VW The Glen / 2019 vw tiguan 2.0 l comfortline tdi
I recently acquired a new VW Tiguan 2, 0 L Comfortline TDI.
I took delivery on 21/12/2018.
The vehicle has only done 4400 km.
My left headlight appears to be taking in water and stays misted.
Also the vehicle has a lot of wind noise on the left side.
Today I took the vehicle in to a dealer and was contacted after lunch to be told that the technician can hear the wind noise and needs to strip the door panel.
I was told that they would need to order a new headlight.
For this to happen the vehicle had to stay overnight.
I said that I had no problem with this but would require a courtesy vehicle as I have to attend a Board Meeting tomorrow.
I was later contacted and told that I can come and fetch the vehicle.
When I got there I was introduced to someone they called the product foreman.
He told me that I was not hearing wind noise but turbulence outside the vehicle.
He could not explain the fact that it was only on the left.
I was also told that the factory allows certain tolerances for the headlight and the misting was normal.
When I asked for something in writing, I was told that they were not allowed to hand out product technical information.
I paid almost R 700 000 for this this vehicle, and am very unhappy.
Nobody at the service department appeared to know the foreman's last name as he apparently only started work there on Monday, 04/02/2019.
Is this the norm?
