unauthorized use of card
I had googled a question about my car, and justanswer.com popped up and could connect me to a Pontaic Tech. Ask my question, then was asked how much i would pay for the info. I picked the 9 dollar amount, It plainly stated that I would not be charged unless I was satisfied with my answer, Well, my bank account was charged the 9 dollars, I still have not recieved an answer, so I went back on the site, my balance is 9 $ so i asked my question again, now I was asked if I wanted to pay 30, 40 or 50 for my answer, I asked the exact question, so now like others I will be fighting to get my money back... quite a rip off

Justanswer.com - UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES TO MY CREDIT CARD!
I used this service for one question...just found out that they have billed my credit card account multiple times which was NOT AUTHORIZED! I have contacted my credit card company regarding this fraudulent activity and have contacted a good friend who is an attorney who is giving me guidance on the matter and she will represent me if it comes to that. This is simply unacceptable. On their website they say you can ask for a refund by logging in to your account. WHAT ACCOUNT? I didn't write anything down because I used this service ONE TIME and never expected to use it again. I'm sure that I established some time of "log in" information when I asked the question, but I did not expect to have "an account" I am a hard working professional and I do not take kindly to companies trying to take money from me that they are not entitled to.
I AM FURIOUS!

AN UPDATE - 4/17/10:
Since my last posting, I have received emails from Mr. Nino Cavenecia:
"Nino Cavenecia
Customer Support Manager
JustAnswer Corp.
[protected] x7908 (direct)
[protected] (facsimile)
nino@justanswer.com"
Mr. Cavenecia addresses the issues I posted about, including that of JustAnswer.com not being recognized as a certified TRUSTe member, and in fairness to them, I am now satisfied that they are.
Why the TRUSTe website showed them not to be a certified member previously(as shown in my post above)I do not know, but Mr. Cavenecia has now resolved that issue to my satisfaction.
Of course, this was not the underlying problem, which was the misuse of my identity and credit card information.
As I know know that JustAnswer.com IS a certified member of TRUSTe, I have filed a complaint with TRUSTe against JustAnswer Corp. and after their review of the details, they(TRUSTe) have agreed that it is a valid complaint and will be investigating it.
From TRUSTe: April 14.2010:

To the cowardly "anonymous" "JustAnswer "team":
Doesn't your "Customer Support Manager" have a Name? What is it? What is HIS email address? How can I "Truste" you to forward it to him? Why do you NEED to forward it? Why can't he contact me directly...If you are SINCERE?
Attempting to put a positive spin on your criminal actions will not fly.
I have already notified Truste and filed a complaint against you.
And I have closed my account with you.
I have also visited all the websites you forwarded my personal AND CC information to. And closed any accounts you opened for me...WITHOUT my permission and WITHOUT even notifying me. And stopped all the "Free Offers" you signed me up for WITHOUT my permission.
What is the value of contacting your "Customer Support Manager"?
To receive more unhelpful BS from you?
Where the hell do you get the nerve to give out my personally identifiable information, email address, and worst of all, my CC info? Don't you know that's against the Law?
I'm sure you do...but you don't really care, do you?
And I'm equally sure that your absurd post is just scripted and as insincere and patronising as it sounds!
"Again, thank you for taking the time to offer us feedback". Yeah, right!
Please. How are you going to give me back the time I had to spend undoing your criminal actions?
And visit the "Truste web site through your link? Of course it will say you are a "certified" member...on YOUR fake link.
I visited Truste from OUTSIDE your web page and phony link...and THEY (The REAL Truste) said you are NOT a certified member.
That's why they are taking action against you!
Didn't you read my post?
Try again. Or get someone to explain it to you...
JusrAnswer this post...hypocrites!
BEWARE! DON'T USE "JustAnswer"! They have a LOT to answer FOR!
Pass it on...

