I called regarding my prescription and was placed on hold for over half an hour. They kept picking up and putting me back on hold without saying anything, which is the least they could do out of courtesy. When they finally spoke with me, they said they had to help someone else and put me back on hold - no apology or anything of the sort. This is unacceptable. I am a licensed pharmacist in both MA and CT. I worked retail for several years, frequently understaffed, but never put a customer under such conditions. I'm not one to complain and having worked as a retail pharmacist, I perfectly understand that sometimes unfavorable circumstances do occur. However, this seems to be a trend with CVS. On top of extremely poor customer service, they often don't have my medication in stock, although I'm a regular customer and get the same prescription each month. For this reason, I call a few days in advance to make sure they have it, but this is only effective half the time. Typically I go without my medication for several days a few months each year. This should never be the case. The only reason I have stayed with CVS this long is convenience, but it's definitely not worth it and it's only getting worse.
