JPMorgan Chase real estate taxes

I sold property at 393 shadow road, greenwood, in 46142 to matthew and casey jackson. They obtained a mortgage loan from chase.
I purchased a new real estate and when I paid my property taxes the following year on my new house I accidently used my old parcel number. Therefore, chase only paid a partial payment on the jackson property. I have tried to recover this money to no avail. Tammy anderson, a supervisor with chase told me they were not going to reimburse me and the homeowner needed to pay me. The jackson's say chase has the money in escrow and they are not paying it.
Where can I get help to get my money returned to me.

JPMorgan Chase making home affordable (obama bill)

Try this; the first time I applied I was denied because my payments were not late, I reapplied it took a few months cause they kept losing the documents I would send them at their request went on for a few months, they finally put me in trial mod for 6 months-lower payment and the in Dec it was approved we signed everything sent the documents back and in May it was reversed, because my acct was audited by IRS (so they say) it was incomplete on their side, they never let me know until I started getting papers saying if I was having problems making my payment to call. It has taken from Apr to get an answer and now its in review pending again, so I get the calls again while it is, cause its one company-but each dept doesn't know what the other is doing and to find out it may NOT be approved.
I also have a second with them-I was trying to do the same, I sent them the final papers from the 1st and they told me they would start things going on the mod for that--no calls from them I called them over the weeks to make sure all was ok, they said we are working on it and not to mention everytime I called the rep I was dealing I never got a call back after leaving messages--so now its been charged off, I called to get info on what to do to get out of that status they said too late--they said I could make a lump sum payment or make monthly payments but they still could not guarantee anything--even after I make payments. Chase SUCKS--I guess they are above the Obama bill to help!

as foreclosure consultant in RI, I have experienced many similar negative results regarding Chase. Although many lenders/investors and their servicing companies are just as ignorant of their own guidelines/policies/procedures, Chase is by far one of the worse. After randomly applying payment funds to escrows on accounts that were not escrowed, these clients found themselves in the negative. In our attempts to work out plans to stop the negative escrow escalation, Chase continued paying funds out of these phantom escrow accounts. In the meantime, applying late fees and penalties to the accounts while holding regular monthly payments in suspense until the entire payment was made to include repayment of negative escrow and forward payments into escrow. This was the start of the runaway train. Additionally, Chase entered clients into pre-trial payments without informing clients that each payment would be held in suspense, thus resulting in additional late fees and further arrearages. At the end of the line, Chase admits they made a mistake yet no one is held accountable. Bottom line, clients started off a few thousand in the hole and after many months find themselves in excess of $20, 000-30, 000 in the hole. The FTC and Banking commission are worthless in this regard. Class action suit does nothing in the general scheme of things. Banks (investors) make more money if they foreclose. Think about it. The FDIC and private mortgage insurance companies reimburse them up to 80% of their losses. It is more profitable to foreclose and receive monies right then and there "per loan" rather than to work with a borrower and receive a couple of hundred in interest per loan. The Government guidelines were not set up to protect "you". The Government doesn't make any money that way. Start paying attention in your neighborhoods. Question why Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will outbid investors at auction with a price far beyond what a property is worth. Then they will take the property over, leave it vacant for awhile to maximize their losses, secure it, winterize it and pay insurance and holding costs; then sell it for a fraction of its worth as REO or bank owned. The media has everyone fooled into thinking the banks are "going down". Bottom line...they're better than ever. They planned this. There is no other explanation. I have seen this time and time again during my years in the foreclosure intervention business. If the Government puts a stop to this, it won't be as a result of discovering what the banking industry is doing; it will be more along the lines of "wow.., .they're onto us...we better do something".

If anyone wants to help me on this- please email me at adhenry06@aim.com They are purposely "losing paperwork", not returning phone calls, and taking our homes, one hardworking family at a time! JPMorgan Chase harassment

Never ever finance a car through chase. They are horrible to deal with. My car payment is due on the 15th of the month and they usually start calling on the 13th and 14th. I have told them numerous times. Do not call before the payment is even due. Absolutely harassment. I have never been more than 10 days past due. I was told the grace period is just before late charges are assessed. Any other place I have had a car finance through calls after the grace period not before the due date.

They call me every 1/2 hour and the payment is not late. They have called a friends house and every time that I speak with them they request all of the same information that I have given to them numerous times every single month. Will never finance anything with them again. I want to change my number just because of them.

I agree with all the complaints. Chase Auto Finance is a HORRIBLE company to deal with. We always make our payment, due on the 6th, within the 30 day window - so it is never delinquent - and they start calling if the payment is not received by the 10th. They even called family member once, which was so embarrassing considering the fact that the payment was not even late. The rep said if it one day past the due date it's considered late and that there are no grace days allowed. They're terrible. Avoid financing with Chase if at all possible. We will NEVER finance with them again.

JPMorgan Chase defaming character

Judy Meyer lied to my family stating that I went to her branch and tried to illegally withdraw money from my parents account. This lie was told to my brother and sister and spread around my family. I never met this woman she has no idea who I am or what I look like. When I complained to the branch manager I was told to forgetg about it. I am pursuing a defamation of character suit against c hase and Judy Meyer who should be fired!

JPMorgan Chase discrimination

I have been a loyal Chase bank customer for many years. On June 8th, 2010 I went to the Sheepshead bay branch to deposit a check written to my name Joyce Liao. The teller, Maryana Grattan indicated that she felt that there was a problem with the check because I have a Chinese name. Instead of discussing the problem with me she refused to serve me and asked me to leave the bank or she would call security. I asked to talk to the manager and she said that she was the manager. I asked another employee, Demitry Komarovsy, for her name. He responded by grabbing a piece of paper that that I was holding in my hand. I later through the Branch Manager Jason Casal I found out that my account has been closed by the security department without my permission.

Many times in Chase Branches in Sheepshead Bay I have experienced rude service and have had people complain to me while I was shockingly mistreated by employees of your bank. I feel that I have been treated unjustly and insulted by Chase Bank employees Maryana Grattan and Demitry Komarovsy at the Sheepshead Bay Branch. A lady, Sophia Heisley - who was a customer and who witnessed how I was mistreated at the time - told me that she had just filed a complaint for the poor service she received from the Chase Bank a couple weeks ago and would be willing to be my witness, when I file my complaint. I would like to know what Chase Bank will do to improve the service at the Sheepshead branch.

I tried to wire money to my daughter with an obvious Native name. The bank didn't send twice. When she had a married name, it went through easily. Now my online account is closed. We are not white. I think this has to be discrimination but don't know what to do except leave bank. I am angry enough I would sue if I could.

Recently visited the Chase bank on 10319 North Freeway Houston Texas 77037 to cash a check. The worker Andrea stated that the check was fake and went to go get the alleged supervisor. The lady said she verified the check and a number was missing? HOW WAS A number missing and the check was never detactched from the payment slip? And when can you verify a check from a corporate company in less than 2 mins. Was asked for 2 forms of ID because the check sum amount. Then said it couldn't be cashed. Inconsist of why the check couldn't be cashed. Long story short my "appearance" was the reason as to why I didn't look like would be able to cash a check of that amount. Went to a Walmart cashed it without any problems. Went back to the Chase location and asked to get corporate and all the other information. Was handed a card with just the branch manager name on it. Was racial profiled. Off the color of my skin. It's 2017 and this is ridiculous.

