EconomyBookings.com I paid twice for secure!

Good afternoon,

I need to make a complaint and maybe find a solution to a problem I had with Dollar Rentals in Orlando when I booked the car through economy bookings.

On the economy booking site, I booked a car with insurance, a second driver and a cancellation fee (in case I needed it.)

When I arrived at Dollar, after a flight that arrived at 11 pm, the attendant said that nothing was included in the amount I paid. He charged me the car insurance again, the value of the second driver.

We replied that we had already paid these fees through the site, but they insisted that we should pay again the amount of U$568.90 to resolve the matter and be able to continue to the hotel with the car.

We were completely shocked by this situation since we had selected the car for the economy booking with insurance and a second driver.

We felt deceived and harmed when it came time to pick up the car and had to pay this high amount of extra fees.

Dollar's treatment was one of the worst I have ever experienced.

They did not make the slightest effort to resolve the issue.

I would like to bring this feedback and know if there is any reimbursement in this situation since I paid twice for services in the car rental.

I also agree that this website is a scam. I had an issue with Dollar in Vegas as well. My flight doesn't get in until 11:30 p.m. and Dollar closes at midnight. If I knew this ahead of time, I wouldn't have booked this rental car.

I contacted EB to see about getting a full refund because this is something that wasn't under my control and they told me I have to speak to Support. The only way you can reach Support is through email. Also, when I asked to speak to a Supervisor, I was told that they're not allowed to speak to customers. Really! I also requested not to get a refund if I don't get full amt. but they went ahead and canceled it anyway and took out the fees. I'm livid. I'm going to deal with my bank on this one. I'm also going to send a complaint to their sister booking site.

EconomyBookings.com Auto rental

I reserved a car on June 10 with full coverage and refund and cancellation. I went to thrifty car rental to pick up my car. They tried to tell me I needed more insurance and wanted to hold more money on my credit card which I didn’t have enough and then they wanted to deposit a 500 towards the car I was here for an emergency and didn’t have itinerary to come back as my son was in a horrible car accident and I wasn’t sure when I was flying back to Boston they wouldn’t release the car and I feel as I did pay for cancellation and reserve the car that I should be reimbursed from your company. This is terrible customer service. I have emailed several times nobody has even got back to me .

Desired outcome: I would like a reimbursement please I never even got the car that was rented for June 10 to the 14th

I have picked up a car from one of your partners Danjor Rentals; Montego Bay Jamaica and not only is it absolutely not road worthy and smelly but I have called the office several times to have a replacement and I am treated with contempt. The radio is also in a Chinese format and is totally unusable.

This is absolutely horrific as when I drive the engine sounds like it is about to fall out and the car jumps periodically on its own.

I have literally cried about choosing your website and these people.

I am making attempts to give the car back and not even that can be facilitated.

EconomyBookings.com Scam

Upon returning my car to the third party car rental company that I booked via EconomyBookings.com, I was told that I damaged the car and it was not true because the car was just dirty but not damage.

I was charged for 700 euro for the so-called damage and it will be deducted from my credit card.

I feel regret that I was scammed by this third party car rental company that I booked via EconomyBookings.com.

Desired outcome: EconomyBookings.com shall refund me the deducted amount of 700 euro.

EconomyBookings.com Does economybooing really have any connection with car rental companies? Scam?

Hello,

I am wondering if the car's announcement one the website that owns economybooking.com are scam. I noticed on the 05 March 2023 in Berlin Brandenburg Airport, Germany. There were a lot of cheap rental cars from various rental car companies. I booked an Opel Corsa, paid 377.20 Euro via your online payment service.

I went to the Alamo rental car company in the airport and asked to pick up my car that I paid for. They have no cars at all at the moment. But on your website, there were a lot of cars from them that were available.

I contacted your "customer care " to take back my money. But you use the strategy of delaying, after two automatic messages "Your case is under survey". Then your company completely disappeared from contacting me-a customer. From March to Now (Juni), 3 months..., your "customer support service" is completely disppeared. So I am wondering if the money is probably yours now?