JustAnswer.com sent my CC information to other websites the day after I paid $13 for a Mac answer
(which I actually found acceptable)
I then began receiving emails from web sites, "confirming my order, "thanking me for signing up for Free Trials, ""Letting me know the Spanish Course I ordered was being shipped", etc.
I was about to call my credit card company when the phone rang...and guess who? It was my CC company, calling me to ask about possible fraudulent activity on my card.
After we went through all the fraudulent charges, I had to cancel my CC account and the bank has begun an investigation
.
I went back to the JustAnswer.com site, as I recalled that they displayed the "Truste" seal on their website.
I clicked on the Truste seal and JustAnswer.com displayed a page saying they were a "Truste"certified website, yada yada yada.
But when I went to the Truste website directly and entered a complaint, they said that JustAnswer.com was NOT a Truste certified member.
I reported their fraudulent use and display of the Truste seal to them and they supposedly will take action against "JustAnswer.com!
I also had to contact all these third parties to get them to stop sending(cancel) the stuff I did not order, and the "Free Trials", etc.
JustAnswer.com did not just sell or give my email address away...they actually gave out my CC information!
These 3rd parties were actually billing stuff to my CC!...and they got my CC info from "JustAnswer.com.
These guys are not just double billers and scammers that don't have real experts to provide answers..they are Credit Card thieves that sell your CC info!
JustAnswer.com should be immediately shut down and the owners arrested for fraud, CC Theft and Identity theft!
GO TO HELL, JustAnswer.com...answer that!
Dear scamed,
I’m very sorry to hear about your experience on our site. I’m Nick and I work for JA. I have sent you a private message so I can take care of your refund immediately.

unauthorized credit card charge
I asked a vet about pet poisoning. It was my understanding that it was free for the first visit and would not be charged unless I used them again. My dog died anyway. The vet said it was acid reflux, but that was a bunch of bull!

scam
I wanted an answer to something troubling me..went to just answer.com, submitted my question, clicked on what I was willing to pay and they said they had someone registered under my e-mail acct. name and the page would not budge . After repeated attempts to undo the damage because I certainly did not get an answer of any kind because without my e-mail the program would not move forward. I had no choice but to x out of there. I called visa immediately and YES! the amount I had agreed to was already out there on my bill. They have to know no services were received!. Their program was set up by them, duh! I get the next duh!Don't even try to use them. I looked for a telephone number still thinking I could defend my use of MY e-mail address. There is no number. They know what they are doing!

Why can't you stop doing this comment business and get on with it?
How many times do I have to tell you that you need to credit my credit card account in the sum of $22.00. Dont' ask me again!
My comment is the same as I stated before. I feel that your company should credit my credit card account $22.00.
My comment is the same as I filled in before.
I have been billed $11 on 6/10/2010, and another $11 on 7/10/2010. I paid $11 for an answer I received earlier this year which was O.K. I do not owe anything further. A total of $22.00 needs to be taken off my credit card account. My name is Patricia A. Bird.
When I went on line to ask a divorce lawyer a question, I agreed to pay the $15.00 but for one time only! It is on my credit card statement again. This needs to be credited and taken permanently off of my account!
over charged
Used their medical site 02/23/10. Agreed amount was $18.00. One question asked, One accepted answer. Case closed, right? No! They double charged the amount agreed upon $18 now totaling $36! My intention now is to go to my bank and file fraudulent charges against justanswer.com as they do not respond to any of my inquiries.

unauthorized credit card charges
For those not familiar with this site, justanswer.com provides the user with access to professionals from doctors to lawyers to directly answer any and all questions you may have. For each question asked, if you like the response you receive, you are expected to pay one of three fees. If you didn't care for the answer or found it to be unhelpful, you're not required to pay. Additionally, before posting any questions, you're required to make an initial deposit via your credit card.
My trouble started after receiving my response from an expert. I had made a $15 deposit and had given the site my card number. After choosing to accept the response and pay for the advice I was given, I was directed to another screen that was not altogether clear in its directions, but seemed to be prompting me to verify how much I was willing to pay. In thinking this, I typed in $15, and, immediately feeling uneasy, checked my bank account online.
Apparently, this screen was prompting me to make an additional deposit so that I could ask further questions and, when I checked my account, I found that I had been charged an additional $15.Realizing the mistake, I immediately contacted customer service by sending one email to technical support and another one to a link which offered a 'good faith refund' on all deposits made. Neither email was responded to, and I simply went to bed that night expecting the situation would be resolved by morning. After all, the second charge had been incurred as a result of my misunderstanding one of the screens, so there was no reason to expect I would have any further problems.
When I woke up the next day, I checked my bank account to see if my $15 had been restored, and found instead that an additional $30 had been added to my account. I was forced to cancel my credit card and send for a new one to avoid any further charges, and, despite sending yet another email, I have heard nothing from the site. In the end my one question ended up costing me a whopping $60, and I'm very disappointed with the unresponsiveness ofcustomer service. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and would advise anyone who intends to do business with this site to really consider how much the answer to their question is worth to them.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
It is very clearly worded "$5 to speak with a lawyer for this question" with a $60 monthly fee thereafter.I only authorized $5 for the stupid, unhelpful and obvious answer I received. It's a bait and switch scam.

