Unauthorised charges
In July 2022 I made what I considered a one-off payment of $2 for some information, but what I failed to realise was that there would be an ongoing cost of $41 per month. It was hidden in the application somewhere which I think is a bit fraudulent. It wasn't until I checked my account today that I realised I had been paying this money out. I rarely use this account so I don't go online very often to check it. Apart from the initial payment of $2 I have paid out $328 for a service I didn't know I had or used.
I googled Just Answer to find out what it was and found a 1800 number to ring as I had no idea how to login to stop payments.
The operator was helpful and cancelled my payments but said because it was in the information that I would pay $41 per month so she couldn't give me a refund.
My problem is that it wasn't clear about the ongoing payments and from just reading other complaints I'm not the only one.
Desired outcome: I would like a refund for a service I didn't know I was paying for.

I asked for help with problem with laptop. Tech could not resolve issue.
I spoke with tech via chat and after a few moments he told me he could not solve the problem. Ultimately, I solved the problem myself and I am not a professional in the tech world. I don't feel the tech gave any effort at all. Very dissatisfied with results with Just Answer. My account was charged $46/00. I would like to be reimbursed.
I don't have my ticket number. Please look up account.

unauthorized credit card charges
I signed up for your service to find an appliance repair tech while working in a client's home, on or about 8.25.22. I agreed to pay the $5 fee to use the service.
What I did not realize is that I was also charged a monthly fee of $28 on 8/26
Then I was charged $28 again on 9/26
And $28 AGAIN on 10/26
I believed I had cancelled the service, as I had no need to maintain a subscription for your service.
I have no need for this service and made no use of it beyond my initial inquiry.
I would like these three payments refunded to me, for a total of $84.00

This company it’s really bad. I regret ever clicking on their site.
I clicked on the site in 2021 looking for legal advice and after paying l spoke to a barrister who asked me to send any documents. I then send a court order with names of a child because l was not aware the document would be on public domain. I am now asking the company to remove the document due to its sensitivity. However, after several calls and emails and being promised by just ask customer services most who can hardly speak English, l was told my data content was now removed from Google. I then searched Google again this evening and the document it’s still public and l have reached end of my tether with just answer. The company has very poor customer service Support and can lie to customers.
Desired outcome: I would like everything l posted on just answer deleted and especially the attached documents l shared with them.
Unauthorized credit card charges
This is a dishonest business practice. On September 27 I was in a remote area and had a problem with my car. I was trying to find someone who could fix it and I thought I was paying a $2 fee to be referred to a mechanic. I waited and finally found someone to fix my issue. I see the $2 was charged to my credit card. No problem. I've subsequently had 2 $49 charges applied to my card. Evidently in the fine print somewhere you agree to a membership. This should not be legal. They refuse to refund those fees.
Desired outcome: Refund $98

Refund request - misleading enrollment information
I was looking for information on how to correct the spelling of my surname on my birth certificate. I came across the Just Answer website.
The site stated for a $1.00 fee and $40 a month membership that you could cancel at anytime I could submit my question and receive expert advice.
I submitted my question and someone responded shortly after that.
However the information I received was information I had already found on my own before going on the Just Answer website.
When I put in my credit card information for the $1.00 fee, I thought the $60.00 membership would not be charged right away and I could cancel at anytime if I was not satisfy with the results.
My card was charged right away the $1.00 fee and the $60.00 membership.
I called to cancel and request a refund of the $60.00 membership because I was not happy with the results and felt they were misleading on their membership enrollment.
They canceled my membership, but would not refund the $60.00. This all happen within a couple of hours.
Read previous reviews over 10 yrs. all saying the process fee and membership were misleading. Hard to reach someone to cancel.
Extremely upset to be charged $60.00 for information I already had and to be told to call vital records customer service!. They did say I had 30 days remaining to use the service. Too bad I could not use their legal service to get my money back.
Scam!.
Desired outcome: Looking for refund of the $60.00 membership

Charge to my Mastercard
Needing assistance and advice in querying a Scene card on October 7th, the Safeway lady asked me for my Mastercard and then phoned you. She returned my card to me immediately, after she received your assistance.
On my Mastercard statement, you have charged me 3 times.

22nd August £35

Asking a single question cost me $65
I hopped on their site after a google search. The chat bot and I talked a little and I was offered further discussion with an appraiser for a "refundable $5 fee". I figured for $5 (refundable or not) I was willing to go further. I was immediately charged $60 for the monthly fee. Their chat person refused to refund it and I was "not eligible" for a refund even though I had not interacted with their appraiser. I threatened chargeback and posting reviews like this and they still said that I was not eligible and that I had been cancelled going forward. I asked for a supervisor and I was given [protected]. I talked to someone from overseas and they put me on hold. Came back and said they can't refund any of the charges.
THIS COMPANY IS FRAUDULENT. DO NOT INTERACT NOR PAY THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING!
Desired outcome: I want a refund AND I'd like an additional refund for the time spent trying to get this refund.

unauthorised payment deduction and false information
Saw an ad for this service advertising that i could get an answer to a question for $2 joined up and i was billed $43 immediately. Asked my tax question, was given an answer, i asked another in relation to the same question as i had been told different and was told by the respondent that they had "answered you are not paying tax on the sale". Spoke to the ATO the next day and they have advised i will be paying 50%. so not happy with them taking more money then they advertised and also incorrect information from there Tax Professional. I have just tried to sort out the issue with them online and they have disconnected me twice as i was typing in our conversation. Disgraceful behaviour
Desired outcome: refund of payment. training for online CHAT persons so that they do not rudely cut you off. eg. Pearl Wilson and JA i have screen shots on my ph. of the conversations.