I'm not a customer of Chase Bank but I regularly use their ATM machines. On August 1, 2014. I went to the Chase ATM at the 4420 Kingwood Dr. location. I withdrew $500 from the ATM. The machine (Chase ) took the money out of my account, but the machine never spit the money out. I went into the branch to get help from the manager, she told me it wasn't their problem because I was not a customer. My bank is TD Bank in NY. I told the branch manager I was not moving my car until she did something, either call the ATM company or make good. The branch manager then told the security guard to call the police and have me arrested for Trespassing. I was arrested and spent 24 hours in jail. When I arrived home the next day, I contacted my Bank and explained to them what happened. My bank was appalled. My bank immediately put a dispute on the $500 withdrawal, then instructed me to file a complaint against Chase. TD Bank was livid that one of their customers was treated so appalling. My bank's legal department assisted me in filling out the documentation I needed to file against Chase with the FDIC, Civil Court and directed me step by step.

1. I'm african american and recently moved to Houston. The branch manager clearly discriminated against me. Had I been a white customer, I would have received immediate assistance. It was noted and mentioned by another customer that watched the entire situation unfold. Even the Chase customer asked why the branch manager would not assist me as other customers were waiting to use the ATM.

Im-from yonkers, ny I closed my account 1 week ago, because a employee made a race comment about me, I called H.R fill out a complaint but they don't care if any customer been discriminated..I hate this ###i? Place... Now I have another bank people are very nice..

they are stealing more than $20 in fees from me per month.. I'm tired of it, I haven't had a debit card in over a year, and to make matters even better they want to charge me a mailing fee.. like REALLY? I will love to join your rebellion against Chase bank...hope i am not too late with this, imagine our tax money helped in bailing out these "thieves in blue" and yet they want to steal our money with a smile! silicon22@hotmail.com count me in

JPMorgan Chase unresponsive

I have a ten-year home mortgage that was refinanced with Chase in 2003. I pay my own property taxes and insurance (i.e., no escrow account).

March 18, 2010--Chase sent a letter accusing me of being delinquent on my property taxes and threatening to pay them for me and set up an escrow account for all future payments.

My taxing authority allows for semi-annual payments, due Nov 30 and June 30 each year. I had paid in November; June was not yet due. After calling my tax authority (who did NOT report me as delinquent), I called Chase and learned that I need only send copies of my receipts to clear this up.

March 23, 2010--Certified letter to Chase with a copy of the receipt for November payment, and explanation that my taxing authority allows installment payments. Next payment due in June. Requested they respond that this was sufficient documentation to resolve the problem.

May 19, 2010--Chase writes to tell me that they still consider me to be delinquent, that they paid my "delinquent" taxes for me and have established an escrow account.

May 21, 2010--I received the May 19 letter, too late to make any phone calls.

May 24, 2010--Began making telephone calls to Chase and my taxing authority. In the process, I learned that Chase's third party tax agent, First American, had made a mistake in pulling "delinquent" accounts, and forgot to exclude people who were on installment payments. This had impacted about 200 people in my county alone. Chase was aware of the problem, but they did not communicate it to the low-level "customer service" representatives, nor to their supervisors.

After many calls, transfers and a lot of on-hold time, I learned that because they didn't have a letter from my taxing authority SAYING that I could pay in installments, they still considered my account delinquent.

May 27, 2010--I faxed and sent certified mail the requested documentation, with a request that the escrow account be "unestablished" as it was inappropriately enacted. I requested a response.

June 3, 2010--Chase sent a letter notifying me that they had received a past-due bill from my tax authority (not true) for the property taxes and had sent a check and established an escrow account.

June 4, 2010--I received the June 3 letter and called Chase again. After much run around (customer service can't help, you need to talk to the Tax Dept. Tax Dept. can't help, you need to talk to Escrow Dept. Escrow Dept. can't help, you need to talk to Tax Dept. All while being on hold in between with really annoying repetitive "music."), I finally got to speak to a supervisor who seemed to understand what happened and opened a "work order" for me. Supposedly, the only thing that needed to happen was for my tax authority to return Chase's check back and everything will be resolved. If I had any more questions, I should be able to get assistance by just referring to the work order number.

My tax authority meanwhile was collecting a number of Chase's checks, which they were not cashing and planned to return, but they could not get anyone at Chase to tell them where to send them.

June 7, 2010--I paid my remaining balance on the property tax and faxed a copy of the receipt to Chase. I also sent a copy by certified mail.

June 10, 2010--I received yet another "nasty-gram" from Chase about how much I would be required to pay on July 1 as a result of my being delinquent in paying my taxes. I called Chase again, with the work order number. Short story--it did no good. Customer service routed me to Tax who routed me to Escrow. The fellow in Escrow was very condescending and patronizing, saying I MUST have done something wrong, or this would have been resolved. He also tried to route me back to Tax Dept. I requested to speak to a supervisor; he sent me back to Customer Service, where I stayed on hold for about half an hour before their service department closed. I heard "We're sorry, but our offices are now closed..." and I was disconnected.

June 11, 2010--I obtained a letter from my tax office to Chase explaining that I had not been delinquent, that I was on an installment payment plan, and that they were returning Chase's check. I faxed this document to Chase and also sent it certified mail.

To summarize, this problem should never have happened, especially after I sent in documentation showing Chase was wrong. I had to force them to acknowledge having the documentation when I told them I had the certified mail receipts and the fax confirmations. Even though they were looking at the proof, they said nothing could be done until they got their money back.

It is my position that it was Chase's mistake sending the check in the first place, and that it is between them and the tax office. I shouldn't have to correct--or pay for--their mistake, nor do I have any leverage at the tax office to force them to send the checks back. (The tax office told me they will be returning the checks early next week, but it may take up to 30 days for Chase to acknowledge having them. My next mortgage payment, with the escrow assessment tacked on, is due before that.)

As soon as I get this cleared up, I will be paying off the loan and getting Chase out of my life. I just pray there are no more screw-ups before then. (And there is a whole other story about their harassment regarding how much insurance I carry on this property.)

Proposed resolution: reverse the establishment of the escrow account and revert my monthly payments back to what they have always been. A letter of apology would be nice, too.

JPMorgan Chase they can close your checking account without any notification ahead of time

Ok, I dont my objective to be expecting 100% perfection from banks and other places, but the way they do things at Chase dont make alot of sense. Ok, Im standing in line one day, ready to make a deposit, when one of the clerks has a disabled customer read either social security number or account number out loud where the whole bank can hear them. You know how dangerous and risky that is to your personal idenity? Alot of things didnt make sense. They dont pay close attention to what they're doing. They also close your checking account without any notification ahead of time.

just expanding on Chases maneuver to recoup bonus they deposit into a new checking account as they advertised and are advertising for...if you do everything right and they get no fees...but you use the account...pay your bills (costs them stamps etc) write checks...you are a drain on their profitability and their "CHASE OPERATING LOSS PREVENTION" department will close you after it measures your account for profits...and that will just prior to the six months needed to keep the 125 dollars. ...never mind that it requires you scurrying around to redirect your direct deposits etc .. they kno they are too big and are practically exempt from legal action. how do you sue a bank..

closing mine to take back the advertised bonus of 125 they gave after i met their criteria to get it. you see ... they can close it just before the six months needed to keep it comes.

