I have been receiving relentless calls from cell c since September last year claiming that my account is outstanding. I have not had a cell c contract for many years. I went into the store at Menlyn Maine years ago and informed them that I did not wish to continue my contract when it ended. Since I received no statement or calls since then until September last year, I assumed this was done.
Every time I receive a call, the amount is increased and my credit record is being impacted. I
keep asking them to send me a statement for the last few years so I can see how I suddenly
now have a contract after years. The amount is nowhere near what it would have been had I
not paid for years which I haven’t because the account is closed.
I have sent numerous emails querying why I was being called and have called asking to speak
to a manager. They are either not available or will call me back. My emails have not been responded to except the automatic response. A lady called me today and then slammed the phone in my ear because I couldn’t remember which bank account I had used years ago when I was a client of theirs.
Desired outcome: They need to clear the balance and send me confirmation in writing that this is done andthat I have no contract with them and clear my credit record.

Contract deal cancellation
I had two contract delas from cell 2020 January.. and Jan 2021 due to covid I failed making payments. When I got the job I settled my account in 2022 October that accumulated to + 6000 more... Then I recited a message that I was in arrears. I asked them why they said I did not cancel the contract. I informed them that I don't even have the Sim cards and ther was no data that I was receiving since I stopped paying. The consultant was very rude and she said you could. have read the fine lines at the bottom. Fine as furious I was I went straight to the branch in walmer... the friendly consultant assisted me and she advised me to pat the commitment fee which they said it was the arrears, then call the cell c consultants at the branch and cancel both contracts. I payed an amouht of R466 and spoke to a consultant to cancel both contracts with immediate effect. We had an argument with the consultant but eventually we agreed on the cancelation. That was in Nov 14th 2022. January 2023 I receive a call saying I'm. jn arrears, Inform them of my status in this matter they refer me to a consultant who asked me five question that I struggled to pass because, I have rwl9cated so many times and also. I was not sure which address I used and some of the information. They said They can't help me. SO WENT BACK TO THE BRANCH TO SORT THIS THE SECOND TIME. the consultant agreed that we did cancel the contract and I payed everything. So she put Me through the consultant again. The consultant said she see that the one contract phone was no canceled. I ASKED WHY, she said she doesn't know, but that has accumulated to that amount. I told her I can't be paying for something. I canceled a month go. Then she said she will check again, she came back saying these arrears are from the previous amount I was suppose to settle... of which I settled. I asked how can I have arrears on the amount I fully payed for. The consultant was confused and she said she will lodge an jnvestigation upon my matter. It will take 48 hrs. 48 hours have passed into five days and the debt has accumulated into double the amount.
I have using Cellc contract for the longest time. I'm so dissapointed in your service. All I want is to cancel my account... and clear credit record... because I don't owe cell c anything.

Arrear account
After my initial complaint to yourselves on 16 November 2022, I was contacted by Mandy Ramela, a contractor. I must give her credit because she was in contact with me on a weekly basis to check and see whether Cell C has brought my account up to date.
I informed her on 14 December 2022, that I have yet again received a statement from Cell C, reflecting an arrear amount for 3 months. She advised me that sometimes it will reflect the arrear amount but in fact when she checked with the accounts department they assured her that it had a nil balance. She also advised me to check on my App as it will reflect a nil balance on my Cell C App. When I checked on the App it still reflected an arrear balance. She then advised me to go to the Cell C Store to get a print out but I advised her that it will not be possible for me to go to a Store as it is festive season and I had too much to do.
I then received the statement for January 2023 and it reflected now 4 months in arrears. The debit order did not go off on the 10th, so I then did an EFT and sent Cell C proof of payment. I also advised Mandy by email but to date I have received no response (I assume she must either be on vacation or she had left the company).
So, here I am again back to square one, no resolution in sight. In the meantime, Cell C send sms messages threatening to disconnect! I am really so fed up with this company and cannot wait for this contract to end. Because of their negligence I now have a bad credit record as well!
Are there any competent people working at Cell C? It seems that a simple account problem they created cannot be fixed and then they make out I am the villain.
Can somebody please give urgent attention to this nightmare that just does not want to go away?

Hi, I received a phonecall from Phumzile on Tuesday, 24 January 2023, ref. [protected], that she will look into the matter and revert asap.
It's Friday, 27 January 2023, and no response from her.
In the meantime I have received an SMS from Cell C urging me to make payment or services will be suspended.
I cannot believe that this simple matter cannot be resolved amicably.

