I purchased a Whirlpool washing machine less than five years ago, and it has already broken. After contacting service, I was told the repair would cost over $900. I then reached out to Whirlpool customer service for assistance. Their solution was to offer $160 toward the purchase of a new washing machine—only if it was bought directly from Whirlpool and installed by Whirlpool for an additional fee.
Given my experience, I see no reason to buy another Whirlpool product or pay extra for their installation. Had the offer been more reasonable to offset the defective product I originally purchased, I might have considered it.
I contacted Whirlpool management multiple times, but while they did respond, there was no meaningful resolution. Although I didn’t expect much, I had hoped the company would stand behind its customers and its products.
Based on this experience, I do not recommend Whirlpool products. The quality is poor, and customer service lacks genuine concern or personal attention.
Recommendation: DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL CRAP
