SCAM! Do Not Rent From Them!
Rented a car for 2 days Fort Lauderdale.
Retuned no problem Agent walked around inspected for damages and gas tank full.
Two months later received a letter from their "partner" company saying I owe $700 for a 4cm scratch on a rim? They say agent does not look for damages since you drive through a camera upon return.
The BBB site shows 198 pages of complaints with half being "rim damage or scratches" Over 50 complaints for rim damages in the last few weeks alone! all for about $700 I've been on the phone over an hour and Priceline will not assist either.
Recommendation: Do not patronize this company

Van Hire Experience
We recently hired two vans on separate occasions and found the service excellent, staff were helpful and informative, vans were brand new or only a year or two old and in excellent condition. Great company to hire from. They don't sub-contract their vehicle hire, unlike other van hire companies (including national companies). Highly recommended

I recently needed to rent an auto while in Arizona. I was quoted a price online and once returning the car, the price was as quoted. Also, no hassle, no trying to add extra coverage etc., Spawntae was the best! The car that I was supposed to rent was not available, so Spawntae upgraded our car at no extra charge! I would highly recommend SIXT and I will definitely use SIXT again!
Fantastic Service
After being very badly let down by a competitor who told me to ring a couple of days prior to request to book a specific hire car, But when I called to book I was informed they had nothing available. Called into your Manchester Piccadilly office spoke to Kenneth & Melanie who said they could supply an SUV which I required, they also made it possible for me to pay by Debit card as I do not have a credit card.
All the staff at Sixt have been very helpful and they will be my first choice next time I require a Hire car

My terrible experience with DoYouSpain.com opened the door to the opposite experience with Sixt Rental Cars. After being refused a rental by DoYouSpain's partner, Goldcar, I went to the adjacent window at the Tenerife airport. The staff at Sixt Rental Cars was friendly and warm and rented me a car with no problem. There's a Sixt Rental Cars near my Porto, Portugal home. I have rented cars from them three times, with the same friendly, thorough, polite, professional interaction and clean cars in impeccable condition. I highly recommend Sixt Rental Cars.
THE BEST RENTAL EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD
The young lady at Sixt was Shayna C. She made me feel at easy after having a very scary commute. It was my first time traveling by myself. I had a family member to pass in Los Angeles so after i arrived at the airport the shuttle bus picked me up and this is when I meet Shayna. She was so friendly as well as professional. She reassured me that even if was a little late, I would be taken care off, I would not be left without transportation in this big city. As reassuring as she was I felt I could relax and I did. Within a few minutes she had done just what she promised. Claiming damage for invisible chip on the front window shield without data stamped photos before and after the rent
during the acceptance of the car SIXT indicated an invisible chip on the front windshield, which is not visible neither to the eye nor on the photos they sent. I did not see it. However the manager pursuaded me to sign the acceptance act, saying that since it is not visible, SIXT will not make any claims. I did not see any chips neither during the rental period nor afterwards. It is also not visible on the photo report. Now SIXT claims damage in the amount of 1764,50 Euro + VAT which looks equal to the windowshield itself though the chip can not be seen anywhere.

Car Rental Barcelona
We residents of Melbourne visiting Spain hired car rental in Barcelona in our booking we specified SUV and we have imposed to take Sedan and with a promise to get the SUV from. Ghirona Airport, representative called us and told us that car had punctured tyre which will be replaced and was advised to collect the car in h hour and he called again saying car has to go to garage for repair and no SUV available….
When we booked we got confirmation of Similar SUV and not delivered…

Caution to renters of SIXT
Caution to renters! I booked a car through Expedia, paying an upfront fee of $487. Initially, the car wasn't available at the airport despite availability, forcing me to spend over $50 on a taxi to the downtown Seattle office. I had bought insurance via Expedia as a precaution, only to be informed at the office that it wouldn't cover the vehicle. The customer service representative (CSR) urged me to buy additional insurance without disclosing the cost and charged an extra $335 deposit fee not included in the Expedia bill. He arranged for me to return the car to the airport when I was due to fly out, or so I was led to believe. I enjoyed driving the Rav 4 for the week without any issues. However, as my departure neared, I received an email claiming I had returned the car late and incurred an extra $76 in late fees. When I contacted the CSR, I was told the drop-off time had been set 13 hours before my flight, which was a clear error. The CSR on the phone was uncooperative and insisted on charging me. Fortunately, the SIXT office staff at the airport amended my drop-off time graciously. Yet, days later, SIXT billed me an additional $123 for airport drop-off and extra insurance costs—services I was initially told were redundant. I was unaware of any airport drop-off fee, as it was never mentioned by the CSR. Beware of hidden charges from this company; I will definitely not be using their services again.