JPMorgan Chase chase's fraud and breach of contract, forced into foreclosure

Chase mortgage/home finance stole our house!

Does someone know if the statute has run on mortgage lawsuits/class action suits where now ex-homeowner was forced to foreclosure by chase mortgage/home finance in december 2007? We owned a beautiful 125-year-old queen anne historic home (Listed on both state of texas & city of fort worth historic register/landmark designation w/bronze plaques by door so indicating) in ft. Worth which we worked on extensively to restore. Our original note was with first franklin mortgage in july 2003, but 2 months later note was sold to chase. Loan was an arm that provided our mortgage payment could only be raised every 2 years. Chase began raising our mortgage 2 months after they acquired the note and continued raising it randomly but no less than every 2-6 months. Mortgage payment started out in august 2003 at $635, the note was sold to chase in september 2003, and by late 2005, chase had raised our mortgage payments so many times - in breach of contract - that it reached $1, 350 by mid-late 2005.

When we lost our jobs; both got very sick a couple of times each; our only vehicle (A nissan frontier pickup) was stolen, stripped, and burned (We only carried basic liability w/uninsured motorist on it b/c it was fairly old & paid for). We couldn't make such high mortgage payments (Twice what the original payment was in just 2 years’ time). We filed both ch. 13 then ch. 7 bankruptcies and tried to work with chase to help get our monthly payments lowered. However, chase’s help in this was minimal at best and did nothing to help us.In november 2007, chase filed for foreclosure. At that point, we naively/stupidly/desperately paid $1, 200 for foreclosure negotiation assistance through a woman in arlington, tx named joanne partida, and, of course, eventually learned she was scamming us & ndash; she did nothing and we never got our $1, 200 back from her. However, we had 3 different people who definitely wanted and were ready, willing, & very financially able to buy the house from us before foreclosure. At least this way, we would avoid foreclosure & get our equity back, even if we could no longer remain in the historic home we’d worked so hard on & loved so much. We contacted chase every day to get a payoff amount on the house in order to sell it to 1 of these 3 anxious potential buyers. However, whenever my husband michael or I called or wrote chase to obtain a payoff amount on the house so that we could just sell it and get some of our equity back and move on before losing all to foreclosure, we never received anything from chase in response to our written requests, and all the chase reps that both I and michael (My husband) spoke with stated clearly to us that chase refused to provide us with a true and correct final payoff amount on the house. Of course, we had to have this figure to be able to sell the house. The last person I spoke to at chase (A woman named barbara ______________ in california) just before foreclosure told me in these exact words and in a very vicious/deliberately cruel manner/tone: " [we] (I. E. , chase) are refusing and will continue refusing to provide you with your final payoff amount. [we] (I. E. , chase) are going to see to it that you are definitely foreclosed on. " I explained to her and other chase reps that I absolutely had to have a final payoff amount because I had 3 definite buyers wanting & ndash; and competing with one another - to buy the house at a good price before chase foreclosed on us. Ms. Partida also went so far (In her almost non-existent help) as to contact chase for a payoff amount as well, but chase kept sending her different figures that kept increasing each time they sent one to her, so none of those amounts were final or reliable. Chase continued until the last moment and throughout the foreclosure sale to refuse to provide us with a final payoff amount.

So, despite having 3 definite, guaranteed buyers who wanted to step up and buy the house immediately and were standing in line ready and completely prepared to bid on/buy the house from us right then and there for a very decent price, chase made sure it went to foreclosure by refusing to provide us with our final payoff amount. Then, at the foreclosure sale, chase bought the house back for itself. (We have investigated further into this and have reason to believe/suspect that a chase employee ended up getting the house, which we find extremely strange and suspicious). This is also highly suspicious, as the house was slated to go onto the national register of historic places & ndash; its unique history, one-of-a-kind architecture, location, and other provenance on the house made it a very desirable property.

Whoever lives in it now has torn it all up - - it hardly looks like the same house we bought and worked on so hard ourselves to restore. It has lost its historic plaques/designations because whoever lives there now is not following the strict historic guidelines that an owner of an historic home must follow to keep the house officially designated as a state and city historic landmark, and as an upcoming listing on the national historic register. The formal english gardens that were out in front of the house surrounded by a wrought iron fence are now overgrown with weeds and dead, and the beautiful antique wrought iron fence that surrounded the front english gardens has been torn down as well. Aluminum foil and stained flowered sheets now hang in the windows. When we owned the house, it had a small but nice-sized glass greenhouse on the back next to the kitchen which was also beautiful with many unusual, old, heirloom plants and flowers, a shower, and a work sink. The new owners tore the historic greenhouse down altogether. They painted the house a pale & ldquo;vomit-colored” yellowish-green and the trim/door, etc. A battleship gray. It's ruined after all the labor of love we put into it ourselves when we owned it. If chase had not breached contract by illegally raising the mortgage payment every 2-6 months so that it shot from $635 to $1, 350 in 2 years' time, we would still be living there and continuing to restore it. It was one of a kind and was built by a famous fort worth sheriff, who then became a prominent judge, and then moved on to become a state congressman. Or, alternatively, if chase had just given us the final payoff amount on the house (Which chase was required to do by law but instead just thumbed their nose at both us and the law) , we could have sold the house immediately, before foreclosure, to one of 3 anxious, aggressive, definite, and financially sound buyers - with at least 1 of them (And possibly 2) paying full cash for it.

When I bought the house in 2003, I paid $95, 000 for it and put down $25, 000 toward the purchase price.In fall 2007, the house appraised at $137, 000, and the 3 buyers were gladly willing to pay us that (And perhaps more) , as they were competing against each other to get the house. That house was an important, significant, and valuable house. Because chase would not give us the payoff amount as they are legally required to do so that we could just sell it and start over elsewhere, we lost every penny of equity we had in the house - - approximately $67, 000 in equity ($25, 000 down payment plus $42, 000 in sales proceeds) had we been & ldquo;allowed” to sell it.

