JustAnswer non certified approval to charge.

On January 3rd. 2011, I accepted an answer to the only question I have asked, ref [protected], from Just answer mechanics and duly paid the charge of £11.98p. I have just received notification that my credit card has been charged for an item ref [protected], for the same amount. As I have not given consent for a charge to be made, considering I have not used the service again, how has the charge been made, without my authorization?, as this is illegal and therefore the charge must be repaid.

JustAnswer debited my account without my permission

Justanswer.com did not answer my question, and I did not authorize payment. They debited my card anyway. Now I have to try to get it back. This is no less than fraud and probably qualifys as theft. Do not give these people your card info thinking that you can withhold payment if you are not satisfied with your answer. I asked for specific information on how to check a control boards functions to make sure it was bad. I was told by their expert that he thought the board was bad and to change this board out. I already suspected the board and wanted some factory info to make sure. When I did not recieve the info requested I did not authorize payment. They took it anyway.

9-21-11 My Name is Barbara Sweet, and i want you two put the money back into my acc.at Community Bank, N.A. some time today or by Friday, and if to don't i will turn you in to the better business, you took out on the 9-13-11 and now 9-20-11 and i did not have money in my bank and my bank change me 32 .00 for that so now you own me 230.00 dollar and i need it back in my bank, i only get S.S. I don't think that is right that you take out money from anyone the rude, (so pleases put in back pleases).I need to pay my bills. the number that was takeing out was 7618558, Pleases do the right thing so i don't have to turn you in to Better business. JustAnswer bait & switch

As previously stated, Just Answer is your classic "bait and switch". If you read their site information, you are lead to believe that you can ask a question and you only have to pay if you are satisified with the answer you receive. That is not what happens at all. Once you foolishly give them your credit card information, you are going to pay NO MATTER WHAT. You will receive an answer from one of their so-called "experts". However, if you are not satisfied with the answer, they just keep referring you to other "experts" who give you other answers and this goes on forever until you finally give up and they take your money. No one even came close to answering my question about a digital camera problem I was having. I finally gave up and, sure enough, my credit card was charged even though at no time did I ever say I was satisfied with their answers. STAY AWAY from these snake oil salesmen.

They are scammers! Get the word out. And Google should not be endorsing ads and providing advertising services that lead users to sites that are pure scams. Shame on Google. It is all about money. Shame on you and Just Answer. Karma is a ### and will bite you in the ### when you least expect it and I hope it hurts like hell.

JustAnswer not as described & bait / switch

First bait & switch. You are allowed to ask a question and they show you which 'expert' will be answering; you have a chance to check their qualifications. Okay, so you give them a 'deposit' on your c.c. or paypal, then they are supposed to answer the question. If you are not satisfied with the answer, then you do not have to pay. Here's the switch, your question is then answered by a completely differernt 'expert' that you didn't select. And switch again - that 'deposit' you gave them, well, if you don't like the answer, they will KEEP your deposit, and you can ask another question, a different question, I suppose if you ask "Can I have my deposit back?" They would consider it a question, too. Anyway, my question was a pet/veterinarian type question and my expert was supposed to be a veterinarian. The switched out 'expert' answers that only a vet can answer your question. So, naturally, not satisfied I want my money back. Out of my $28.00 they want to refund [protected]@27.21, which is not a full refund. Anyway, since I used PayPal, it was eventually resolved, but just do not use JUSTANSWER.COM ever. And I don't care if they have one real live expert working for them, the remainder are not qualified.

When a customer is given that choice to pick an expert it is meaningless. The profiles will show random experts in the catagory you choose whether the expert is on line or not. In the catagory I was in, they still show guys that don't answer for them anymore, and didn't during the 4 years I was answering. My profile is down because I threatened a lawsuit. I didn't want them using my name and credientials to rip people off. Unlike a lot of people answering for them, My reputation and name are actually damagable by being connected to that site.
Don't get me wrong, it used to be a pretty good site. But the people who run it are so greedy that they are now even stealing from the experts. It is a site I would reccoment people avoid. Their "subscription" trick is intentional. The widow pops up just as you are clicking on another thing and most people never see it flash by.

Were you told that you needed a vet VISIT? Many veterinarians will indicate that a vet visit is required - meaning an in-person visit. You certainly could have said that you wanted an opinion from a vet, but I suspect that you might gotten that answer from one.
There is no guarantee of talking to a specific expert and JA does not indicate that you're going to get a specific expert.. You can request that you talk to a specific expert and most experts will work to get you in front of that person. Customers can force *any* expert out of the question at any time.
JA has many veterinarians on staff. I can tell you from experience many vets will tell you that a visit is required for specific situations and it's not a particular popular answer, but it's often the most correct answer in some cases.
If you don't accept the answer, your expert is not paid a dime. There is no minimum wage, no fee for doing research, no minimum compensation.
Yes, to get your deposit back, you need to request it from JustAnswer or file a chargeback. Experts have no control over refunds.

