed to settle with them now over 4 times and we are not getting anywhere. I inadvertently found my way onto the Canada Tax Reviews CERB application website, and filled out an application for CERB. The site is designed to look as though it is a government page. I received a follow-up phone call from Canada Tax Reviews, and to their credit they did state up-front that they are not a part of the CRA. I asked them not to submit my application, and proceeded to fill out the CERB application on the CRA site. I called Canada Tax Reviews back, told them that I had submitted my application for CERB on my own, and asked them to completely delete any information about me on their computer files, stating that I was concerned that the amount of information they had collected from me would be enough for any who gained access to it to access government and finacial institiution files and "steal my identity". I received *** email as a follow up, however it did not acknowledge my request. I called the Canada Tax Reviews office and asked that the author of that email telephone me back. Having heard nothing back, I sent the response ***, but have not heard anything back. I continue to receive emails from Canada Tax Reviews, indicating to me that they have not deleted the information that they have on file about me. I have indicated to the CRA that Canada Tax Reviews does not represent me in the CERB application, or in any other matter now or in the future. I would ask that you somehow convince Canada Tax Reviews to deleted all of the information about me that they have on file, and to contact me to assure me somehow that this has taken place.
