Reynolds Tobacco / Newport cigs
Bought 6 packs of Newport Black 100's, noticed they seemed a bit stale-tasting, looked up date coding, found that these cigs are almost 3 years old! Bought at Walgreen's, I informed Walgreen's manager, who said they would take them off the shelf and notify their distributor, corporate offices, etc. I replied, "What about me?" They said they don't give refunds or exchanges for cigarettes. They are so old they're not even "fire-safe;" they caused burns on my bathroom floor, carpet, and table, because we are so used to them going out when you put them down in an ashtray. These didn't, took pictures, and approached Walgreen's, who has done nothing! Called Reynold's Tobacco, who now owns the Newport brand, and they did agree to reimburse me for the cost of the cigarettes, not the damage.
