McDonald's higher pricing then other mcdonalds*

I would like to complain regarding McDonalds Mutiara Damansara Drive-Thru.

In the drive-thru:-
I ordered 2 Horlicks McFlurry and paid MYR10.60.
When I wanted to collect, I was given a wrong order of 2 Oreo McFlurry and wanted to change it to my right order.
McDonalds staff demanded I Pay an additional MYR1 for the Horlicks McFlurry.
I did not want to pay and wanted a refund but they did not refund me.
So I am out RM10.60 and no Horlicks McFlurry.

I then proceeded to Mcdonalds drive-thru Centrepoint, Bandar Utama and Ordered 2 Horlicks McFlurry and only paid MYR 9.55 for it.

This brings up the question:-
Why is Mcdonalds Drive-thru Mutiara Damansara prices are higher for the Horlicks McFlurry (because I paid MYR10.60 vs. MYR9.[protected]@Centrepoint Bandar Utama) and also was demanded to pay an additional MYR1.

McDonald's over charged

I stopped by the McDonalds at 1501 Keowee St Dayton Ohio as I do a couple times a week for breakfast on the way to work. I ordered off the dollar menu as I normally do. Ordering a Sausage McMuffin no Egg the lady that took the order(Which as with every morning I stop in is very friendly) told me as normal my order was a dollar. I pulled to the window and paid with a ten dollar bill and was given change. I pulled to the next window and realized that I had only received $6 and some change. I just figured an honest mistakeand I looked at the receipt and was charged for Oatmeal(another honest mistake) I spoke with the woman at the next window and told her the problem and she took the receipt and change and made a correction bringing me back another amount. After looking I now had $7 and some change. I told her that what I had ordered was off the dollar menu and she said she wasnt sure and checked with another person that I assume was a manager and she said no that it wasnt on the dollar menu. I tried telling them that I had just stopped in on Thursday and purchased the same thing and was only charged one dollar. She said they must not have charged me right. Needing to get to work I decided to leave and called to speak to the manager after I got to work. I tried explaing what had happened and she tried telling me that I had not ordered what I had said I did. I order the same thing every morning. Only changing with maybe ordering a hashbrown to go along with my order.
Below is the only response that I received about being over charged

McDonald's my fifth complaint different company

Everytime I go to McDonalds, nothing is ever right. My food order is always wrong, the employees are rude, the service is slow. The fries are never fresh, I always have to ask for fresh fries, and they make me wait for them. Where do you find these people, McDonalds? Certainly you can find people with at least a 2nd grade education to work here. I really just cannot believe that McDonalds is even still in business. My word! :(

Worst of all, you even try to complain about the service they are ready to call the cops on you.

I tried to complain. Since my husband works at Walmart Home office and that usually gets people to treat me better I told them that my husband works closely with the CEO of Mcdonalds. This is when they told me to leave I was blocking the drive thru. I refused and they refused to listen to my complaint because I was using profanity.(I know this was wrong but I was angry at the world.) They threatened to call the police on me even though I claimed my husband worked close to the CEO.

Who cares if your husband works close to the CEO of McDonald's? You really expect throwing that out there will give you VIP treatment? No one cares. Maybe if you acted like an adult and didn't make a fool of yourself by swearing at the workers and blocking the drive-thru, inconveniencing others, they would have taken your complaint more seriously.

I started working at the McDonald's in Ames, Iowa on Lincoln Way in January of last year. While I was there I ran into some very unprofessional people and a few months later felt that I was working in a hostile work environment. The manager there constantly made facebook statuses about "slapping a ###" and "don't mess with me" etc which were all targeted at...

McDonald's fly in my milkshake

On drinking my milkshake, I couldn't get the last bit out so took my top off to get to it, and saw something black inside on closer inspection discovered it was a fly, I then took it to the serving point to show the manager, who told me it had just gone in there, to which I replied no it wasn't as I had only just opened the lid on it, to which he replied he would give me a fresh one, which as you can understand I refused the offer as I was feeling physically sick, he then offered me a voucher which I refused as his whole attitude was not how this could of happened or how he would deal with the problem, but it had just gone in there, if that was the case I would of gone up before finishing my drink in the first place, I have been there many occasions over the last few months and have had no problems, but I will probably not be going back to a mcdonalds outlet again in the near future as this was not dealt with properly and also made me physically sick after discovering a fly in there and will find it hard to accept not all outlets are the same.

McDonald's they are selling products for the wrong price

I went to McDonald subang parade last Sunday to have my fish filet burger. Fish filet has been my favorite burger for a long time and I even had it for breakfast sometimes. One thing about me is before I start to eat my burger, I will make sure the meat, cheese and breads are arranged properly. All the times, I have been doing that and all the times I am very happy and delighted to see a full piece of meat, a full piece of cheese and of course the breads.