Rental pre existing damages
When I picked up my vehicle I walked around the car and I saw some damages and when I brought it to the attention of the attendant he said that it's clearly stated on the rental agreement and I took he's word for it. But now that I returned the vehicle I get an email saying that I owe 2k for some minor damages so I went to check my agreement and it doesn't say anything about any damages.
Although the damages were minor and in no way equal to 2,000 it is still damages that were there before and I am not liable at all to anything that happened before I picked up my rental

Misleading upselling of a vehicle
Arrived at the desk after a 9 hour flight and the agent said the car we booked wasn't available and he was giving us an upgrade at no extra cost to us.
When I got my invoice the next day there was a charge for €200 for an optional upgrade. I emailed Sixt straight away and got no response. When I was dropping the car back I put in a complaint to the guy on the desk and he said a supervisor will phone me but the phone call didn't come. The charge has been stopped from our credit card and still no word back from Sixt.
Desired outcome: $200 plus tax refunded to my card.

Cancelation Refund
Today I made a reservation to pick up a rental car @ San Antonio, TX on April 8, 2024. (Confirmation #[protected]). Within an hour, my wife and I concluded that we needed to cancel the reservation ... and I did. Nearly immediately I received an email confirming the cancelation but indicating that my card will be charged a $100 no show penalty.
I consider the notion that early (in fact, nearly immediate) cancelation of a reservation that is two months into the fiuture can incur a no-show penalty absurd. What cost did Sixt actually incur to justify such an outrageous attempt to violate consumer trust and misappropriate his/her funds?
I demanding all funds authorized under the initial reservation be immediately refunded to my account in full and free of any extraneous "no show" penalty.
Desired outcome: Immediate and full reimbursement of exactly $1710.02 to my account.

Extremely bad customer service! I flew to Georgia on Feb 3rd for my dad's funeral. Went to pick up SUV I preordered at airport & they didn't have it. My offer was a lower class 7 passenger SUV or pay for upgrade. I didn't agree so the manager Cherrett Callaham's solution was to cancel my reservation without my request! The worse customer service & unprofessional experience I've experienced! Customers aren't valued so buyer's beware!

Damage invoice
I rented a car from sixt austria in september. No personnel performed a vehicle check while picking up and delivering the vehicle. I picked up the car from the parking lot and left it in the parking lot. I did not have any accidents during the rental period. I always left the car in secure parking lots. My deposit was refunded at the end of the rental. But 3 days later they told me that there was damage to the car and sent me an invoice. After I left the car, someone may have got into the car and damaged it. I do not accept this damage. However, the company insists on paying. I also rent a car in turkey. When I pick up and deliver, they take photos of the car and make me sign a form. The sixt company did none of these things.

flat tire
I rented a car back in October in Seattle WA and purchased a premium coverage on the vehicle while I was renting it. It had two packs of cigarettes in the driver's side, and I don't smoke. Drove it over the hotel when it went flat on me the following day on my Uncles Funeral. Now I'm being called about the flat tire charged a whole year later out of nowhere for $300 +/- dollars.

