At store #4858 in Santa Maria, CA, when I went to check out there was no one at any of the registers. It took several minutes for someone to notice me standing there (I could've just walked out with a cartload if I wanted to), and he just said "Oh" and walked off. Several minutes after THAT, a girl came out to check out my items (other people were behind me by that point) but she was talking on her phone for the first part of the transaction, and kept chewing on her fingernails and putting her fingers in her mouth throughout. I didn't want to touch anything after her.
This seems to be a trend at the Santa Maria and Orcutt stores, as at the Orcutt store there is one employee who is very loud and yells constantly - often things that make no sense whatsoever, just random segments of thought he's decided the entire store needs to know - and a girl who is always yelling on her phone, including a great deal of swearing and personal information that no one wants to know.
Threaten to write me up about a 10 minute break.
I'm employed at the dollar tree on 8330 Pineville Matthews rd. I been a cashier for about less then 2 years. There have been a lot of changes in the store lately. Before bringing in a new Manager I use to take my 10 minute break around a half n hour before my shift end or whenever there's not a lot of people In line to be cashed out. I was always told that our customers come first. Some times I would skip my break just for the customers. One day a new asst Manager told me to take my break halfway thru my shift and I was explaining to her what time I usually take my break. She told me to go now, so I did. The next time I seen my new manager she threatened to write me up If I don't take my break when they tell me to. I said to her what happens if my line has a lot of customers in my line, can I skip my break. Her answer was that If you skip your break you will still get written up. They same night I put my 2 weeks in to leave the company. I always did my job very well. I always did more then My share. I always made the most money for the company. They never ever told me thinks for all the hard work I did.
Desired outcome: I put my 2 weeks resignation in.

I Michelle Shelton is a customer who comes to the store to shop and mrs Sander the boss lady always picks on me when I come to the store to shop I think that's she is racist because I am black. She does this every time I come in the store and she is very rude and she always has a nasty dirty mouth and attitude toward me every time I come tlin the store to shop I think she need to be removed from the dollors tree on east harding and there should be another boss person in place of her instead this is a ongoing thing I can't even shop without her picking on me or mouthing off at me with a nasty attitude
restroom denied

My name is Terry Ivery and I like to address the issue of not allowing to use the restroom within a certain location. I have a medical condition and I would have to urinate often. However, I was denied restroom access in speaking with the manager on the issues at two of the Memphis TN locations of Dollar Tree. In both locations, the manager was very rude. Overcharging items purchased
Dollar Tree in Lexington, KY off Mapleleaf Dr. I bought 7 items, was charged for 8. Manager wanted to Count the items in my bag to "make sure" I wasn't overcharged. She then proceeded to tell me she could not give me my money back because there was no way in their system to process the return. So, what does that mean? Dollar Tree is just going to steal my money when it clearly was their fault? That's not right. She said the only way was for me to pick out another item in the store. The problem is the Principle of the matter. If it's your company's fault for overcharging, give us our money back! Period.
Desired outcome: Dollar Tree needs to allow refunds for cases when their cashiers overcharge customers.
Open products and very poor Customer Service
I have been to this Dollar Tree store several times, and each it has filthy and nasty. There are always merchandise, boxes, and debris strewn all over, and down thru the aisles. I haven’t seen it decent, clean, and the shelves stacked with products. The staff is not helpful and at times unhelpful. The trash could cause accidents and certainly create a serious hazard for the customers, and I’m sure a liability on your part.
I know this is a poor and perhaps disenfranchised neighborhood, but this store should snd could do better. They represent your company. Please get them to do better.