But on last Sunday, I was surprised that the cheese IS NOT EVEN HALF PIECE SIZE on my burger. But it didn’t cross my mind at all to make any efforts for a complaint, as I thought that it happens sometimes. And I happily finished my meal on that day. And I have been sharing this news to my friends and they told me that I should make a consumer complaint.

But today I wrote to you not to make a complaint but I wanted to share with you how i have felt and suggested the principal to checked all McDonald’s outlets whether they are genuinely selling the products for the right price? It might be true that this outlet has been selling to customer with only half a cheese all this while?

Perhaps you should do a spot check to ensure that they don’t cheat your loyal customers. And perhaps too, that everyone reading this, should make the efforts to check that they don’t get cheated.

McDonald's very disappointed about slow drive thru

I run a daycare as I drove to your McDonald 4514 Telegraph avenue Sept. 9, 2011 with a van full of hungry children. The drive thru was closed. Yes, I undestand the truck has to unload and supply food however he/she should park else where. I sat 30min. Waiting and observing hoping it would open. I have 20 children which I wanted to feed while on our adventure to our field trip ages 1-5 I didnt want to take them out to much work just eat on the run. We do this on Friday’s.

As, I waited and began typing this on my laptop truck still there business was extremely be lost. At least 40 or more cars left. The lady next to me couldnt get out she was an older lady need an orange juice diabetic sugar low. I offered her a piece of candy and fruit I had. I couldnt go in for her I had the children which werent mind. I called several times to ask when will the drive in be opened no answer. So just a bit disapointed.

McDonald's safety

I am a regular at the Mcdonalds in Kingston Ont on Gardiners Street. Last night on Thursday April 5th, I was dropping in to get my usual after work meal and was shocked to see that the whole store was over run with youth. The lobby was full and there was a particully large, loud and slightly violent group of them hanging around the front dorrs, blocking other customers from entering the location. I decided that I would just go through the drive thru as I did not want to have to deal with this. But unfortunatly I could not avoid them, their were a few cars ahead of me, but the whole drive thru was over run with yet more teenagers, who were clearly under the influence and blocking the flow. As I was sitting at the window waiting for my order, finally after all the kids moved, stopped screaming and acting out, I could see and hear them inside as the server left the window open. I could clearly hear them calling the staff outrageous things that I have not heard since I myself was in hightschool. I sat and watched as they would try to walk behind the counter and bully the staff into giving them food. Once I finally recieved my order adn pulled around to leave the location, I noticed that the group outside had gotten bigger and more crazy. They started to throw drinks and things, screaming at the staff, and starting to involve the normal customers. I witnessed them almost hit another customer with their drink. I am normally not a complainer but I just so happen to notice that this is a weekly occurance. Every weekend that I go to this location I am greeted by massses of rude, drunk teenagers. and I would just like to ask... when is Mcdonalds going to deal with this? I understand they are trying tomake money and so on, but I as a loyal customer should not be scared out of a restaraunt or to enter one, and the staff sure dont deserve to be treated like this repeatedly. McDonalds really needs to come up with a game plan that involves the saftey of the customer and the Staff who work there over night. I am really dissapointed wwith the fact that anyone is put in that position and that it had carried on this far. Mcdoanlds if your going to be open 24 HRS, you really need to consider some sort of solution to this problem. Quite frankly... its REDICULOUS.

If you've ever looked deep into what goes into McDonalds hamburgers and chicken McNuggets you will never ever go back again! I know I won't and that includes Burger King too. You want a little spit and sawdust on you hamburger and fries? Have it your way, and you don't even have to ask for it. That should solve your people problem, and night time snack or supper problem real quick. It did mine.

McDonald's bug in food

I found bits and peices of bugs in my french fries. I went to the manager and showed him. He said" ew You want more? Or what"? I said" I'd like my money back i'll go somewhere else." He didn't seem like he was altogether in the conversation. It was like he didn't care and that he looked at it and shrugged his shoulders and threw it away.

When I left I told him" it's a health code violation and you can get shut down for that mess."

This is the worst McDonalds in the history of McDonalds. The Staff is absolutely the rudest i have ever seen at any business anywhere. The place is always dirty. It takes forever to get your order(so much for fast food) And if you dare to complain you are treated like a fool. The Manager actually laughed at me when I had to walk in from the drive thru and...