SIXT Car Rental
I rented a car from SIXT car rentals from Oct 27-30 I was charged $400 smoking fee which I disagree with. I didn't find out until after my card was charged. I think its sneaky and underhanded. This is something that could have been discussed when I returned the car. Instead, I can't refute the claim because I don't live in the Newark NJ area. It's just a bad look on SIXT part. How do I know the integrity of the person or persons who made this decision? It sounds like a cash grab when you're blindsided after the fact.
False claims damage
Allow me to start by saying I am very displeased with my experience from renting cars through IAH airport in Houston Texas. I have had numerous go arounds and bad experiences that have been nothing less than problematic. I recently rented a car from Sixt who I did not prefer to rent from, however suppliers choice assigned me the company. I was very hesitant to rent from Sixt at the suppliers suggestion, based on the poor reviews that I had previously researched. Sixt held a $200 deposit on my American Express credit card on 10/25. They released the deposit on 10/30 and on the same day they sent me a seperate email stating claims damage. Furthermore, during pick up the Sixt representative was constantly trying to shove toll passes down my throat even after I told him I would only be traveling on the I10 which does not require toll fees. I also had a reservation for a uhaul that I drove the majority of my stay in Houston. For the most part, the car had been parked as I had to move large furniture that wouldnt fit in a smaller vehicle. In addition I've had a handicap plaque card for the past four years which allows more space when parking. Furthermore I have a clean driving record of over 35 years. Getting to the meat and potatoes. I arrived to IAH a little after 4pm to depart on my 5:30pm flight. Sixt did not email me until over 13 hours after I dropped off the rental car that there was damage to the rim. Damage should have been evident sooner than 12 hours later. When I called to speak to a claims representative, she adamantly stated "If I don't provide pictures I don't have a case". Luckily I took pictures of the vehicle at drop off since I had a similar experience at this same airport with Hertz car rental earlier this year when they attempted to charge me $300 claiming I did not return the fob and that was later reversed upon them discovering it was their own employees fault that the fob had been misplaced. Please do your research before you rent from these car companies at IAH airport. Be very weary at IAH. The rental car companies will try to scam you. They will finesse you if they think they can. If you don't want to take my word for it, read Sixt rental car reviews on any website just like I did. DO NOT FALL FOR THE HYPE. Take heed to everyones experience and save yourself the trouble. Even if the rate is cheaper, it's a set up. That is exactly how they got me. They lower the rate to lure you in and then they attempt to scam you in the end with false excessive charges. My American Express credit card company is already on board to help investigate these false allegations. I have also filed a complaint with the BBB and the state attorney generals office. I will continue to spread my Sixt nightmare experience via word of mouth and wherever possible on the web until I am satisfied that this matter has been resolved. Sixt rental car is demanding I pay $601 within one week to satisfy this false claim. I wish I knew of a class action law suit that I could participate in. In the meantime this may end up being a small claims/civil matter because I will not be bullied into paying for something that I did not do.
Car rental
I rented a car from Sixt in London. I rented the largest car I could find to fit my family of 4 and our luggage. the car I picked was a Mercedes E class. on the site and on my reservation the rental states 7 passenger with 6 bags. when I got to the front desk I got the classic "bait and switch" the front desk attendant told me the car I rented only sat 4 people with maybe room in the hatch for 2 bags, due to the fact that it was a hybrid. I showed him my reservation with the 7 passenger and 6 bags, he said the site was wrong. He said that the only car that could accommodate me was a much more expensive car. He told me that since I had the original stating the size promised that I could reach out to the management and they would take care of it. So I took the car. Managment said they wouldn't help because I agreed to the update. Even after I send them all the documentation to support my claim. Additionally, the car I got had a flat tire. I told the attendant that there was a warning light on the dash. He told me to ignore it and that the tire was replaced. It wasn't. Half way through Great Britian the car started to veer to the left hard. I slowed down for 30 miles and get to a rest stop. the tire was almost flat. I limped the car to Edinburgh to a Sixt location, the attendant found the issue and said, the tire was not replaced. I took a picture in the lot of the gauge and the guy that told me that the car was safe. I have had several communications with their management. will all my evidence to my horrible experience they wouldn't do anything. when you rent from this company you are powerless as they don't car and they know you can't do anything about it. I have never had a worse experience with a rental company!