£20 taken from my credit card without my consent
On 4th february 2017, using google, I went into justanswer.com. I asked a question "as an administrator, could I share my vodafone pay as you go mobile broadband with another userid area on my computer. The other area is called guest and does not have a password. I had tried various things and thought that if there was a way of allocating a password to the guest area without deleting the area then I could get the mobile broadband to work". I asked the question if they could tell me how to create a password on the guest area.
The answer I was given was from bill, whose online handle was cyberwerx and claimed to be an it solutions architect with 35+ years corporate experience designing and deploying wintel pcs, servers, clusters and sans.
The answer given did not change anything and I was in the same situation as when I started. They were going to charge me & pound;10 at this point but I never pressed the accept button. I was encouraged to give further details as to what had happened but the reply form did not work. I could not click the reply button. There was an accept button on the screen but I did not press it.
I then asked a question again on the home screen to give me further information as I did not have the same screen setup as he had and could not enter in the same details. His answer was not possible for me. The charge now came up as & pound;20 but I still did not press the accept button. At this point I gave up and left the site.
I find today that & pound;20 was taken out of my credit card account on 5th february to justanswer *experts myjabill.com ca
This is without my knowledge and without my acceptance.

Now suicidal! have put a detail urgent request through for help all they want is my money of which I have none of. Also this is an American site of which they will have no idea of what I'm talking about, since the American system is quite different to here. Oh yes they want to help but I have to pay first! I still can't shut their web page down until I shut my computer down.
I don't need this ### I need professional help now, as this is really serious...
Is there any humanity out there any more or is the evil $$$ the only thing people are after when some one is really venerable?

I asked a question regarding a problem with my TV, for which I received a helpful answer, and so i was happy to pay the approx AU$ 22 fee. I am not happy to keep paying that fee every month however, even though I only used the service on one occasion last December. I contacted JustAnswer by email and phone (from Australia to San Francisco, so not a local call charge involved there) to let them know that an amount of approx $20 - $22 was being deducted from my credit card every month without authorisation and initially received a response that encouraged me to believe this was an honest mistake that would be rectified, and I would be refunded the excess charges, and teh monthly deductions would be stopped. Unfortunately this doesn't appear to be the case as the deductions have continued, there has been no refund of the excess charges (now in the vicinity of AU$ 120), and there has been no response to my numerous recent emails asking for an update on a solution to this problem. Like many others, I've discovered this appears not to be a reputable business, but a scam. My only option now is to cancel my current credit card, which is a pain because I'll also have to re-organise numerous legitimate monthly deductions from that account. I'm not impressed!
I emailed Just Answer for help with a Legal enquiry. I was not able to access any answers sent to me due to problems with their computer system. I emailed their Technical department and after follow all of their instructions I was still not able to gain access to information.
On the 28/7/2017 my bank account was debited $78.28. My account was then debited with the amount of $97.85 on the 4/8/2017.
I request that the monies be refunded as I never received any of the requested information.
What a waste of money for NO information.

A little while ago, a charge showed up on my account from this company Just Answer. I don’t know who they are or how on earth they got my credit card number. I never authorized this. It was only a $15 charge, but they could keep charging me for who knows what and if they do these charges could really start adding up. I may have to cancel my credit card.
I once did a “Just Ask” thing for my dog, but for that I used a completely different credit card. That charge was also $15 dollars, but I did authorize this payment and it was paid months ago.
I thought maybe that this “Just Answer” could be related to the “Just Ask” company I used, but that still doesn’t explain how they got my credit card number and charged that account. So far they’ve only billed me once, but if they did it once without my permission I am sure they will do it again.
Has anyone else been scammed like this or charged without their permission by this “Just Answer” company? Does anyone know who they are? I am worried on how they got my credit card number and what other information they could get from me.
I requested from just answer a referral of a Mechanic or a Auto shop that had a mechanic
that was good on working on a mazda Rotary Engine, I never received a positive reply, just some advice on how to do a tune up on this engine, That is not what I requested. But I was doubled billed for a non requested answer, once in May and once in June. HOw can I get my payment returned.
Thank you
William Pierce
Bait and switch site. Show you your "experts" but these are not the people who answer your question. We asked a specific question about a commercial truck engine, particular make and model. The "experts" we were shown were mechanics for the company that makes this engine. But the guy who answered our question was not a truck mechanic. AND HIS ANWERS WERE JUST COPIED FROM THE INTERNET! Save your time and money. You make a deposit and pay the sham "expert" after you get an answer. They say you can get your money back from the deposit, but there is no recourse to do so. The only other thing to do if you don't like your answer is to use your deposit money, money you have already paid them, for a different question from yet another so called expert who sits in a recliner and surfs the internet for answers. Also was told we would have an answer within 2 hour time frame (1 hour and 42 minutes to be exact...), did not get our copied internet replies until the next day. Will plrobably have to change my credit card number so these crooks don't go shopping. Will file with Better Business Bureau as bait and switch.

