Aspen Dental 8 crowns on bottom

Had an appt and after the dr checked the work, told me I had 8 crowns that needed to be done.. If I didn’t, I would be humming.. To check with the girl at front desk to get an appt to have those done…that was in 12/9/2021.. With now 2023, paying my part that I was told, said had called for pre approval since I had dental insurance.. That was not done.. Now I am getting $5,138 bill as said crowns not covered with worn down teeth.. When asked to speak to the girl that dropped the ball in my case… told she no longer works here.. Bad business and until the bill is paid, told not to come back to have any work done..

Very rude and very disrespectful to their patients..

Desired outcome: Still waiting for solutions

Aspen Dental Consumer protection division state of ga reference file number: 563343

Attn: Mr. Ron Hobbs, Senior Patient Satisfaction Specialist Aspen Dental Management, Inc. cc/ Ms. Candance Lauderdale, DMD

The purpose of this email is to resolve a complaint I, Marlene Garrett, submitted to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and the Consumer Protection Division in the state of Georgia. On 6/7/2023 @ 3:10pm. I received a cellular phone call from a private number. However, I did not get the name or telephone number of the caller. I overheard, "you filed a complaint with Aspen Dental. Don't you want this resolved?" I requested for this person to call on 6/8/2023 in the AM due to my work schedule. On 6/8/2023 around the same time, a voicemail said, "This is (name not audible) Aspen Dental we are trying to get in contact with you. We cannot resolve this matter if you do not call (no telephone number stated). Confidentially need to be upheld. Therefore, I hope this e-mail will start the conversation in an appropriate manner.

I am aware you have the document of the complaint from the Consumer Protection Division. I stand by what I wrote in the complaint because my rights as a consumer have been violated by:

1. Not being informed about how the deep cleaning service is performed and the upfront cost.

2. Not given the facts to make an informed decision as to how this medical procedure could save my cracked tooth.

3. After signing the credit card statement form, I inquired about the root canal fee being included with the initial fee of $3,747.70. The Financial Manager said,"it is a separate fee."

4. As I sat in the office, I observed and overheard disgruntled patrons talking about the long wait times, rescheduling when late, and billing procedures. I did not agree receiving this one-time outstanding fee.

I wanted the right to be heard in private. Therefore, I contacted the BBB as an advocate and received additional resources to contact.

To date, I have paid $610.61 to Aspen Dental. Since 7/22/2022 - 2/15/2023, I am currently suffering mouth pain, and is unable to eat solid foods. Ongoing dental treatment is required. I am no longer able to afford to pay Aspen Dental several more years for a one-time dental service that was overpriced and not handled with professionally while my safety, health, and wellbeing is at risk.

Thank you for your attention. Look forward to hearing from you.

Marlene Garrett, Former Client

Desired outcome: Immediately stop the Care Credit Card account, and the company consider the remainder of the fee as a lost.

Aspen Dental Wrong tooth pulled

To whom it may concern.

I went to Aspen Dental at 1209 N retail Ct, Myrtle Beach S.C. to have two teeth extracted, on April 13. They extracted the wrong tooth. We agreed on two teeth, one lower back and one upper. They took out two bottom back teeth in back. . I asked several people who makes the decision on what is to be done. The treatment Planner said she didn’t, the Dentist who pulled the teeth said, they do. The manager (Rachel Potter) said, a group gets together and reviews what needs be done. The patient should have been told. Rachel said the wrong tooth didn’t get pulled, they just extracted one that was in bad shape also. Rachel said she was sorry, but thing happens. That was the end of it. No mention about a follow up, or any treatment. We are putting a detail letter on what happened. If you want a copy let me know.

Aspen Dental Dentures Repair

I contacted the local Aspen office here in Mount Dora, Florida. They suggested that I call the Sanford, FL office and schedule an appointment with Dr, Sandra. I called them and scheduled an appointment. At the appointment Dr. Sanra looked at my dentures and implants and indicated that she could replace the O-rings in my dentures and that should solve my problem. At that time, two months ago. I paid them $402.75. To date I have not hard from them and when I call they tell me that their computer system completely crashed and there is nothing they can do for me.

I have requested that they refund my money and they say they cannot do that either as of the computer problem...even though I have all of the records of what I paid. Can you help me please...I would like to get my denture fixed, but if they cannot do that, IU want my money back! I don't think I am being unreasonable...do you?

My husband and I went to Aspen at the end of 2021 I believe with him getting extractions and being fitted for dentures. We went back to all the appointments scheduled afterwards for the readjusting and nothing seem to be working with the lining, adjusting after the last readjusting they said they couldn't do anymore. I did suggest remaking them and they...

