Dollar Tree Holding wages

I attended a meeting on aug 12 2011. I stepped into the office with the new Sm and the first thing that was said to me was (I don't have to worry about unloading truck she has someone now) Which I've never made any type of statement to the fact that I was the one there every friday to do so. When I was trying to explain somethings to her she was more then rude. Very uncaring not concerned at all about my issues which made me uneasy if you understand. I felt like I was taking to much of her time. Plus not getting into everything she was already to replace my hours for the following day for a reason she gave that she didn't know if I was going to attend the meeting which didn't even start yet..to me that's very unprofessional. I feel I really was mistreated for reasons that stem back when I had nothing to do with anything. Now I'm out of a job still haven't received my back pay which the district manager seems to be avoiding me as well. I think I deserve some answers. I was a good worker. And I am very hurt and have been depressed over this whole matter. So I hope this will be handled properly and soon.

This is suppose to be a forum to state a matter (and obviously from one persons perspective) of complaint. I had hoped that I might receive some feedback to the matter, but obviously people would rather be rude than offer any kind of advice in this world today. Also, is anyone responding from Canton, Ohio? If you don't live in this city, how can you advise someone to "just get busy finding a job" when you don't understand the economy that I live in? If anyone has a REAL ADVICE to the situation, please reply. If you just want to respond to the original post to be rude or judgmental to a situation you don't understand, STOP WASTING MY TIME WITH YOUR IGNORANT REMARKS.

I'm not sure if I can share everything. But believe me I was the last to find out myself..intill I walk in on it. I just want them to do wants right and pay me what they owe me. I'm not someone looking for a handout believe that. I do believe working for what you have shows great values anymore. I just don't want someone else to go what I'm going through. I'm not trying to cause problems. Just want mine fixed.

I wasn't making the point of me being a good worker. I was trying to say I was treated unfairly for reasons you don't even know. And I never claimed I was fired in my statement. I was never out of place or rude with anyone, I had statements made to me about becoming asst manager. But there you go already making accusations when you don't even know what type of person I am. I need support because you don't even know the type of people I'm dealing with which I thought were my friends. So yes it bothers me, But thankyou so much for your understanding.

to Kevin Ricchards 3, since I do this from my office, I assure you I was neither drunk nor high. Also, I never objected to name calling "on one letter" . I noticed I put an extra c in your name and I apologize and I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me and not hate me. Allright kids, I'm enjoying this way too much so this the end for me. Except for Ellen, I will not comment to anyone about this matter. end

Dear Ellen67, As I'm not a computer whiz, the comments I was referring to dont seem to be available anymore. Certainly telling someone they are wrong nicely is not being rude but there were some mean comments made that I was referring to. I do have to disagree with your general statement that "when someone is in the minority chances are they are wrong" . Think about that for a moment! So if you're a lone dissenter you're automatically or" usually" wrong? Gallileo? Copernicus?, Seward? best wishes

neverpaid, dont listen to these rude idiots. I suggest you write all this down as accurately as you can and send a hard copy to a higher-up. Also someone in H.R. Dont sound confrontational, you get more with sweet than you do with sour. WERE you fired? My state requires immediate payment to terminated emps. If you get no results, contact your state or county Labor board or whatever they call it there and they'll help you. An attorney might not be practical. good luck-Rob Van

Wow, it amazes me how many ignorent people there are in this world. To the igno's who made the comments against "not paid", you must work for corporate. I know what she's talking about. Unless you've experienced these A-holes, you really shouldn't comment. I put my heart and soul into this company. Padded the CEO's pocket on our exceptional work. I was there for over 2 years, keep reading/researching this company, they treat their employees like crapola! I was put on leave for over two months. No reason, they kept me on hold, not allowing me to file for unemployment, then I find out from a fellow worker, she heard I was let go. I never got paid and I'm fighting it. Join one of the class action lawsuits against Dollar Tree. One's in Texas, One in Florida and one in California. There's about to be one in Maryland too. So far we have 15 employees that worked during their breaks, lunch and were forced to work off the clock and never got paid. I understand and wish you what you deserve as well as them. Hang on. Be active. Don't quit. Don't let these jerks get you down. What goes around does come around. They will get there just cause. Remember: No weapon formed against me shall prosper.