JustAnswer subscription (medical advise)

I stumbled on JustAnswer*Doctors late last year and tried to complain to and seek their advise on my case of Joint pains (Arthritis) which they did not answer to as I had to close their site due to long and slow response, unfortunately, I did not know that asking them the question had authomatically put me under subscription and I have been billed 4 times. I have paid twice now and the 3rd bill has been sent by Barclay card which I refused to pay as I did not subscribe to them and did not get my problem solved. Right now I am on holidays in Africa and I am still getting calls and bills from Barclaycard after speaking to them to stop payment to JustAnswer*Doctors. Please discontinue the subscription payment and refund the last 2 payments I made.

I was on this site and asked a question and got an answer and £11 .00 was taken from my account. I did not subscribe to nor needed to speak to any one again yet they have been taking £11.00 from my account May, June, July. This amounts to stealing and I want this to stop right now. I now know this is a scam, That Men and women who do this knowingly is a shame to the Profession they say they are from. JustAnswer charge on credit card

They made a $15 charge to my account and I remember no such a transaction. This is a scam from what I have read. The web reveals many such sites under the same name in differnt disciplines. I think they are expert at only one thing- online theft.

Initially I got into this site with a question concerning an electrical problem with a Ford Telstar sedan. The opening page stated that answers to questions would cost $40.00, this was no problem to me but although the information provided was useless to me I acepted the $40.00 as my responsibility. However I notice that every month since asking the question I have been billed $40.00 on the aniversary of the initial question. WHY. I want this stopped

JustAnswer poor advice

I contacted a company online called Just Answer to answer a question I had about my atv Their ad said quick answers to atv problems from an expert. I chated with a mechanic called RACETECH. One of the first things he said was that he answered my question and I should click accept to pay him. That was before I got an answer! I should have left right then but i wanted my atv fixed. The information he gave me was wrong. He never mentioned there was a clip I needed to remove and I almost ruined my axle. He asked me to pay him about three times and I did cuz i thought the information was right. That was before I checked it out better. I feel that he ripped me off.

I came on to post a complaint about just answer to. i asked for advice from Just Answer about crankshaft parts on my 900 thundercat and was given the wron answer. my dealer gave me the right info and said just anser info was wrong. $28 for wrong answer is a ripoff. How do I get my money back?" racetech also answered my questoin so i guess he is there only person maybe. glad I found this site.

JustAnswer refund not given

I had 2 short answers for a computer question which did not solve my problem and i did not authorise the payment yet £22 was taken out of my credit card account. I have tried several times to get it refunded and although it shows up on my justanswer account as money available for refund i can not get them to refund my account. It is impossible to contact them directly.

JustAnswer unauthorised billing

I paid £17 for an answer to my plumbing problem but now find I am being billed £17 per month for unlimited service which I definately didnt sign up for. S far thyey have drawn an additional £34 from my bank account. The only telephone number I can find is in the States, which is great if you are in the UK. I went back into the site using a different email address etc with the same problem and the sign up definately does not say that the fee will be recurring. This is definately an unlwaful scam, which is a shame because the advice that I received from the plumber in the UK was good. I have left two or three messages on the site contact section where they say that they will contact me within 24 hours but no contact. The money has been taken directly from my bank and I cannot easily claim back. If anyone knows how I can contact these scammers then I would be pleased to hear from you. Thanks

JustAnswer over charging

I asked for advise from this company and paid the required fee, that was in november 2010.I was billed again in december 2010 for the same service which I didn't require or ask for please advise, Brian.

In Septmber of this year (2010) I asked a question online of JustAnswer and agreed to pay the £22 fee. I find that instead of a one-off payment these scheisters have been taking £22 every month since out of my bank account. These people are crooks and should be shut down immediately and then prosected.

