Very poor 🤒
We don't know much about how CVS handles customer complaints outside ComplaintsBoard, but what we see here, on our website, is quite disappointing. We think there might be reasons for the company's actions (like not knowing about the complaints), and we would be happy to see them among customer-focused businesses that easily solve customer problems. But until that happens, we ask reviewers to be cautious when dealing with CVS and using their services, and to carefully read the experiences of other customers on ComplaintsBoard, because who is warned is armed, you know! 💪

CVS CVS Pharmacy, Aberdeen Maryland

Last Thursday, , July 1, 2021 my cardiologist was to call in a prescription. On Friday, I went to pick it up. Pharmacy said Dr. did not call it in. Dr. said he did. Called this morning, Tuesday, July 6. they said my script would be ready by 6 pm. Went in at 615, it was not there. Pharmacist said she did not go through todays delivery. This is the 3rd or 4th time this has happened where it has taken me over a week to get my prescriptions.

CVS Condition of the store

My mom and I happened to stop at a CVs that we never go to because it is out of our way. Today we had to go buy it so we decided to go in instead of go to our regulars which was out of our way at the time. When we walked into the store I could not believe The condition of the store. There was 2 people at the registers and only 2 or 3 people in the store at the time. When we checked out I asked the guy why the store was such a mess and he looked at me like I was crazy and then said It's hard to get anybody to work. Well I could see in him that he wasn't doing any more than he had to. Normally I would not complain about something like this Butt I know that CVS Would not be happy being represented like this. The address the store is, is
7250 Venoy, Westland, No 48185.

CVS attempting to fill a prescription at CVS #7710 at 100 E Commerce St, Brownwood, TX.

On wednesday, June 23, 2021 @ 2:01 PM DR Tarver sent an Escript for pain medication RX 1174411 to CVS pharmacy, 100 E Commerce ST, Brownwood TX. It is for 60 tablets, a 30 day supply. this perscription was last filled on June 3, 2021 therefore was due to fill again on July 2, 2021. I inquired about it and was told it would be filled on July 3, 2021. I went to the Pharmacy on July 3 and was told they did not have enough product to fill the prescription. This is the second time this happened in a 3 month period. last time I had to wait for it to be ordered then delivered which took 5 days. My pain does not wait I have to suffer until I finally get my medication. This time the pharmacist told me she had 40 pills and I could take those and lose the other 20 because I was prescribed 60. Left with that option and my past experience I opted to take the 40 pills which will give my DR time to re-order the meds. At that point I was informed by the Pharmacist she had no key to the safe. Someone had taken it home with them. She took my phone number and said she would try to obtain a key and call me if she did. I finally got a call and drove back across town and was able to finally get the 40 pills after standing in line at the pharmacy for 1 hour. One other thing worth mention is the fact I have to drive across town to the pharmacy to even get information concerning my meds because each time I try calling some lady finally answers the phone with "pharmacy please hold" and no matter how long I hold she never returns to the phone. So... as of now I am changing my pharmacy from CVS to Wallgreens. My wife uses Wallgreens and never has any of the above mentioned problems and by the way, when I was standing in line for an hour at CVS pharmacy yesterday behind several peopel I heard no fewer than 3 of them state they are also changing pharmacies.

CVS Disrespect and poor attitude to senior citizen and veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces

To Whom It May Concern
July 3 2021

At about 1:15pm this day I was in the CVS store, located at 6516 Landover Road, Landover, Maryland, 20785, store #1489 at the pharmacy waiting on a prescription. I sat down and waited.

After about 10-15 minutes I asked the clerk at the counter (name unknown, small African American female) if my prescription was ready. She said "yes, but I will be waiting on the gentleman in line first". I informed her that "I was here well before the gentleman arrived and to please provide my prescription first". She replied: "No" and interestingly enough did not dispute that I was there first.

I have been a customer at CVS when it was call "Peoples", a senior citizen and veteran of the U.S. armed forces and do not deserve this kind of attitude treatment from your employees. Everyone else at this store has always been respectful and helpful but this particular person, in my opinion, has an attitude problem. Another clerk completed my order.
M. Green

Desired outcome: Attitude adjustment training to prevent it happening again to myself and other customers.