Dollar Tree hostile work environment

I'm a former employee. Thanks to everyone who has used this site to voice you're complaints, nice to know there's lots of us out there. I worked for this company for over 2 yrs. In that time I was abused/harassed/mistreated on an almost daily basis. As well as every employee I worked with.Corporate wouldnt listen, the DM (ken), harrassed the female employees, sexually and otherwise and the company did nothing.I went out on medical leave, when I returned, the DM tells the other mngrs., get what you can on her and get her out of here. I knew too much and was a kink to the company.I worked my [censored] off for this company.Loved and cared for the employees and customers as though they were family. For 2 months, they continually told me they hadn't made a decision as to whether I could return to work(see they got wind that they were gonna be held respnsible for my illness and surgery which is why they had to get rid of me).2Months I was in limbo not allowing me to file unemployment and receiving NO income. Then the HR(Travis) threatens the employees not to talk to me or mention my name EVER! or face retaliation. Well, thats what they did to me even though the employee handbook states they can't do that.(footnote:didnt get a handbook until the day before I was put on mystery leave). I worked through my breaks and lunch. Never got a break or lunch break in over 2 years!worked everyday anywhere from 1-8 hrs over my scheduled time, off the clock and was never paid for it. This was required by the DM. They treat the employees and customers like poop. I could write a novel on the horrific way they treat people. If you research, you will see, as I found, this is company policy I guess. I padded Sassers pockets! Thanks for the props.

It has been months since I was fired and I admit that I was never sexually harassed. I just made that up because I was angry at getting fired. I falsely accused Travis of sexual harassment and threatening other employees and none of this happened. I retract my review.

Dollar Tree employee being rude

There is a Employee at the Dollar Tree in Hobbs, New Mexico. Her name is Cindi she is the rudes thing ever. I tried please help me find the clothes soap and all she did was point in the direction of the product. Her nose was too far into her Phone that she couldn't even concentrate on her job. What is it with employees who are getting paid to text and talk on their phone. If I was a boss, that would be grounds for firing! That is and embarrasment to the Dollar tree. I also have several friend who have gone in there and stated the same thing from this woman! Someone need to look into it!

Dollar Tree Restroom use

My wife Trish Booth was told she could not use the restroom because the doors could not lock.Yet the restrooms were locked and she had an emergency and eliminated before she could get next door to a restroom. I am Mike her husband and had to purchase unexpectedly a pair of shorts that were not necessary costing 17.00 dollars.Personally i think this is b s because by law you can not deny a person restroom facilities. We were put off by clerks who said the store could not afford repair on this. I would like this matter resolved to our liking otherwise there will be hell to pay in the form of a lawsuit and money reparations from from Dollar Tree.

I sent my staff to your Rosenberg TX Store #4008 to purchase items to use as marketing. One of my staff came back and reported the discriminatory picture on the Men's restroom door. There is a picture of a black man with the caption stating " Be Honest Don't Shop Lift". If you plan to continue doing business in this area, I would suggest you remove that Picture Immediately or replace it with a multicultural picture. I do plan on contacting the television news station in this area; if this picture remains on your door.

I'm employed by DT and we have certain stores that provide public restrooms, and some that do not. most of the stores that do offer public restrooms, it seems that the women using them are so NASTY!. its like sometimes you want to ask., is that how your treat your restroom at home?, it is despicable to go in the bathroom after some of these women and there is crap all over the seats, paper all over the floors...they would crap on the seats, but then refused to take a second and throw the paper towel they used in the trash can instead they will lay it on the top of the lid. UNBELIEVABLE! i wish i worked in a store that didn't offer public bathrooms. its disgusting.

Are you actually serious? Why would a discount store be legally obligated to provide toilets? As the aabove commenter mentioned, it is very possible that the ttoilets could only be locked from the ooutside. And anyway, if someone walked in on your wife due to the toilets not locking, then you would be threatening to start a lawsuit as well.

Please site the specific law that states "you can not deny a person restroom facilities." I'm asking because there are business everywhere that say they don't have a public restroom, or the restroom is for employees only.

Maybe the doors could not be locked from the inside, just the outside with a key, which would make sense in this case.

I just think its funny when people complain about trash outside the buildings or parking lots of dollar Tree's. Do you all really think that dollar tree employee's are out there tossing their trash all over the place? 99.9% of the time its the customers that drops crap and not pick it up or customers from other surrounding store that don't give a [censored] to pick up their crap that they have dropped. Further more, it is not the employees of dollar tree to pick up trash outside of the building, it is the property owners that hire outside companies to clean the parking lots and/or anything else outside the buildings, just like they hire land scappers to put new bark dust in, trim bushes and tree's.

