JustAnswer no answer received, payment deducted from bank

On the 25th September I had a problem with my webcam on my Toshiba laptap while I was talking to my daughter on skype. The laptop was only bought 3 weeks earlier. I went onto the Toshiba helpline website and was transferred to the Justanswer website. I registered my request for help and explained what I was looking for help with; I had a reply to say an expert was waiting to answer my request and was asked to pay £17 by way of credit or debit card and it would be deducted if the answer I received was helpful, as I needed to know how to put my webcam right I agreed. When I came to pay I had a red note saying that my payment had not been accepted and try again, which I did, this time they asked for £28, again when I came to pay I had a red note saying that my payment had not been accepted and try again, I decided not to try again and closed down the internet. Today 4th October, I received my bank statement and lo and behold Justanswer have deducted my 2 payments of £17 and £28 but I have not received an answer from them nor did I go through any authorisation of my payment. Toshiba should be ashamed of themselves for redirecting their helpline website to Just answer. I now have to find out how I can receive a refund of the £55 - that will be fun - Toshiba complaints here I come. The only expertise Justanswer has is taking money!

I’m sorry for any confusion. I think you may have misunderstood our site’s deposit system.

You chose the option to prepay a fully-refundable deposit when you initially asked your question. This deposit allows you to view your Expert's answers and continue corresponding with them. The Expert isn't paid with your deposit until you click a green accept button on one of their answers. We only ask that you do this if you are satisfied with their answer.

If you don't get an answer, JustAnswer(r) will issue a refund of your deposit at your request. If you do receive an answer and it is unsatisfactory, you can ask the Expert for more help, ask for a new Expert, or you can simply ask for a refund of your deposit.

JustAnswer I would suggest not using this company that uses unfair prac. with your credit card

I received medical advise from this company with my agreement to pay $25.00. They placed a charge on my credit card for$50.00. I have sent them three e-mails about this over charge and ask them to refund my account for the $25.00. I have given them 24 hours to respond to my complaint. They will not contact me about this over charge. I have also been in contact with my credit card company. It takes many weeks to complete this process. I would suggest not using this company that uses unfair prac. with your credit card.

They wouldn't provide me with what they advertised unless I paid for an additional service. I was only able to get a complete refund after I contacted the Better Business Bureau. Stay away from this company!

1. Refund the £42, for which I received no assistance whatsoever.

3. Confirm, that the above 2 requests have been actioned, in writing, asap.

JustAnswer never agreed to monthly credit card invoicing

Wanted to research strange smell from my new Chevy Traverse. Just Answer indicated "unlimited" inquiries for only $18.00. Well I only wanted the one question answered. Did get one a week or two later. But it was worthless. Worse yet, I noticed monthly credit card invoicing of $18 per month after 3 months had gone by. I dare you to find a phone number on their website. But here it is [protected]. I was transferred to someone in India who promised me a refund of this month's credit card billing. I'll wait and see. No where did they ever reveal that if you signed up that you'd be automatically billed monthly. 1) Misleading use of Credit card 2.) Useless answers.

JustAnswer continualy wihdrawing subscription fees even after I notified them to stop

I had recently purchased a uniden home phone with 2 additional wireless handsets. One of the hand sets did not work when I tried to register it to the base. The retailer could not help and I could not return it to them because I was informed that although I had purchased it only two weeks earlier it was my responsibility to return it to the manufacturer for repair. I thought that I could get an answer from the JUSTANSWER site. I read the terms and conditions and it briefly stated that they had experts in every category that could answer any question. My understanding was that you asked a question and it would be directed to an expert in that field. This expert charged a fee for providing an answer. An answer would be provided within a set period and if your answer was not satisfactory, then you did not have to pay the fee. After about a week I still had not received an answer to my question. I was surprised to note on my bank statement for that month I was charged a fee of $18.00. I re-entered the site and told them about my situation. I also filled in the unsubscribe link on the web address page. I have tried twice since and they are still withdrawing a monthly fee of $18.00. I cannot get them to cease withdrawing money from my account even when I told them that the service provided was terrible.