Aspen Dental Dental services

I went to aspen dental because of a toothache I'd had for months. They came up with a plan for me telling me you get your dentures same day. No I had 1 appointment a week for a month still no extraction. My entire plan was a 10,000 dollar bill my share was 3500 they said I could finance 1200 of it just to have 2351.12 in cash. I brought the cash and couldn't get the finance because they needed a debit bank card which I had but they said they couldn't accept mine because as it is a debit bank card it's not from a bank account. I said I want to opt out of the bone grafs because I couldn't afford them now and I was told i couldn't wear the dentures without the grafs to which I replied I been wearing dentures for yrs and I've never heard that. I asked to go over their plan to see if there was a way to save and why were teeth on my left side on there when I just had that side done 1 month before she got aggressive and said the dentist told me to just cancel your appointment tomorrow and send your money back. What a waste of time. 1 hour drive in each direction 1 appointment a week for a month straight and not a darn thing done still in pain.

Desired outcome: Fire the rude finance lady that thinks she's a dentist.

Aspen Dental Illegal insurance practices

In October my husband had $4000 in dental work at the Orange City Florida practice. We did not go through insurance and paid in full for procedures. On April 4 2023 Aspen received, after filing a belated claim with our insurance provider, Met Life, a payment in the amount of $1534, over and above the $4000 we paid. I have been attempting and reaching out to Aspen for the return of the money they received from our claim. They refuse to return my phone calls along refusing to resolve this situation. Buyer beware. I have filed numerous complaints including with the better business bureau to no avail. Can anybody advise?

Desired outcome: We want our $1534 they are holding from our insurance proceeds

I was a new patient for Aspen Dental and when I reviewed the website I noticed they offered free cleanings & xrays for new patients. I had no insurance so I was under the impression it was all free. Aspen Dental Patient co-pays

My wife (June A. Sida) and I are new patients as of January 2023. Your employee who processes patient charges has told June that her co-pay for each of her procedures is more than my co-pay for the same procedures.

June and I are with Careington 500 Series dental discount plan. The member ID number for each of us is [protected]. Careington's number for providers is [protected], and our joint Member ID number is [protected]. Our combined balance with Aspen Dental is zero.

I have called Careington and was informed that my wife and I would owe the same co-pay for any identical procedure.

Desired outcome: If Careington confirms that co-pays for my wife and me are the same, then we would want the difference of what we have thus far paid. We would not want credit for future procedures, regardless of the amount.

Aspen Dental I want half of everything I paid at this point!