Now we have nothing. We are middle-aged and are having to start all over like kids in their early twenties. We rent a house in a very bad and dangerous section of town (Basically, the & ldquo;’hood. & rdquo;) one of our cars (A 2006 nissan altima) was repossessed b/c we refused to make further payments until either nissan u. S. A. And/or carmax honored nissan's recall of the car's alloy wheels (I had a serious accident in the car due to this defect, but neither nissan u. S. A. Nor carmax would honor the recall/warranty). One week later, our other very old car finally bit the dust for good. So for 5 months (Dec. 2009-april 2010) we had no vehicle or mode of transportation, which ruined our job-hunting abilities. We finally saved up $800 to buy a used & ldquo;fixer-upper” cash car last month, so we now have 1 set of wheels, anyway, although we really need another car for us to each realistically pursue our separate, respective job searches. We live in dire poverty, and now our unemployment benefits have just run out. Since we are middle-aged, we are too & ldquo;experienced” or & ldquo;over-qualified” for many jobs now, as the poor economy has resulted in companies hiring less experienced, younger applicants who will accept a very low, entry level salary. Even when we have stated to employers that we are willing to take a very large pay cut in order to just be employed, employers are not comfortable with that b/c they know we are worth much more than what they are & ndash; these days & ndash; willing to pay. They would rather hire a less capable, less experienced youngster at a low salary than feel guilty about paying highly qualified, very experienced people like us at an equally low salary b/c they’re embarrassed about their salary low-balling. However, as middle-aged people, we still have quite a long time to live (Barring any serious medical conditions that may arise, but we’re both very healthy and have longevity in most of our family histories). So, we’re way too young to just & ldquo;quit” trying to get back on our feet again. But with the unemployment rate like it is right now, we’re too old to land decent jobs to be able to start over again from scratch. People tell us, & ldquo;just go work at mcdonald’s or somewhere like that for now until you find a job in your real career field. & rdquo; well, places like mcdonald’s look at us like we’re crazy when we apply for low-level positions b/c we both are degreed & experienced in our chosen fields. (My husband is a graphics artist and customer service rep with a b. A.In fine arts; I am a paralegal/legal-executive assistant/secretary with 2 bachelor’s degrees (Cum laude) in english literature and in philosophy plus 18 hours in post-grad courses toward my master’s degree. We both have over 18 years’ experience in those careers). Employers are uncomfortable hiring us for & ldquo;no experience needed” jobs, or they tell us we don’t have any experience working retail or working in totally different jobs than what we’ve always done so we don't qualify for employment with them, even if their jobs would be a cake walk for us right now.

The trickle-down effect of losing our historic home due to chase’s constant breach of contract in raising our mortgage payment every 2-6 months, then their consistent refusal to give us a final payoff amount so we could go ahead and sell the house, get our equity back, and avoid foreclosure has turned us into paupers who have nothing now except physical and severe, non-stop depression/stress, 24-7. We have both been so mentally wasted and in shock and severe depression that we have been unable to come to grips with this and seek out help. We did try to get help from a few of the attorneys I worked for, but they made it clear to me that since I was not a paying client, they didn’t want to be bothered by my problems. As far as I and michael are concerned, chase is in league with satan himself. Chase mortgage/home finance without question stole our house from us by (1) first raising our mortgage payments far more often (Every 2-6 months) than was provided in the contract to the point where - over a 2-year period - our mortgage payment was twice what it began at consistently, repeatedly, and then (2) illegally refusing to give us a final payoff amount so we could sell the house to 1 of 3 definite buyers we had lined up prior to foreclosure! I hate chase more than i’ve ever hated anything else in my life!

Does someone you have any suggestions or know of a good attorney, anywhere in the u. S. But preferably in the dallas/fort worth area who specializes in and is now handling such cases? We would be extremely grateful for any attorney referrals or referrals to any other entities through which we can seek remuneration and damages from chase mortgage/home finance if we aren’t too late in bringing suit or, preferably, in joining an existing class action.

The stories are by all means entertaining. The sad thing is that readers don't know and fall for the BS. SCABS and SCAMMERS is all I can think of when I hear the names.

Knowing the "KRANKERS" personally I would bet there isn't a fraction of truth to any of what is said. Google Kranker, Kim Kranker, Susan Kimberly Kranker, Michael George Kranker, [protected], [protected] you will see what I mean. None of it is true, they take no responsbility for anything in their life, it is always everyone elses fault. I have known them for years and it wasn't long after first meeting them that you start putting things together. They are decietful, conniving, manipulative and the list goes on. JPMorgan Chase multiple unauthorized charges to bank account

On june 1, 2010 I made a payment online to chase home mortgage, a division of chase bank. Our fha mortgage was originally held by freedom mortgage, but the loan was sold to chase. I have been either sending a check to them or paying online at their website when I felt I couldn't get a check to them on time. This time, on the 1st of june I made my monthly june payment of 921.13 and received a confirmation number from them online, which I wrote down, and since I had not had a problem with them before, I forgot about it. On the 4th of june, I received a call from my local bank branch of sterling savings bank here in washington state to inform me that chase had sent a request for 5 payments instead of one. All on the 3rd. Of june. My bank computer system had paid 4 of them and then they caught the 5th one before the electronic system at these banks paid that 5th payment and called me to see if I truly was making that many payments in one day, one at a time to chase bank, because it had seriously overdrawn my account already and if this kept up it would get even worse. Of course, I told them I had made only one payment to chase. Besides the amounts chase had already been paid from my account, when it got into overdraft status, the computer automatically charged me nsf fees of $29 each time. I not only had nsf fees for the payments to chase, but I also had nsf fees for other bills that are automatically paid from my account, because when they came in, I was already overdrawn by chase's error. My bank assurred me that if I called chase and brought it to their attention that their computer system was overcharging me, that they would refund the extra payments. I have called chase, my bank has called chase, we have submitted all the documentation requested and it is now 8 days later and not refund. Todays communication with them by my bank ended with my bank being told that they were researching my claim, and it would be 10 more days before they would refund any money. I have not been able to use my debit card for my bank because my account is overdrawn. I don't want to risk getting more nsf fees by writing a check, and I am trying to live on what cash I have on hand until this gets straightened out, which is less than $50 for groceries and gas. I get a social security check later in the month that is automatically deposited, but if this isn't resolved, it will just get swollowed up by the more than $2600 overdraft. My bank is working with me to get the money back into the account asap. But chase should have refunded it already. They not only have the records showing they took out all those payments, they even sent a statement showing them, but their customer service dept. Says they have to research it some more to make sure it happened. Bull sh.. T!
They want to hang on to the money as long as they can to draw interest on it. Every little bit counts with them. Every little bit to them is a lot to me. My husband and I live on a fixed income of his retirement and my social security, and we still have a mortgage. You would think they would want to encourage people who pay their bills on time by giving them good customer service, but obviously, they don't care. As soon as possible, we are going to refinance with someone else.

JPMorgan Chase unresponsive to their own mistakes

I have a ten-year home mortgage that was refinanced with Chase in 2003. I pay my own property taxes and insurance (i.e., no escrow account).

March 18, 2010--Chase sent a letter accusing me of being delinquent on my property taxes and threatening to pay them for me and set up an escrow account for all future payments.

My taxing authority allows for semi-annual payments, due Nov 30 and June 30 each year. I had paid in November; June was not yet due. After calling my tax authority (who did NOT report me as delinquent), I called Chase and learned that I need only send copies of my receipts to clear this up.

March 23, 2010--Certified letter to Chase with a copy of the receipt for November tax payment, and explanation that my taxing authority allows installment payments. Next payment due in June. Requested they respond that this was sufficient documentation to resolve the problem.

May 19, 2010--Chase writes to tell me that they still consider me to be delinquent, that they paid my "delinquent" taxes for me and have established an escrow account.

May 21, 2010--I received the May 19 letter, too late to make any phone calls.

May 24, 2010--Began making telephone calls to Chase and my taxing authority. In the process, I learned that Chase's third party tax agent, First American, had made a mistake in pulling "delinquent" accounts, and forgot to exclude people who were on installment payments. This had impacted about 200 people in my county alone. Chase was aware of the problem, but they did not communicate it to the low-level "customer service" representatives, nor to their supervisors.

After many calls, transfers and a lot of on-hold time, I learned that because they didn't have a letter from my taxing authority SAYING that I could pay in installments, they still considered my account delinquent.

