Aspen Dental Patient co-pays

My wife (June A. Sida) and I are new patients as of January 2023. Your employee who processes patient charges has told June that her co-pay for each of her procedures is more than my co-pay for the same procedures.

June and I are with Careington 500 Series dental discount plan. The member ID number for each of us is [protected]. Careington's number for providers is [protected], and our joint Member ID number is [protected]. Our combined balance with Aspen Dental is zero.

I have called Careington and was informed that my wife and I would owe the same co-pay for any identical procedure.

Desired outcome: If Careington confirms that co-pays for my wife and me are the same, then we would want the difference of what we have thus far paid. We would not want credit for future procedures, regardless of the amount.

Aspen Dental I want half of everything I paid at this point!

My name is Karrie Hoban, my number is [protected] . This is a copy of my original email. I came into the office may of 2022 and met with the dentist Treasa Mathew owner of aspen dental at 227 Washington street Attleboro Mass. I already had full top dentures. I had 9 teeth on the bottom they did X-rays and we discussed that 5 of the teeth had to come out. I told her I wanted them all pulled, she said I should keep the 4 because they would be a anchor, I explained that I wanted them all to match and I get very anxious at the dentist, I didn’t want to have to keep coming back or dealing with toothaches. I’ve had fillings and root canal and they can fall out you got to back, I said I just want them all pulled. I met with the financial lady, we took impressions of both top and bottom and we had a appointment for the removal. I came in tried the wax first, everything seemed fine, the day of removing my bottom teeth, she gave me my tops, at which point I said they look crooked they don’t look right. She said they looked beautiful and I would love them, I said but what happens when my gums heal and my jaw shrinks? These are matched to my teeth, aren’t my gums going to shrink at which point she said it’s only the first set, you get a second. Which I took to mean that they must redo both. I knew I automatically got a second bottom pair, that must be they redo the whole set. So for 6 months I’ve been back and forth for realignment on my bottom. I kept saying how my tops felt too big, and also they looked wrong, crooked and I have to reapply glue 3-4 times a day! She said use more glue, I explained I knever had this problem with my last 2 pairs, she said it’s because my mouth settled to them, I said no not even in the beginning . Finally I had a appointment for my second pair, just before thanksgiving, I was excited because these were hurting so much, and as I healed the tops got looser. When they took the impression they only did the bottom, I asked what about the top she said no you only get a second pair where we pulled the teeth. I said but I thought I got a new top and bottom? She said who told you that? I said you did! She says no you must’ve misunderstood. Now I’m ready cry, I’m like but these are wrong, they don’t fit, I have said it from the first day they weren’t right, the second day when I went back I said but they’re crooked they lean left she said I was just swollen. I said on one side? She said everyone heals different! I have to keep reapplying I worry they’ll fall out while I’m at work! I paid all this money for same day dentures because i don’t want everyone to know, I’m a waitress I have to talk a lot the fact that the bite was wrong is a big issue too. Meanwhile the bottom are so big I can’t heal, I keep getting canker sores. So while we’re doing the impression for the second set on the bottom she says bite down, not yet bite down, no then takes my mouth and guides it to where she thinks my bite should be, which was wrong. We do the wax they seem ok, I go back to pick up the dentures and she put them in she says they look long, wear them if it’s a problem call. I’m like ok, I just needed them to not be so big so the didn’t move as much. I called 2 days later, they were too long and started cutting the inside of mouth right above my chin, it was horrible. I met with tech, she filed a lot a lot off, even she seemed surprised at much had to be filed down. Problem they slimmed as they went down but because so much had to filed off the top is wider and now they’re too loose….again. So I call, they said to come into the office, this time the dentist is there, I said I think you should’ve waited to give me my tops, I never asked for them in beginning I assumed I’d get them with my second bottom after I healed, but then she smisled me to believe I’d get a new pair. The top don’t fit because my jaw shrank, now the bottom s are big again and they’re were rough from the filing causing more like sandpaper rubbing on the inside of my mouth. She then says, the tops are not loose, in her opinion but there is a problem with the bite, I’ll redo them. She hands my bottom set to the girl says polish those again and take a impression we’re going to redo the top. So they polish them give them back, and took a impression. I had a appointment for the following week, I went in and the dentist was there, she said this a little different and does some black substance on the top, and says thiiis going to be many visits! Like it’s a punishment, I have another appointment for the following week,, less then 24 before that appointment, I get a call that they need to reschedule for the next week, ok. I go now 2 weeks later and there is a man there, he took a impression, made a few marks on my face and took some measurements and said come back in another week to try wax one. Now my jaw is starts hurt all along the right side of face, and causing a earache, I also noticed a slight droop on the left side of my face, I’m like what he hell! So I go in…..again, we try the wax, The whole time she says we’re not here for the fit, we’re here for the bite! Once again they don’t fit. When exactly are we going to worry about the fit? I get a appointment for a week away the wax doesn’t fit, they weren’t aligning, she says why won’t these fit?! Totally aggravated. She says I can fit a finger in between I can’t sign off on these like this. I said especially when that’s the reason where here, she said correct. So I have another appointment for a week away, I go in to try the wax set on for the third time, this time right away I say something is wrong they hurt, I don’t want that to be a issue if they send out to make she said we’ll do our best! But kinda like I’m being rude, she then pushes on the wax teeth area on my face towards where she thinks they’ll meet with the bottom. so when she takes out the wax top denture I felt something stuck in my gums, it was wax, I said oh I guess that was it. She sent out for the dentures, I had a appointment for one week, I got a call we need to reschedule for the next day. I said that fine, when I got there this time it was not the doctor it was the tech, she’s very sweet, she said open and put the dentures in for me. She asked how’s that? I said well they feel better at least it’s flat when I close my mouth. ( the others were grinding, sliding into place and again I’m noticing my face is drooping and I needed the pain my jaw to away ) the tech then says your all set if there a problem just call and through out the other top denture, I didn’t think anything of it at first. Less then 5 minutes later after leaving I ran my tongue along the top and felt something odd, like if I had a cavity or broken tooth so I pulled into a parking lot and took them out. At first I was confused but then it dawned on me the wax that got stuck in my gums caused a hole in the wax impression she sent out and that’s how they made the dentures! So now there’s a sharp missing piece that has already cut me twice! Also food gets caught in it, plus they are so thin in 2 spots you can clearly see right through them! So I spent all this money to avoid having to go to the dentist once a month and to have no pain and it’s been almost a full year of nothing but pain, they still don’t fit and I’ve had to go every week for the last 3 month! so now I had a appointment with my regular dentist today 3-27 and my medical won’t cover the tops until 2024 so I have to pay 1,100$ to get fitted for the both at the same time. I said let’s do it. Literally people are like are you ok, you lost a lot of weight, I wasn’t a big girl to begin with, I say I’m fine but literally I’m starving! All because she doesn’t want to admit she made a error. I would like a full refund but I’ll happy with the cost of the dentures . I really feel I should be compensated for my all time, my gas, the pain I’ve had to deal with!now I also have to do impressions with my reg dentist, then the bite then the wax. If I’m lucky I’ll have them by the end of April! I knew going into it 9 teeth the recovery time, I had it done with my tops by my regular dentist but I never thought that for almost a entire year I’d be in pain because of the doctor. She’s lied to me and misled me and I know she knew about these tops, that’s why she had her assistant do it that’s why they kept the other ones, so I didn’t see until after I left. Now I would like money back, I do not want to go back to this woman at all! She is a horrible dentist and quite honestly a pretty [censored]ty person in my opinion. Today is May 30th I had a appointment to return my dentures May 8th when I showed up for the appointment they said they couldn’t take the dentures or return my because of the new computer system, it’s been over 3 weeks and I’ve called multiple times every time being told the same thing and they have no idea how long before I can get my money back, even though it seems everything else is working. So I’m still paying on the dentures from Aspen and the dentist I had to go to to actually get a correct bite! This is getting ridiculous! If it resolved this week Monday I feel I’m going to have to contact a lawyer,

