EconomyBookings.com Did not receive car and charged fully

Booking ID (B77771157). Economy bookings denied to refund money when I did not receive the service and still charging for it. Their terms and conditions state that a valid drivers license is required to get a car which I have and I requested from Ontario driving ministry that states my license is valid. They are denying my refund saying I did not provide G license to rent a car. If that's the case then Economy bookings should have put this information on their website as customers would like to know what they are signing up for and not after they have already booked and paid for it. On top of that, while booking the car they asked me to provide license details and if your terms are really to lend only to G license holders why on the first place would you let a customer with G2 license book a car. Also, when I booked the car through their website there was no way to see what the actual rental car agency's terms were as I only had to agree to the terms of Economy bookings. The car rental company had its own terms and conditions which I was unaware of as their was no mention of it. This is literally scamming customers as firstly you do not intend to inform them properly through your website and mislead them with half information. On top of that, they have the audacity to deny customer's hard earned money. I have been fighting with Economy bookings on this matter since 4 months and at this point it is mentally distressing for me as the amount they have charged me is no less. They clearly do not seem to know or follow their own terms and conditions.

I would also like to add if my license would not have been valid then I wouldn't have been able to get other rental cars that I booked with the same license that I provided to Economy bookings. I could even rent a car from New York and come to Canada and being in Canada and having a Canadian driving license they denied giving me a car which makes no sense. All the bookings that I made mentioned valid drivers license is required, so I do not understand how can Economy bookings deny my money for not even giving service which is literally a FRAUD.

Nowhere in your Terms and conditions say specifically that a 'G' license was required. This is a way of misleading customers.

EconomyBookings.com Scam company

NOT USE this company.

We were to arrive at 1pm and pick up a rental from Payless car rental at the Portland airport.

Our plane arrived late and we arrived at the counter at 5pm

Payless counter rep found the reservation and confirmed they had plenty of cars.

However, economybookings had a block on the reservation. We contacted them via phone and they claimed that Payless had denied the booking and they could do nothing. This was said in front of the Payless counter agent. The counter agent, hearing this, asked the economy booking rep to un block the reservation and they would rent us the car. The economy rep hung up on us.

We got a rental car thru Payless and made a complaint to out credit card company. By the way, Payless are mgr continued to try and open the blocked contract through the next 24 hours.

75 days later we got a response from Economy. Their letter to our complaint read "we could not honor the clients rental due to issues beyond our control". Vague and a total lie.

We have re initiated our complaint and are looking at a class action suit for deceptive business practices.

DO NOT book a rental through this off shore sham. We will update here with a copy of their responses and any ideas on how to respond.

We are also making complaints to the consumer protection agency, as well as master card, Bank of America, and will be noticing AAA and The ARP.

We intent to alert every contact we can.

By the way, our contract was for $403.00. Economybookings normal fee is less than 10% on a booking. They didn't pay Payless a dime, instead keeping the whole fee. They are a scam

EconomyBookings.com This company is a rip off

I booked a car with them while on my flight I got the car rental company to find that I wouldn’t pass the credit check to rent a car. I called economy booking while at the rental company and I was told to email support.

I emailed support and finally received a response that they wouldn’t issue me a refund because it wasn’t canceled within 48 hours. My main issue is that they’re not giving me a refund or a credit/voucher. Therefore they’re taking my money and not providing a service & that’s stealing. They don’t really respond to emails. Since then I’ve sent 4 emails with no response. They say they don’t have a direct line. The sales number has no information. They won’t provide the corporate number. They lie and say they have no supervisor. This company shouldn’t be allowed to operate in the US. They are fraudulent. I’m still waiting on a response.

Desired outcome: Please issue a CREDIT, voucher or refund.

EconomyBookings.com Full insurance and car rental

Dont book with EconomyBookings,3.5months later they still owe me 1500€ from the full car insurance.I sent all the documents for the claim 3.5 months ago, they said in the receipt it would take 10 business days and after emailing them 20times with no reply, calling them 4 times they cant give me any information or phone number of the insurance department.