Unauthorized charges
I needed advice on how to fix my oven, and came across a site that advertised a trial $5 for the first month and $35 in subsequent months. I gave them my credit card to give the trial a chance. A day later I have two charges on my CC statement. The advertised $5 and an additional $35. Contacted customer service who responded that they don’t give refunds and promptly disconnected the chat before I could follow up with an additional question. Sent them an email and so far no response.
This has all the markings of a scam. Definitely an unethical company and you’re better of googling your topic in chat boards than dealing with these people.
Desired outcome: Full refund of the $35

Misleading customers into membership purchase
BE AWARE! Justanswer uses a small, yet fair initiation fee to fool people into believing that it will cover their first question, and it does. However as a soon as you pay that amount your account will be debited for a full membership. I know I stand no chance to get refunded by these useless scammers but I will go to all lengths on all possible platforms to try and help other people not to be misled out of their money by Justanswer.

JUSTANSWER sign up fee
One October 19, 2022 I was talking to a company named Hisense Tv so they could resolve an issue regarding my smart tv and wifi connection. They redirected me (Hisense did) to justanswer making me pay 5 dollars just to get my question answered. They made me pay a $5 sign up charge which they directly stated can be refunded. I now can not get ahold of anyone to refund it. The url where the refund should take place is somehow not working so I have no way to refund.
Desired outcome: I want the $5 refunded

att modem instalation
On 10/18/22, approx 7:00 pm, I found your site hoping to get assistance with the installation of my replacement ATT modem. Saw the one dollar (refundable amount) for the assistance so I gave card info. The next screen showed a chat page that cost $39. I imediately shut down my browser. Later I checked my bank and you had cancelled the $1 but charged me $46! I want that $46 back for the simple logic that your service was never used. If your buisness model embraces reasonable ethical practices, return the money, if not, I will be forced to make a trip to my bank and make my voice heard elsewhere.
Reguards,
Mike Bartol

Refund
Asked a lawyer 1 question which the website said it was just $5.00. They took my 5.00 and also took 69.00 for a membership I did not agree to. I called them immediately after I saw the charge on my bank statement. The first rep was rude and stated they do not give refunds. We went back and forth to the point I requested a supervisor. She then put me on hold then came back and said a supervisor will call me back in 30 mins. I never received any call back. I called the next day and got another rep who stated that the charge was still pending on their end. I advised him that it has been taken from my bank account and that I needed a refund. He was polite and acted like he cared but a liar. I still haven’t heard anything or got my refund. I will never recommend this website.
Desired outcome: Refund 69.00

Unauthorized credit card charge
I used a site called, uspropertyinfo.com to get some info on a property. The charge was $1 for the results of my search. Then noticed on my Apple Card where I had been charged $24. I want a refund of my money. My initial search was conducted through my county’s tax assessor’s website, evidently they use usproperty info.com to do the searches or whatever. I never agreed to any memberships and only expected to pay $1 for the info.
Desired outcome: I want a refund immediately.

Just Answer - Misleading
I asked Just Answer a simple quick question and for one question only I have been charged £250 an outrageous amount by anyone's standards. It would be a very small minority of people who would pay £28 per month to be able to ask questions that could be answered for free in other places if one had the time. Obviously this model of business is clearly designed to obtain credit card details from people who want a quick answer to something and then once they have obtained your bank details they charge a monthly fee which very quickly mounts up before you realise it. Very dissatisfied this model should be banned.
Desired outcome: A refund of all the money taken from my account.

Justanswer - counsellor
I used this service with a question regarding rents on July 9th - the payments of $2.00 and $86.00 came off my credit card. Even though the answer was not even helpful (already had that answer from the rental board) that should have been the end of it. They have been charging $86.00 on the 9th of every month since. I will also speak to my mastercard company's fraud section to report this.
I expect a full refund! Just answer is obviously a scam or something like this wouldn't happen.

tech geek
Order ID: [protected]-526
I had one simple question but had to register my credit card with tech geek. I was advised the charge would be £1 unless I took the matter further. I have been charged an additional £35 and don't even know if this is a subscription charge or if I will be charged again at some future point. I have been misled over the charges and would like my £35 refunded with an assurance I won't be charged again in future as I do not intend using the service again.
Desired outcome: Please refund and cancel any subscription