They have LOUSY customer service via email! Have an internet form one can fill out, add comments, then when 97% complete WILL NOT forward, just keeps looping back for customer info what has been added, checked, rechecked. It's BULL and a waste of time. I'll see if I get a reply by posting my comment here.

Complaint: I am a senior/disabled amputee. I have trouble getting around. Your Princeton INDIANA store NEEDS something. My last 2 visits I wasn't able to purchase even HALF the things on my list. I.E., Your bread shelf carried "onion HB buns." We liked and purchased several times. Now no longer seems available, EVEN when bread truck is parked right out front and driver standing by registers. The last 2 visits the bread truck driver stands gabbing/shooting the bull, with cashiers and managers, while bread shelves are completely empty. I guess to keep from doing his job. I've spoken with the distributor/driver. He says, "cross the street and buy them at WalMart." ($2.78 vs $1.00 ?) He told me that in front of DT management! Lots of time the store does not even have bread on shelf, even when the bread man is there! Beginning to believe DT only sells bread after being on WM shelf too long, like you're selling 3-4 day old WM leftover Wonder breads. We like & buy Veggie sticks, and several other snacks. Princeton store ran out of veggie sticks maybe 3 -4 weeks ago, filled the spot with veggie puffs that are not selling. Sensibility says, "get rid of the puffs and stock what people WERE buying!" They also have way too many "hot" chips, and remain out of other products that sold and customers like me want. Time and characters will soon prevent my elaborating/ranting about other stock shortfalls. Whether it is store mgmt not ordering or headquarters, sending/buying whatever they want, wherever the fault, needs FIXED. Customers EXPECT consistency & dependability. Right now Princeton is failing miserably. I'm hoping overall sales is dropping to prove my point. When I enter with a list of 8 things that I have purchased there in the recent past, and walk out with only 3 (instead of 12-16 from impulse shopping, ) won't be long until I shop elsewhere and totally stop coming to your store, a place where I usually spend upwards of $40-60/month. And above all I don't expect a bread truck driver to get cocky with me because I expect the store to have on hand just exactly what I have purchased there in the past. He has the truck. He KNOWS the item sells well there, then unless we are buying WM's rejects at DT, I EXPECT him to keep the shelves stocked properly, without lipping off to DT's customers! And DT mgmt should be unhappy/peeved when their distributors refer the customer to their competitor! Either keep the same products in stock at all times, or don't sell in the first place, cause all that does is peeve customers off because they come in expecting to buy and if the walk out disappointed, you lost business, sometimes forever. By the way, WHERE is the SEND button? And WHY does iyou site not accept my contact information, and keep looping back? A VERY DISAPPOINTED CUSTOMER!

I shop at this dollar store frequently, i have heard some profanity being used but it was never anything serious, it be like an associate would drop something and S*** would slip out of their mouth, but it was nothing like I exsperenced when I had my 9 year old cousin shopping with me. I was shopping one day with my 9 year old cousin, to get him some toys and such, when i overheard the store manager cussing and yelling at her employees telling them how much of a worthless job they do... i told my little cousin common we'll get you something at another store. This is highly unprofessional and i have not returned to the store since. I tried calling the complaint number but it's always bussy, and you have to leave a voice mail, so I e-mailed dollar tree and have yet to get a response back

I went ino the dollar tree store to get supplies.I was standing in line and the line was very long...The line was going 1/2 way through the store.Aprox. 30 costumers. The sales associate "Amanda" was asked by several costumers to open another register and she said she had several times. A manager by the name of "Mark" was working in the back. At least 5 people left the store due to waiting. One lady with a baby left crying she was so upset. There was another employee who happened to be shopping herself in the line. She got on some speaker and tried to call him up front. " NO SHOW" Then this other girl who was in line... went to the back...then came back up front and the manager Mark followed. He was rude and nasty and instead of opening up a line he went to the balloon section to help someone else who just got there. Finally he opened another line. If it wasn't for the other employee...which I found out her name was :"Shalisa Weisz" But if she hadn't taken control over the situation a lot or people would have left..All of us were thanking her dearly...But I personally think she should be the manager. She wsn't even working at the time and went above and beyond. She is the kind of person you want taking care of you..I know for me..I was extreamly stressed and ready to walk out also and she was reassuring and made me feel better. Knowing she actually works there I will return. Otherwise I was ready to not return and tell friends not to also...Thank You for accepting my complaint...and hopefully that young lady "Shalisa" will get to be a manager.

