Failure to install after deposit
Contracted with Ricky Smith, owner of Alabama Custom Counter Tops, for installation of new kitchen and bathroom counter tops in August 2009 with a promised installation date of two to three weeks. He has failed to show for two installation dates, does not answer phone calls, and has yet to return $2, 500 deposit. Based on this business' performance I would HIGHLY recommend you seek other vendors for reliable quotes and installation. A friend who booked his services at the same time is experiencing exactly the same problem. It appears that legal steps must be taken to recover our deposits.

Ricky Smith: aka Alabama custom countertops, is believed to be a flim flam artist. He deposited a 50% payment check, for kitchen counter materials and install, on 8/5/2009. The install was 2-3 weeks "guaranteed". It is now 12/28/2010..I had the job completed by Home Depot and a warrant was issued for Mr. Smith through the Escambia Co. Sherriffe, Florida, 12/2009. He took my money and "fled". He was arrested on 9/1/2010 and his trial is pending and part of Public Records under felony.