EconomyBookings.com Wrongfully charged and not refunded

I attempted to book a rental back in June of 2022. Upon “confirming” I cancelled the order within 10 min of pressing the “booking” button because I needed to change the times. Economy bookings IS and does advertise refunds for rentals up until a certain point. But, weirdly, my initial booking never was sent to me and I was never given a confirmation for that initial booking. I was still charged for it and never refunded even though I did cancel it - I emailed several times just to get a refund for that I totally cancelled reservation. First time I was told they couldn’t find the reservation in the system. Then they ghosted me. Tried to dispute it through credit card company and economy bookings apparently told them that they don’t do refunds for “picked up” reservations even though it was never picked up, and two a magic confirmation number appears even. After I was told there wasn’t one. They still refuse to refund me the money and continue to ignore me.

Worst company I have ever dealt with.

EconomyBookings.com No response to my request for a refund. I should have received a refund but they continue to ignore my emails.

I had to make a late booking due to another car hire company advised they couldn't provide the car I had booked 1 day before we were due to arrive in Cagliari. Economy Bookings were initially very helpful, the staff that I spoke to on the phone were actually very good, but after having to wait for the booking to be confirmed the next morning and realising there was a mistake on the booking date it all went horribly wrong and I am out of pocket £618.00.

I have sent numerous emails but only get an automated response, this has been going on since the end of August 2022.

I cannot afford to lose this money but they won't even respond to my questions as to why I didn't receive a refund when I had to cancel my booking the very same day I had booked it. They didn't lose anything by me cancelling the booking, it was a last minute booking.

Desired outcome: I urgently need a refund!

This hasn't been resolved!

They still continue to ignore the information that validates my case for getting a refund. I have contacted them numerous times now and still no answers.

Their common above to contact support@bookinggroup.com is pointless, they are dong no investigation whatsoever, just giving me a standard response that doesn't address the issues I encountered.

I have now raised another complaint.

EconomyBookings.com Not giving a refund

I booked this company last min due to emergency and my car being in the garage at the time. I paid over £150 in taxis to collect the car to be told the deposit was 500 not 200 and needed on a credit card. I did not have this and was not able to use the car, however I booked and cancelled the rental within the space of 2 hours and was told by Economy Bookings I am not able to have a refund. I have lost 389 in rental fees and over 150 n taxis plus another rental amount due to not being able to use this one.

I have been back an forth with them trying to get my money back and there are no help at all. No number tp speak with support only an email being told NO.

I am wanting to make a formal complaint. 389 is not a small amount of money and everything is a struggle as it is let alone companys like this taking advantange

Hi!

I rented a from 11/18/22 to 11/21/22 but due to flight delay, I met the Dollar office was closed in BWI. Other company called Herz jumped in to help but they asked me to give $500 security deposit and I never had such amount in my account. You guys never told me this condition during my booking with you. I struggled a lot for transportation. I never got the service I paid for. I was embarrassed by you guys. I need my full refund. 1. On Oct. 13th, 2022 I signed a contract with Economy Bookings for a car at LIS airport # B52825823 for 261.45 EUR to be delivered at OK Mobility agency . Rental was for a 5+2 seater automatic Peugeot 5008 for 6 days (11-16/11/2022).

2. I paid a down payment of 85.45 EUR 0n that same day.

3. One day prior to rental day (Nov. 10th, 2022) EB emailed me a reminder on my upcoming car rental at LIS airport.

4. I arrived at LIS and used the shuttle to OK Mobility office on 11:30 AM to get my car.

They searched for my reservation and informed me that it was cancelled on Nov. 7th 2022…

I never cancelled it. If I did, how come EB office sent me a reminder on Nov. 10, 2022, one day prior to the rental day?

I called EB UK central office and the lady checked and confirmed that my reservation was cancelled on Nov. 7th 2022. Having heard my story she said that i will get a full refund on my down payment and that if the OK agency doesn't have a similar car for me then I should rent elsewhere a car.