I have been going to the dollar tree for many years and have never had a problem. Went in yesterday afternoon to purchase a few things. Everything went good, the co-workers were nice and helpful but when arrived home, noticed on receipt that I had been charged for multiple items when I hdad just purchased one. As soon as I saw that, I called & was able to talk to an hopeful manager named Shelby. She told me that she wasn't going to be in the next day but she will leave a note (first & last name) letting the other manager know what happened.
So, I went back to the store & the other manager was present. Told her about what had happened yesterday (not looking too happy to help), continuing the details. Manager started saying that the other manager never told her about the situation but she'll give her a call. After a minute of waiting, manager comes out & says, "she's not answering".
The reason for my complaint is because I feel like the managers should have better communication skills when incidences occur during previous shifts. I had money tooken off my card that I had no intention on spending & the M.O.D. wasn't as hopefully as I thought she could have been.
Love this store but very unhappy with last visit...

Are you *ucking kidding me? If you worked in those stores you would know there is usually no fridge in the back so how do you expect them to keep their drinks cold for 8 and 9 hour shifts? You're the type of person that makes most employees working there hate the clientele. Get a mf life.

My Mom and I went to this store on Sept.19th in the afternoon, not sure of time since we didn't get to purchase anything. I needed to use the restroom first so I went to the back to do so but there was no key to get in. I had an emergency but went to the cashier upfront and asked for the key and she and another cashier said if there wasn't any key in the lock then it had to be stolen. I asked again for help and no one would do anything. So I and my Mom had no choice but to leave. I went to my car and as my Mom got to the door, she heard one woman employee say to a male employee, that's the lady right there going out the door that caused a problem. How dare they? Neither one of us had said anything out of the way. I have a medical condition where when I need to go, it's right now. Can't be helped.I know the employees have to be able to use the restroom, I think they didn't want the public using it but it's always been available before and they didn't say it wasn't.

I buy Crystal Geyser water by the case at Dollar Tree in Hemet, Ca. I went in to shop and was trying to get the cases of water into my cart, which was very heavy. One employee told me he was off work and couldn't help me. He was in line to purchase something. The cashier was the manager of the store, her name is Dineen. She never said a word to me nor did she ask if I needed help. I got the water into my cart, this was my second cart I had to fill. Now with two carts to get out the door I was still not asked if I needed help to my car or out the door. A gentleman that was in line behind me helped with the door. It took me sometime to get the water into my truck which I had to take out of the cases to do. I am very disappointed in the service of the manager and the employee that was off work but still in the store. I am continuously shopping at Dollar Tree and am considering shopping elsewhere because of being disabled I need to shop where there will be help. Please inform the manager that she should do a better job helping others. Thank you

Dollar Tree worst customer service

I've experienced the worst Customer Service ever. I hope that no one else would ecperience this. This will be my last time shopping at Dollar Tree. It doesn't matter if I'm paying a penny or millions of dollat, I deserve to be treated with good customer service. This sale's associate was talking about fighting another girl in the store who was actually a customer also. It was very unprofessional. The associate did not greet me and gave me attitude, she also toss my receipt at me and mugg me. she should be treating all her customer with respect. Dollar Tree has become such a big corporation because of its customer. This upset me sooooo much. I am so mad that I have to experience this. Dollar Tree do not deserve to go out of business just because of one sale associate with poor judgement.

They seem to employee trailer trash. The manager said that she would not return defective merchandise that Dollar Tree sold me. I had the receipt, packaging, and items. She accused me of lying, admitted that she puts damaged merchandise back on the shelf for someone else to buy, accused me of defrauding the company, and was very rude to me. The store's policy is to exchange merchandise for any reason, she did not follow their policy. Also the store says that they sell "quality merchandise" even though they sold me scented oil plugins that did not work. The manager said that it's a dollar store, you have to expect defective merchandise and there was nothing she could do. We were not nasty to her or any other employees, this hatred for us came out of nowhere. When we left the store another employee gave us looks and grunted at us in a disapproving manner when she had no idea what was going on, she had been at the other end of the store. Rudeness seems to be a nationwide epidemic. It seemed the employees were just looking to cause a fight.

everyone is entitled to a raise with dollar tree. you need to speak with your district manager and find out why your not getting an evaluation. you must be employed for atleast 1 year to be eligible for your raise. talk to your DM, if you have no luck, go up the ladder to your Regional Director which would be next on the chain of command. good luck to you

I am employed by Dollar Tree and Deal's, they do have a toll free number to reach them.., i can assure you it isnt a scam. there are people that are honest hard working employees who would appreciate not being thrown in the category of being a cheat or a scammer. i think you should think before you speak.

