Lousy service center
This is the 3rd and final time I am going to that lab! First experience, I waited 3 hours with my 3 year old son in tow. My request for an update on how long it would take was met with, "We don't know. We'll call you when it's your turn." While we waited, the Tyra Banks show came on the flat screen TV in the waiting room. She was interviewing lesbian couples and she was showing video clips of these women passionately French kissing each other. I asked for the manager who was sitting right there at the desk and requested that she change the channel because I felt it was inappropriate content for children to be watching. WAKE UP PEOPLE! Second visit, I submitted the lab slip from my doctor and was told they couldn't make out the handwriting for one of the tests. I told them the name of the test my doctor ordered and they IGNORED me! "We have to call the doctor and verify the name of the test." Once again, I told them the name of the test. They continued to IGNORE me and told me to take a seat. They wasted a bunch of time calling another Quest location after they were put into the voice mail at my doctor's office. Finally, they told me, "The Teterboro, NJ lab will have to call your doctor when they get your blood and ask what test is supposed to be done." INFURIATING! Finally, today, I took my 3 year old son in for blood work and requested the smallest pediatric needle they had. I was told that they only had one size butterfly needle. I had prepared my son for the blood work by telling him what they would do, step by step and helped him practice deep breathing so he would be relaxed. He did fine until the blood stopped flowing and the lab tech started DIGGING AROUND IN HIS ARM FOR THE VEIN! I finally said, "You're killing me! Can you please try his other arm?" She ignored me until my son let out a blood curdling shriek followed by uncontrollable crying! It took 3 of us to hold him down so she could draw the blood from his other arm. Outrageous! Then she put 6 inches of medical tape on top of the gauze on each of his arms before we left. Later that day, he screamed and cried AGAIN as I tried to remove all the tape from his arms. His poor skin was red and swollen from all the excess tape used. Why don't they have competent people working here!

Pediatric blood draw
I went for blood work for my 7 months old daughter. The technician who drew the blood did a pathetic job. Inspite of me asking her to draw blood from her fist (she has had her blood drawn at her Pediatrician's) the technecian said she could find a vein in her arm and pursued. The blood never came out and my daughter started crying madly. She kept on...

I am pregnant and have no maternity benefits with my insurance. My doctor negotiated a lower rate to help me out. The hospital negotiates a lower rate to help me. Yet Quest claims they have no such thing and that I must pay in full unless I make under 40K per year for a family of 4! Of course my family of 4 makes more than that as most do. I wish I could...

Be careful about paying bills from Quest Diagnostics. Both my husband and myself have been "balance billed" by Quest for labwork. Quest is a preferred provider for both our insurance companies. Our insurance companies secure deep discounts from Quest for services (ex. insurance pays $30 when Quest billed for $310). Quest is not happy about this despite the...

Quest lab tech did NOT open the needle and syringe in front of me, he took them out of a box, already opened. After drawing my blood, he dropped the gauze on the counter and then picked it up to put on my wound.
The place was shabby, dirty and very unclean. I am furious that I didn't realize what was going on. Blood diseases can be very serious and even fatal (like HIV).
I am very unhappy and complaining as much as I can.

Blood work appointment
I made an appointment with this agency on 1-16-09 for to be seen on 1-21-09 at 7am for some blood work on my 9 yr old. I signed at 6:55am. The staff were chatting with each other while the waiting room was full with about 12-15 people waiting to be served. I noticed that clients were coming in after I and were taking back with-out an appointment and the...

On may 30 I went for a blood draw when I went to my doctors office there were no results after two days of phone calls they said they would send the results to the doctor's office which turned out to state not sufficient sample to perfom test. this was the fifth time this has happened which I registerded a complaint prior and was assured this would not happen again. After making more phone calls I keapt being told I have to speak to the manager of that collection facility. which was just a voice mail and mt phone calls were never returned. I went back again on Dec 5 for my next routine test and low and behold again the results stated insufficient quantity for test again everyone I spoke to refurred me back to the manager to the collection facility and once again I only get her voice mail with no return phone calls.

Poor staff
I took my 9 month old son for blood test to Quest Diagnostics Lab which was referred by his pediatrician. They were first not able to understand the code writeen in the test paper provided by the doctor. They took 1 hr to break the code. Then there was just one specialist who takes the blood from kids so we had to wait really long. Ultimately they took the...

I worked for a decade at Quest Diagnostics with a clean record. About a year ago my Mom took ill. She only had 3 months to live. We were very close and the grief hit me very hard. I had 5 bosses I was there long. When I had problems with the grief, instead of talking to me about my changed behavior they fired me. I am still unemployed after one year. They...