May 27, 2010--I faxed and sent certified mail the requested documentation, with a request that the escrow account be "unestablished" as it was inappropriately enacted. I requested a response.

June 3, 2010--Chase sent a letter notifying me that they had received a past-due bill from my tax authority (not true) for the property taxes and had sent a check and established an escrow account.

June 4, 2010--I received the June 3 letter and called Chase again. After much run around (customer service can't help, you need to talk to the Tax Dept. Tax Dept. can't help, you need to talk to Escrow Dept. Escrow Dept. can't help, you need to talk to Tax Dept. All while being on hold in between with really annoying repetitive "music."), I finally got to speak to a supervisor who seemed to understand what happened and opened a "work order" for me. Supposedly, the only thing that needed to happen was for my tax authority to return Chase's check back and everything will be resolved. If I had any more questions, I should be able to get assistance by just referring to the work order number.

My tax authority meanwhile was collecting a number of Chase's checks, which they were not cashing and planned to return, but they could not get anyone at Chase to tell them where to send them.

June 7, 2010--I paid my remaining balance on the property tax and faxed a copy of the receipt to Chase. I also sent a copy by certified mail.

June 10, 2010--I received yet another "nasty-gram" from Chase about how much I would be required to pay on July 1 as a result of my being delinquent in paying my taxes. I called Chase again, with the work order number. Short story--it did no good. Customer service routed me to Tax who routed me to Escrow. The fellow in Escrow was very condescending and patronizing, saying I MUST have done something wrong, or this would have been resolved. He also tried to route me back to Tax Dept. I requested to speak to a supervisor; he sent me back to Customer Service, where I stayed on hold for about half an hour before their service department closed. I heard "We're sorry, but our offices are now closed..." and I was disconnected.

June 11, 2010--I obtained a letter from my tax office to Chase explaining that I had not been delinquent, that I was on an installment payment plan, and that they were returning Chase's check. I faxed this document to Chase and also sent it certified mail.

To summarize, this problem should never have happened, especially after I sent in documentation showing Chase was wrong. I had to force them to acknowledge having the documentation when I told them I had the certified mail receipts and the fax confirmations. Even though they were looking at the proof, they said nothing could be done until they got their money back.

It is my position that it was Chase's mistake sending the check in the first place, and that it is between them and the tax office. I shouldn't have to correct--or pay for--their mistake, nor do I have any leverage at the tax office to force them to send the checks back. (The tax office told me they will be returning the checks early next week, but it may take up to 30 days for Chase to acknowledge having them. My next mortgage payment, with the escrow assessment tacked on, is due before that.)

Proposed resolution: reverse the establishment of the escrow account and revert my monthly payments back to what they have always been. A letter of apology would be nice, too.

As soon as I get this cleared up, I will be paying off the loan and getting Chase out of my life. I just pray there are no more screw-ups before then. (And there is a whole other story about their harassment regarding how much insurance I carry on this property.)

Update: it took about two months after I wrote the complaint before the issue was finally resolved, no thanks to Chase.

My tax office overnighted all the mis-issued Chase checks back to Chase. It took Chase about 30 days to credit the accounts (in this electronic age, why so long?). Once they credited mine, I paid Chase off and got them out of my life. And yes, I celebrated.

Chase never admitted to any mistake, never acknowledged any of my correspondence, and continued to blame and threaten me. After they got the check back from the tax office, they sent a form letter advising me to "disregard previous correspondence" about setting up an escrow account, and indicating that they regretted it if they had not met my expectations. Oh, yes, and reminding me what a valued customer I was.

I am in the same boat and struggling to find out who to contact to get resolution. The bad thing now is that all these months I have been fighting to get my account corrected (12 months) they have been charging me an additonal 550/month for escrows. Of course I have not been paying that amount, and now they have my home in foreclosure...I can't loose my home but can not afford the extra payments either.

HELP! who regulates for Chase anyway?

JPMorgan Chase fabricating escrow shortages

Chase recently took over my 17 year old mortgage and wasted no demonstrating corporate greed. This month my payment suddenly increased by $103.00. They are trying to justify it by using the escrow account, inflated projected costs, and a funky math formula with an inflated minimum balance (1/6 the payouts) minus the lowest balance. They refer to this as an "escrow shortage" and claim I owe them $860.00 now, even though if or when it would occur is projected to be October, 2010. I did not pay that amount because my numbers and projections do not match theirs. They used this shortage to validate adding $70.84 to my payments as well as an additional $33.00 to increase the escrow deposits.

It's funky math because when I calculate the average monthly balance (using their inaccurate numbers), it is $397.65. This is plenty of cash out of my pocket for Chase to hold on to. Chase also used early debits for property taxes to exaggerate or inflate a lowest balance...shame, shame, shame! It's greedy and dishonest!

I called them on June 3, 2010 requesting to opt out of escrow and was told no. I called them on June 4, 2010 to discontinue the automatic debit payment and am a bit worried about this now that I read the dishonest practice of holding onto payments that other people have reported. I will probably send my payments "signature receipt" to protect me from any future legal liabilities.

The renewal for my home owners insurance policy is July 28, 2010. I shopped around and am thinking about switching to a much less expensive provider and wonder if I should pay it in full myself and sending Chase (probably certified) the proof and documents of such. My property taxes won't be due until September and November. For a short time only, time is on my side but it appears Chase is playing hard and dirty and I have to be careful.

I already filed a complaint with the Treasury Department and am still waiting for a call back from an attorney. I will do whatever I need to do to make Chase do right. If there is a class action lawsuit...count me in! I want to sign any petition against Chase.

More amazing, I dont have a shortage but they want 2 months banked just in case? This is insane, so my money will just sit there? Not earning interest.. not paying anything... just in case? How can this be? My loan was with someone else, chase bought it... now they are changing the terms?

We got a letter from Chase today. Keep in mind Chase BOUGHT my loan from Quicken Loans and is now servicing it. The letter says my monthly payment is going from $795 to $1178, nearly a $400 difference per month based on "estimated escrow projections for 2019. They're basically stating they believe my property taxes will increase by $200pm and my HOI by $200. This is robbery. Plain and simple.

After spending hours crunching the numbers with Chase, I found out that they were creating the "shortage" themselves by paying my taxes early, therefore leaving me short. They are paying in January when the bill isn't due until February. The problem with this is that when they send the payment, January's portion of the payment towards the escrow has not hit the account yet, making it look like I am short, when in fact I am not. This is like when Chase mixes up the deposits and withdrawals so that they can charge you an "insufficient funds" charge, even though you deposit the money that is being deducted the same day! They jumble the payments, and now they get you with the timing of escrow payments - not waiting for the amount to hit the account to say that I am short. Also they told me over the phone they don't hold the minimum allowed by law they hold the MAXIMUM allowed by law. They are escalating the issue, and will get back to me in 10 days. I'll keep you guys posted!