Dollar Tree bad management

My fiance and myself made a quick stop to Dollar Tree prior to heading to Wal-Mart on 6/5/11 and from the moment we walked into the store the Manager (Doug) was so rude and obnoxious with an employee that it made me actually cry to see the employee (Stephanie) be belittled the way she was. He was asking her questions and pretty much making comments that should not be heard by customers over the intercom. There were a couple of the customers laughing and I just could not understand why. I had my fiance relay a message to her that Subway was hiring as I had been the day before for dinner. He told her that she did not have to put up with such abuse and she said her manager (Doug) was always that way and that she did not plan on being employed there much longer. I was going to keep quiet and just make a complaint on line but he went to the extent of asking me if I would like to hire a maid for $20.00 and that it would take her two hours to vacuum my floors. I failed to find this amusing as he had been making jokes at the employees expense with other customers in line ahead of me. I know that he could tell that I was understandably upset and when I did not laugh at his question; he asked me what was wrong. This gave me the opportunity to answer his question. I told him that since the moment I walked into the store that he had been belittling and berating the employee and it was just sad to see that this happens in America today. He began to tell me that she was a very slow employee and stopped him before he could go on and explained to him that this is should be something that should have been addressed with her in private; not over the intercom where all of the customers could hear and that he was being very inappropriate. He did not say another word and I know he realized how inappropriate his actions had been. She was up front at this point unpacking boxes and she kept her head down. I told her that I was sorry that she had to work under that type of management and that I would make a complaint on her behalf as an employee as well as on my behalf as a consumer. If you have any questions or would like details of the types of remarks he made over the intercom which totaled about 5 times in the 15 minutes it took me to select the items I purchased; please feel free to call me at [protected] or you can reach me by e-mail at [protected]@sacu.com

thanks

Dollar Tree mismanagement

My husband has worked there for almost 4+ years. A customer lost money in the store and management told my husband that if the money wasn't found, he would be paying it back with his paycheck. Then he went on vacation and when he returned the manager didn't enter his vacation time so we had to wait until the next pay period and then they still said it wasn't ready so he made them do a cash payout. Now two weeks later, they say that he's no longer in the system and he got no paycheck at all even though they processed the two weeks worth of work that he did. They are telling him that it might be ready for him on Monday. He has to take 95% of the night shifts and never gets a day shift. He gave up a day off to work for someone who was sick last Monday. He shows up every day, does his job and cleans up messes that everyone else makes and they treat him poorly.

Dollar Tree personnal cell calls by employees

On April 3r, 2011 I was at the store purchasing about 15 items and there was only one cashier line open. When I asked if another clerk was going to open, she (Liz sales associate) proceed to tell as soon as she got off the phone. By the sound of conversation it did not seem she was on a business and I did asked her but she just wave me off then I mention that I would call the manager only then she said to the person that she would call later. I wish I could e-mail the company because this is not first time. No longer a customer of Dollar Tree!

Dollar Tree Abusive manager

I'm just going to submit a copy of the complaint I just sent to The Dollar Tree. If possible, I will update this with any news.

I have discovered something very troubling at the Dollar Tree store at the following location:

Red Mill Commons - Store #1750
1157 Nimmo Parkway
Suite 102
Virginia Beach, VA 23456

The manager at this store, who I have identified as Barbara McCree, is consistently such a storm cloud that the customers avoid her. She is usually found in a corner of the store somewhere, with no one anywhere near her. I've never seen a smile from anyone who works there, and I am under the impression it is because she makes them miserable.

On a recent occasion, with half a dozen people in the check out line, this manager was called to the register and began screaming at the young lady working the register because the young lady in question asked her how to deposit the money from the register to the bank.

Most of the people in the line, and several others throughout the store walked out immediately, I think a few of them may have walked out with the merchandise they had intended to purchase. A couple even stayed long enough to comfort the clerk who was being abused.

I did a little searching, and it turns out the young lady who Barbara screamed at was halfway through her first day on the job, and had never made a deposit before. As it turns out, she quit the following day. I even know her name, Kimber Torres

This is an example of harassment, and I consider it unacceptable, not to mention legally questionable. This kind of thing leaves the Dollar Tree open to all kinds of legal liability. I will not be shopping at that location anymore, but I will be stopping by now and then to check on the status of your wayward employee.

