CVS review: Pharmacy staff at CVS pharmacy in Okeechobee Florida

My husband Charles VanHouten, who is a military veteran had heart surgery in Palm Beach Florida 1.5 hours away from Okeechobee, Fl. He was discharged from the hospital today 5/29 at 0430pm to go home. He had two prescriptions that were controlled substances that had to be hand carried. We arrived at the pharmacy at 0555pm and I was told right away that they were closing in 5 minutes and we couldn't get his pain medications. Ashley the tech told me right away I was welcome to go to another pharmacy. She then asked if I wanted to but we already had other meds he needed that had been called in so we didn't want to go somewhere else. She pulled his medications from the shelf and then asked me what his dob was. I asked her why she needed it since she had his medications in her hand and she just said she needed it to process the transaction. I asked what took so long to process the medications since they have his info etc since we always use them as our family pharmacy and she gave me an explanation of all that needed to be done etc. In the mean time they could have processed his medications and given them to me. My husband had his chest cut open and he needs pain medications. She was rude and didn't even attempt to be kind. She told me multiple times that I was welcome to go to another pharmacy. Well I will. I am an RN and a home health nurse and I deal with medications and patients all the time. I will recommend they go else where and never shop at your pharmacy again. Ashley the tech should be fired. If I spoke to my patients like she did me. I would be fired. Also she did not have her name badge on. I had to get her name off of the receipt. Also I took care of the managers mother and you can bet I treated her better than his staff treated me. I hear all the time from patients how they have had bad experiences and I never had. Well I have and I'll take our money elsewhere and never recommend your pharmacy to anyone.
