Public Storage Service and access to my personal items

I have not been able to discuss my storage unit located at 5778 N Northwest Hwy Chicago, IL 60631 Unit # 2058 with an onsite Manager or a Regional Manager in months. I have had limited contact with Michael and Shawn at the Office but today I went to the location and again no information is available on my personal belongings. This is beyond acceptable, and I went to my local police station to file an incident report and they have advised me to also consult with your Corporate Offices as well and to contact my attorney which I have done as well. I understand that there are others going through a similar process at this time as in mid- December there was a manager change. At this time, I would like an immediate response from your offices on this matter. I do not know what is going on and zero communication is no longer acceptable on this matter. Public Storage Storage unit

I pay for a unit there at the location 6917 Oporto Madrid Boulevard. I’ve had this unit for over four years now I’ve never missed a payment and I’ve never had an issue up until now because I started to move some things out of my unit and I brought the lock with me because I’m not worried about the stuff that’s still in the unit but I am currently paid up through the entire month and it’s just now the beginning of February and your employee at this location. Her name is Pamela she Went inside my unit and started taking pictures of my stuff and she’s threatening me to charge me a $500 fee to leave that stuff in there when I’m paid up through the month and she shouldn’t be going into my unit that’s personal property. I need someone to contact me at [protected] thank you.

Public Storage Renting a storage unit for $707 a month

This place is horrible they lock your unit before the 30 days you have a grace period until the 11th of the month and they are saying you’re late even though if you pay the payment on the 11th of the month they’re saying it’s still late because of payment due on the first however there’s no delete fee assessed the unit is not supposed to be locked until 30 days the people at this location are very rude

Public Storage Never easy

My Name is Mary I have a Unit in Naples Florida Davis Blvd Have been a customer for a very long time even had a unit when they first came to Naples anyway, been with them now, and they raised my rent plus now a whopping 100 late fee! I asked if they would reduce it for a couple of Months so I can get back on my feet, what I got was a flat NO... only person that really care's are the people in the front office all they do is try because they have to face the client but Knowing it comes from CORPORATE which I feel are horrible people they don't care about nothing but the bottom buck!

Public Storage Illegally auctioned my storage

Hello, I went to my storage unit and it was empty (01/21/24. When I went to the front to talk to a manager they only have one temporary person and they informed me all notes past 01/05/24 has been erased or no longer available. That my stuff has been auctioned off and bid away. I told them that I paid my storage and I gave them my new number and I never got one one call stating that my storage unit was on lean or for bid. This is illegal and I want the manager fired as I told her everything and the next thing I know my storage is gone. I image she stole things from it as well. I am going to report to the police and more if this matter is not solved. It was all my heirlooms all in a 10x10 storage.

Claimed loss: priceless (10,000 at least)

Desired outcome: I want the manager fired and I want my items back period.

Public Storage Excessive rent increases without notification

My rental unit with Aventura Florida Public Storage perpetually changes and increases with varying fees. I had worker Robert remove insurance fees that I never authorized, then the rent increased again from $238.56, to $253.56, to $283.36, now my unit (#2242) is $313 + $17.22 tax! December 2023 the Public Storage app wasn't accepting payments and I assessed a $62.60 late fee that Jose refused to remove. Incorrect records indicate a late fee was waived in August 2023: this was an insurance fee that wasn't authorized by me which was removed. It seems they keep adding additional fees and raising rate on my unit without a valid notice or reason.

Claimed loss: $220 late fees and extra charges paid

Desired outcome: Reversal of late fees and return monthly rent to proper rate: it went from $238.56 to $283.36 to $330.22. I need my monthly rental fee to return to $238.36. My tenancy isn't even a year!

I have been paying my bill, on time, for this acount for quite some time now (via app). When I went to pay the bill for December 2023, I noticed the bill was more than usual. This facility added a late fee from another account to this account. EVERY time I call headquarters to make a complaint, I get nothing but a recording redirecting me elsewhere. I did pay the $342.00 but the $75 is still on my bill. By the time January 2024 arrive, this facility will be expecting me to pay the $75 plus another late fee.

Desired outcome: Remove the late fee from THIS account.

Public Storage Denied access halfway through moving out.

The account is up to date. My common law wife passed away on the fifth of this month. Her daughter would like the pictures and other heirlooms. The storage unit is no longer needed. Half way through moving the stuff out the manager locked it and I was informed I would have to pay for another month and provide a death certificate or it will be sold. So all of our memories are now being held hostage by Public Storage. Again the account was up to date we are still

grieving.