Thank you for your time, I am confident that the behaviour of Barbara McCree will be handled appropriately.

On May 29, 2009 I took my children shopping at the local Dollar Tree. I always shop at this store and drive out of my way to get there. While walking down an isle my 7 year old son took a pair of socks off of there hook then replaced them on a shelf where they didn't belong. All of the sudden I heard a lady yelling at him to return the socks to there proper place. I instructed the lady to not speak to my child. If there was a problem then she could address me. The employee began yelling at me ( curse words included). I picked up the socks and handed them back to lady. The Employee then took the socks and threw them at me. I was assulted by a pair of socks! I demanded to see the store manager and in my disbelief the women told me that she was the manager! This is an out rage. I know that there are hundreds if not thousands of people that go into that store every day and put things back in the wrong place. Why would you be so negative to a child? I will never return to this store again and have filed a complaint at the local police office .

While yelling at an employee, especially in front of customers or co-workers, is not good management style, I fail to see how it opens the company to any type of legal liability. Unless, of coarse, the manager used any of the "magic" words that could be defined as hate speech.

I work at a Dollar Tree and I am an assistant Manager and deposits are made in the middle of the day also. Don't matter what happened there the manager should never ever correct an employee in front of customers that is just very unprofessional and if you can't handle that maybe your not cut out to be a Manager period. I am glad that people speak up and tell what is going on because I work at a Store where the Store Manager s very rude herself and shady? Not following company policy, treating cashiers very bad and just doing what ever she pleases I have talked to the DM about this but still have yet to find out what is going to happen to her? It's all politics if you ask me it s not who you know it's who you blow and people rater turn their head instead of doing the right thing and complaining !

She asked how to take a deposit to the bank when she had a long line? What an idiot. Maybe the manager snapped because she was being an idiot all day. Deposits are done before the store opens or at night right after they close. Why was she thinking about a deposit in the middle of the day while she was supposed to be cashing out a long line of customers? I highly doubt your complaint is even going to get a response because its obvious you know this girl and that why you're upset about it. There's not enough people in dollar tree and someone incompetent like her will only hinder the store so I'm glad she quit.

There are always two sides to the story. However, if this person actually threw the socks back and responded as rudely as was described, then yes it was uncalled for. But parents need to watch their kids and quit letting them get away with doing whatever they want in the store. I am an assistant manager at a Dollar Tree and I typically stay silent and just clean up after the mess and my silence seems to make the parents feel worse about the situation. Either way, watch your kid. And no matter the situation, customer service is first. She handled that wrong. Like I said, there are always two sides to the story. Parents often exaggerate situations that involve their children.

I would find out the corporate headquarters complaint line phone number and call and complain about what transpired. No employee should do what she did. dont let her get away with it. If customers or employees dont complain about bad managers, nothing will ever be resolved and the manager will continue to get away with bad behavior like that. I hope you called and complained. And please dont let one bad apple drive you away from a place you enjoy shopping. I will go 25 miles north to another Dollar Tree.

Dollar Tree store nasty and store personnel nasty

This store is atrocious. As well as the workers there. This store is one of the nastiest looking stores I have ever been too. Inside there is dirt encrusted everywhere. On the shelves where the items are at there are layers of dirt so that when you go to pick up the item that you are wanting your hand gets dirty. The inside of the coolers where the food is at stinks and it is dirty also. The bathrooms can only be accessed by a key and those are the worst parts of it. There is never any toilet paper and the floors, walls, sinks and toilets are dirty. The toilets often have urine on the seat even in the womens restroom. One time I went and there was feces smeared on the mirror and the wall. I have complained about this several times and just received the response "thats just how it is here, no one ever cleans up." The workers have the worst attitudes. The minute you walk in it's like you are walking into a battle zone. They all look at you with scowls on their faces and one time I was walking past two hispanic workers (I'm white) and I heard the one say to the other "white devil." I just walked past and ignored it. There is also a couple there dating. One day I witnessed them in an isle making out and the guy had his hand up the girls shirt and the girl was rubbing the guys crotch, in plain view in the middle of the store! No one seemed to care. The only reason I go to that store is because they do actually have some good things there for cheap. But I have never ever seen or experienced a store worse than this Dollar Tree on San Bernardo Ave. in Laredo, Tx. That entire crew needs to be fired.

