Scam charged me without my authorization
This is a fraudulent switch and bait company. Don't do it, stay away.
On may 13, I purchased "last pass" a password manager. I could not get it to work, so I got the link from last pass. It clearly stated that as a premium customer service would be free. So, I contacted them and got joseph newman. I specifically asked him if this service was free since I am a premium customer. He said, no. I figured the answer myself while chatting with it, it had to do with my browser (changed it). I again asked if would be charged, he assured me no, but I would see $1 charge that would be reversed.
Today I got notification that my credit card was charged $46. I immediately, contacted my bank, and complained to just answer. They told me they cancelled my membership, which I never asked for, but they can't refund my monies, but will cancel my membership.
Clearly this is a scam of the worst kind. I will continue to write this story on all social media until I get my refund.
It's not the money, it's the scam!
Desired outcome: REFUND
It looks like there are several complaints just like mine. Fortunately they refunded my monies, after I sent several complaints to several agencies.
Just beware when you call this company. They are one of many companies who hook you, thinking you won't pay attention.
Legal Advice
Several weeks ago I paid $5 for a quick piece of advice; greatly received. Yesterday, a Saturday of all things, $66.00 was taken from my bank account.
Not signed up for extended period or 'subscribe'. No warning of the 'theft' of my money; my account crippled.
ACCC and AFP to be advised if no resolution before COB Monday May 17, 21
Desired outcome: Refund immediate
Got an answer for 5 dollars but was charged an additional 46 dollars without explanation
Used justanswer to pay 5 dollars for an answer to a question only to find they charged an additional 46 dollars without explanation. Contacted justanswer and they refused to refund the 46 dollars. There was no explanation that I would be charged 46 dollars in addition to the 5 dollars for the question. This was clearly fraud as there was no disclosure that an additional 46 dollars would be charged. Just answer was uncooperative when called and could not provide justification for not disclosing an additional charge of 46 dollars in addition to the initial 5 dollar charge. They literally stole 46 dollars from me as they did not disclose the charge prior to the disclosure of the 5 dollar charge for the question.
Desired outcome: Refund 46 dollars

Scamming and fraud
I have been double charged for a membership that I did not sign up for. I made one phone and paid for ONE call only. I have been charged $46.00 for two months for services I did not ask for. I have called today and asked that this "secret membership" be cancelled. The answer they provided on my one and only question was useless. This is truly a scam operation. I noticed they keep using the "same experts" for totally different fields, technology and medical.
Desired outcome: refund for false charges

Unauthorized credit charges.
I am an 86 year old woman, who was having a computer problems involving Facebook in February. When I tried to get online help, I was told it was unavailable and that I should contact Just Answer. (I have used this type of service in the past. But obviously not your company. There was only a one-time charge.) When I contacted your company II was told I'd be charged a small fee for your help. The trial price quoted was $l.00. Not surprisingly the price turned out to be $46.00. The repairman did a good job, so I paid from my Pay Pal account. I don't always check the monthly charges.. But I got an Email recently from Just Answer thanking me for my membership and stating the $46.00 monthly fee had been deducted from PayPal. So I checked and found that there had been three other charges in Feb., Mar., and April besides the May charge. I was not told I was signing up for a membership, nor what the charge would be. I believe this was deceptive and would like the last three charges deducted from my PayPal account. If I don't receive confirmation that this was done, I will notify Facebook, the FTC, and USA Gov.
Desired outcome: Deduction of $138 from my PayPal account.