Get off your high horse. You are no more worthy of respect than others. Your being a vet and senior citizen has nothing to do with your experience. Nor does it guarantee more respect than others.

I did not ask for more respect than others, so please do not put words into my mouth or attempt to turn the complaint around in favor of CVS You weren't there! I take it you never served your country in the military, never fought in combat, while others were sitting comfortably at home, And I suspect that you were watching TV, sucking your thumb looking at cartoons when others fought for that freedom you enjoyed. Not looking for more respect than others just respect! And that was not shown to me at CVS.

And as far as respect for a senior citizen I would say "yes" they deserve just a little more respect just as you hopefully would give more respect to your grandparents than you would to others. They earned it. If you cannot clearly see that, you just don't get it. I learned a long time ago to walk away from irrational people, so this ends my thread and my exchanges you. Be safe

Face it the gentleman was there first. WAIT YOUR TURN. If you do not want people to think that you are implying that you deserve mire respect do not bring up your age and military status. I like how you are assuming how i never served in the military because i called out your arrogant behavior. It is stuck up people like you who make the military look bad. You are shaming the military. You are no more worthy of respect than others. If you cannot treat others with respect you did not earn it. Being old does not make you more worthy of respect. You are the one that needs to be changed you arrogant old man.

CVS Poor service for important prescriptions

CVS on 1200 HW 35 in Middletown NJ. I have not, not one time refilled my scripts without a issue. The people who work in that pharmacy told me 3 days ago that they needed a letter from my doctor to refill my meds. I spent an hour on the phone with them (From work!) to get it resolved. I gave them my Doctors fax number so they can get the request. Then told me they would call me if there was any issues. I went today to pick up my meds, they told me that they needed my doctor to send the letter to the ins.co. Don't you think that would mean they would call me to let me know there was in issue? No they wait for the to @#$@#$@# come into the store, after im out of meds for 3 days to tell me this.. This location sucks! If it wasnt for my ins.co. Making me use cvs I would tell the whole co. To f* off!.. Soooo pissed off!.. Now, I dont have another day off from work until next week,.,. Thanks cvs! I'll go without my meds for 10 days or so because you couldnt make a f* phone call!@!@! This happens allllllll the time!.. Its like I work from them! I have to keep an eye on their work!..

Desired outcome: Do you really care what my Desired result is?????

CVS Store overall

Store #3096 is not very clean, stuff is strewn everywhere. Most customers waiting at the pharmacy are either picking up a prescription for themselves or a family member. To stand on a line halfway around the store and be inundated with the unnecessary "noise" being pumped from the ceiling is quite frustrating. The pharmacy employees are calling out names of people waiting for prescriptions and no one can hear them over the crap coming out of the ceiling. We are not there to be "entertained", we're there because we have to be, and we can't hear ourselves think!

Desired outcome: Is obvious

CVS Unhelpful pharmacist

two days ago I received a a auto call from CVS, The call was to remind me that I have two prescriptions due for renewal soon and they are scheduled drugs and require me to have my doctor fax a new prescription. I could not under stand the name of one of the drugs even after listening several times. Today at 11:30 I went to the Main St. Manchester pharmacy to pick up 2 prescriptions. While there I asked the clerk which two prescriptions are requiring a doctors renewal. She could not tell me. I ask the pharmacist, she said she didn't know. I have never had this problem in the past, I feel this person was just being rude. I am 74 yrs. old and have several doctors and numerous prescriptions making it difficult to keep track.
If she lacks the knowledge of what is a scheduled drug I and everyone else should be concerned with her filling prescriptions.
Wayne Rautenberg [protected] I have left CVS in the past and will again if this should continue.

Desired outcome: Demand her to be more helpful and test her knowledge on scheduled drugs.

