We purchased our whirlpool double oven model wod51ec0as04 on 11/22/2016. Installation was normal on 11/28/2016. On startup, we noticed the oven fans were very noisy and varied pitch up & down to an annoying degree. The installer told us this was normal for this model. We lived with it through christmas and called for service in jan 2017. A different technician came out on 01/19/2017 and also announced the fan noise was normal. After his departure, I called whirlpool service and they again said the noise is considered normal for this model.
This noise has to do with the fan and fan ducting around the oven chamber. The fan draws air through the ducting where wires and other internal parts creating noise similar to air flowing over the exterior of a driving vehicle where edges on the outside of vehicle will cause higher levels of internal compartment noise. Whirlpool says the design is normal though this is unacceptable to us. Whirlpool service contends there have been few complaints though I suspect they wish not to admit to the actual number of customers calling and complaining about this issue.
I submit that the fan and ducting are clearly not designed to provide an adequate noise to service ratio and whirlpool has allowed for a poor fan ducting design for the sake of "being pretty". Further, they said if we called another technician out, whirlpool would consider that service call to be out of warranty for the fan issue. Not reassuring.
We also discovered the delay timer function was restricted from accepting an input of no greater than 9:00 hours in delay timing. A delay of 9:01 hours or greater received an automatic kickback to 9:00 with a double beep. This means if you want the oven to start at 8:00 am the next morning, you have to stay up until 11:00 pm to set the delay timer on this oven.
The main annoyance is this is not documented anywhere in the user manual and when the technician and whirlpool service were asked about this, they did not know this was a problem. Whirlpool service then, after a pause on the telephone, announced this was programmed this way for "safety". When I asked whirlpool service why the user was not the determiner of this setting, the response was that the company just set it this way for "safety". I contend this should, at the very least, have been documented in the user manual. This restriction should be removed to allow the user to set the delay timer at will.
Had we known of these issues, we would have reconsidered purchasing this $1800 oven. Now we are forced to listen to a noisy oven which to me, takes away the joy of the experience of the smells of fresh baking. Most certainly we will look for other, less noisy oven designs in our future.

Our 2018 model WGE745C0FE00 is also very noisy, and has been from the start. Ours sounds more like bad bearings in the fan, not a whirring or whistling noise. It is more of a growling noise. We have just been putting up with it, but not happy about it.

I agree VERY annoying especially in the current open concept floor plan footprint, have to turn up TV volume to drown out the whirring and whistling noice.

I also recently purchased the same Whirlpool oven model. I immediately noticed the same fluctuating "whirring" and "whistling" fan noises the first time I used it. Thought maybe it had been installed wrong or was malfunctioning. DId a quick online search and found this complaint. VERY annoying.