I recommend that you all listen to What Lies In Your Debt. Monday call is at 9P phone: [protected] pin: 54318# . If Chase is calling your cellphone, they they have violated the TCPA and owe you $500 dollars per call. Keep a log of the time they called, the number called from, date and tell them to communicate with you in writing, not by cell if you answer the calls. If they have reported negative activity on your credit report, this is an FCRA violation and a FDCPA violation and that is a $2, 000 dollar fine per credit agency per month. This call will help you understand how to collect on Chase. I am about to collect on Chase for reporting negative information on my credit which was from forced placed insurance. I paid all fees and disputed. they then began to foreclose even with payments current. They will not return the funds that they overcharged. They now claim it went to escrow, but my escrow account claims 0 balance. They are thieves and all of you need to go after them for the way they try to collect an alleged debt. They believe they are too big to fail. Collect the consumer protection fines from them. These are the only laws that congress has given us. There is a private right of action and a civil remedy written into the federal acts. Each state also must have a statute to mirror the federal act and you can collect off from the state act also. Some states allow $10, 0000 dollars per call, if you are in those states, you can pay off your mortgage if they have called your cell.

Filed for modification on March 4, 2009. Now almost 15 months later they tell me I am not assigned to a negotiator anymore. I have paid every trial mod payment on time for going on 8 months and have had all my documents perfected for months. Yet no-one can tell me anything. Why did I loose my second negotiator? So, who is working on it.

Yep, that's exactly what they did! I told them I did it, I told them it was tweeted on twitter to the whole world, and they went on my triple credit report and IMPLIED that I had a PROBLEM RESOLVED with my payment on JANUARY 2010. That immediately put a red flag on all my credit card accounts, which were all cut in half. Retaliation of the most horrific kind. This is a corrupt and evil company. Stay away from them.

JPMorgan Chase poor service

I have been checking the online banking system twice a day;and still this month I have close to 100.00 overfraft fees;one for only two dollars!This has never happened before;also in one branch here the teller told me I had to use online banking from now on and that she was only there to bring new customers to the bank;she also did not offer me the best programs on my cd's and did not inform me of all my options;the ones she did offer me seems to have worked better for the bank and not me.When I called to have at least one overdraft fee removed I was told the computer system could not be overided;although it had made mistakes and is not always accurate when I check it online.Also chase gouged my interest rate on my credit cards;right before the new restrictions on cedit companies went into effect.I am withdrawing all my money feom this bank-I feel it is a scam and a ripoff.

I had special promotional rate with chase card and last month payment was late for 1 day, because, payment did not go through. (I mistakenly keyed one more digit on my checking account information), usually other company have a system that we can verify what we keyed in before final transaction, but obviously chase bank did have any of them and they charge me late fee plus returned check fee and also raise the interest rate.

So i decided to transfer my balance to other bank (bank of america). When i do the balance transfer i request more than the amount i owe to chase card. Its been now 14 days since they received money from bank of america, but they are holding my money and saying that they need to research where the money came from and they said it takes 30 days to to it. I really don't understand that they know that money was electronically transfered from other bank and why it takes so many days to refund money.

Basically, they are making money out of from customer's money. If customer late for payment for one day, they charge late fee and all other charges and also increase interest rate and when customer has credit balance, they are holding that money. (What a nice to way to do the business!). They did not even explain the procedure of the researching they are talking about.

Worst customer service ever! ( maybe this is how they make money!)

I hope everyone who reads this aware of how this company do the business.

I have had a checking account at Chase for more than a year and my complaint relates to POOR ADVERTISING and FEES CHARGED. I opened an account at Chase since an ad specified NO OVERDRAFT FEES and GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. I was charged overdraft fees EVERY MONTH. Overdraft fees amounted to $35 per check and some months OVER $350 was deducted from my account. When I called Chase I was told that the check which was deposited DID NOT HAVE TIME TO CLEAR. The check was from US Life Disability and is MY ONLY INCOME SINCE I AM DISABLED. In addition to that, I have an account at Greenwich Bank & Trust for my Social Security disability and when I've tried to transfer money from Greenwich to Chase I'm told to ADD ANOTHER BANK. I've added Greenwich Bank & Trust MULTIPLE times and I'm STILL not allowed to transfer online. I've called Greenwich Bank & Trust and the only way I've been able to transfer money has been to WRITE A CHECK FROM MY GREENWICH BANK AND MAIL IT TO CHASE. I've done that MORE THAN ONCE and it's NOT CONVENIENT. I'm on a LIMITED INCOME and I DO NOT HAVE MONEY TO SPEND ON STAMPS.

During the process of making an on-line payment today, Chase Bank's system froze during Authorize and would not let me print out the Confirmation information.

I called Chase Bank but after talking to four people, two of which had poor working telephone systems, (I was on the phone for approximately 30 minutes), the issue never was resolved. This was also at a bad time for me to be wasting my time on this.

This is not the first time I have had a problem with their Customer Service concerning Internet payment issues. One time they requested that I do something with the computer I was using and it actually made things worse!

95% of the people who complain about a bank is usually the ppl who dnt know how to administer their money and always complaining on how much the bank charges in fees and i agree, times are tough and bank fees are ridiculously high, but the bank wont charge a fee if u know how to take care of your acct and your register is always up to date.

Chase Customer service is the worst. you they haven't transfer my reward points to my new ATM account. and I keep calling and they still haven't done it, CHASE PROMISES STUFF AND SERVICES THAT THEY CAN'T KEEP THERE WORD TO. I HAD FRAUD DONE TO MY ACCOUNT AFTER TWO WEEKS OF OPENING ACCT WITH THIS BANK. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE.

A man from India called me an American pimp and hung up on me. He said I was a miserable pimp. One of Chase's employees. This was after I got the large interest increase.

JPMorgan Chase inexcusably bad service

Chase froze my husband’s account because of an identity theft alert on his account. Chase never called or alerted my husband about the status of his account. The bank refused to allow him to make a deposit or cash any government checks. Which is apparently against the law in this situation. The bank required for him to prove his identity with social security which he did but the account remained frozen. The bank, however, continued to charge fees for all of the electronic transactions that were preset with online banking. They also considered allowing an electronic debit for 999, 999, 999.00. Over a week has gone by and they remain determined to collect the nsf fees that they tacked on from all of this mess before they will even consider to open a new account. Their policies don’t make sense. The customer service is appalling and I would never trust or recommend any business affiliated with Chase.

Chase set up an automatic payment with my checking account without my knowledge. Cost me $300 in overdraft fees. When I called and asked why this was set up and who did it and how, they couldn't answer any questions! Just played dumb and said "I can't see who set this up". I went through all of my documents and there was never anything that agreed to automatic payment. They apparently pulled my checking account info off one of my checks. Never did get my money refunded but they did stop it from happening again. They are crooks.

JPMorgan Chase principal payments

I submitted an separate payment for $5000 additional principal from a monthly statement form I received. I have automatic payments on my mortgage loan taken monthly direct from my bank. At month end, my bank statement showed no monthly loan payment was taken out. I called to ask why, they indicated they had take the $5000 and applied it to may and june loan payments and the balance was put towards an additional principal payment instead of the whole $5000. I had indicated on the form that it was additional principal when I sent the check and they admitted the error. However, they would not correct it because it would show a delinquent payment for may and june on my credit report. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was put on terminal hold. Thank you, Chase, for your committment to customer service...