CVS Unethical behaviour

On June 24th, 2021 My mother had a surgery. She was discharged late around 6:30 pm doctor had given me written prescription for her pain medication. I was aware that CVS pharmacy where my mom gets her medication closes at 7 pm therefore I rushed to pharmacy and arrived there at 6:45 pm. When I went there there were two customers ahead of me. After me there was no one, it was only me. When my turn came and showed the prescription to Technician, right away she starred at her watch and reminded me that it was late and they were closing within 15 minutes, I reminded her that she had 15 minutes to close. She told me oh I cannot fill the medication especially the pain pill because it was narcotic. I told her my mom was in pain and she was just discharged and she is in excruciating pain right now and she cannot spend night without pain medication. Technician took the prescription to the pharmacist and showed her and both of them murmured between each other and I saw technician showing her watch to the pharmacist. Pharmacist came to me and told me it was too late to fill the pain medication because there were no doctors at the hospital. I told her per discharge nurse I was told doctors were there until 10 pm if something didn't work pharmacist can call the nurse station. In short, Pharmacist never called and both pharmacist and technician started helping others who came after me and ignored me. Later, pharmacist came to me and told me she called the hospital and doctors had already left. I told her I can bring the discharge paperwork and she can call the nurse station which I did. After few minutes both technician and pharmacist told me they couldn't read the prescription. I had to take the prescription to Walgreen and other CVS pharmacy, I had presented the prescription to both technician over there and they were able to read. By the time I got to other CVS pharmacy it was too late and had to wait until next day to get my mothers medication. She had to spend her night in pain. On June 29th the Pharmacy supervisor (Kimberly Uyeda) called me regarding my complain and when I mentioned her, the behavior of her two staff members she was defending them and told me that it was too late to write them up. But she told me she wrote them up for staying over 5 minutes. Which to me she sounded like she doesn't care about her Customers. She started lying to me that there patients before me and her staff had to help them. Which was totally lie to me. There are cameras in the pharmacy and can be a proof.

Desired outcome: Very dissappointing.

I have been reading the complaints about CVS pharmacy and how customers have been shorted their necessary schedule II pain medications. I realize this happens, but, I myself to the best of my knowledge never been shorted any medications.
Nothing good comes from pain medicine, it is sometimes a necessary evil... I hope everyone feels better soon!

Another example of poor, very poor customer relations by CVS employees. Both employees should be reprimanded or fired for causing another human being excessive pain. This stubborn attitude by CVS employees cannot be tolerated and is indicative of poor management from the ground floor to the top.

CVS CVS pharmacy HIPAA violation

I believe that CVS regularly breaks HIPAA laws by reading out prescription names over its microphone in their drive through. I've complained countless times to corporate and nothing has changed. They should do what Riteaide does. Simply ask how many prescriptions are being picked up and leave it to the customer to ask about any medications by name. A reporter could do a great news spot on this. Take a camera through the drive through and video record the employees saying drug names through the microphone. The rest of the drive through may hear this sensitive information, and any other passengers in the car receiving the prescription. CVS needs to train their pharmacy employees, however I've had actual pharmacists at CVS name my meds out loud and they should know better. Shame on them. This has never happened to me at the other pharmacies I frequent. I called in January and February of 2021 and told CVS corporate to get their district managers on this issue. Since then, I've had only one time when my private information was kept private by their employees. If I'm wrong, and this is not a HIPPA issue, it certainly should be. I prefer a pharmacy that takes the utmost care and caution with all of my health information, in every capacity, at all times.

CVS Linked accounts

For a few years I tried to set up a brand new card that he and I could share the rewards we earn. CVS told us they cancelled his old card and we submitted for a new one with me added and updated information. I started noticing inconsistencies ( missing rewards, strange receipts showing up in new email I provided) so after calling and writing and complaining, I again was told they would purge all info and start again. I did using different contact information and again crossed links with stranger info showing up in our email ( think HIPPA) There was no purging our information as requested. So now we have 3 diff accts linked to us, someone keeps using one of them, my husband debit card linked to it but we can't delete/ edit so rewards going to whomever, still getting receipts in email that aren't ours. It's a hot mess. My husband spent over an hour last week telling them to delete all our information. You guessed it, i went in there today and still has my phone number in their system! we are switching pharmacies and contacting an attorney