I have done a question a dr. ? On that website on june 2nd and since then i have been charging monthly uss 18. 54 on my credit card, how can i stop it? Please? I see there are lots of complaints about them, so how cant stop them? Hoping you can resolve this. Thank you

JustAnswer charging unauthorised fees to my credit card

In July I requested the answer to a question related to problems with my computer from JustAnswer.
The agreed fee was $22 for the answer provided. Since that time this company has been removing the same amount from my credit card account at the beginning of each month without my Authority. (To which a further tax amount of $0.66 is added)
I will be demanding an answer from them by e-mail with a please explain request and a further request for the unuthorised withdrawal amounts to be refunded. The follow up will be to pursue legal advice and to place a notification on the internet concerning this scam.
In the meantime I would appreciate your advice as to how an immedite STOP PAYMENT order can be place with the relevant bank with which I have the credit card account.

JustAnswer withdrew£21 without authority

I contacted this company with a problem I was having with my Vauxhall Zafira car. I agreed to pay £21 on condition that I was satisfied with their answer to my problem. Since I was not satisfied I assumed that no payment would be taken.However, on looking at my latest bank statement I find that on October 15th £21 was withdrawn, without my authority, from my account.
I intend going into the bank tomorrow, to try and ensure that no further withdrawals are made.

JustAnswer fraud/deceptive advertising

To put it succinctly, JustAnswer.com was at the time of my joining, November, 2, 2010 a risk free 30 day trial for $60. It stated that for THAT 30 days I could ask as many questions I wanted for $60 and could cancel anytime and would not be bound to any contract yada, yada. It was simply to check them out.

I did and LOVED the person I received, however, I had not realized (my own fault) the JustAsk was a non-legal advice site. Well naturally, all my questions were legal and since the person I worked with was so great I even gave him a bonus (he deserved it IMHO). That was the last time I used the site, perhaps the 2nd and 3rd or whatever to respond to his queries. I spoke to him a last day and may have continued yet JustAnswer wanted MORE MONEY! What happened to TRIAL UNLIMITED. So I cxled within the 30 day period and they said IF I DO THAT, I WILL BE CHARGED FOR EVER ANSWER EVER RECEIVED. What is this all about? What do I do? I'm barely making it on my own thus JustAnswer. Why do they prey on people like us? EVERY ANSWER? Sometimes it was one sentence. What was the $60 UNLIMITED 30 DAY TRIAL ABOUT?

They answer any email "pronto" to threaten me but NO ANSWER for help. What is this? All my best. BE CAREFUL! Squeaks going broke

I entered my $1 "deposit" through PayPal on 4/1/11 to ask a neurology question. The site says answers within minutes, maybe hours. Three days later I had no answer. I finally figured out how to ask for a refund, and on 4/10 was informed, "We will process your refund manually, usually within a day". It is now 4/18/11 and I have received no refund.

You are a mob of thieving and corupt ###. Not only was your advice incorrect, but you unauthorised charged my credit card twice. What a 'rip off' company you operate.
Thanks for the inconvenience of lodging a complaint and having to cancel my previous credit card. I do hope that the Police will catch up with you.

I paid to have my question submitted to an "expert" and I received an email stating if I want to view the answer I have to pay an additional $3! And when I try to log in to the site and/or ask for help on their help page I keep receiving a message "This email address already exists in our system." This just a way for them to avoid contact with you.

I asked JustAnswer a question regarding a fault in my washing machine. No response after a few weeks. I have no faith in this "company".

I have since requested a refund. I won't hold my breath, but will lodge another complaint when it doesn't happen in about 3-5 days.

My advice is DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY.

I asked a question to one of their solicitors, I never received an answer, but they took £11 from my account. I have sent two emails to into@justanswer.com asking for my money back. I have not received any reply.

Claim to have expert for a specific state for legal but the ones that pop up are in other states and of course receive no reply. I just request to close my account given they continued to ask for a depost which ended up to $60. No way to contact them and definitely disappointed. I had used them before for other questions, but the legal is definitely a joke

Used their medical site 12/14/09. Agreed amount was $18.00. One question asked, One accepted answer. Case closed, right? No! They double charged the amount agreed upon $18 now totaling $36 and on top of that I was charged an additional $52.20! My intention now is to go to my bank and file fraudulent charges against justanswer.com as the do not respond to any of my inquiries.

I submitted a question to Justanswer and paid £6.30. I was told the money would only be taken from me if I accepted an answer. I haven't had any answers at all but the money has been taken.

JustAnswer incorrect debit £13. 00 off my credit card

I have had a debit of £13.00 taken of my mastercard credit card. I do not know what this is for and I dont want it to happen again. I did use this service earlier in the year but paid for it, and now they have debited my card again with out permission and not at my request. I contacted my credit card company and they say I have to ring the Merchant and the merchant shows as COmputer Network/Information Services (internet) but I dont know how to contact them. This site came up when I put the JUstanswer site into the internet. Hopeyou can help.