123321, Actually the reason why the restrooms are locked is not because they are not obligated to let customers use it. It is because we live directly on the Mexican border and they don't want illegals using the bathroom to wash up in (like they could) and also they say it is to prevent theft. Even if the restroom was only for the employees use why is that an excuse for it to be that nasty. Now yes, I could go to another store. But I don't live in a huge town. I live in a small border town. So no, there are not that many to choose from. Most places in this town are pretty dirty. So don't talk to me about pride. I have pride. I am proud to live where I live because the reason I am here is for a noble reason.

My sister and I was at the Dollar Tree Store 7/6/09 we had many items because we love that store . No one was at the cash register to check us out, there was a couple people behind us. After about 5 minutes I said Could someone check us out please. And this very rude employee says loudy "When I get over there I will." And she took her time .Everyone behind us was conmenting on how rude she was. When I got home I called the manager and his response was " I know I heard her ... she was blowing up balloons". I said Well ok I guess thats how you treat your customers too have a nice day. I was so shocked not only me and my sister but when a couple ladys behind us were shocked also. I can believe any store would treat people like that. I love the store but the employees need to atlest be cnoutious... not to much to ask.

I agree the new Mooresville, NC BK used to be so nice, the employees were clean and friendly. So much has changed. I would call it fraud. We were charged more than the menu prices. The employees have a complacent attitude. The counter person during the day has a nasty attitude. The manager could care less, never smiles. We will not patronize this or other restaurants again. I notice the number of customers have dropped substantially. Rudeness seems to be a nationwide epidemic.

I was there every truck to unload then stock then they would send me home after only working for two hours..cause after they were done using me they sent me home. My paychecks was being cut which still they have yet to remberce me. I seen alot of things that was not well you know. And now I'm being treated as if I didn't even exist. So if anyone knows how I can get the money owed to me that would be of great help.

This is because there's a ton of people who come in at 10 minutes to closing and figure because they're in the store that they can shop as long as they want. It doesn't sound like they were being rude from what you're saying, just informing you that they were closing. Stop being a self absorbed prude, you're not the only one with a bad day.

I worked at a Dollar Tree awhile ago, it was, no question, the very WORST job I have ever had in my life. They expect you to bust yourself for minimum wage and do the work of two or three people while the head office cuts corners by putting as few employees as possible in the stores. Do this, do that, blow up balloons, help stock, clean the store and at one time the one I worked in was very busy. Lately it hasn't been though. The manager was a piece of work, too, I wonder if she's gotten a DUI yet? Hmmmmm. I used to smell alcohol on her breath! Crappy cheap Chinese made merchandise that breaks as soon as you use it, smaller size name brand products (like people won't notice) no cash refunds, etc. I'm glad to be out of there, it simply was not worth it to work at the cheap-### junky store.

No, the cashier could have handled that WAY differently. It doesn't matter what job duties one has -- customer service is first. I'm in the same boat and it can get terribly busy at the store so there is never a time you will catch me sitting on my butt "resting". Sacrifices are made when it's out of our control (shorter hours, less employees working per shift, etc.), but we certainly can control our attitudes. No matter how bad it gets! Geez, people make it sound like the work is difficult. Yes, customers can make the job difficult, but it's obvious this associate isn't able to multi-task or manage time very well (or people for that matter). Then again, who knows what really happened. Move on, don't shop there. Spread the word to friends and family. Done.

I am a former dollar tree employee, and I completely disagree with what you are saying. Selling products for one dollar or less each, the company does not make very much money off of each product it sells. Therefore, most stores only have enough hours to pay one cashier for opening, mid-day, and closing shifts, along with one manager. Most of the time, there are only two employees in the store. This is an issue for Dollar Tree stores across the U.S. As the only cashier on a busy day, I have been in the same position as the cashier you described many times and I do my best to help all customers out. However, single-handed, I can only do so much. Put yourself in the cashier's shoes. Can you fill up ballons, run the register, answer the phone, watch the floor, etc. all at the same time without any inconvenience to the customer ALL BY YOURSELF? For the great deal you are getting, the company must sacrifice something. That is the good customer service that customers deserve, unfortunately. You don't like the customer service? Go to Safeway, Longs, Walgreens, etc., pay three times a much, and you will get the customer service that you long for.

