I was looking online for a value of an old book and came across an option to have someone provide me a value. I believed I was paying a small fee (less than $10 for access to an individual on a one time basis). It wasn't until a month later that I was notified by pay pay of a $70 charge to my account. I barely use paypal so when I signed on and found not only the $70 fee but also one from the prior month, I was angry and immediately called and cancelled. I also asked for someone to speak to so I could find out how I ended up subscribed and that is when I found out that asking a question and my initial fee was in fact my assumed agreement for a subscription. This feels very deceptive and angers me greatly. I asked for a refund from the customer service and who simply repeated the same statement over and over about how I agreed to join the service with my initial question. I feel this is deceptive and takes advantage of people.
Claimed loss: $70
Desired outcome: I would like my $70 refunded. To prevent this from happening again, I deleted all my credit card info from Paypal.