Public Storage Billing issues like unnecessary fees associated with my account# 60012664

I paid the balance that was due on my account and for some some reason continue to keep getting charged outragious fees associated with my account the onsite property manager continues to keep charging me fees continues I just paid what was owed on my account B177 location Stockton, Ca my name is Melvin Lesley I am a military Veteran I did pay on my account before the 30th of the month.

Account number 60012664 this property manager has cut my personal lock and put a lock on my stuff and I feel I have things missing from my storage I did do a complete inventory of every item in my storage and I did sign up for insurance and I am being billed unnecessarily of fees associated with my account.

A check was mailed to that location a non profit agency called Insight housing has sent a check to the 1011 E march lane Stockton, ca location its been two weeks and for some reason this property manager have not processed that check associated with my account the check is enough to pay up my storage for 3 months.

the non-profit agency name is Insight housing there phone number is (510) 459-8886 gentlemen name is Leo Im giving public storage to share any information associated with my account.

Desired outcome: to correct these billing issues my account was paid today November 29,2023 and a Check was sent to the 1011 E March Ln, Stockton, Ca 95210 which was also be applied to my account.

Public Storage Return of overly sensitive information (i.e. tax documents/forms, pictures of deceased family members and family that cannot be resold)

My unit was sold in September 2023 in an Atlanta Metro Suburb location. I was in a domestic violence situation (I explained to them before they sold it) and asked for more time to pay because I was removed from bank accounts to access funds.

I asked prior to the sale if I could obtain my tax documents 2 scrapbooks, one is a 30 year scrapbook and other pictures of my deceased parents, grandparents, relatives and my kids. I was told that they would inform the purchaser of the unit to leave those items behind.

I have been contacting them repeatedly since then, only to have the employee offer to contact the purchaser or the company to ask about the items and provide them with my contact information. They made one phone call and told me that they have not responded. To date, I have been calling every week or every other week to no avail. Each time I call, they tell me that they have been calling, but the way they are responding to me makes me feel that they could care less about it, even sounding annoyed that I keep calling.

I am really concerned about my social security number, bank information, medical information, etc. being compromised. I understand that things can be replaced, but the things I was asking for are/were irreplaceable.

Claimed loss: Loss of sentimental pictures of deceased ancestors, children and grandchildren's pictures, medical documents, legal documents and tax documents for over 10 years.

Desired outcome: I would like to have the purchaser or company contacted. I would like to have my information given to them to contact me directly if possible if they have them so that I can have them sent back to me.

Public Storage An employee that has been harassing me and calling me derogatory names

An employee that has been harassing me and calling me derogatory names being real unprofessional and making me feel real uncomfortable I want him reported and I want something done about it I'm a paying customer and I have done nothing to deserve this. My storage unit is f381 and I'm located in Las Vegas Nevada on the corners of flamingo and Jones the employee's name is Chad. My co-renter is Brittany woods I am an authorized access person and my name is Terrell Harper. I have video feed of the incident as well.

Public Storage Suggested Monthly Rent Increase

Dear Sir or Madam

My acct# is [protected]-located 930 S Roselle Rd, Schaumburg IL 60193-Unit D3

Im writing regarding the mentioned unit and the suggested monthly rent increase to take effect November 1, 2023. Account record will confirm I moved into the D3 unit February 11, 2023 with a monthly rent of $238. To suggest a 34% ($82) monthly increase from $238 to $320 in less than a 9 month period is absurd. Ive rented storage units for the past 20 years and have never experienced an unreasonable rent increase this soon nor to this degree.

Im hoping you can be more customer focused and please reevaluate this increase. Thank you.

Public Storage Storage unit sent to auction - request personal photos and no communication

Hi, I have used a storage unit K237 at Lake Wylie Storage for long time. Was taken under arrest for old charge and place in Correction Facility. We communicated along the way with Kathy - On Site Mgr. Told her unable to pay bill, authorized power of Attorney but would not allow any one on site to retrieve the photos. Asked for Auctioner number, but Kathy said against policy, but they gave my contact info but no one ever called. It is high priority that the Auctioner contact info is provided so can locate the photos before destroyed. Kathy was aware Larry Whitaker whose name is on the lease had 2 strokes and unable to talk and long term care facility out of town. Kimberly Rowland has been paying for storage, and when she was incarcerated, Janet Norton made payment for a couple months, stopped by, escalated and tried to address before this went to auction. Looking for management to expedite, review, and escalate this issue asap. Thanks Janet [protected] [protected]@gmail.com. Complete documentation on letters, visits, calls and payment can be provided. Personal Photos provide from recent Auction event, and/or contact for this auction vendor so I can seek my options. Very disheartened when medical emergency list STROKE and FULL DISABILITY, in additional to arrest and UNABLE to do anything from Jail, and advocate was unable to get these personal items.