Desired outcome: A clean decent place to shop, without the risk of potential hazards. Maybe friendlier employees. Especially the ones with attitude.
Bad management/unprofessionalism toward customers & associates
As an associate at Dollar tree, I treat everyone, coworkers and customers alike with respect and one would expect the same in return. At this store the manager shows most, not all customers and only a few associates & as she calls them, Sister Managers respect. I cannot count how many times she has walked by and began yelling at me for doing exactly what she had told me to do. and not just yelling but slapping the products on the pegs in front of customers and coworkers. I find that embarrassing and humiliating. Two weeks ago, the mayor's wife had come into the store, I clocked out for my 10-minute break, and she was walking out the door with me (you see because we go to church together) and she (the manager) asked me real loudly "Did you clock out?" I said "Yes." and she hollered, "Correctly? Did you clock out correctly?" and I said "Yes." Needless to say, the mayor's wife was shocked by the way she was speaking to me and said she thought that she would have to call someone to tell them about this and that she was going to talk to her husband about her. I also witnessed her telling someone that she will not hire him, yet he is a hard worker and had all the skills needed to perform the projected duties on hand, and a few minutes later telling me that she would have a serious problem with him. From where I was standing and what I heard, she did not hire him simply because he politely stood up to her and did not tolerate her rude behavior and senseless bullying. I was told when I started working in December 2022, that there were absolutely no hats to be worn at work. No exceptions. Yet she lets a male associate wear his hat all day and also a large septum piercing. She will talk with him, joke and laugh, then becomes rude to other employees including myself. She wears a scowl and has an angry temperament all day and if I ask her a question, she either gets upset or becomes extremely sarcastic. Making a person feel bad. She makes it hard to be productive and makes employees & customers want to never return to the store. If I ask the manager on duty a question, she immediately runs to the manager and wants to know what we said or asks what it is that we wanted. In turn making the manager on duty feel incompetent.
I tried talking to her about the way she treats me, but it has done no good. She just becomes more belligerent, and her bullying of employees is getting even worse. On Tuesday last week she screamed at a new employee in front of two full lines of customers, I thought the young girl was going to cry. That is how mean she spoke to the girl. And I leave this for last because I feel so violated when I have to ask her if I may use the restroom and she gets so upset that she felt it is necessary to only give the managers and assistant manager a key to the customer restroom as well as employee restroom. And that we need a chaperone to take us to the restroom or we have to wait by the restroom door for someone to let us in to go to the bathroom. We are all adults that work here and should not have to ask permission to be let into and use the bathroom.
Desired outcome: What I would like to see done, is the manager in question have to take a skilled class in business management, anger management and a people skill class (how to deal with the public as a store manager).
Girl claimed she the manager very rude, loud and direpectable
3/2810am. went down aisle had boxes everywhere, no one was working in aisle, I moved 2/3 boxes with my foot to clear the aisle moved along my cart, ran into another box pushed aside, all of a sudden this very loud very disrespectful woman said “don’t you see this aisle is blocked” No sign posted. Blocked me in aisle, yelled LEAVE. I ignored her
Desired outcome: She continued to talk loud I left 3 ppl in line, moving slow, I couldn’t continue to deal with her behavior. Needs training customer service and how to talk to ppl, should be fired. Her mannerisms where like street person
Managers in love with lazy, racist, lying, suing, employee Rocky H.
Employee Rocky Hanna quit this job in 2021 and pretended to have sued dollar tree for past years incident where dollar tree provided her medical care. At 9:20Am on March 19th, 2023, I went into the store and saw two male employee at a back wall and I say to them, " Good Morning, gentlemen".. to which only 1 spoke back. I shrugged it off as maybe he has headphones in and continue to do my shopping. I get to the registers it is one of the guys that was at the back wall was my cashier. So again, I say my salutations, only to be tole, I can sit my stuff down as he types on his phone. So, I try again, good morning, and this time with irritation in his voice and steady texting away on his phone, he says, you can put your stuff down. I let him know that is rude and very unprofessional not to speak to Customers. He doesn't say a word as he checks my thing out.. I was flabbergasted and appalled at this happened and the store hadn't even been open 30mins. I also asked why so nasty attitude and he said because customer has been mean to him he does not interact with customers... AS a person that is hired to be in customer services this was absolute absurd to me.
Desired outcome: reprimand as this is not acceptable dealing with the public or with customer services.
Customer service was horrible
The receipt says it was Clayton that was my misfortune to have as a cashier, store number 6694. Had to ask for a bag, he said the item wouldn't fit. I grabbed a bag and bagged the items because they did fit prior to that he was bragging about how he enjoys putting customers in their place that he wasn't going
To go out of his way to assist them. I go in this location all the time and I've never felt so disrespected as a customer. If I go in there again and he is the only cashier there I will turn around and shop somewhere else.
Desired outcome: I'd prefer he not worked there anymore because he does not serve your store in a positive light , at minimum he needs to go back into training for customer service skills as he clearly needs assistance with that!