JustAnswer excessive charges

Having contacted this company to diagnose a dishwasher problem they finally stated I needed a new electronic control panel after having me try several suggested remedies. Today I received my credit card bill with $85.00 charges. The part cost $106.52 which I installed myself. Bottom line: They charge you for each suggested remedy even if they don't solve your problem. This is a rip-off as I could have had a technician come to my home and install the part for less money. DO NOT use this service unless you don't mind having excessive charges with no positive results. NEVER AGAIN!

JustAnswer my dog

Dear Sir/ Madam:
I would want to ask your help about this internet site justanswer.com Today, I searched for expert/veterinarians because I wanted to ask a question to a vet re: my dog 's diarrhea. Internet site displayed just answer.com and they said they have legal experts who are veterinarians.They told me to give my question but before they can answer my question, I have to make a deposit and pay thru my credit card. They asked for my credit card no. which i gave them.

They made charges to my credit card no. and they got all my information, which included my credit card no.. Inspite of the money i paid them thru my credit card, they never answered my question.

In the site was a photo of a chubby lady by the name of joan, holding a dog, who claims that she is a vet tech. she said she will answer the question but she never did. I need your help because I know this is a scam. They steal people's money thru credit cards and they stole my identity too. (IDENTITY THEFT)

PLEASE HELP ME AND PUNISH THIS PERSON/S.! There have been numerous complaints about this site! please lock them behind bars. They stole my identity and they fooled lots of people.
Please help us all. I told them that I will expose them to the media.!
I asked them for a refund but then they locked me out of site!please help!

JustAnswer don't even get a glimmer of an idea to use this web site for expert advice

Took my car to a dealership (Ford, Lincoln). They could not find the solution. Instead of taking the car to another dealership and spending more money I decided to ask an expert for advice on justanswer.com for $18. They say if you are not satisfied with the experts advice they will not charge you. They requested me to rate the experts advice. Guess what...I never received any advice from any expert. Insult to injury they charged me $18. Don't even get a glimmer of an idea to use this web site for expert advice, you will only get scammed just like I did.

You didn't get scammed... all you have to do is email info@justanswer.com to request a refund or go to this page:

When you ask your question you are notified that you are placing a deposit on the site which is refundable.

Perhaps you should learn to read before calling something a scam.

JustAnswer fake free trial

I landed on the website for a pet question. The site offered a free trial. Just ask a question. If you like the results to can continue with a monthly subscription or pay as you go. I decided if I liked the results I would go with the month subscription. I posted my question. Didn't get a response. Finally more than a day later received an email I could go find my answer. It wasn't an answer it was requesting more information from me. I never received an answer and asked that my free trial be ended immediately. They charged me for asking a lawyer a question and for a months subscription. I received neither and never wanted an answer from a lawyer.

This site is very slow (I waited 7 hours and still didn't get an answer and their agent on the phone didnt flinch or offer to get it answer just automatically refunded). I have had so many problems with this company: not getting responses to emails, rude experts, glitches in the website. I do not recommend the site.

I made an application to get an answer for a fault in the roxio vhs to dvd software my credit card was debited $46.00. I did not receive an answer and request a full refund.

nel mese di febbraio 2011 ho richiesto informazioni per un trasformatore di corrente per una stampante.non ho mai avuto risposta, anche se avevo pagato 15 euro con carta di credito.solo ora mi sono accorto che, invece, avete continuato a preleva re tutti i mesi 15 euro.io NON ho sottoscritto nessun abbonamento per cui richiedo la restituzione degli addebiti NON autorizzati e prelevati dal mio C/C. CERTO che si sia trattato di un errore contabile resto in attesa di una favorevole -per me- soluzione.distinti saluti.