Shopping at Dollar Tree on Hwy 124 in Snellville.Geogia..I observed the assistant manager being rude and patronize to a customer..The cashier didn't comprehend that he was suppose to give a customer back cash..After it had been debited from her account.Farther more, A young gentleman came into to talk to the manager about a job..The assistant manager and cashier was not only rude to this young gentleman..They were also condescending towards him..What I observed..these peoples action was racist and discriminatory. If I had the money..I would have walked up to this young gentleman..offered to pay for a lawyer ..If he wanted to file a lawsuit against this Dollar Tree.I wonder..if this happen because this young gentleman was white and gay. With these types of employee's it is just a matter of time I think before something like this happens to Dollar Tree.

Most people do not realize that a lot, if not most, of expense is paid out in salaries. Dollar Tree minimizes the number of employees on duty. They are a 'no frills' store. That's one of the ways to keep the cost down. I am an employee, and understand that those who help after they have 'clocked out' do so out of the goodness of their own heart. If anything would happen during that assistance (injury, etc.) they are on their own. When we are 'clocked out' on breaks or at the end of the shift, Dollar Tree is not responsible for any mishaps. If you check, most stores follow this same policy. The difference is that most other stores have more than two employees on and there is someone who can assist.

Did he "spell" as bad as you "smell"? You know you can call the customer line after you confront him with this issue and he doesn't take care of it, right? There IS policy on cleanliness but I have not seen it enforced at any store. You're right, just don't shop there.

Stealth: I think the bathroom was probably closed because people had been vandalizing it, and they don't want more people vandalizing it. Where I work, we had to put locks on the bathroom doors and we have to let people in when they ask because last summer, some kids kept coming in and putting pockets-full of rocks down the toilets.

Dollar Tree music

I have always loved going into the Dollar tree in Cortez. My mom gets a kick out of me for the reason I love the music they play. It was always hip and up beat not to loud but uplifting. I would dance and sing to myself. I hate going to Wal Mart because it was so inpersonal. Lately when I go to the store it is gloomy no music it just feels dead in there. What has happened? Your store is no longer uplifting. Is your manager a stick in the mud? What happen to the life in there? Not to mention you can hear the conversations of other people in there it is so quite, to much info on people you dont want to hear. You should really check into it. Your store was so much better in years past. I miss it. Could you please see what happened?!

Dollar Tree poor management

i am a frequent customer at this paticular location been shopping there for years when the other day i observed a manager being real nasty with a cashier, that cashier rang me up plenty of times and was friendly and social everytime i went threw her line the way that manager belittled that poor girl in front of the entire store was uncalled for i feel as though that cashier would make a better manager then the so called manager who was on that is supposed to be setting a good example for other employees the name on that managers name tag read bess. I feel that the way that so called manager handled that situation was very rude and uncalled for and quite frankly bad for business.

Dollar Tree refusal to give refund or credit

I was in this store on Nov. 5th and purchases 2 door mats. I called on the next day, Nov. 6th and reported that I had left the mats in the store. The cashier, April, said she remembered me being in the store but there was nothing she could do. I gave April one of the mats for her to scan the price. I don't know if she gave the mat to me or not. However, both of them was left in the store. She let me speak to the manger, Rob McCaferty. He siad that he could not do anything about that because the cashier said she gave the mat back to me. Well there have been ocassion in which I have gone to Walmart and grocery store and they took may word for not getting what I paid for. I think it is a bit rediculus when you go in a store, pay for an item and it is still in the store and you are not give a refund or credit. It not the price, but the rudeness of the manager that was uncalled for. The policy needs to be changed because other stores don't operate under the premise if the cashier put it in your hands, then they are not responsible. What about good customer service! He did not apologize!

It very much could have been your fault. I have worked at several stores where we were not permitted to provide credits for items left that have not been found.

You stated that you don't know if she gave you the mat back or not after you handed one to her to have it scanned. Yet, in the very next sentence, you state that both mats were left in the store. How accurate can you be in stating that when you can't even remember if she gave you the mat back or not after it was scanned?

Dollar Tree foul and vulgar language on job

I happened to be in the area, needed some things, and visited your dumfries store, I encounted two female at work and one off-work male employee, the male and one female were in an aisle, in a private personnel conversation, to the point of a customer needing help at the check-out, the one female told the other, go help ring-up the sale, in which she responsed very loud, why she had to get on the register, as she was using her personnel phone.
Moving through the store, the female who I did'nt see at the time, was doing re-stock, and this same male who was still there, engaged themselves in a conversation, that was loud, and vulgar. None of these employee were being mindful of customer service at all. Nor of their professional attitude of their job. From what I heard, the male address her as Carol. At this point I really had no interest in shopping there. I mostly shop at the Woodbridge store, or Lorton store.
