I stopped at CVS on Moosic St. in Scranton PA at 6 am 9-27-26. I was attempting to fill a prescription to treat my RLS (restless leg syndrome). I wanted to wait for the script to be filled but the pharmacist personally came to the drive-thru window (in a huff) to tell me I could return at 9 for the prescription. I said ok.
I did not make it back to pick up my script until around 8 or 9 pm. I pulled up to the window and asked for my script. Next thing I knew, the same male pharmacist from the morning, returned to the window (still visibly irritated) and informed me that they needed to verify some info with my doctor before they fill my script so I’d have to wait until the next morning. I said, well I really wish I’d received a phone call to let me know this, as I’ve just driven 45 minutes to get there. The pharmacist responded with, “yeah well you were supposed to be back at 9 am.” I thought that was a rather strange response. Why was he so worried about the time I arrive to pick up my prescription. He expected me back at exactly 9 am just because he said my script would be ready at 9 am? Weird! He’s overly concerning himself with me & my script and I find that creepy & it made me very uncomfortable. But I said ok, I’ll see you in the morning then.
9-28-26 10:00 am After speaking to my doctor’s office to learn that my doctor had spoken to the pharmacist & I should be good to pick up my prescription now, I arrive at CVS on Moosic Street Scranton yet again. This time I go inside to avoid the line at the window. I ask for my script. The lady at the register could not find it so I said, “if it’s still not filled just give it back to me and I will go somewhere else at this point.” She checked with a female pharmacist who was working and then let me know that they need to verify more information with my doctor and they will not give me the prescription back until they do that.
I have a million problems with this. #1 what are you waiting for? You should’ve called the doctor right back once you realized you hadn’t verified everything you needed to on the first call! I’ve now been waiting for a script that I need for a medical issue for well over 24 hours with 3 attempts at picking it up!
#2 it almost feels like CVS pharmacists are going out of their way to purposely not fill a prescription for me, which is weird. Why are they so overly concerned with me getting 14 pills for restless leg syndrome?
#3 if they weren’t going to bother calling the doctor back right away, they should have called me and communicated this to somebody. They have zero communication on their part until you drive all the way there & get to the window. At $5/gallon and spending the past 2 days away from my home, I’ve probably spent at least $40 going back and forth to CVS and have still not gotten my script.
At this point Ive had enough of this and I tell the lady at register to take the script and rip it up because no drug is worth going through this. It’s completely insane and again, just downright weird that the male pharmacist was so overly concerned with me and he clearly had coached the female pharmacist before she took over today.
After telling them to rip up my script, I left, got to my vehicle and remembered I had refills in cvs’s system and will NEVER go back there again so I walked back to the pick up counter just in time to hear the pharmacist talking about me and my doctor loud enough so anyone in line could hear which is against HIPPA, as none of the people who are hearing these details are medically treating me. That’s the only exception where they should legally be given these details. I’m in the medical field myself and I’m very aware of HIPPA laws and aware of what’s appropriate behavior vs inappropriate behavior for a pharmacist and none of this is acceptable. I will be consulting my attorney.
Desired outcome: Me to sue you and acquire money to compensate me for what your pharmacists have put me through and then to have you re-train them all so no one ever has to deal with what I dealt with between yesterday & today.

It’s a doctors job to write medication orders for their patient, as they’ve been trained to do and as they see fit.
It’s a pharmacist’s job to fill the script that the doctor decided the patient needed to have.
It just seems like these pharmacists are extra in every-way possible.
I’m sure the male pharmacist is a democrat, no offense to the rest of the democrats, he’s just so overly emotional about a strangers script that it’s very uncomfortable for women to deal with “men” like that.