I only asked them one question. Thought it was just a one of payment but they have taken over £40out of my account each month. stupid of me to give my details. Have tried to contact them but very difficult. Funny my question to them was unauthorised funds being taken from my accout. Just as they are doing. "Should be ashamed of themselves" In total over £100 taken out of my account.
I canceled this service after my one question. I will not use it often enough to pay each month you were very polite said it was done and I would get no more charges. I told you if I needed help again I would deffinately use your service again but I just found out you have been taking a $24.00 charge. Please stop and refund my money. I tried to go on my old account and reach you but there was no way?

I have some old [protected]) Word for Windows files which I put passwords on. (I know the passwords). I now operate Windows 7, with Office 2017 and it will not recover these files. I asked how may I recover them. I was told to deposit $US30, which would be refunded in full if an answer was not forthcoming within one month. That was last January, 2017. Now it is April, 2017. I have had no answer to my problem and no refund has been offered. I fear I have been scammed.
just answer I love all my experts but the company itself is no good. I spend a lot of money on this site thewy took away my option to write about my experts. just gave us faces. That dosen't tell the whole story because you can be happy with a answer but still not happy with the expect also they remove my add fund if i want to pay additional money I really can't I don't like to keep making single transactions. so the expects i have are great. but the company just answer it self is no good. give me freedom. also the pictures of happy customers are fake i ran them through tin eye. Why don't they use the real customers that are happy with the service.
a misrepresentation through claimed expert
I was looking for a solution to a oil boiler heating problem and decided to try this site out - the so called expert had little or limited knowledge of my problem, was from the usa; I was expecting a uk based engineer and when I realised that the so called expert had limited experience decided to withdraw from the service. I now discover they can hold the deposit I made with paypal for up to five days before refunding. If I was cynical and made the basic calculation that 10, 000 people had preferred to opt out then justanswers.com would make a lot of bank interest on the funds they are holding.

I am steaming about my dealing with this site. Had a question regarding TV. After submitting my credit card info x3 which they say was rejected by their processor, I called them and found out my info had been accepted and charged $25 without my permission! After talking more,
the more they hem-hawed around, denying a charge and
NEVER ANSWERED ANY QUESTION! What a scam! Don't GO THERE!
i agree with what i read here its seems like a scam i have asked for a refund its been 12 hours since i posted my question and i am still waiting for a reply
Anytime you use a credit card for any type of authorization your funds can be held for a few days. It is common for gas/petrol stations to authorize and hold funds from your card for more than the purchase to make sure the funds are available.
I've used them and it was great. $18 answer saved me $60.

sneaky website that won't let you click away!
It is not until after you've submitted your question that you find out you must pay to get an answer! At that point, you are not able to click away from the page, you will keep getting a pop-up window with 2 choices you don't want, either pay to continue or stay stuck on the same page. You can not use your browser back button to get away, and you can not close the browser window! The only way I was able to extricate myself from this black hole was to use bring up my Windows Task Manager and shut down the browser (Firefox) program.

Recently they sent me an email saying they were sending a partial refund to me, at a Just answer account. I wont be satisfied until they send it to Paypal, which, incidentaly is a lot easier to talk to than your credit card company.

I asked a questions at Justanswer and they couldnt answer so all I did was click the help button and ask for a refund and I had my deposit back in less than 24hrs.
Since then I have asked a lot more questions and had a great experience with all of them.
No offence dude but if you did not read the instructions where it says you have to pay a refundable deposit then that is your own stupidity that you did not ask for it back
computer repair
The web-site was called Just Answer. I requested help with getting my printer to work. The page asked to check an amount that I would pay to have repair assistance. I did this and provided them with my credit card info. Then, I described the nature of my problem. It requested I watch their web-page and they promised prompt service. After a long wait, I left the page and became concerned as I provided my credit card info and received no reply from them.
After several days, I received an e-mail from them asking me to contact them with additional information.
In the mean time, I figured out how to fix my printer, so I told them to forget it after such a long wait.