McDonald's defective cup/manager

After a long days work i decided to go to McDonalds to get something to eat because i was tired and didnt feel like cooking. I sat in my car and ate in the parking lot, i just didn't feel like getting out. It kept feeling like i was waisting my sweet tea but everytime i checked the lid it was secure. When i got home the complete bottom of my styrafoam cup fell out on my carpet, work uniform, and shoes. I called the manager of McDonalds to let him know what happened, and he kept speaking really fast where as i couldn't understand him (he sounded hispanic over the phone). But every time i asked for the number to the corporate office its funny he could speak very slow and clear. I was very upset as i was already tired from work and now i have to get on my hands and knees to scrub carpet, i have to wash my uniform, and i have to clean my gym shoes so they wont be sticky from the sweet tea. Way to go McDonalds. I am VERY VERY VERY disappointed and insulted by the way i was handled by the manager. Jana Mathews [protected] E-mail Address...[protected]@yahoo.com...will be looking forward to hearing from you!

i am totally disgusted by what i am reading. OK people make mistakes. i worked in McDonalds the whole way through university and going on to my PHD and half of my employees were at school trying to pay there bills. so who are you to talk to people like their trash. in a drive through i did with over 120 cars a hour when busy so yes mistakes are made. the fact you are actually getting this upset about it clearly proves that your life is pathetic. There are people homeless, dyeing of incurable diseases and your upset because you missed a piece of your order. the mcdonalds employee hater please re-evaluate your life.

McDonald's prices

American and Canadian dollars are the same in value yet most items on the menu at McDonald's are higher in price in Canada as compared to most McDonald's in America. I really do not understand why the Mc d's corporation has not established a price sealing for their products especially since the food is prepared and distributed right here with in Canada not to mention the 13 % tax on top which most all Canadian have to pay. So why are these American companies who have sold their rights to Canadian companies (eg: home depot to "the home depot") allow this and why has our Government not stepped in to stop the abuse of pricing in Canada by corporations?

sometimes it can be an item sold for 3.45 in states yet 6.45 in Canada, so this about public awareness to keep the people from getting gypped by American companies who sell their rights to Canadians and no i am not cheap i will spend away on food like it's nothing funny !

Update by chicorics
Mar 04, 2012 5:50 am EST

I think you may have mis-understood me, i meant "before" tax, meaning the prices before the 13 % tax are applied onto any McDonalds items are way higher then what i noticed in America except for service areas so this is not even complaint about paying higher tax which i don't mind, it is purely the same exact items on the menue in these MCDonalds in Canada VS McDonalds in America, for eg: $3.45 for an item in America for the exact same Item here is $5.69 yet our currency are the exact same so why MCDonald's are scamming the people?

Maybe it has something to do with the minimum wages in Canada. I'm no expert but a quick check of minimum wages in Canada shows that I would get paid between 9 and 11 dollars an hour to flip burgers. That is a good bit more than 5 to 8 dollars here in the states. If labor costs are 2.5 percent more than the US counterparts and the stores are responsible for maintaining a profit margin it only makes sense they will be charging more for their product. This will be true of the entire chain of supply. The guy who butchers the cows is probably paid more, the person who packages the frozen patties is probably paid more, the truck driver is probably paid more and, if I recall correctly, energy costs are more.

And that is only the the surface cost. I'm sure that Canadian laws are different in regards to what an employer must pay in benefits. As for a 13% sales tax, well, "free" health care and all that.

"Cook at home if you cannot afford the prices. Also I doubt you are paying 13 percent. Typo must be 3 percent."

actually I looked it up because I could not believe it was true, but the average sales tax in Canada is around 13%, with some provinces as high as 15%.

insane.

if you are paying 13% tax, you are paying nearly double the sales tax of what most states pay in the US, and some states have no tax at all. That is insane. I think your complaint should be more directed to your govt for having such ridiculous taxes.

McDonald's older job seeker

February 23, 2012

***A VERY BAD REVIEW/BAD EXPERIENCE from the perspective as a first time older job seeker through your doors at the McDonalds Restaurant in Truro Nova Scotia Canada (Robie Street) recently.***