Desired outcome: Our information completely purged from the CVS computer system, all emails, phone numbers, reward card and debit cards, everything

CVS Answering the phone

The store in Hazard, Ky (the first store) does not answer the phone. I have been put on hold everytime I call. Today takes the cake. I tried multiple times to call, sometimes waiting 30 min at a time. All toll I was on hold today for 3.5 hrs. I live 20 miles from the store and I have severe copd so it takes me quite an effort to get to the store for my medicine. I have a webpage with them hoping it would make things better. I have two meds listed as in process now for 5 hrs. I called just to see how much longer it would be as I was going to have to get help to go and get meds that I need. The;y never answer the phone at this store. I will be making plans to find a better pharmacy. There is no reason for not answering the phone unless the company is too cheap to hire enough help to answer the phone. CVS has gone to the dogs when it comes to service to their customers. Very disappointed

Desired outcome: Answer phone calls, customers first

CVS Medicine refills

I was on hold for over 20 minutes trying to ask the pharmacist a question. I never did get to speak with the pharmacist. I asked if there was a problem and was informed that they are understaffed due to the closing of a local privately owned drug store in our area. It seems that CVS Bessemer City, NC has been overwhelmed by new prescriptions from people who patronized that pharmacy. They cannot keep up based on the number of persons who have transferred their prescriptions there. Why can't you give them enough people and hours to handle this crunch?

Desired outcome: Allow the pharmacy to hire enough people and allow them enough hours to accommodate this influx.

CVS Returning glasses (cheaters)

I bought at pair of glasses while helping my parents move and when I got home to Bellingham Washington I tried to return them as they were the wrong strength. I went to the CVS Pharmacy in a Target. I was told the the systems are completely different and they could not help me. And that the closest CVS that I could go to is in Everett. Which is an hour away. The glasses are almost $30, so not worth it to drive an hour. What do I do? Ship them somewhere?

Desired outcome: I would like a refund for the glasses.

CVS Store employees

I wen to CVS yesterday to pick up a few items. The employees who work at this store are very unprofessional. The lady (name I did not see) and the man (named Christopher) were discussing his relationship issues in a very inappropriate way. The lady was trying to get him to date his sister - showing him photos, etc. They were discussing inappropriate videos, etc. I had to wait for them to finish their conversation to be helped. This is very poor customer service. These employees should not be working there. This is a place of business not a dating/hookup place. I do not want to hear employees disrespecting women in the manner that these two were. I was very offended. My sister went in the store later and she said they were still having the same conversation. Disrespectful and rude employees. I will not be back to this location. I will take my pharmacy needs and business to Walgreens.

Desired outcome: That these employees be terminated.

CVS Lack of service at pharmacy

On 6/25/2021 I was discharged from Lehigh Valley Hospital for kidney Surgery, when discharged the doctor issues 4 prescriptions for pain, frequent urination, swelling, possible infection. My wife took the 4 prescriptions to our usual CVS on Easton Ave in Bethlehem Pa 18017. She was told she (Pharmacist) is busy and cannot fill the prescription now and she could come back tomorrow. My wife pleaded that I had just got out surgery and am in extreme pain and the person said that they will fill one of the 4 prescriptions and asked my wife to choose one of the 4 to be filled in an hour. I need all 4 immediately for all the related issues and to ask my wife to choose one of the prescriptions is ridiculous. I cannot fathom this inability to understand the necessity, and I understand you can get busy but to delay necessary drugs to take after a surgery that day, and then to ask my wife to decide one of the four prescription is inexcusable. I have been a CVS custom my entire life as I am sure my records reflect. Please contact me about this. Randall Miller 2873 Brandon Rd, Bethlehem [protected] [protected]@gmail.com

