On January 26 at approximately 4:30, I shopped at your Turnersville store in NJ. The cashier forgot to give me my senior discount. He asked a manager who was also checking how to do it but it wasn't right. He told me I got the discount but it didn't show on my receipt so I came back in with several bags and asked to speak to a manager. The first manager sent me to a second manage who was at the counter but not checking (I'm sorry did not get their names). She looked at the receipt and said it has to be redone. I asked do I have to get back in line? She simply said yes. The line was extremely long and I had several bags. I said, "but it's the cashier's mistake." She still said you have to get in the back of the line. She eventually finished what she was doing and walked away. I'm had already waited a long time while the first cashier tried to figure out what to do. Poor customer service! She should have opened up a register and fixed my purchased. I asked the first manager if she could open another register. She looked at a list and said no. There was no reason why the second manager couldn't have stopped what she was doing and fixed my issue especially since it was a staff's mistake. I bet the cashier was never retrained to learn how to do this type of transaction either. I worked in customer service and management and this is very bad customer service. Managers need to know how to prioritize if a problem comes up they need to fix and yes it might mean extra work but that's the job. I no longer will shop at this store. I hope Ross corrects this behavior because it does affect sales.

Also, management policies for markdowns is horrible. The system at Ross does not pick up the discount at the register unless the item has a markdown sticker. It has happened to me more than once at different stores, the staff is doing markdowns but haven't gotten to all the products that are on sale. Management will not let the staff scan items for customers before they get to
register. This results in the customer not getting the sale price and this is not fair. Ross should either have enough scanners at the register so cashiers can double check the price at checkout or there should be a floater(s) assigned to the sales floor who could scan items for shoppers. These employees could do other tasks during markdown season example put clothes back, size racks, etc). Yes, it may cost more to have more employees on but this system is just not fair to the shopper.