JPMorgan Chase interest charges after closing account

I paid my Chase Visa balance in full and requested the account be closed. The following month I received a statement saying I owed them $50 in interest charges. I called and got someone who could barely speak english that said it was 'impossible' to reverse these charges. I asked to speak to his supervisor and he argued with me for 5 minutes about how his supervisor couldn't do anything differently. I had to ask 4 more times to speak to the supervisor and I finally was connected to her. She kept telling me that I had to pay the balance in full for two consecutive months before interest charges would stop accruing. I asked her how then, do interest charges EVER stop accruing? If you pay your balance in full there is nothing to charge interest for. Do not do business with this dishonest, customer-gouging company! They got their bailout and do everything they can to squeeze more and more money out of their customers. I think they are dishonest and criminal and told them so. They don't care about anything except making their executives richer.

JPMorgan Chase threating to charge off a account that already was paid

I received a call from Chase Health Advance on yesterday about a payment that was due on the 23rd of May. I mad the payment on May 29th over the internet which they indicated that it was not showing on my account. I got into a Heated argument with them which they called my work number and they were informed not to. I requested to speak to a supervisor and I Spoke to a Ms.Elizabeth Rose that indicated that she was part owner of the company. I them spoke to Mr.Doughty that indicated he was the highest supervisor in the company and I coudlnt speak to anyone but him. He then put me on hold which he was very disrespectful and I hung up the phone. They threaten to charge off an account that has not been any were close to ever being 30 days past due. I will never do business with these people ever again. Just to add food for thought the payment had already been made when the call was initiated.

JPMorgan Chase loan modification fraud

A class action suit should be levied against Chase Mortgage for loan modification fraud. I started the process of modifying my loan after my income fell by more than 50%. I started this process in Feb. '09 and it is now 17 months later and still no answer. I was essentially guaranteed it would only take 3 months but still no answer. I had an excellent credit rating when I started but they were sure it would be 3 months so I agreed. Otherwise, I could have sold the home and moved on. During the first 5 months, they lost all or part of my paperwork so I had to keep starting over. They also put me in the wrong program to start with and did not realize it for 5 months and only after I insisted they check (I was supposed to be in the Obama plan but they said I didn't qualify and moved me to some other program without my permission). I submitted a 4506T form 3 times yet they continue to tell me it doesn't exist or was filled out improperly and I would never have found out if I did not call constantly to get answers. If there is anybody interested in a class action suit and knows of a good attorney, please post. I have filed complaints with the Federal Trade Commission, the Mortgage Finance Authority, my state attorney general, and my congressional representative and still nothing. PLEASE HELP!

Ditto! I was dealing with the same "We need additional Documents so that we can send it to the underwriter" game for way too long. They drug that on for several months. In the very beginning I was instructed not to pay my monthly note as we do not know the new modified amount. And stupid me listened to the "Loan Modification Specialist". The next thing I know I am being informed that my home is being placed into foreclosure. FANTASTIC! This was after months of hearing "Sorry sir we don't have all the required paperwork. We need blah blah. Even after providing required documents the day they requested it...It still wasn't good enough. ... I contacted my "Modification Specialist" and asked why this was happening. The answer was epic "Well Sir, We have attempted to help you with this for too long. We will be proceeding with foreclosure." SO I uprooted my family and relocated. Then found out that CHASE JP MORGAN bought back the house in Sheriff Sale for less than I owed. Then turned around and sold it for more than what I owed. (If that isn't money hungry, I don't know what is!) I need HELP! This has destroyed my credit amongst other things. CLASS ACTION or Federal Suit I'm open for. I just need guidance. I am facing the same situation in New Mexico. I submitted all requested documents to Chase in October 2015, and over the past five months have been told three times my application for mortgage assistance is complete and will be sent to underwriting and I would receive modification options within 30 days. Now 2/17/16 I receive a request for additional documents - showing nothing has been done! I would like to be a part of a class action law suit against Chase for it's failure to offer homeowners timely and proper mortgage modification.

Good News to all victims of loan mod fraud by Chase. No one was listening to us until service men and women serving OUR country were victims too. Now the right people are listening! So JUST hang on.I am a researcher and have survived 9 illegal foreclosure attempts and want to help everyone else do the same. First of all no matter what...don't stop making your payments even if they won't accept them. (You want them to be the ones to breach the contract) You have to go in court with clean hands. TODAY send a certified written request.(bad people are trying to sale you this when it's FREE!) In the request demand within 30 days for a response to . A forensic audit. .Proof of the Document . A MERS report showing who services your mortgage. I am here to tell you don't let them bully you with scare tactics. NO matter what their attys try to use to make you think to sign your rights away DONT YOU DARE! Everytime Chase postpones the monthly foreclosure sales I say "BRING IT!" If they had a legal right to foreclose they would have done it the first time.

I have been through everything that everyone above has been through plus a little more. I'm a widowed single female in my upper 50's and had perfect credit at the time of my husband's death and for the following year and a half after. I had to sell the house we were living in because the mortgage was too high for me to continue. I proceeded to find and buy another house within my budget. I got a loan through CTX mortage with payments of $1013.00 per month and was told my payment would not change. Within a year and a half my loan was turned over to Chase Mortgage and within that year and a half time frame my payments went from $1013.00 to $1100 to $1200 to $1314 to $1430 to the final payment of $1618.00 per month. I tried everything possible to continue making the payments including having roommates move in which did not go well. In Nov of 2008 I lost my job due to the economy. I kept finding temporary work along with unemployment and even found a couple of permanent jobs in 2009 and 2010 which resulted in getting laid off again due to cutbacks. Back on unemployment again, after two months of trying to get approved with Chase Mortgage for the unemployment program, I was finally approved for 6 months and my payments were $500 per month but I always paid $100 more to show my committment. I finally got employment which is where I have been for almost two years now. After receiving my permanent job I tried for a loan modification to get my payment lowered back to around $1000 a month and submitted all the paperwork several times as they never seemed to receive it. I was also told they didn't see a problem and everything looked like it was perfect...all the t's crossed and the i's dotted. Then I get an email telling me that they are trying to get a loan modification through Fannie Mae and I should know something in the next 30 days. Fannie Mae declined me and said that my case was NOT A HARDSHIP! I had other reps tell me they don't know why my case wasn't a hardship case. The next thing I know they are telling me that I can turn the house back over or sell it or put it up for a short sale. I did all the necessary paperwork to get my realtor authoization to set up for a short sale, got it listed and even had a buyer for them but the bank wouldn't accept their offer because it wasn't enough to cover the ADDITIONAL $12000.00 the bank tacked on the account for late fees and interest and so on...I tried calling for the payoff several times and was told that it would take two weeks to be mailed to me or 3-5 days to be faxed to me. The next time I called asking where the payoff information was they transferred me to their attorneys who informed me that they were foreclosing on the the property in the next 21 days and were very RUDE people to talk to. I moved all my things out when it was put up for a short sale but still continued paying the utilities and maintenance on the property. I went over to check on the property only to find that they had changed my locks, disconnected the chain from the garage door and had it hanging on the outside of the garage door and there was a note on the front door stating that the property was now owned by no other than "FANNIE MAE" the ones who wouldn't/couldn't do a loan modification for me. I never received anything in the mail about foreclosure and a sherriff never tried to locate me. As someone said above, if anyone is interested in starting a class action against these crooks count me in as well. If anyone gets any info on how or where we can try to get something done about this please contact me at ladydintx@verizon.net. HELP! We really need someone who cares and doesn't want this to continue happening.