Desired outcome: If not all of it! The pain, the aggravation, the time, the gas, the interest on my credit cards! It’s been over a year!

Aspen Dental Dental Service/Customer Service

I picked Aspen Dental because I can use it in both Md. and Fl. The one is Naples, Fl. is great. Had a nice cleaning, took Xrays, etc. Went to Berlin, Md. office to get a cleaning appt. and was told I had to have an appointment first to set up a cleaning. Then, I MUST have new Xrays taken. It is my health and my decisions. Why are your different offices not cooperating and why is the one in Berlin so cold and forceful? I am not going. Barbara Saletnig

Desired outcome: Check this franchise. It is definitely not customer oriented or friendly.

Received a set of dentures in August of 2022. I waited for over a month to get due to all the extra appointments to try in and wax set and adjustments. When I finally received my set, could not wear! After several attempts to adjust, I told them adjustments were not going to work. The teeth were unfixable. When I told them I wanted a refund, the cyberattack...

Aspen Dental Billing services

Please be advised that due to an outstanding billing issue I have been refused service at my new Aspen dental office. This billing issue is lingering at over a year in length. My new office is in Jacksonville Florida as I physically relocated to Kingsland GA just over a year ago. My former office was in Middletown NY. The office in Middletown NY billed a Tri-plex cap as a bridge to my insurance carrier. The insurance company initially denied the claim as their records indicated the teeth were still present, which is correct. After receiving initial services in Jacksonville FL I was contacted when my next appointment was due and was told they could not see me as I still had an outstanding charge in NY. I contacted my insurance company who informed me of their denial and reason. I then after numerous phone calls corordinated the faxing of the denial to the Middletown office and negotiated with the carrier that all they would need is an explanation of the tri-plex cap in order to pay the charges. I verified that all was received and understood by the Middletown office. I followed up 3 weeks later with my insurance carrier who indicated they had received no new information. Then I re-contacted the Middletown office who indicate that the billing is centralized in Syracuse and that they did not have any control of when items get re-billed. I followed up a week later only to be informed that all of the billing systems were down and they could do nothing this was approximately 6 weeks ago. I have since been in contact with the insurance carrier who informed me that due to the tie lag the claim is being disgarded and Aspen has to totally re-bill it along with the explanation of the services. I recontacted Aspen Middletown NY who are now telling me that the billing systems are expected back on-line June 1st. I informed them that the cahrges have to be completely re-billed due to the time lag.