The OK Mobility office did not have a similar car available for me, so I traveled back to the LIS terminal, and reserved an available car at GOLDCAR agency. It was a Jeep Compass, 5 seats manual transmission. (a down graded car compared to my reserved car).

5. I paid $526.76 for the rental.

6. I sent EB a complaint, and EB sent me 2 emails promising me that you will investigate my request and that EB will contact OK mobility for documentation.

7. To sum it up:

a. I demand a refund of my down payment of 85.45 EUR.

b. Assuming nothing went wrong, I would have driven your 5+2 seats automatic car for 6 days for 261.45 EUR. Since you made an error I had to drive a down graded car for 6 days for $526.76 .

c. I demand the difference between my contract with you and my payment to GOLDCAR. = 284.27 EUR.

d. I also demand a compensation fee of 100 EUR for the time wasted at LIS airport and for the aggravation my whole family suffered.

e. All together i expect a refund of 469.72 EUR

8. Until today (Nov. 23rd 2022) nothing has been done!

Don't rent through this company.

EconomyBookings.com Car rental overcharged. case b12772905

I am in the UK. I booked car rental through Economy bookings for a 2 week period in August 2022 from Toronto Airport. This was then booked using Eoropcar and I paid a deposit of 157.66 EUR (£130.71 GBP).

The balance to pay on arrival at the rental office was 1114.14 EUR (£923.72 GBP).

The rental company was Routes when we arrived. I duly paid the balance of 1114.14 EUR in Canadian Dollars. However, when I later checked my bank account a total of £1168.43 GBP had been taken for the balance of the rental. This was £244.71 GBP too much.

When returning the car at drop off, I spoke to the rental desk at Routes and they gave me a copy of an email from Europcar to Routes stating the balance due of 1114.14 EUR (correct) but Eiropcar had converted this incorrectly using the GBP to CAD $ exchange rate instead of the EUR to CAD $ exchange rate, giving a total CAD $ amount to pay of 1760.33 CAD.

The Routes employee agreed that the CAD amount was incorrect and provided me with a signed copy of this email from Europcar to Routes.

Since 3rd September 2022 when I arrived back in the UK, I have been trying to get Economy Bookings to resolve this and refund me what I was overcharged. I have emailed on at least 6 times and have received only auto-acknowledgements. Not even the courtesy of a response.

2.5 months of trying to get hold of Economy Bookings to look into this. My booking was with Economy Bookings, and yet no-one at Economy Bookings seems willing to try and resolve this.

I am owed a refund of what I was overcharged £244 plus interest and compensation for all the inconvenience.

Economy bookings need to resolve this complaint. I have provided every bit of documentation and proof that has been requested, but I still have not received any response from Economy Bookings.

Desired outcome: Refund of the overcharged car rental. £244 GBP plus interest, plus compensation.

Don't you think I have tried to get hold of customer support. No response to telephone calls. No response to numerous emails, not even any acknowledgement.

It took me a couple of hours to work out what had happened. It's taken Economy Bookings well over 3 months so far and still no courtesy response. Disgraceful!

Upon booking this company clearly showed me unlimited mileage for one, and two you charged my credit card in US dollars when it showed me a price in CAD, and three now you’re asking for 1500 as well as proof of insurance. I am not from here I have no proof of insurance.

When you asked for this document that we did not have AFTER booking and after payment, we were told we will not receive the car...so we asked to immediately cancel all...but you still charged us for something we did not get.

Why weren't you clear upon booking you needed this?