My name is Karrie Hoban, my number is [protected] . This is a copy of my original email. I came into the office may of 2022 and met with the dentist Treasa Mathew owner of aspen dental at 227 Washington street Attleboro Mass. I already had full top dentures. I had 9 teeth on the bottom they did X-rays and we discussed that 5 of the teeth had to come out. I told her I wanted them all pulled, she said I should keep the 4 because they would be a anchor, I explained that I wanted them all to match and I get very anxious at the dentist, I didn’t want to have to keep coming back or dealing with toothaches. I’ve had fillings and root canal and they can fall out you got to back, I said I just want them all pulled. I met with the financial lady, we took impressions of both top and bottom and we had a appointment for the removal. I came in tried the wax first, everything seemed fine, the day of removing my bottom teeth, she gave me my tops, at which point I said they look crooked they don’t look right. She said they looked beautiful and I would love them, I said but what happens when my gums heal and my jaw shrinks? These are matched to my teeth, aren’t my gums going to shrink at which point she said it’s only the first set, you get a second. Which I took to mean that they must redo both. I knew I automatically got a second bottom pair, that must be they redo the whole set. So for 6 months I’ve been back and forth for realignment on my bottom. I kept saying how my tops felt too big, and also they looked wrong, crooked and I have to reapply glue 3-4 times a day! She said use more glue, I explained I knever had this problem with my last 2 pairs, she said it’s because my mouth settled to them, I said no not even in the beginning . Finally I had a appointment for my second pair, just before thanksgiving, I was excited because these were hurting so much, and as I healed the tops got looser. When they took the impression they only did the bottom, I asked what about the top she said no you only get a second pair where we pulled the teeth. I said but I thought I got a new top and bottom? She said who told you that? I said you did! She says no you must’ve misunderstood. Now I’m ready cry, I’m like but these are wrong, they don’t fit, I have said it from the first day they weren’t right, the second day when I went back I said but they’re crooked they lean left she said I was just swollen. I said on one side? She said everyone heals different! I have to keep reapplying I worry they’ll fall out while I’m at work! I paid all this money for same day dentures because i don’t want everyone to know, I’m a waitress I have to talk a lot the fact that the bite was wrong is a big issue too. Meanwhile the bottom are so big I can’t heal, I keep getting canker sores. So while we’re doing the impression for the second set on the bottom she says bite down, not yet bite down, no then takes my mouth and guides it to where she thinks my bite should be, which was wrong. We do the wax they seem ok, I go back to pick up the dentures and she put them in she says they look long, wear them if it’s a problem call. I’m like ok, I just needed them to not be so big so the didn’t move as much. I called 2 days later, they were too long and started cutting the inside of mouth right above my chin, it was horrible. I met with tech, she filed a lot a lot off, even she seemed surprised at much had to be filed down. Problem they slimmed as they went down but because so much had to filed off the top is wider and now they’re too loose….again. So I call, they said to come into the office, this time the dentist is there, I said I think you should’ve waited to give me my tops, I never asked for them in beginning I assumed I’d get them with my second bottom after I healed, but then she smisled me to believe I’d get a new pair. The top don’t fit because my jaw shrank, now the bottom s are big again and they’re were rough from the filing causing more like sandpaper rubbing on the inside of my mouth. She then says, the tops are not loose, in her opinion but there is a problem with the bite, I’ll redo them. She hands my bottom set to the girl says polish those again and take a impression we’re going to redo the top. So they polish them give them back, and took a impression. I had a appointment for the following week, I went in and the dentist was there, she said this a little different and does some black substance on the top, and says thiiis going to be many visits! Like it’s a punishment, I have another appointment for the following week,, less then 24 before that appointment, I get a call that they need to reschedule for the next week, ok. I go now 2 weeks later and there is a man there, he took a impression, made a few marks on my face and took some measurements and said come back in another week to try wax one. Now my jaw is starts hurt all along the right side of face, and causing a earache, I also noticed a slight droop on the left side of my face, I’m like what he hell! So I go in…..again, we try the wax, The whole time she says we’re not here for the fit, we’re here for the bite! Once again they don’t fit. When exactly are we going to worry about the fit? I get a appointment for a week away the wax doesn’t fit, they weren’t aligning, she says why won’t these fit?! Totally aggravated. She says I can fit a finger in between I can’t sign off on these like this. I said especially when that’s the reason where here, she said correct. So I have another appointment for a week away, I go in to try the wax set on for the third time, this time right away I say something is wrong they hurt, I don’t want that to be a issue if they send out to make she said we’ll do our best! But kinda like I’m being rude, she then pushes on the wax teeth area on my face towards where she thinks they’ll meet with the bottom. so when she takes out the wax top denture I felt something stuck in my gums, it was wax, I said oh I guess that was it. She sent out for the dentures, I had a appointment for one week, I got a call we need to reschedule for the next day. I said that fine, when I got there this time it was not the doctor it was the tech, she’s very sweet, she said open and put the dentures in for me. She asked how’s that? I said well they feel better at least it’s flat when I close my mouth. ( the others were grinding, sliding into place and again I’m noticing my face is drooping and I needed the pain my jaw to away ) the tech then says your all set if there a problem just call and through out the other top denture, I didn’t think anything of it at first. Less then 5 minutes later after leaving I ran my tongue along the top and felt something odd, like if I had a cavity or broken tooth so I pulled into a parking lot and took them out. At first I was confused but then it dawned on me the wax that got stuck in my gums caused a hole in the wax impression she sent out and that’s how they made the dentures! So now there’s a sharp missing piece that has already cut me twice! Also food gets caught in it, plus they are so thin in 2 spots you can clearly see right through them! So I spent all this money to avoid having to go to the dentist once a month and to have no pain and it’s been almost a full year of nothing but pain, they still don’t fit and I’ve had to go every week for the last 3 month! so now I had a appointment with my regular dentist today 3-27 and my medical won’t cover the tops until 2024 so I have to pay 1,100$ to get fitted for the both at the same time. I said let’s do it. Literally people are like are you ok, you lost a lot of weight, I wasn’t a big girl to begin with, I say I’m fine but literally I’m starving! All because she doesn’t want to admit she made a error. I would like a full refund but I’ll happy with the cost of the dentures . I really feel I should be compensated for my all time, my gas, the pain I’ve had to deal with!now I also have to do impressions with my reg dentist, then the bite then the wax. If I’m lucky I’ll have them by the end of April! I knew going into it 9 teeth the recovery time, I had it done with my tops by my regular dentist but I never thought that for almost a entire year I’d be in pain because of the doctor. She’s lied to me and misled me and I know she knew about these tops, that’s why she had her assistant do it that’s why they kept the other ones, so I didn’t see until after I left. Now I would like money back, I do not want to go back to this woman at all! She is a horrible dentist and quite honestly a pretty [censored]ty person in my opinion. Today is May 30th I had a appointment to return my dentures May 8th when I showed up for the appointment they said they couldn’t take the dentures or return my because of the new computer system, it’s been over 3 weeks and I’ve called multiple times every time being told the same thing and they have no idea how long before I can get my money back, even though it seems everything else is working. So I’m still paying on the dentures from Aspen and the dentist I had to go to to actually get a correct bite! This is getting ridiculous! If it resolved this week Monday I feel I’m going to have to contact a lawyer,

Desired outcome: If not all of it! The pain, the aggravation, the time, the gas, the interest on my credit cards! It’s been over a year!

Aspen Dental Dental Service/Customer Service

I picked Aspen Dental because I can use it in both Md. and Fl. The one is Naples, Fl. is great. Had a nice cleaning, took Xrays, etc. Went to Berlin, Md. office to get a cleaning appt. and was told I had to have an appointment first to set up a cleaning. Then, I MUST have new Xrays taken. It is my health and my decisions. Why are your different offices not cooperating and why is the one in Berlin so cold and forceful? I am not going. Barbara Saletnig

Desired outcome: Check this franchise. It is definitely not customer oriented or friendly.