Monthly fees I did not agree to (plus worthless "answer")
N march, I had a simple legal question. It had to do with eligibility for unemployment benefits. Of course, I could have just applied, and see what happens, but because the ca edd system is so overwhelmed, I didn't want to further burden them with an ineligible claim to process. I decided to use this service. I paid $64 to ask the question from a licensed attorney (supposedly). His answer? "gee, I don't really know. I suggest that you go ahead and apply, and see what happens." I could have figured that out on my own, right? Nonetheless, I paid the $64, for worthless "advice." I have now been charged sixty dollars a month for the past two months! I "signed up" for a monthly "membership" in a worthless legal advice-giving company? I never signed up for anything. If I cannot get any relief from this scam, I will have to cancel this credit card, in order to stop them from charging my card each month. There's no "proof" they'll send me to show that I "signed up" for this fake service, yet they are using my credit card as a piggy bank.
Desired outcome: Refund the two $60 fees that I did not agree to - even though the "answer" was worthless, I'll agree to pay the $64 that I paid upfront to ask the question
Scams
you took money from me with no . acceptance of mine. i paid a one time $5 fee for some [censored] to tell me to hit my starter with hammer. you have no reason to take money from my bank acct. i will not just let you rip me off, especially when I'm in a bind and looking for a resolution. you are a liar and a cheat and I will get the word out, you can believe that .
Desired outcome: i want a full refund . my bank will be contacting you as well.
JustAnswer
I joined because it said after they answered my question, they would refund the $1.00 charge, but then I got an email saying I would be charged $50.00 a month until I canceled. I never agreed to pay a monthly payment to them nor did they state that future payments would be taken from me. JustAnswer is definitely an internet scam of serious credit card and Paypal theft. Their tactic is to lure people with an unsolvable problem and ask them a question with a so called "good faith" deposit. Once they get your information, they steal the CC or PP details and charge you on what they like (membership, advice charges, etc.). I then cancel right away.
People please be weary when joining JustAnswer. They are just another internet scam.
Didn't know you were buying an expensive membership when you paid $5?
Neither did I. Signed up for a 5 dollar trial to justanswer to ask a question. I didn't get around to actually asking a question. And a few days later a $60 charge they aren't refunding. This is a scam. Adding fine print at the bottom of a page where many people will not see it to con people out of there money and then not refunding it when no service was provided is about as scammy as a legit looking website can be. If you look below they will have their copy/pasted response that is the same under all complaints. They don't give a [censored]. They know it's a scam. They just want your money. And legally, they've probably covered their bases, so most people signing up get screwed.
Desired outcome: I want my money back.
Unauthorized credit card charges.
I called to ask questions about an ailing computer that failed to boot, and was offered a troubleshooting probe into the computer for $46. which I declined. I find that my credit card has been charged several times for this. I would like to have it returned to PayPal ASAP. please. The only thing I received from Just Answer was a sales pitch...
Desired outcome: Return my money.
Rare children’s cinderella fairytale book, published 1870 in bavaria.
I've been waiting over an hour for a response, getting very suspicious of your tactics so
I want to let you know I am reporting to a "fraud agency" regarding your lack of response and your quick charge of my $5.00, with no action!
Very upset and disgusted. I furthermore want to cancel any further charges or on going payments to you!
You want more words... I've got plenty... I was told you were connecting me to an appraiser... I do not believe you!
I don't need to tell you that your scheme to defraud people with lies and false promises is wrong!
And yes... I should have known better than to trust anyone in line!
So... This better be long enough for your phony reasoning for not paying attention to my original complaint... Just another scam tactic if yours i'm sure!
Desired outcome: Refund my $5.00 immediately as you stated!!.,
I did not want a membership and I repeatedly text to stop but now I see my credit card has been charged 49.00 plus the 5.00 fee........
the 5.00 fee was charged on March 22nd...which I thought was the fee for the question and answer about a car mechanical question, I repeatedly said I did not want a membership and now I see on my credit card bill I was charged 49.00 on April 1st! I want a refund, I did not ever request a membership! the tel # on the charge on my credit card statement is from Just Answer, tel #[protected]. I never did request a membership and I want it cancelled and my 49.00 refunded!
I do no have a scanner, but I can email a copy from my phone if u can reply to my request at [protected]@gmail.com
Desired outcome: I want the membership cancelled and a refund on my credit card for the 49.00.

membership
I never approved this membership, what a scam/rip off. I have filed a dispute with my bank. Your company is deceitful and should be taken down. I will do my best to see this happens.
Just Answer Web Service
Pay $5 for a 7 day trial to ask a question to get legal advice. Sounds good.
Even though the site says they will let you know when your trial is up, I don't recall seeing an email of that effect, and I was automatically put into the $60 a month membership. No company should start you into a membership without your approval. Sell a Trial and sell the membership separately. Probably how the company is making their money. If you don't watch your charge card statement closely, you might go several months paying that $60 a month. Very disappointing that this company has to operate this way.
Desired outcome: Would like to be reimbursed for the $60. Did not use the service. Just had one question.

The just answer service, illegal repeat billing
I used this service once last year and have just found they have been charging me 340 per month since then for services I have never used.
These people are thieves. Avoid !
Desired outcome: return of my money, -all of it
Unauthorized billing
I was charged $46 for nothing. I asked a question a month ago with no satisfaction and was charged $46. I reluctantly paid the bill and tried to cancel. Now I'm charged $46 again this month and I never even went on their website! I'm being scammed to the hilt!
I have no choice but to complain to VISA. No way to treat a disabled veteran.

Fraudulently charged my bank account
Hi,
I cancelled my membership with just answer in October. I just the service only once after that and paid one time fees. I just found out that the coming is charging me monthly and there is no way to cancel. I checked their website and my membership is cancelled and still they are charging me account.
I need my money refunded.
My email is [protected]@gmail.com
Please contact me if you need any more information
Desired outcome: Cancel membership charges and refund money

Unwanted charges on my card
I simply jus don't know how it charged me for two months for a subscription I specifically declined and it still charged me. I don't even remember agreeing to anything about a payment plan. I saw it on my bank statements a month ago but it jus said bank fee. So when I checked my account today it said it was this website. And I never admitted to paying the subscription
Desired outcome: Immediate refund
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
JustAnswer monthly billing process
They were not clear when I signed up for the one week trial that I was committing to a subsequent monthly charge. Because it takes a while for a charge to show up on a credit card I was billed for two months in a row before I was able to cancel. I never used the service but they wouldn't undo the charges. I don't feel that they dealt honestly with me. I have nothing good to say about this service.
Desired outcome: I would like a refund of at least the second month: $46