Never join cellc! Their service and communication is absolutely pathetic!
I received no income through my business in Dec, so my debit order bounced 1/1 and I immediately made an arrangement with them to make double payment end of Jan (ref # and all). Yet, they have, after various emails and calls in this regard, just deducted the amount for a 4th time this month, costing me r150 per debit order bouncing

Incorrect contract issued since 08/09/2021 on [protected]

I would like to log a complaint against the lady who just helped me, 20 January 2023 at 13h30 her name is Magame, she did not want to give her surname to me. She refused to put me through to her supervisor/manager, I assume that the conversation was recorded. I am trying since 01 September 2021 to get this problem resolved. I think I have been patient long enough. Cell C keeps running around in circles, and not resolving the problem.
I took out a Pinnacle 3G contract 5 years ago (which is a month-to-month contract, with 30 days notice if you want to cancel the contract), it was advertised on Cell C website. I received statements on Cell C account [protected] it was advertised on Cell C website. For 3 years, the payment (R249) went off my credit card. On 1 September 2021 I was contacted by a Cell C representative (please pull the numerous phone records) He advised that I must take out the Pinnacle 5 GB Top up for R100 more per month. I asked him numerous times if the Pinnacle 5 GB Top-up was a month-to-month contract and not a binding 24 month contact, which on the call he reassured me. Now I have decided to give 30 days notice with Cell C to end the contract and make the cellphone number a prepaid number. I was informed that the 24 month contract will end 08 09 2023. Client and technical (135) bad service
My first call and case opened 15 Dec. No one is coming back to me and every time I call their excuse is sorry, we can't view your previous open case locked we don't have excess. Every time they open a new case and I fall back in the line.

Most of the day I have 0 reception 📶 at home and sometimes just 1 bare. No one can phone me, and I can't make calls. People are sent back to my security gate because they can't phone me. I can't even phone your 135 number.
I have done all the settings changes - Roaming, Vodacom Towers, Change Access Point Name, Reset network settings. Nothing works or help - And every time we will escalate your case. (New one, because they can't view the previous one) No one phones me back, no technician coming out. When I request to talk to a Team leader / Manager they can't transfer me - She will call you back - That doesn't happen - When I ask to hold for her because she can't get through to me (The whole point of complaint) They just drop the call. The only way they can get hold of me is via WhatsApp Call - and they just say sorry we can't.
Desired outcome: Technician to come out to my house testing and get a solution. Remote assistance doesn't work. CellC must install a booster or something that resolve this issue. Otherwise, I need to move my contract to a different supplier.
Debit order / eft
I have been a client with cell c for about 20 years. My problems started in July when I changed my bank from FNB to cell c. Firstly, they captured my new banking details incorrectly from a bank confirmation letter. They then charged me r 70 for a failed debit order after their incompetent staff captured my banking details incorrectly. I refused to pay the r 70. They then suspended my line. After two months of not been able to use my phone I had no choice but to pay the r 70.00 I called in and asked the consultant to please send me an SMS with the amount they want me to pay. She sent the SMS I paid that amount a week later get a call from cell c and they tell me it was short paid. I said I paid according to what your consultant said I should pay. They apologized it was incorrect. Again I asked them to send an SMS with the full amount that needs to be paid, they sent it and I paid that amount. On Tuesdays, a consultant calls me again to tell me there is an r 10.00 ten rand short paid. I laughed and asked how I cell c still operating if they cannot even get the amounts clients need to pay correct. I put the phone down, this incompetent flipper arrogant [censored] blocked my contract line as well as my prepaid numbers. I have sent numerous complaints to cell c and no one has bothered to contact me. I have been on hold trying to speak to a supervisor for a half an hour and no luck

Upfront contract
I called twice to re-activate an account. The account was stopped because you did not process a debit order and I always have funds in the account. Every time I call in to get assistance, you say I failed the authentication.
If this is not sorted out, I will be closing all 3 of my accounts and I will have the rest of my family do the same.

Worst marketing "strategy"
Worst marketing "strategy". If you give this company your information or use their network, expect to be bombarded with sms's and even direct pop ups on your phone through the sim card. I don't know who at cell c thought that would be a good idea. I paid for my phone, sim, data etc. I don't expect forced marketing. Your phone will feel like one of those services that offer a free option but you're forced to watch ads except you would have still paid. Don't think they even care for the feedback so this is just a warning to those considering this network in the interest of transparency.

I took out a contract with Cell C on the phone. They phoned me with a promotion. Aug 2022. Amount sold R 499 pm. I now get billed at R 999 per month, as apparently, the promotion was only available to in store customers, and not online. But this is what the agent told me and the recordings confirmed this. In the meantime - I have been handed over to the collections department as my account is in arrears, which it is not. I am paying the contractually agreed amount of R 499 pm. No one gets back to me, I have to call every time and new cases just get opened. I really don't know what to do anymore.
Desired outcome: I would like Cell C to honor the contract that was sold to me, or cancel my contract and not expect me to pay amounts that I did not agree to.