I sent a legal question on line to Just Answer and waited all day but no reply came on two occasions, this was on 10th November. On the 11th November my account shows two withdrawals - one for £28 and a further one for £38, neither of which was sanctioned by me. How can I recover my money.

JustAnswer no refund, no reply from customer services

Asked a question in the TV/Electronics section. Got the answer after 2 days - I have had my issue resolved by then as it was quite urgent.
According to the "how it works" information on the website, it was all perfectly fine for me not to accept the answer, to not to pay for the advise and to request a refund (refunds possible for up to 1year from the date of initial deposit, they say).
Wiithin the 2 weeks time I have requested refund 4 times...Guess what...NOTHING!
I submitted a query to customer support..Guess what...NOTHING!

And here are just some examples of the scam being pulled out right in front of the silly, silly public (like me...)

JustAnswer they keep taking money out of my account monthly

About 5 months ago I asked a medical question, and paid $18 for the advice. Since then every single month they have gone into my account, and charged $18. I have written them and asked them to stop, and said for someone to contact me. I have had zero contact with anyone. I will now go to my bank and inform them to not pay anything from this company. PLEASE BE INFORMED THAT ONCE THEY HAVE YOUR CREDIT INFORMATION THEY KEEP USING IT.

I asked a simple one time question. The answer I got was its okay, don't worry. Well if I hadn't worried I would died. I had emergency surgery last week. Not sure if it "cancer" yet. I cancelled this so called one time deal and now have been two time in less than a month for $35.00. I cann't afford that. I got in touch with my credit card and they locked my accout, they refunded one month and the I have to see about getting back from the web site. This is a rip off! Big mistake letting them fonies know your account number..

In the month of November 2011, I got in contact with Just Answer Doctors in order to have some medical information because I was diagnosed with a serious disease. I had one contact and dropped it since I didn't find that the information they provided met my needs. Since then, regardless of the fact that I have never contacted them again, my bank account is being debited of 40€ each month, that is December, January and February. Tomorrow I will go to my bank and ask them to block any payments coming from this dishonest site Just Answer Doctors.

On 7th October 2001 I sought a medical opinion by email from Just Answer Doctors and was charged $42.00 which was withdrawn from my Master Card. I also was charged $40.81 by Just Answers Doctotrs again on 7 October. On 14 October, Just Answer Doctors once more charged me $42.00. Now on 14 November I was charged another $42.00. Other than my initial request I have initiated no subsequent dealings with Just Answer Doctors yet they have been withdrawing money from my Credit Car4d (Mastercard) Account. They have withdrawn an aditional unauthorized $124.81 from my account. I want the amount of $124.81 representing unauthorized withdrawals to be refunded to my account. justanswer doctors keep charging me $38.00 a month when i never got any answer from them. i did not know that the charge are an on going thing. i have ask them to remove this charge from my crdit card since september when i first contacted them, if fact the same day stating i never got an answer to my question. january 5, 2011 at this time my bill to them is $114.00

I would like to know why I am getting $100 taken out of my credit card...I have already cancelled my subscription...I would like you to reimburse my credit card...I do not want to be part of this scam anymore..& take my name out of your lists..i did get an answer from one of your doctors.& was satisfied..Only thought I should pay only once..

i have just received another bank statement and just answer doc have taken another £5 OUT OF MY ACCOUT i do.nt ever remember ever signing up with themthis is stealing will someone please tell me if they have a phone No. for this lot or e.mail addressi would be obliged i have beeb in touch with my bank and if i do not get satisfaction from just answer doc the bank will deal with this nasty company get on you skates just anwer doc and stop this fiddling

WOW, I am in the same situation & mine has been $30 since July 2010, and now having trouble with Bank as they said i agreed on this monthly service! I am though going to take further action! I was told you can go through the Fedral Police in your state? I am going to try what ever it takes, never know may see me on TV one day to warn people. I only paid (i think) as so long ago, that too me it's a lot longer than July 2010!
The Bank told me what to do on "JustAnswerDoctors" site to STOP the money from coming OUT! It has really upset me, as on very low income due to Workers Compensation. I have never thought of them, never had any messages in my email account and NO other communication from them, only the once the very first time like i said, i believe longer than July 2010! Have any of you had any feedback from them either?

I too am getting repeated monthly charges to my credit card for services not received! This is a scam operation EVERYONE needs to be aware of. I used them once 3 mos. ago, received unsatisfactory answers and told rthem so. I printed off an email response from them stating they were unhappy I was disatisfied with their service, yet every month they keep charging my credit card with $45.00.