EconomyBookings.com A car rental wasn't provided, while payment done- full refund requested

Hello and thank you for helping
Please see below the case details my wife and I sent to EconomyBooking 40 days ago, with added documentation. We keep getting automatic responses to email that it's in process. Bottom line: We paid for a rented car and due to company proved mistake - we didn't get it from the rental company. No person to speak to. Unfortunately you can speak only with reservations but not to support!

Hello.

My wife and I had reserved a car to take for Apr 10 at Oxford, England

We got a confirmation and a voucher. We were charged also an extra for “of hours service” (since 10th was a holiday) We also verified that with your representative by phone’ before the flight.

We had arrived to Europcar car branch on Apr 10 at the exact pickup time, and standing with the suitcases in the rain, realized that nobody was there. Your representative nor Europcar’s couldn’t help either.

It appeared the day after that Europcar had send a denial for the reservation to EconomyBooking in the first place (We have a documentation form Europcar branch manager)

We couldn’t understand why we still got a voucher and were charged!

As a result, we had missed our destination, missed a paid accommodation, had to change our plans, waste hours, and pay for a hotel in Oxford and for Uber transfers with our luggage's. loosing vacation time.

We had to do another booking from you on Apr 11 instead of the failed booking (B76724475) and got the car to continue in our plans.

Therefore we are asking for:

1. A refund for the reservation pre-payment – 230.71 Euro for that car that was not provided (no vouchers please in this case. Money back)

2. A refund for the Hotel, and two transfers from Europcar back and forth.

Totally 97.18 Pounds

a. the confirmed reservation followed by the voucher we got from EconomyBooking

b. The denial from Eruropcar, supplied by the branch manager

I had booked full coverage for my rental (booking#: B43984060) through economybookings. However, upon arrival to pick up the car, I was informed that Routes does not accept the coverage provided by economybookings. As a result, I was required to purchase new coverage directly from Routes (invoice: YOW-39991), which amounted to 105.66CAD. Although the renting process itself went smoothly, the issue with the coverage significantly affected my overall experience. Therefore, I kindly request a resolution regarding this matter.

EconomyBookings.com Cancellation Fee after a few hours of booking &1.5mths before the pick up of car

What happened: On the 4th May at 15.57 they confirmed a Booking for a hire car on the 21st June at a cost of £211.38 which they said covered Full Insurance including full Excess cover. When I got the confirmation minutes later I noticed they said I would need a credit card at pick up but I thought why is that necessary as the insurance included everything so this was a walk away deal and no additional payments necessary.

I immeditaly questioned them about the credit card saying I only have Debit cards not Credit cards and anyway why did I need it. They responded at 17.54 see below but with no real explanation so I got nervous about the deal:

The credit card is a mandatory requirement from the rental agency.

Without it we cannot guarantee that the rental agency will release a vehicle.

Please advise!

At 23.13 I said to them if the Hire car company need a Credit card then I will probably have to cancel the car hire. The next day (the 5th May) at 17.32 I had still not heard from them so I said cancel the Hire car and give me a full refund please.

I then got a response at 17.55 saying:

Thank you for your email.

PRIMARY DRIVER CREDIT CARD PREAUTHORIZATION

At time of pick up you will be required to leave a deposit to cover the value of the insurance excess. Usually it takes the form of an amount (minimum: excess+fuel+vat) being blocked on an international credit card in the name of the primary driver (cash deposits, maestro, switch visa electron and debit cards are not accepted). All credit cards will be subject to and must pass CHIP and PIN verification, cards without this facility will not be accepted.

So I was right the Credit card was needed to cover the Excess which they had said was covered by the Full insurance (see attched files). Excess Reimbursement 'Full Coverage' ! At best this is confusing and at worst this is a very misleading and dishonest statement !

Having already asked them to cancel the booking they just sent Confirmation of a refund minus a penalty for cancellation fee of £52.81 which is unacceptable.

