Dollar Tree

I shopped at Store #8291 at 11974 Lebanon Road in Sharonville Ohio today. I was finally checked out at 11:27 AM. Although I did not see any employees stocking shelves, almost every aisle was blocked by large carts with unopened boxes on them. I used the bathroom, which had a sign on the door that indicated it was for use by people of all sexes. The door did not lock properly and a female opened the door while I was using the toilet. I am male. I believe she was an employee as she used the adjacent door from which I heard a toilet flush.

There was a long line at the checkout with only one lane open. When I finally reached the register I sympathized with the cashier. She indicated that there were several other employees there that knew how to run a register but they wouldn't help her. She further indicated that she was giving her two weeks' notice today. The receipt says her name is Mary.

I am a retired retail manager and know that this is no way to operate a store. I also realize that hiring help today is quite a challenge. When you are able to hire an employee they need to be trained properly and treated fairly. I felt bad for Mary - if that is her real name or just who was signed into the register. I believe some attention needs to be paid to this store and to the cashier.