Been with cell c for 11 years 6 contracts in total on my name for my family 1 contract up graded in july 2022 other 5 contract due now but are been running arround from peter to paul

Unauthorised debit order
There were fraudulent debit orders coming off my FNB account from Cell C. Informed Cell C and was advised to write an affidavit, attached my certified ID copy and a bank statement all these were done back in July 2022. The debit orders were stopped and Cell C blocked my 2 legitimate numbers one of which was on contract with about 3 months left.
I made Cell C aware of that and they consultant even called to clarify which numbers were legitimate and also followed up with an email which there have never been a response.
On 21 December 2022 I got a call from Cell C to confirm my ID number and I refuse to comply. The following day I woke to R3016 from my account from Cell C.
Because of all this my bank account is blocked pending the investigation results from Cell C.Only yesterday after numerous calls and email did get an email saying I must sent through documents. The same documents that I first sent in July 2022

Incorrect Cell phone

Please can you help me as Been speaking to Joanne, then some agents don't give they name and reply with GN and MN as a signature.
I was misinformed on a cell phone as I wanted a Samsung and was sold a OPPO, on the day it was delivered I called cell C immediately and they said they will have it resolved as this is going on from 10 December to current almost a month.
The team call me to say they will resolve and send the courier but no updates ever take place.
They even closed my file without any feedback and gave me a new reference [protected]
Please can you help resolve the issue as I am extremely irate dealing with incompetent people that cannot support a simple query.

additional charges with out proper notification / Fraud
Cell -C has not provided any communication to debit my account earlier in December of 2022
Usual date 30/31 of each month.
Now, I am be billed an additional fees for debt order not going through on the 24 December.
Secondly, I have credit of R145 per month which I pay for in my debt order - it does not get deduced the next month or even refunded.

Porting of number
Hi my son has been struggeling to port his old cell c number to a new cell c sim for how long now. They keep on asking him silly questions like when last did he load airtime. He tells the lady at call centre he cant remember because he stays in a house with wifi and dont worry to load airtime, why not ask the child whats his i.d. number which is more important than when last did you buy airtime and the lady at call centre is like parrot that keeps on with same thing. no man wow ask something that counts, who in todays fast life can remember when last did you load airtime. It's really stupid.

Cell C Stardom SAT Push, CellC Strive Life, Star Live
Good morning,
Cell C has send me sms's on 3 occasions stating that I've subscribed to services that deducts money daily. It seems by simply opening the sms to read it, you are registered automatically without given any consent. Also Stardom SAT Push sms did not say where it was from or how to opt out. The other services had a bit more detail but does not give you the opportunity to opt out.
I cant see how this is acceptable. It is similar to e-mails with a virus that infiltrates your computer by simply opening it, the virus destroys your computer. The sms is automatically deducting money from my Cell C account. It is then up to the Cell C client to run around trying to find out how to cancel and opt out from the service they did not subscribe to, and have no idea what service it might even provide.
Please can you investigate, and address it. Cell C should be held accountable to such behaviour or at least make the T&C clear in the same sms.

Credit issue on cell c contract
On trying to upgrade my contract in November 2022 ref nr, [protected], they found my credit score 'blocked' as some dept was handed over! Dept I was never informed about, or gotten any warning letters or Info about from Cell C. My contract was active all the time, all the debit orders went off monthly as it should. Over the past year I have been receiving calls from a credit company that wanted me to confirm my ID ext, they are calling me, and should know who I am. And on at least 4 occasions after these calls I phone Cell C Customer care to be told that there is no problem with my accounts and I must ignore the calls!
I then received sms messages from the kredit company about paying money I to an account. I then emailed the credit company on 24/01/2022 and ask them to send me the information on the so called dept, contact detail, ext, but they just responded by saying they are forwarding my query to the client. Other that that I received no further info from them or cell c. I have last phoned cell c on the 28/12/2022, the reference nr. [protected], and was told that my case was forwarded to the dept to correcty credit score! That is now another week later and no feedback. In the meantime the credit company called me again, want me to confirm who they are talking to with my ID. And on telling the lady that I am not giving personal detail to anybody on a phone she said then she cannot continue the call! I am very frustrated as this is affecting my creditability unfairly! Also my current phone screen is damaged because of this mess I cannot upgrade.

I Anushka van Der westhuizen have a big problem with cell c in 2021 I asked for 1 data Sim card then they send me 4 Sim cards I have tried sins 2021 Feb that cell c must come and collect them from me know I can't upgrade because this 4 Sim cards that is still not used I will not pay them I don't want them I payed over in May 2022, R7500 and then in June 2022 I payed a nother R7500 and then a payment for every month up to now normal invoice still nothing came of this I have send emails that they must come and collect but I'm in Jan 2023 and still it's against me. cell c handed me over for something that is not even on my account I spoke to a person by the name Abdullah he told me my account will be sorted still nothing on 04/01/2023 I got a nother case number [protected] I want my account sorted by the end of this week.in 2022 I was behind one month for January 2022

Hi, am Thabelo Matidze, I'd no:[protected]. This is my fourth complain to you guys without any issue being resolved. You are debiting more than we agreed on. There is something that you have added, what I do not know. The amount, it's supposed to be R360 and not R417,98. Please resolve this as we did not agree on.