I am writing as a first time job seeker walking through McDonald's Restaurant for the first time in applying for a job as a Team Leader/Shift Manager Position in Truro, Nova Scotia Canada recently...This McDonalds called me at least 4 times and I kept returning calls...and finally I connected with a Manager that asked me to come into Truro which is 45 to 50 minute drive from where I live out in the Country. I was told at the Interview when I arrived that the Position had already been taken...I was wondering why I was not told this in an earlier conversation with this Manager as it costs time and money for fuel to come into town to be told this?...I was also told that owning my Restaurant/Pub (I was short order cook as well) in Calgary, Alberta experience in my past was NOT relevant for today and I would need ALOT of training!...I always thought that McDonalds was an Equal Opportunity Employer with NO Age Discrimination and was offering flexible shifts...but this is NOT the case in Truro Nova Scotia...as I was asked what shift I would like and I said day shifts because my husband and I would be sharing a vehicle coming from the country into Truro...she said I would have to work a midnight into the morning shift so... so much for flexible schedules?...Yikes!...and then to add insult to injury she laughed and said there are definitely NO offices here... so my 20 + years in office/assisting/management and Owner of a secretarial service in Calgary.. I guess was definitely NOT a RELEVANT experience!...My question is: Why call me in the first place if they feel I do not have the qualifications needed?...What is wrong with the Recruiting Manager/ Human Resources Interviewer where she should determine ahead of time if I have qualifications needed and why waste my time and money as well as her time?...This is one of the WORST job interviews I have ever been subject to in all my 40+ years of working and definitely not a positive experience!...I feel this Recruitment Manager needs ALOT of training herself!

I have enclosed my Resume below... that was similar, , , to the one sent to McDonalds and I feel I have some worthy job skills?... and so one can see what I mean...(I have not disclosed my phone number or references as I do not want this information posted all over the Internet.)Thank you.

***RESUME COVER LETTER***

Email: [protected]@hotmail.com

To: Human Resources Department
Nova Scotia

Attention: Human Resources Department

Please consider my enclosed Resume for an Office Administrative Assistant/ Manager/Other Work Position with your Company.(I had actually applied to a Team Leader/Shift Manager Position.)

One of my past Employers was Advanced Mobility Products Ltd., where I worked as an Administrative Office Assistant (Office Manager) in Home Health Care for more than 5 years with their Reps, the Disabled (Children and Adults), and the Elderly(Seniors). I was very familiar and dealt with these funding sources on a regular basis such as: the various Child and Adult Ministries in BC (Local and Provincial), DVA (Department of Veterans), WCB in BC and Alberta, ICBC, MS Society, Pacific Blue Cross, and Sun Life.

I was in charge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchase orders, bank deposits, customer service, answered various inquiries over the phone or in our store daily, scheduled daily appointments on a large white board for the Repair Technician, stocked and sold a variety of medical supplies and I was also the Nanaimo Branch Payroll Liaison to our Head Office. I feel I am a very organized, hardworking, dependable, loyal, innovative, accurate, creative, positive, cheerful, self-motivated, mature, multi-tasking professional individual.

I feel my completion of an Office Technology program combined with my Administrative Office/Manager work and consulting experiences such as: assisting clients with marketing, sales, customer service, public relation skills, and being an Owner/Operator of my own neighborhood Pub/Restaurant would be very helpful skills to have for a position in your company. I feel I am very “people oriented” and have always had a good rapport with staff and clients over the years and I have always been considered a “hard worker” in my own business or in working for another company.

I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience for a personal interview. I feel I may have the many skills required for an Office/Other Work Position with your Company. If you need more information please do not hesitate to contact me by phone: [protected] or by email: [protected]@hotmail.com.

Sincerely,

Linda Reynolds

McDonald's coupon

i had a "promo" coupon for one "free" mcgriddle with the purchase of another mcgriddle. turns out it wasnt free at all. the cashier charged me separately for the mcgriddle, the drink, and the hash brown so my total came to be $4.79 instead of $3.99 for a meal. i basically paid an extra $.80 for a free mcgriddle. i am writing a letter to corporate. calling corporate and posting this information where ever i can find. mcgriddles are my favorite mcdonalds menu item. and the ONLY item i get outside of fries, but because of this "promo" i am no longer eating there again. also, i paid an extra $1 for your fundraiser, but now i am questioning the validity of that.

its only 80 cents dude really chill.
Ok, Ask for the manager and tell them what happened they'll give you your 80 cent back ok?
Plus I don't see any other order's except one drink one mcgriddle and one hash brown with a one dollar fundraiser. The coupon would a registered as a 0.00 mcgriddle.

McDonald's demeaning american staffordshire pit bulls

Has everyone heard the new radio commercial? McDonalds states that eating their new McBites is less risky than petting a pitbull! This is implying that pitbulls are unsafe and that their feces marinated, chemical filled, Highly processed, flash frozen & fried balls of cancer are safe! What an abomination! I demand they apologize at once for insulting such a beautiful & loyal dog, not to mention pitbull owners.

