This company came to my home claimed damages that no other company found, ran tests I did not authorize and now trying to sue me. Help! The representative came into my home to provide a quote because my toliet overflowed into our downstairs washer/dryer area. He claimed I had all this damage upstairs and downstairs and wanted to demolish all these areas and then also charge my insurance for waste remediation and repairs. He then asked me to sign a document (I now understand was a contract they want to hold me to) that he said was only needed to leave their drying equipment for a courtesy to show how much they wanted my business. He further stated if I decided not to go with their services they would remove everything with "no charge at all". In the midst of this conversation, he quickly cut my floor and ceiling without my permission and said he needed to run test I didn't ask for. I told him I needed to speak with his boss "before" we moved forward and got him out of my house because I felt extremely uncomfortable with what he did/said. I immediately called his boss and said I didn't want to use their services and to come get equipment. I then received a call and a threat of a lawsuit if I didn't pay them for running these two test for abestos and lead and running their drying equipment. I was very upset that he cut up my place without authorization which was why I didn't move forward. He was pushy and it felt very predatory and I was afraid to move forward. I felt they might try to upcharge the insurance company just based on this pressured exchange. Now they are claiming if I don't pay$650 for these two tests and their drying equipment they will sue me. I went with another company that didn't charge but $525 for three days of drying and demolish total AND they said there was no damage or wetness upstairs in any additional areas that Serclean said existed. Two other companies both said the same thing, they didn't know what Serclean was doing or why they told me that lie about all that damage and ran abestos or lead tests. I am so upset and I can't believe they are holding me hostage and trying to sue me. Please help. My instincts were correct and they were trying to get over on me.