CVS Pharmacy customer service

I moved to this address 5 years ago and began using this particular CVS due to it's location. The service I receive at the pharmacy continues to be slow and rude. Today, 6/25, after spending the day in the ER, I was given 2 RX's to be filled. I went to my closest CVS and waited in line inside the store almost 30 min. just to drop off my RX's. There was 1 customer in front of me. Employees that were not busy didn't greet me or acknowledge me. Finally I was able to drop off and was told to come back in an hour. I waited over 1 1/2 hrs and went back only to be told that I should wait until I am notified which I wasn't told at the time and this patient is not even signed up for the service. I was told it would be another 30 min. This will now be my 3rd trip to this location for the same rx which is badly needed. This is not an isolated incident for this store. I don't understand how it can always be this backed up. At least acknowledge my presence and be truthful with me. I will not use CVS again, have transferred all my personal RX to Meijer due to this service. This incident today was for my son, thought I would give them another chance, but what a waste of time today. My time is also valuable and I have a sick patient at home waiting on meds.

Desired outcome: Improve your service, be nice to customers and be truthful about wait times and processes.

CVS Pharmacy conduct and pharmacy rudeness, not filling rx.

June 23, 2021 Cvs pharmacy store #3767 on Cleveland hwy. Dalton, GA 30721.
Been using CVS for 20 + years. Service in the last 2-3 years has gone down hill.
Different employees in there everytime I or family member go there.
Worked in medical field, Med. Lab tech for 40 years. Been with the same practice/group of Dr's for 35 years. Pediatric group of Dr's and Nurse practice.
Went to pickup rx for daughter sent in at noon, wasn't ready 20 minutes more, this was at 4-5 pm. Also one of the dr's called in antibiotic for me for sinus infection. Was told they didn't have one for me, explained to 2 different techs that it was left on voicemail at 9-9:30 am. They said no voicemail for Cephalexin but call for Celebrax. And tried to explain the difference to me! DUH!
I'm not stupid. Explained that that wasn't called in by Dr. S, that it was abx.
Pharmcist came to driveup window, explained to her what was going on and she said it was illegal for peds dr to treat adult person and she wasn't filling it for me. Then she hung the drive thru phoneup on me! Was told to come back for medrol dose pack for daughter, they didn't have it on record either! This happens all the time!
So I call dr's office and speck to nurse, she calls them at CVS and pharmcist tells her it's illegal too. Guess she has law degree too?
Refused to fill all rx from the office for daughter and myself.
Spoke with dr's and nurse practice next morning and they all state that they are licenced to treat all age groups with any medicine they are comfortable with rx. Dr treats employees all the time for YEARS. Peds' dr are general practice dr's with speciality!
I am very upset with this store and will be moving ALL FAMILY rx for myself, husband, and family, grandson, everyone. I have heard numerous complaints about this store.
Also daughter was in store several weeks ago and someone passed out, the same pharmacist and a Nurse? that was giving shots didn't know what to do. My daughter stepped up and told them what should do and to call 911!
How sad. A teacher had to instruct their staff! I won't be using them or my family anymore and I'm not one to complain alot, been very patient with them over the years but this the last straw.

Desired outcome: changing pharmacy, need to educate employeees on rudeness and laws.

CVS Service of a pharmacist

incident/injury happened June 16, 2021
TVR (95) : [protected] if this is my number...
I went for a Tetanus shot, but the Pharmacist convinced me, that I could have my Pneumonia shot at the same time, so I agreed.
He had me seated, and while he was standing, he gave me his first shot instead of the deltoid muscle, right under my humerus (shoulder) bone, deeply, right into a nerve! it was as painful as a dentist numbing shot into a nerve; and continued with the second shot, exactly to the same place! I could hardly breathe. Two hours later I cannot move my whole arm and was in extreme pain! I could hardly sleep with the strongest painkiller; today - a whole week later - I can move my arm, but NOT FULLY! Please see the attached photo that was taken an hour ago, a full week later of my arm, and the area, where he administered these shots.
My conclusion and complaint is, that he is a butcher, he formally tortured me and as a result, I couldn't work for 4 days; and still cannot fully use my arm! What kind of business is this?

Desired outcome: I lost full 4 days of work; that means monetarily at least $500. courtesy of this pharmacists