Public Storage Rent increases

My rent on a 10x10 space went from $181 to $238 a month. If I reserve a new 10x10 unit at the same location, I can rent it for only $154/month! To increase yearly rent for existing renters by 31% while offering the same unit for 35% LESS is a scam. I can find interior storage elsewhere for even less. This company offers low rent the first year, and relies on renters being too lazy to want to move their stuff, so they will pay the outrageous year over year rent increases. A 31% increase in rent is criminal.

Desired outcome: I can move my stuff to a new unit in the same building and save over $1000. I am willing to pay the same rent as I am now ($181 per month) for the next year for the same unit, otherwise I will move.

Public Storage Quality of unit provided

The initial setup was complicated and I didnt have access to the gate for 3 days, had to go troubleshoot during office hours. By the time I was able to get into the unit my u-haul was overdue. I was given a crappy unit with a hole in the door and the inside falling in (even thought the undamaged unit next to it was available). I was pressed for time and had to return my u-haul so did not have time to complain. I lock is on the opposite side of every other unit. The lock is positioned behind the brick wall so its hard to even unlock. The contents are exposed to the elements (spiders, bugs and lizards were frequently found inside). I stayed for approx 2 months and moved out on 9/3, after finding a family of lizards in the unit. I followed up to pay my remaining balance and they inform me I owe the full amount because they do not prorate. But they prorated when I moved in. Honestly I shouldnt have had to ever pay full price for such horrible conditions. This was no different than having my belongings sitting outside.

Desired outcome: Balance cleared and partial refund for the time my belongings were stored there

I have encountered there consecutive reset of my autopay for my storage unit in Mckinney, TX

I have been always autopay for the entire 2 yrs with Public Storage.

Since June,23, my account has lost autopay without my authorization.

My bill became due and overdue. I was notified the last minute and found supprisingly my autopay was cancelled. This has been repeated since June, July, August and Sept. Each time when I caught it, I set it to autopay again.

In August I had to pay a late fee of $35 more because I was one day late (again the autopay was cancelled without my authorization)

I am asking an investigation of the Mckinney, TX store odd behavior or tinker customer accounts.

Or

If not just one store, I assume may be Public Storage intentionally cancel customers' autopay nationwide.

Desired outcome: - an investigation of the Mckinney, TX store - to refund my $35 late fee for August,and For my effort to bring this to your attention, I am asking - to consider to reduce my monthly fee from $124 to original $95 for the next two years

Public Storage Public storage. Bogus chatge of $16 and enrolled me in autopay. Didn't sign up for that!

New customer lease storage unit. It said online it was supposed to be $1 for the first month they did not give me that, twas full price. and on top of it after I paid for the initial administration fee $29 for the first month. I had to pay for the lock which is $22 and then had to get mandatory $15 a month insurance a few days later they just charged me a random $16 for no apparent reason and I have no idea what that's for and apparently they don't know what it's for either but they won't refund it. Also automatically enrolled me in autopay and I have no idea how to take it off I did not sign up for that!

Desired outcome: Refund $16 or credit bill. Remove Autopay! Please n thank you

Public Storage climate controlled storage

I am writing to complain that I'm growing ever-frustrated with paying full price for what is supposed to be a climate controlled 10'x10' space at the Public Storage facility on Palm Valley Road in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida and yet it is NEVER feeling like the air conditioner is on and working properly when I visit the location. It seems to only affect my hallway - where my storage is located (C429). I've inquired about this before and was told that the company was working to repair the air conditioning but this has been going on since July of this year (at least). I (and I'm sure other customers) have valuables that we're paying to keep in a controlled climate for specific reasons. This is about to become completely unacceptable - especially if you continue to charge all of us the full price for what you advertised we would get - a climate controlled unit.

I would move my stuff to another unit of the same size if one were available, but you do tend to keep your units rented out. Still, there is no excuse for your customers not getting what they are supposedly paying for. My valuables are going to become in jeopardy if you do not fix the air conditioning.

Desired outcome: Fix the air conditioning in my hallway - at the very least, give me a TRUE estimated time frame when the air will be fixed. We're about to hit September! I can't work in my storage unit without it.