Does anyone know of a class action lawsuit againstt JP Morgan Chase in Texas?!

They completely screwed us on our modification, out of money and our house. It was a two year long process of nothing but a joke! My husband lost his job in September 2008 and in May 2009 we started our modification process. We made our forbearance payments every month, sent all the documents they required every three months. Then discovered that they had two loan modifications opened under our account, but they didn't seem to be concerned every time I advised them of this. Not one person we called could tell us the same thing. I felt like none of them had a clue as to what they were doing, but all I wanted to do was to save our house. Move ahead a year later, so now it's April 2010 and almost $20.000 later in forbearance payments that were NEVER applied to our loan, we receive a letter stating that our modification has been approved and we are required to sign all the documents agreeing to the terms and send it back. Of course we did this immediately. Turns our they never received them so they sent us a second set, again we signed them and Fed Ex'ed them back right away. This time we got confirmation that they documents were received and we can start making our regular mortgage payments in July 2010. We were relieved, until December of 2010 we receive a letter from them stating that we owe them $15, 000 by the end of the month in order to avoid foreclosure. We called them and were advised that they never received our documents agreeing to the modification terms...interesting. You would thing that the 5 months that I made my payments and never received statements but yet would call every month to see why weren't getting them they would have mentioned this to us! No, because they are incompetent idiots that don't know what they are doing. Every Time I called I was told that our account was current and they weren't sure why we were getting our monthly statements but to continue to make our monthly payments. Needless to say in December we were told that the modification was void because they didn't have the signed documents, oh but they offered to let us apply for another modification! Problem is we no longer qualify because we make "too much money". We just stopped paying our mortgage all together, stayed in our home as long as possible and eventually moved into a rental and left the house for the bank to deal with. We are about to file for bankruptcy. JP Morgan Chase are crooks and completely screwed us out of our house that was ours for 6 years and our money! I want in on a lawsuit against them but can't seem to find one in Texas! Any help would be appreciated!

Ditto Ditto Ditto! What a nightmare. Instead of calling them back for the 50th time I am going to spend my time finding a class action lawyer. I did not have time to read thru all the posts here but from what I can tell no attorney has been found.
What did you guys do after the would not modify? I am not sure of my next step. I am not in foreclosure but it is looming.

Have you contacted your congressional representatives? We should all begin bugging the hell out of them to do something about these bank thieves. Hearings were recently held, chaired by Sen Richard Shelby of Alabama. which I watched on CSPAN. He is ranking member of the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs. While I am not a fan of his, he did have access to a lot of information about the unfair treatment mortgagees were getting from the banks. Let's start calling his office with questions about when he is going to do something about this? No class-action lawsuits - only lawyers make money from those. These disreputable people need jail time, and we need to be made whole for the lies, misinformation, and intentional misleading we have suffered. When is this nation going to hold the rich guys accountable again? Never? You can find members of the committee by googling u s senate committees. Call them, too. Let's make ourselves such a nuisance they can't ignore us any more. Remember "the squeaky wheel gets the grease." Let's post here again after we've made calls.

yep, going through the same damn thing, just got another request for all my paperwork again, they said my paperwork was waiting for approval or disapproval. then they sent me another letter demanding paperwork all over again, meanwhile the foreclosure process is still taking place. People contact me from non-profit companies saying $600.00 per month to see if your loan you have with chase is on the up and up . Dont know who the American people are to trust anymore. Its feels like a really bad joke. Here you got a president that puts words on a paper and no one oversees what is really going on with the modification program. They dont have the worries you and I have. Were just a number thats growing . I like some input into Reachingu.net website . Can anyone give me their opinions on this. gail2727@yahoo.com

JPMorgan Chase buyer beware

I was a credit card holder of Providian Financial Services, until it was taken over by Washington Mutual, then about a year ago, it was taken over by J.P. Morgan Chase. In the four years I had this credit card I never had any problem with Providian or Washington Mutual. When Chase took over, I was mailed a letter stating that my APR would be arbitrarily increased by 12% due to the sagging economy. I was given an opt out option to the increase if I was willing to close the account and pay off the balance in regularly monthly payments, (just as I had been), but the card would be inactive and I gladly accepted. I closed the account to keep my APR 9.9% and all seemed fine. I shredded the card, and planned to pay off the balance. My APR did not change for 3 months, when one day I went online and found my APR to be posted as 22%. I called the customer "service" department and was told that they never promised me an opt out and that in fact, they showed no record of my conversation with customer service 3 months earlier! I told them the name of the person I spoke with, the date and time, (as I always write notes with stuff like this), and they denied having anyone by that name working for them. I told them they are committing fraud and that I would report them to the Federal Trade Commission and all agencies I could to include the Better Business Bureau and the person I spoke with said, "you can do as you wish, your APR is still going to be 22%". I told them it could be a cold day in *** before I submit to corporate greed and strong arm business tactics. I also told them they could find someone else to try to screw because the screw was coming back to them this time. I told them I would NEVER pay a dime on this account until the lowered my APR back to 9.9%. I had NEVER missed a payment in all the years I had the card, nor had I overdrawn it. I was I admit paying just over minimum payments for the last 8 months but I was in good standing and should not have been levied a 12% APR increase due to an economy they helped to destroy. To this day (a year later), Chase has not seen a DIME of my money on a $8K account and they will not. I will let a judge lock me up if that is what has to happen first. And believe me, I will get media attention then! I defaulted on the account and my credit rating has suffered, BUT, they are doing it to MANY people and the credit card I just got (through my new bank) is 12% APR and they said not to worry about Chase's ding on my credit report as pretty much everyone affiliated with Chase got hit with this massive arbitrary increase and that numerous people are refusing to pay now. Chase just reported a 3.3 BILLION dollar profit for the first quarter of 2010, and it is from arbitrary increases on otherwise good customers unwilling to stand up to them. I for one will stand against this monster and fight. I can tolerate a low credit score as I don't buy major purchases and rarely use my credit cards now. I still have two others in good standing, so Chase can kiss my ***!

It is my opinion that Chase is a criminal organization and I predict them to be before the feds eventually for their extortion and I hope they collapse to the ground.

A truly EVIL, DECEITFUL, and GREEDY company. BUYER BEWARE!

JPMorgan Chase holds release of lien too long

I did the financially responsible thing and bought a car with cash from a private seller who unfortunately had a loan from Chase Bank. I met her at the bank on May 15 and paid off her loan with cash. The bank representative converted it to a cashier's check, said it would be forwarded to the loan department and I would receive (with their customer's permission of course) the release of lien within 6 days. It is now the 26th and I still have no release. I am still unable to use the vehicle I have paid insurance on since the 15th because I cannot transfer the title and plate it...so it sits in my driveway. I called Chase (the local branch the seller uses in Okemos, MI) and was told by a female that it takes 15 days to receive the release of lien. She offered to have Corey from the loan department call me to see what he could do. To his credit he did return my call the same day. However when I told him I would tell all my friends and family what a poor experience I have had with this bank he hung up on me.

Bottom line...avoid Chase if you care about customer service or expect them to act in a timely manner.

they have to release the lein with the BMV so it takes a while. the goverment never moves fast...