I rented a car in Jordan with full coverage insurance. Unfortunately I had an accident in which a rear bumper was damaged. At some point during the rental period, I also had a front bumper damaged without me noticing right away — most likely someone hit the car while it was parked and I was away. I paid for the damages to the rent-a-car company as instructed and filed claim on August 1, 2022, 15 days after the completion of the rental of the vehicle which was within the period allowed, submitting all documents requested. I was informed that the process usually takes 35 days but may need up to 90 days. As I did not hear back from them within 35 days, I contacted them through email on September 6, 11, and 16 to inquire update and progress on the investigation, to which I have not received any response. I followed up on their website contact form on September 22 and October 17 again, but I still have not received any response. Today is the 90th day from the submission of the paperwork, and I have not heard anything at all.

Desired outcome: Please refund 475 Jordanian Dinars, or USD670.45.

I purchased a rental car on October 2, 2022 through Economy Booking and my card was charged immediately. I was unable to qualify to

Get the car once I went to the location to pick the car up so I have contacted economy booking for a refund several times with no refund. They don’t want to talk to me and help me to get this settled. They told me that they have 21 days however, it has been more than that I am still not getting any response from them or any answers. The only way to contact them is through one phone number if your lucky and by email in which all I get on response to my emails is an autogenerated email. I feel so helpless in this situation

Desired outcome: Refund my money back like they are suppose to whenever someone does not qualify for a rental.

EconomyBookings.com Car hire full coverage - non payment of claim

I bought the additional Full Coverage cover prior to leaving on holiday to Italy (Booking number B89940539

On 10 July, I had a tyre burst which required the use of a tow truck and two replacement tyres.

On returning from holiday, I supplied the required documentation to support my claim.

Since then, I have heard nothing. I have telephoned their customer support line who can see that my claim is still open, but are unable to contact the Full Coverage team who, allegedly, don’t have a phone number!

Every email I write is unanswered and the customer support team are unable to help.

Although EconomyBookings describes Full Coverage as insurance, it is not an authorised insurance product. If it were, the Financial Conduct Authority and the Financial Ombudsman Service would investigate. Full Coverage is clearly a scam and I will be bringing it to the attention of the UK regulators as they are clearly misrepresenting the product.

Desired outcome: For a response to my claim and refund of the costs I incurred.

I activated the insurance on the 7th of October, they were supposed to give an answer within 7 to 10 working days, but I didn't get any answer, I've already tried to contact by various means and the silence lasts, which is not understandable, since I have exhausted all the possibilities of contacting The only alternative was to resort to this solution and I hope in this way that I have your attention and that you can analyze my situation.

EconomyBookings.com Car rental - they kept my money and didn't give me a car

I paid $1240 USD to rent a car in Portugal. My flight was cancelled due to a storm and I was unable to get to Portugal within 24 hours of the pickup time. Since this was rented through a car rental agency at an airport, I assume they would know how to deal with delayed and cancelled flights. It's part of the business. My flight was delayed and then cancelled several hours after it was supposed to leave, and as soon as I found out, I called Economybookings.com and explained the situation. They told me I had to pick up the car within the time window. What could I do when I am 3000 miles away? I told them to hold the car. It was a 10 day rental, and I told them just hold the car and I'll pick it up a day late and they can keep the money and I'll just have to pay the 10 day rate for a 9 day rental. I thought that was me being fair. After getting off of my rescheduled flight, that was also delayed, I arrived to the airport 1 hour outside of my pickup window. 1 hour late on a 10 day rental. I was told my rental was cancelled and I couldn't have my money back. I had to rent a new car and pay the fee that it costed that day.

My booking was B72917413. There is no customer service number for refunds, so I had to email them. It takes weeks between emails. They requested proof of the flight cancellations and delays. I gathered it all and sent it to them. I waited a few more weeks and they said they would not refund me anything. What was the point of asking for the proof? I provided everything they asked for and continued to write back but they ignored my emails. It has been almost 2 months and still no resolution.

This company kept all of my money and left me without a car. I even called the car company (Alamo) and spoke with them and they said that they work on a voucher system and Economybookings.com did not spend any money with Alamo since the car rental was cancelled. So Alamo received nothing and Economybookings.com just kept all of my money.