JustAnswer they took money out of my account that I didn't authorize

I don't know how they got my credit card number or who they are. They only took $15 but it will really add up if they keep doing this. I never agreed to this billing. In fact I don't know who they are. I once did a 'Just Ask' about my dog, but I don't know this Just answer. I also used a different card for "Just Ask" and it was $15 and it was already taken out of my bank account months ago.

I called them once for advise about an Oldsmobil Regal year 1986. Why do they keep billing my Credit Card. I wish to cancel that useage of my card! Please how can I stop them? Doris

Call your credit card company and have them dispute the charge. It may be a computer error on the mechanics end or it could be a scam. You will have to provide dates and details so write everything down and have all your paperwork. You should not have to close your credit card down because of someone else's mistake.

Doble charge of aus $44.29 for the late advise how to open the lid of the washing machine.
Charge was for the "appliance [protected]", has been charged on 15/03/2011 and on 15/04/2011.
Please reverse payment of the second charge and stop with unauthorized charges.

JustAnswer fraud

Someone tried and succeeded at guessing my debit card number, used it on the justanswer.com web site. They charged $40. 00 to my bank account (Without the security pin on the back) . When i discovered the pending transaction that i did not make i called them right away. They said they would have someone call me back within 24hrs to take care of this. . . They never did. When i called them the next day and informed them they had not called back i got the same run around. The pending transaction is now posted (Four days later) and now i have to claim fraud on my account and go through a process that i would not have had to go through had i been talking to professionals. This justanswer.com web site clearly had no concern with the fact that they allowed a fraudulent transactions to pass through their hands. I am so disgusted

I do not believe it was intentional., I believe the site security problems. My bank cancelled my debit card within 15 hours of my using JustAnswer.com. There had been 2, 400.00 worth of fraud transactions. e.g. Newegg, Zagg in Salt Lake, Apl*Apple on-line store.
Let me qualify this, I have had the same debit card for years. I am an IT person. I cut and pasted my cc number in the justanswer site to pay them their $30.00, but did not use that card, I used paypal instead. I have not used this card for anything strange, ever. That was at 23:00 on 2/1/13. On 2/2/13, the card started getting hit with thousands of dollars in charges. Red flagged my bank and they cancelled the card. Hopefully they allow the transactions to go through and have a controlled delivery and but this pud spanker in federal lock-up for a decade or so.
As I mentioned, I do not think that juastanswer was a party to the fraud or the theft of the debit / credit card information, but I will be sending them a follow-up on my letterhead. Happy trials.
Their $30.00 answer was worth the money, and the guy I communicated with was as helpful as possible, but it was not worth $2, 400.00 :-) I would never use the justanswer again.