My biggest problem is that this has been going on for almost a year not just months and I have lost a cap and am in need of dental care now not later.

As my lack of adequte dental care is due to your firm's complete lack of competence in billing timely and appropriate for services I would like action on my case at a corporate level. I need you to appropriately bill for the care I received in the past and if the charges are too late for consideration they need to be written off immediately. I also want the Jacksonville FL contacted immediately at [protected] to restore services to myself and my husband immediately. I also want a corporate representative to contact me personally and to follow-up to completion the billing of the outstanding services to my insurance carriers.

Desired outcome: Please see above

On May 11th I had a visit at Aspen Dental which was a nightmare, no computers were workable and the phone lines don't work. I was told I needed a deep cleaning for $1,300. I had to pay for the fees before any service was done, but then I canceled my appointment which was for the 17th on May 15th well before and now still waiting for my credit card to be...

On 3-21-23 I called Aspen Dental to schedule an appointment. I thought that it was a blessing, because they had an open appointment for around 1:30pm on that day. The Dentist came in maybe fifteen minutes or so, and asked how she could help me. I have a problem of grinding my teeth, especially during the night as I sleep, and had really worn my teeth down...

I paid in full for my dentures on 3/31/23 because they were making me wait for the insurance est. I was told when my insurance paid, I would be reimbursed the difference. It's been over a month, called them several times & I still haven't received the credit back to my card. I've gotten plenty of excuses as to why they couldn't, but if they have a cc machine in the office, there's no reason.

Aspen Dental Denture

Dentures promises not kept

Where to begin? Staff is friendly for sure but needs to not lie because they cannot remember what lie they have said to whom.

Was promised printed dentures that would fit like a glove & from day one they have not fit. Nor has anything been done to correct. Told to lick my lips then swallow. This do not correct the issue!

Was charged for printed & not given printed. With no reason why & no refund.

Was in that office why why too many times.

Given temporary dentures with bubble gum colored gums.

Was given someone else's dentures.

Temporary upper broke when I bit a sweet pickle so I had no teeth for a while. (Not to mention the Temps were late)

Oh, with in 3 months or so they turned dark dark brown & pitted. They 'buffed them yet here I am fighting staining every day! It's a losing battle. No I do not drink coffee or tea. Feel like the 9k paid was highway robbery & should get half that money back!

(Burleson Texas)

Date of experience: June 08, 2022

Desired outcome: Half of money paid returned

Aspen Dental Lower partial/over all service

May 17, 2023
SG Dental Associates of Maryland LLC
400 E. Ordinance Road
Glen Burnie, MD 21060
Re: Vanesa Simmons
DOS: May 2021 – August 2021
Dear Aspen Dental:
I trust this letter finds you well.
I am writing to obtain assistance and resolution with respect to the services provided during the above-referenced time frame. Here are my concerns:

• Fillings
o The fillings provided fell out within one month.
o The fillings were rough and gritty prior to falling out. It seems the fillings were not smoothed/polished.
o I had to pay another dentist $100 out of pocket to replace the fillings.
• Lower Partial
o The day I received the partial, I told the tech they were too small. I was advised, I would get used to them. Unfortunately, this did not happen.
o I called and left a message twice for Alex/a gentleman to call me back. To date, I have received a return phone call.
o I never wore them as the pain was unbearable.
o Fast forward, I began to wear them recently as my old partial broke and had no choice but to try to wear them.
o In my attempt to wear them, they would not go into my mouth, and I could only get one side of the fit in. When I attempted to make the lower partial fit, it became stuck/wedged, and I had to pry them out. While prying them out, they snapped in half.

At this point, I request that Aspen Dental replace the partial accordingly at no cost to me. I look forward to hearing from you about the possible options. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Vanessa Simmons

Desired outcome: I would like the lower partial remade at no cost to me.

Aspen Dental Talking advantage of college student

Last week my 19yr old went to get a checkup at Aspen dental and when she came home she said that she needed a root canal done I was floored because my daughter never had so much as a cavity. But I know how dental offices work especially since I worked there before and I know about how they tell patients they need work done when they really don't. They told her to come back yesterday and I accompanied her so I could find out what's going on. She went in for a cleaning which she thought was a regular cleaning but it turned into a deep cleaning with a 384.00 price tag when I informed them I was her mother and I know about how this works from my previous employer they shuffled us out of the door and stated a dentist will call and explain. Shame on you for trying to take advantage of a young college strident.

Desired outcome: We still have not received a response.

They said well your appt was at 12, didn’t even look at rhe email. Told me they go to lunch at 2, and I needed to reschedule for the next day. I would never go back there again.