I immediately wrote to them as follows:

Hi Tina and Jane,

I questioned you yesterday very quickly after I made the booking at 15.57 that probably the booking was not suited to my circumstances as I don’t have a UK Credit card. You are now trying to charge me a £52.81 Cancellation fee which is ridiculous when I queried the booking within a few hours of making it.

I was in the financial world most of my life and all financial transactions in the UK have a cooling off period of 2 weeks where there are issues with the transaction.

If you do not refund me the full amount, so £211.38, I will have no hesitation in going to Financial Ombudsman to seek recompense. I trust you will reimburse me the full amount by return and I look forward to hearing from you with a satisfactory response.

Desired outcome: A refund in full of £211.38 NOT what they have offered so £158.57 which is less their Cancellation fee of £52.81.

This complaint has not been resolved and Economybookings.com is behaving in a disgraceful and dishonest manner towards it's customers by charging a cancellation fee a few hours after making a booking more than 6 weeks in Advance. They still owe me an amount of £52.81 which is the fee they charged me.

This conmpany should not be allowed to trade in the manner they do and their insurance detail is totally misleading as well. Under English law there is supposed to be a 2 week cooling off period for all financial transactions so I will have to ask the Financial Ombudsman to enforce it in this case,

4. Both bookings B16617850 and B26711738 have been charged to my credit card (Double Charged).
5. Actual rental is only one car.
6. Dollar IAH, Houston, under rental record#[protected] dated April 28, 2023, also charged my credit card for the same rental period (triple charged)

Desired outcome: Charged me only one rental cost period April 28, 2023 till April 30, 2023

EconomyBookings.com Last minute extra insurance charge

Car rental was fine, per se. But at the last minute, they tacked on an extra insurance coverage which they claimed I asked for. I DIDN'T! When i was finally able to get in touch with them the next day, they said too late and sent me an explanation that confirmed the extra coverage was an optional extra and why it was so desirable and sorry but they can't offer me a refund. I did finally get a refund from my credit card company who, in turn, charged it back to these scam artists. LUDICROUS!

Desired outcome: I have my refund (from my credit card company) so I need nothing more. But these scam artists should be exposed and hopefully you will do so.

Rental booking doesn’t provide an itemized statement of what is actually paid to Avis. Avis receipt indicates $0.00 was prepaid. Actually the receipt suggest nothing was paid as if it was a comp rental. This is unacceptable. They appear sneaky about the full coverage which isn’t full coverage. They are a third party and information suggest you are being covered through Avis and you are not.

Desired outcome: Need an itemized receipt for 5/10/2023 to 5/15/2023 at this point. Need to determine if I will ever use this service again.

DON’T USE THIS HORRIBLE RATCHET COMPANY. I USED THEN FOR THE FIRST TIME AND IT IS MY LAST!

I booked a car on May 3 for Memorial Day weekend, and I canceled it the next day (May 4) due to a change in plans.

When I received my confirmation of cancellation, I was appalled to see this UNACCEPTABLE [censored]!

Your refund has been calculated as follows:

• Cancellation fee: 65.79 USD

• Refundable amount: 76.57 USD

WHYYYY would I be penalised for practically 1/2 my reservation when Memorial Day weekend is weeks away? I finally got a hold of a human being, because their options barely would allow you to speak to a human being. When I spoke to someone to dispute this disgusting fee it was like speaking to a robot, and they speak over me. I still haven’t received my refund but they were quick to charge my card. TERRIBLE 1ST TIME CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE AND ITS MY LAST EVER WITH THIS DEPLORABLE COMPANY.

Desired outcome: FULL REFUND IMMEDIATELY

My flight got 8 hours delay, so I let Economy Bookings know about it enough time in advance asking if I should cancel or amend my reservation an what will be the costs, and they simply cancelled my reservation without any refund claiming that the car supplier can't hold the reservation for more than 1 hour!