I love the person who keeps calling everyone an idiot for posting a comment on pit bulls when they have fact too back them up, I have too agree with it though 'some' pit bulls are one of the most sweetest dogs out there to this date if giving enough love and attention. But most pit bulls are aggressive do to the environment they live in. Ok this is an example, next door is a pit bull that my girlfriend just loves, the neighbor loves his dog too, every morning before he goes too work he'll play with it; wrestling (no biting, no tackling) or play fetch and after he leaves the dog would sit and play with the toys this owner left for him.

Now for the other example of a bad pit bull, My old neighbor he use to beat his dog for just sitting, the pit bull is submissive to the owner, but when I came over too visit the dog jumped and tried too attack me (lucky they had iron bars) and started too bark and nip.

in a 3 year period, there were 88 fatal attacks by dogs in the United States. Pit bulls accounted for 59% of these attacks, with Rottweilers coming in second place with 14%. The New York Post published dog bit statistics from the city's health department that showed pit bulls accounted for 25% of all bit incidents; 833 events compared to 128 for the next leading breed. Granted, many people that are bit don't exhibit the proper amount of caution around the animal, but a Labrador has a better margin of error, and therefore a safer breed.

Message received in my inbox from a deranged poster:

grrrblah4th of Feb, 2012

and i think you should be chained, staved, forced to fight, and beaten... its an animal, it acts on how its been treated, do the same thing to labs and you would get the same bad publicity that pits do... you are an ignorant ### that only knows what is seen... i have owned any different breeds of dogs and the best is the pit bull... when children can climb all over them, pull their tales, run around and chase them and their only reaction is to sit and take it... get your facts straght now just what ppl want you to see...

Really grrrblah? Check your own facts there, you poor cerebrally challenged child, before you go off halfcocked and send ridiculous messages to people you don't know.

If I say air travel is less dangerous that car travel, I'm not claiming that car travel is dangerous, per se. I'm only comparing the relative risks of the two. If I say a baseball is bigger than a marble, I am not insinuating either one is big. It's a relative comparison. Thus, the spot isn't insinuating the dangers of the breed. You are inferring it.

I've not found any recordings of this spot, video or audio, and having only heard rumors on it online I'm, first, inclined to chalk it up to another internet falsehood and second, unable to really reach a concrete decision. If they say that the pit bull is a viscous beast that will rip your arm off, I can see your point. However, if they are saying only that eating their food is less risky than petting a pit bull, then they are not actually implying anything about the breed. (see above.) If anything, the fact that they would have to make that comparison is a bit scary. Breed be damned, patting a strange dog comes with some inherent risk. It could bite you. It could have rabies. You don't know.

However, if they have to tell me eating their food is less risky than chancing a possible infectious animal attack, I'm a bit worried.

McDonald's horrible everything

My husband, our 18 month old sick baby girl, and myself went through drive through and placed a order(for 3 people) for breakfast. We were told "pull up". There are 2 drive through windows. The first window I pull up to there is no one (employee) at the window. I actually waited for a couple minutes then pulled up to the next window, thinking the first window area was not being used(as has been the case in previous visits). After pulling up to the second drive through window an employee pops her head out the previous window yelling at me and my family. Flagging us to back up with several vehicles behind us. I did not do so. After 10 minutes at the second window waiting (with our 18 month old now cranky as well), another employee finally comes to this second window and reluctantly lets me pay for our order. This same employee that worked the cash register snickered at me and then turned to another employee (forgetting the window was still open) and said "what a ###ing ###"...maybe she didn't think my husband, and I would hear her or she just did not care. The same employee turns back to face me, not realizing we had heard the comment made and asked me to pull up to another red line. We waited in our truck for our food for 26 minutes (it was timed). 6 vehicles behind us had already gotten their food and pulled away. I went in to ask for our order explaining we had a sick hungry 18 month old in our truck waiting as well. The same employee gave an extremely disgusted face at me and then laughed at me. Then she turned around and walked away not saying a word. After waiting a few more moments I went back to check on my daughter who is now screaming and crying in her car seat. It was another several minutes before the employee (the same one) brought out our order and yelled "Here" in an angry voice and shoved 2 bags into my lap through our truck window (with my husband watching). The employee then quickly RAN back inside. At this time there were now no other cars behind us. After returning home with our food and drinks we found no straws, no napkins, 2 sandwiches out of packages thrown apart in bag and 2 big breakfast meals with no lids. The only neatly wrapped sandwich (bacon egg and cheese biscuit). My husband took a bite of this sandwich and started choking. As a RN with knowledge of what to do in this case, I use the Heimlich maneuver and finally a chunk of the sandwich flies out of my husbands mouth with what looks like pubic hair in the piece... after opening the sandwich it was found to have several strands of this hair inside.