This complaint concerns Sixt Rent a Car Reservation #[protected].
I believe that I am a recent victim of a clear case of “bait-and-switch” fraud perpetrated by the Sixt Rent a Car location at the Baltimore Washington International (BWI) Airport.
In the early morning hours of October 1, 2023, I arrived to the Sixt Rent a Car counter at BWI and was informed by the attending associate that the Economy Compact Vehicle that was advertised and booked via Priceline earlier that evening, was unavailable.
I was further told that I could either wait an additional 45 minutes in the hopes that an Economy Class vehicle would be returned within that timeframe or I could upgrade to the next available vehicle class, at my own expense. At no point did the associate volunteer that this situation should warrant a free upgrade, per business agreement between Priceline and Sixt Rent a Car. After having traveled for nearly 25 hours, I capitulated and agreed to upgrade to a BMW 3 series sedan. I was also told by the associate that as I only possessed liability insurance to the rental vehicle (again pre-purchased via Priceline), I would also be required to purchase additional coverage against bodily injury.
For a nine-day rental, I was charged that morning $277.83 (vehicle upgrade) and $152.91 (additional liability insurance coverage) for a total of $462.69. This amount was in addition to the $566.09 that I had already paid to Priceline.
I was subsequently informed by Priceline that for me to resolve my dispute, I needed to directly contact the Billing Call Center for Sixt Rent a Car.
In my brief but frustrating conversation with a customer service representative, I was repeatedly told that as I had signed the rental agreement for the upgrade on that early morning, I had no standing to dispute the additional charges. When I asked the representative to speak to his manager, he flippantly replied that his manager’s response would the same as his.

When I corrected to adjust the time the price jumped one hundred dollars. I have both quotes. I thought the jump in price seemed to be a wrong way to deal with your customers.

Rental denial
I made a reservation for Italy with Sixt, from September 19 to the 29, 2023; for pick up at Bari train station, returning the vehicle at the Brindisi Airport (reservation number [protected]).
I received the confirmation well in advance of my rental, so I thought everything was OK.
When I showed up at the Sixt office at the Bari train station, I provided my California driver's license, my US passport and my credit card; but I was denied the car rental because I didn't have the International Driver's License. Important to notice is that the Sixt representatives were absolutely not helpful, show that they didn't care about my situation and provided no alternative solution to my problem.
After many months of organizing our trip, I was devastated (and still am), my Puglia vacation was completely ruined.
When I looked at the condition of rental, I did not see any reference to the need to have an International Driving License.
I rented cars in Italy many times before, and as a matter of fact, in September of 2021 I rented with Sixt and I wasn’t asked to show any International Driver's License.
Desired outcome: I would like an explanation for the inconsistency in requirements and an apology from Sixt. As well as some kind of compensation for ruining my vacations in Puglia, Italy.
Rental car overcharge
I rented a car in Los Angeles, returned it after one day as I no longer needed it. signed out with checkout person. Went to hertz to pick up a different car. I never relied receipt until 3 days later. Receipt claimed I returned car on 7/20 at 904pm. they produced a fraudulent electronic signature receipt. I flew out at 6am that am, so I physically could not have signed at that time. Furthermore their receipt had contradictory information. Claiming I returned the car they day before(still not accurate). however they have no signed electronic receipt for that drop-off. I was in a different part of LA at the time I can document that I couldn't have returned car then either. furthermore they sent a damage claim on car, which didn't exist when I had car, and the photo of the hand of the person in photo was a female and not the person I returned car to. They subsequently refused to return my charge, and took my security to boot. I sent my flight information, garage from hotel info, and other supporting docs but to no avail. Im writing here before I contact my lawyers. Sixt has committed billing, Maile Fraud and stealing my security deposit. They have told me I can no longer rent with them and they will try to impact my credit.
Desired outcome: send me my actual signed contract, reverse all current charges, stop coming after me for this. I am happy to pay for my one day rental, on providing receipt I actually signed Sixt clearly has employees committing fraud.
Overcharged
I returned the car I rented at the Phoenix airport the day and time I reserved it for and pre paid with a deposit. They said I had the car 3 extra days then I had rented it for. I have the airline confirmation that I was on the flight the day I dropped the car off. I feel fraud with this company. If I returned the car to the wrong spot where all the cars from the companies at the airport they should have security cameras. They are ignoring my requests to have this looked into, and keep saying I had the car 3 extra days. I dropped the car off where I was guided to at the airport. FRAUDULENT company

Overcharged
I was overcharged by more than $500 usd for extra 4 days. Although I returned the car on time. They assured me that my rental is closed. But a week later I found out that the have not closed my contract! I have called many times, I sent the boarding pass as a proof of my departing DFW on the right day.