This is obviously a false claim since I payed the full price in advance and if I'd just spoke with Avis the car dealer we'd

There's no support to talk to. It's been over a month since the incident and I get no answer from the support.

Please do not give me that general answer "contact us at [protected]@bookinggroup.com", you have my email - you contact me.

DON'T BOOK THROUGH ECONOMY BOOKINGS! I rented a car with Europcar through Economy Bookings because it was cheaper, and that was a mistake. My connecting flight was delayed, so I arrived at my destination 30 minutes later than expected. I figured that this would not be a problem, but when I got to the Europcar rental pick-up, it was closed. We took a shuttle to our hotel, and came back first thing the next morning to pick-up our car. Europcar said they could not issue us a car until Economy Bookings manually changed the booking to reflect the new pick-up date/time. We called Economy Bookings, and were told that they were unable to change the booking and there was nothing to be done. They said that a refund would be no problem, and we proceeded to find a different rental car and get on with our trip, planning to deal with the refund when we got home. When dealing with the refund a week later, I was told over the phone that it could only be resolved by reaching out to an automated email, which I did, and didn't hear back from them for over a month, even though it says inquiries should be reviewed in 2-3 business days. We were told that we would not receive a refund because we didn't purchase/couldn't show proof of insurance. Not only had we purchased insurance (I have the receipt still in my inbox), but that wasn't even the problem! We were never even given the opportunity to present insurance, just turned away. I responded that this was a completely incorrect assessment of what happened, and we would like a refund because we were never even given the opportunity to pick up our car. I never heard from them again. Don't get scammed by booking through this company, you're better off paying a couple extra dollars and booking somewhere else.

I've already provided my booking number via email, and as stated above, support@bookinggroup.com emailed me back and provided me with a completely inaccurate, inapplicable reason why I was not able to receive a refund. I'm continuously referred to this email, which has been no help whatsoever and, as stated above, I've already reached out to them many times.

EconomyBookings.com car hire

I booked (and paid for in full) a car for the 18th February from Geneva Airport at 10pm; I arrived with voucher, license and credit card at Alamo desk to be told the car should have been collected on the 17th. I actually have the voucher in my hand it was emailed to me that day on the 18th (I can send to you you need it). Alamo say to contact EconomyBookings as they have made the reservation which I do. EconomyBookings tell me that I changed the booking to the 17th; this is a lie. I have the voucher attached to an email dated the 18th, from them, saying the car is to be collected on the 18th.

I had to book another car through Avis.

I complain to economy bookings who say that I am not due a refund as I failed to show up, did not have a the voucher and did not have a credit card. Well obviously I didn't turn up on the 17th but was there as specified on the 18th with all this documentation.

Hope you can help

This is the standard email for complaints I have been using it. It takes 4-6 weeks and then they don’t deal with it correctly and you start the process again. I’m owed a lot of money because of their mistake not to mention having to find another vehicle at 11.15 pm with three tired children. Feel free to get in touch EconomyBookings and not via an automated response system. Disgraceful

I reserved a car with your agency that was supposed to pickup on April 2-2023 in Tarragona, Spain and dropo off on April 9, 2023 in Valencia Airport. When I was there to to pick the car up they said is not possible to give the car!

EconomyBookings.com Car rental

Before traveling to France, I rented a car from this company. When we arrived at the airport on 25.12.2022 the car rental company was closed. We had to stay in a hotel nearby to go to the airport again the next morning. Since I couldn't get the vehicle, I wrote to the company many times to get its money back, and even after months, I was not paid for. this is theft.