JustAnswer unauthourised money

I only just noticed in feb 2011, that money was taken out of my bank account. I got the bank to find out where my $30 was? They had looked and to my disbelief "justanswer *doctors had been taking amounts of $30 nearly every month since july 2010 as that is far as they could go back! I had to think for a while on who? This mob is? After a while I re-called something to with them (Only once) ! But to me I am really sure it was a lot longer than then. All I remember is seeing on the internet & I asked a question to a on-line doctor?. I cannot at all remember the question or even the response! Too this day I have never had contact with them in any way at all, by the site, by email, by nothing. But apparantly I gave them my bank/or card details? And I don't even remember if I did pay anything that one time/or if I did pay anything it would not of been $30! As there is no-way I could of afforded that!? This has caused me bad stress, lots of crying (Even in bank) & have been wanted this stopped! The credit card disputes where able to find them & details, & I was getting letters by the dozen from bank disputes! Which most time had to go down to bank and" ask what does this mean"? I asked the bank a few times to stop my account? But was told no! Cause they where trying to find them! So I lost more money just recently! Though I have a new card, its still has same info? I am a single mum, who is disabled & when stressed my pain triggers off! So I have been in constant pain, highly stressed & sick of crying (The bank even seen me break down not long ago) I was so confused just recently with all the amounts of paper work sent to me, & the bank contacted credit cards disputes & then I was told how to stop them from taking money out! But then yesterday got a letter from disputes and said nothing can be done, & no reinimbursed as apparently I agreed for them to take out money! I swear on my life I never did. I am going to fight this, anyway I can. Even if it means going on tv. Or was told to go through fedral police! I was told by bank to go into justanswer *doctors and cancel my ? Dealings with them! So I tried but there was know where you could go unless you login first? Yeah right! There was only a usa phone number, no address—nothing. I am happy though to see other people got caught in this too (Sorry not happy for you) but I mean it may be helpful to prove to bank that others have been ripped off too. Well got a Email after my Complaint by some one that works for Justanswer *Doctors and told me there going to give me all my money back, though as now have new bank card! I wrote back and told them they could not put into my bank as has been changed. And NO WAY giving new details, so asking for a cheque to be sent(though have not given address yet? Just now will wait to see what response i get! And told them if not happy, I was told i can go further and go for Compensation for the Stress as low come earner and sole parent, through a higher source than my bank! So will see what outcome will be. I am praying i get ALL my money back including bank disonour fee's from bank! And for the other complaints i read from the same problem i had from Justanswer *Doctors USA hope all works out for all of you too...Best of Luck!

On September 29 of this year 2012 at about 3:00 p.m. I went on line to ask the "doctor" a question. At first he (the doctor) told me that the area of my question just happened to be his expertise. He then wrote back asking for my e-mail address, saying that he would get back with me. It has been almost 48 hours and no reply. I want my money returned ASAP.

I had the same problem - they deducted $58 from my account for ten months
I phoned them up and they said they would reimburse me for this months payment. When I asked how about the other payments she said she would have to check and came back and said they would reimburse ALL. Which to my surprise they did!
So just phone and push them.

I am having the same problem, I logged on to their site and asked them a question, paid the $29.00 and they have been charging my Mother ever since. They are taking advantage of us and I'm not sure how to stop it. I called there 888# but it has been busy for quite some time. Next step is to call the credit card company. I think it stinks when you try these websites and then they take advantage of your information.

JustAnswer double billing. unauthorized use of my card

I paid $86. 52 which was not the agreed price for a real estate question on 9. 2. 11 which was withdrawn from my visa account. The answer was good and helped me take action needed but on 7. 3. 11 justanswer took another $86. 52 from my visa for the same question which means they charged me twice. The 2nd withdrawal was illegal as it was without my authorization. There is no phone contact number to ring and complain about this. But i want my funds return to my account now by justanswer

JustAnswer unauthorized deductions from my ckg acct

Went online to ask a vet a question about what to do about my dog eating Gorilla Glue. They gave me an answer and charged me $15.00. Then they asked me to pay the vet $18.00, if I wanted to. I said no since I just paid them the $15.00.. Since that time, on
Nov. 19, 2010, they have deducted $18.00 from me checking acct., on Nov. 11, 2010, on Dec. 21, 2010, on Jan. 19, 2011 and
on Feb. 22, 2011, for a total of $72.00.
I logged onto their website tonight March 19, 2011 and logged onto "My Account"(which I didn't know I had, until I logged on tonight).
I filled out the part asking if i wanted to continue the account, I checked the no box, and no, to wanting a subscription.
They had no place for me to contact them directly to talk to someone about this problem. That is why I am on this website.

JustAnswer Triple billing without permit

Since 2009 I have sent emails to try and cancel my registration with Justanswer. Even after my attempts to cancel, my account was billed (without my authority) $19 three times for a single technical advise on photocopier repairs which I didnt accept in the first place and I want a full refund. This group should be shut down permanently as they are costing me (and others) without good reason. I feel like my account is being held ransom here and since I cannot get through to them to date each quarterly I have to make sure there's enough in my account to keep it open just in case they pull another stunt on me when I'm not looking.