Date 3/13/2023 approximately 6: 00 pm
1. The garbage bin at the entrance to the store was over loaded with garbage bursting through the top and on hte ground and small bags.
2. I informed the store manager who sid it would be removed on the following day and that she did not remove garbage. I pointed out that it it was a health and safety violation and asked could another employee get gloves . The manger said it was not hurting anything an removal every other day was normally enough. I was surprised by this unusual statement about commercial sanitation laws.
3 The manager then told me she would decline my sale and to leave.
I told the manager I would report her to the company and health department. I asked the manger for her name, job title and how to contact Dollar Tree to report her.
4. The manger refused to provide that information. She called me names,
used profanity and yelled at me to leave HER store.
The manger had shoulder length brown auburn hair, with average height and a slim or average figure. She did not provide her name or title.
5. This poor customer service and lack of attention to sanitation is very disturbing to encounter at a retail business. The manager should have more skill in meeting the public and conducting retail enterprise and dealing with public safety.
Desired outcome: Retrain the manager for customer service focus and personal boundaries. Review sanitation procedures. Hire a new manger

My store manager smokes and sniffs Meth at work and is under the influence 24 hours and I refuse any longer work for a lunatic incapable of making decisions slaving the staff just because she is full of energy while she abuse drugs at work. The store manager stop giving me hours and won’t put me on the schedule again after I asked for a transfer to another store close to my home.
I worked 2 days and was being sexually harassed by the drunks from the next door bar the whole shift and I was working the from alone. In a bad neighborhood and decided to go back to my store. Because I know her secrets she discriminated against me and won’t give me my job back.

Racist communication and drug use and passing around by staff
To whom it may concern,
Was in your store (7542) tonight and heard lots of cursing and racist names being thrown out and thought it was bad customers, but it was the employees. Could hear though the store as there were children in there. When got to the checkout we in line had to wait why the person at the register had to give the other employee drug paraphernalia, so he and the security guard, and the manager Christina went outside to use it. Then when the clerk started helping, they came back in because they needed a tool to clean the drug paraphernalia. We in line had to wait again for them to look around for a flat head screwdriver or a coat hanger to clean the equipment. Is this the normal for DOLLAR TREE staff? The staff and the checkout area smelled of weed and thought maybe another customer, but it is the staff. There was a customer that was in line before us that knew the staff and was dropping racist terms with each other. His female companies came in as well asking about screwdriver to clean the equipment. He walked into the manager area with Christina looking for keys or screwdriver to clean the drug equipment. It was a learn experience to learn about how much drugs they need to use a day and how the security guy, talked about what took off a homeless person and they could use.
Not a prude but this is at 19:15 and your store is open with kids and elder people in shopping. This is your standards for your store because saw as I left the staff member, manager and security passing the drugs around next to your building.

Desired outcome: Clean up your store all the staff had drugs, even the independent security guard. Children were in there and now my clothes smell or weed because i shopped at your store.
I work at dollar tree in Minnesota and the managers, employees and customers have used racial slurs at cashier. Managers and corporate do not care about racism or drug use even though dollar tree states they are drug free company. Its all [censored]! this Dollar tree is racist and protects "favorites" as they allow racism and drug use even manager drinking alcohol at work! No write ups or firing for managers when intoxicated, or stoned from marijuana. My manager Jessica Mejia smokes pot outside in back side of the building smelling of strong marijuana. And if she is not smoking pot she brings shots of liquor, (those tiny bottles) she brags and shares this with other managers! Corporate is aware and they IGNORE managers behavior to protect their business! Corporate loves and cares only about money, making profits, not people who are put in charge of stores! Employees here are replaceable, not the managers who are doped up and under influence while on the clock working! Even with evidence provided and many complaints to corperate, they still refuse to fire managers drinking and passing around drugs to each other. Dollar Tree is unprofessional, racist, ignorant! Shame on dollar tree! Corporate never cares ever! They believe they are Gods and everyone else is slaves, and that is exactly how they are! Managers get job security no matter their shameful illegal behavior! I've seen this now for last 5 years. Manager still smells of liquor and her slides speech and dizzy walking and sleeping in office, super lazy little girl who acts as manager!

In Issaquah dollar tree no severice on the floor they are either doing the cashier or back room I am very disappointed with the severice on the floor top shelf to the second high shelf and etc...also mangers accusing people in general of stealing before it happens they say keep an eye out in case of stealing Lynette and Alexis do that all the time.