EconomyBookings.com Car rental service was not provided and no refund has been processed

We booked a car rental through Economybookings.com (booking# B24771151) in October 2022. The car was scheduled to be picked up from Nu LAX at 11:30 am on December 18, 2022. However, due to winter weather condition in Vancouver (the departure city) on that day, the flight had been delayed for 6 hours, we didn’t get to arrive at LAX until 4:50 pm. We tried our best to keep the car rental company informed while we were still waiting for the flight to take off, and had sent multiple emails to their customer service and also texted their manager. However, we never received any responses. By the time we arrived at Nu located in Westin LAX, it was around 5:15 pm. To our surprise, the rental office was already closed and no instructions at the counter were given regarding after-hours pick-up. Since there was no customer support from Nu Car Rental, we tried to contact Economybookings, however their office was also closed. As it was getting late and we still needed to drive 2 hours to San Diego, we had no choice but to make a last-minute rental directly from a different car rental company Ace LAX at a much higher price. On the next day, we filed a claim (case# B24771151) with Economybookings and requested for a refund to be processed. Our claim experience with Economybookings has been extremely frustrating. We didn’t receive any customer support during this process. We were first told for making a claim we must communicate with them through emails only and no one is available to talk with us on the phone. Each time we sent them our inquiries, they always sent us the same standard messages and no personalized replies or responses to any of our questions. It has been almost three months now since we reported the claim. We are getting more and more frustrated. Their standard reply emails indicate that a claim process normally takes from 5 to 28 working days. We have now patiently waited for much longer than their promised deadline. Each time we contacted them, either there was no response or a standard message was sent to us and asked us to wait and someone will update us within a few days. A few more days passed, and nobody would contact us. We have been trapped in this endless cycle and are waiting in the unknown.

EconomyBookings.com Car rental refund

I booked a reservation for a car rental for December 24th 2022. When I arrived at the airport to pick up the car rental, I was told by the agent of that rental agency that they had no cars at that time because of the winter storm up north where they had sent all of their cars,and it would be several hours before they would have any more cars and I should come back. I contacted Economy Booking right away as I could not leave and come back hours later, I needed a car right then! I told the customer service rep by the name of Alex, the issue and he said he could arrange for me to pick up another rental car there at the airport. He said I needed to pay an additional amount for that car rental so I gave him my credit card number to do that. When I went to the other car rental agency at the airport, they said they only rented cars to people who had flights and since I was local I would be unable to rent a car through them. Frustrated, I left the airport and contacted the customer service rep. and explained that I couldn't get a car from the second place either and that I just wanted a refund. The customer service rep gave me the email and the booking number to write and explain what happened and request my refund, so I did. I only received email responses acknowledging that they had received my request but that it would be under investigation but would be resolved within 30 days. It's almost been 90 days and I have still not received a refund and they have stopped sending any information regarding my refund! They have completely ignored and disregarded my request for a refund. I am out of my money of which I tried twice to rent a car through them and they have been very uncooperative and helping me get a refund. You cannot speak with anyone regarding refunds, only email. It's a waste of time to try to talk to the booking customer service reps. I will never rent a car through this company again!

I do not understand how this is considered a resolution! What documents was I supposed to provide when everything was handled through my email! Your customer service calls are supposed to be recorded so if you listen to those calls you will know what the situation was and that I was telling the truth. Until now no one said anything about me providing any type of documents, so I still do not view this as a resolution but as a means to just take my money without providing a service! Even offering a voucher for a future date would have been better than nothing!

This is totally unfair and I will tell anyone never to book through you all!

EconomyBookings.com Refund Money Requested but not get an email

I made a reservation via your website on 15th February.

Booking B41378338 for a total sum of 250.81 USD.

Economybookings.com charged amount from my friend's credit card.

Since i have not my own credit card with me Europcar did not accept my booking while register in desk in Tel Aviv then i canceled my reservation after 1 hour booking but Economybookings.com charged from my friend'S credit card.Since i have not get the car i have requested to get refund money back but Economybookings.com never replied back although i wrote them 3 times.

At least you can reply my mail as courtesy.

Please refund my money back.

Why you can not make refund?

I just made reservation in 1 hour since dont have credit card with me then i canceled reservation.what would you lost in 1 hour?

You dont care your customers and only cares your profits.

I never recommend your company to anybody and i will share all my experience on every platform if you dont refund.