Flights are delayed or cancelled all the time. This should be a normal thing for them to work through, while still providing a car. With their business model, they want you to risk all of your money and receive nothing if your flight is delayed or cancelled. I don't understand how you can do business like that. It's not reasonable business model to accept money for car rentals at an airport and then keep all of the money and not provide a car when there is a delayed or cancelled flight.

Desired outcome: I want a refund of my $1240 to my credit card. My money was kept and I was not provided any car or service.

EconomyBookings.com EconomyBookings took my money, but failed to book my rental car.

A very terrible thing happened to my family on October 8 when we arrived at the rental car company (MEX or +MAS)) in Cancun airport area at 5pm. I paid already and showed the rental car voucher. After waiting for 2.5 hours in the rental car company (MEX or +MAS), they rejected us because they said that EconomyBookings don't pay them. The manager of the rental car company is Jonathan Velazquez. He is the one rejected the rental car service.

My family and I ended up having no car and had to arranged our own transportation from Cancun and go to our hotel in Playa del Carmen. We arrived at the hotel at 11pm.

I called EconomyBookings the next day. They said they need 5 to 28 days to do investigation. They received money fast, but did not provide the service.

I purchased Full Coverage through EconomyBookings and unfortunately had an incident which caused a crack in the windshield. As per the claims procedure, I made a payment to the rental company for the damages and placed a reimbursement request to EconomyBookings on 8th August 2022. I received an email response asking for the required documentation on 17th August, which I provided on 22nd August. I have not received any updates or payment from the the claim and it has been 40 business days (the original email response said to allow up to 35 business days).

Desired outcome: Payment for the claim amount of AUD$1705.11

My booking B [protected]. Hi there I’m not happy with you ,The reason is when I went there for pick up the car he didn’t explain me anything and the behaviour of man not good also he can cancelled my booking he can charge 350$ extra money. I already paid all amount you 487.65$ , but you charged me on my card 500$ . Online company make a fool to customer and also one more thing I purchased extra protection with my booking if something happened. I registered complaint against your company according to Canadian Law. How is possible to without gave me car you can charge full amount. If it’s my fault I agreed to pay but booking was cancelled by thrifty employee, and we also took Uber to went Montréal with my family to my place. happy with service of economy booking, the reason is he can charge extra money and he didn’t gave me any car. He dealing with third party and it’s not my fault I agreed to pay but booking was cancelled by thrifty employee, and we also took Uber to went Montréal with my family to my place.

We had an accident in the vehicle in Malta and it cost us 600 euros. I purchased full coverage for these incidents and I expected to be refunded after sending all the evidence and proof. It has been over month and I still did not receive any information about my case. I called them and wrote emails and still without answer.

Desired outcome: Please refund and of course I would like a response.

Hi, I would like to make a formal complaint about the booking above and I require compensation for the booking, it has been a terrible and frankly dangerous experience with Sixt, i will never use this company again.

I have had a problem with the car (flat tyre) where i needed roadside assist (there was no spare tyre in the car!)- I tried calling for over 3 hours and nobody answered and when they did I got disconnected, I am a female alone in Germany and do not speak the language so the situation was dangerous and unacceptable service. I managed to get help to move the car to a safe space from a stranger until the next morning. I tried to call sixt again the next morning, i was on hold for over one hour, and got disconnected, i tried again and after 45 minutes on hold they sent a tow company to pick up the car. They took me to repair garage, when we arrived the garage knew nothing about the car or why it was there, despite the tow company leaving me. I was again left there alone with no information the garage kindly called Sixt who said they were going to call me and send a new car, this did not happen. I waited for over 2 hours at the garage and tried to call and they did not answer, i had to take a taxi to my air bnb. I called Sixt for a replacement car and was again on hold- when i finally spoke with somebody she could not help and “created a ticket” nobody called me that day and have still not returned my call.

I have been without a car now since Wed when the incident happen, I require a refund for this terrible and dangerous service. The company not returning calls, leaving me in a garage alone, i could not work for 1.5 days as i was at the garage and stuck at home!
