Filling prescriptions/or not filling prescriptions
Filling prescriptions/or not filling prescriptions
I have been a patient at the local Walgreens for over 12 years. Up until about four months ago I have been on methadone for pain management. I got off my methadone and went onto buprenorphine which is worked greatly. I've been having my Scripps filled every two weeks at the same Walgreens. My last script was filled and put on the shelf to pick up. I was out of town at the time I told him I would pick it up when I got home. I got home a few days ago and went to pay for my script online and noticed it was no longer filled. I just called them and asked them to please fill it so I could pick it up. They refused. They said their policy was to not fill Any prescriptions from doctors they were more than 30 miles away. The doctor that fills the script is in Georgia and I am in California, definitely more than 30 miles away. I asked how long we've had this policy and they said three or four months. That's interesting because that's how long I've been getting this prescription and it's been filled up until a few days ago.
I reminded them that I've been a long time customer and I've never had a problem filling a script. That I was home sick single day filled as one script this time as a favor to me and I will go elsewhere after this. No they're unwilling to help me. I don't know if this truly is a policy or not. All I know is up until a couple days ago there was never a problem filling the script. The pharmacist was rude hurtful and unhelpful to say the least. Her name was Elizabeth. She would give me no more information on who she was except for her name Elizabeth. Her words were "everybody knows who I am." I can only imagine if you treat people the way you treated me yes people would know who you are. I told her there was no warning but it would not be refilling my script when they took it off the shelf there was no warning if I didn't pick it up while I was in Hawaii and let them know I would be coming when I got home. No it's at 8 o'clock at night California 11 o'clock in Georgia and I can't find my doctor and I am very sick. This is horrible management horrible customer service. Unless it's a law policies have exceptions and she is able to override it should she choose to as the last pharmacist were able to help me. If this truly is a policy, why are no other pharmacist aware of it? I think pharmacists and pharmacies have gotten way too involved and have too much power when they havw the power to veto a doctors prescription.
Desired outcome: Where is the policy stated for the public to view? What was the date it was enacted? An apology from the pharmacist for her rudeness and Reluctance to help a long time patient.

I am so mad at this point it will be very hard to tell you of all the issues. My husband was/is very sick has been in and out of hospital and now he developed Covid. Call to dr Walgreens was my first choice, I have previously worked for your company and loved it. The experience I just had should not happen to anyone let alone someone who knows the Walgreens name and company. The dr prescribed several items and we called to see if prescriptions were ready well the phone was not working very well you could hear person pick up and than hang up. So off we go to the Walgreens it was on Alameda and Wadsworth in Lakewood CO. We get there at 5:27 p.m. on Dec 8, 2022. We chose this Walgreens because they had a drive through available. We get there and now the window was closed. I had to go in First I do not think anyone w/ this much exposure should be entering the store but had no choice. Went to pharmacy there are these hand written signs noting pharmacy is closing at 6:00 p.m. The line for pharmacy was down the first isle and getting to the second half of the store. I stood there it is now 7:37 p.m. I finally get up there and the rep attempting to help me had no clue nor should she even have been allowed to work in pharmacy. I had to repeat several times my husband name, than she said oh Albuterol is not a covered drug for United, so gave her the MCR card she said no MCR does not cover it either. So waited over an hour to hear that one of his drugs was not covered by two different policies. She had to stand there and enter the card info and now she could not type she was using one finger and looking at card than looking at computer screen for each # or letter entered. She goes off comes back and said oh your drugs will not be ready for at least a day. Well if you would have answered the phone than we would not have had to stand in that line. Than one of the clerks a male was throwing his hissy fit and was going to leave cause it was time for him to get off. Customer service was a zero.. The manager was biting back at this guy so they are having their issues. And the line is half way through the store. Than some girl comes up to the counter not dressed in a Walgreen uniform and just closes the gate to block the pharmacy leaving several customers w/ out their much needed prescriptions. Well in my opinion this could have been somewhat alleviated. First knowing and not advising the dr calling in those prescriptions should have been warned they could have sent us elsewhere. Second this huge line a clerk could have walked down the line and checked on computer to find out if all these peoples prescriptions were ready why are we standing in a line when you do not even have our prescriptions. I know we have plans to call dr tomorrow and have her try another pharmacy willing and able to fill our prescriptions. This is $ lost to your store and a very loyal customer is not so loyal now. My phone # is [protected]
Desired outcome: Severe reprimands and warning to store this is unacceptable people picking up prescriptions are sick they should be treated like a human and a written apology should be posted!

Location: Walgreens Store #09373
NPI Number: [protected]
Details: I booked my appointment online a week in advance through the app. When I arrived there was line that I had to wait in. Once I got to the front, they were doing work on their computer for another 5 minutes even though I filled out all the information prior. Because of this they deemed me "late" for my appointment and didn't administer my shots but marked them as being done in their system so now my records are messed up. Not only was the pharmacist rude, but she had no human social skills to be working in such environment. I will be switching care due to negligent management and dealing with people who don't care about others.
Desired outcome: I would hope the pharmacist at this location takes some basic human interaction classes or decides to take time away from work as to not traumatize other customers

I moved to Florida a year and a half ago. The pharmacy I go to here in N Fort Meyers on Tamiami - the staff is very nice. However, every month it's a struggle to get my pain medication. I call 3 days in advance to let them know it is time to get my medication. I call 3 days before due date so they can order and have it in on day I need it. Which was today the 8th day of
Pu. Once again I see no notification on my phone so I call which is alarming. So I call -
Once again. Not in stock and because a weekend won't get it till Monday -
5 days without it. I have a terminal illness that causes bone pain and causes a lot of pain. Not understanding WHY this is so difficult.
Desired outcome: Am I asking too much? Again the staff is very nice. They said they said it is a supply problem. Can only order 1bottle forEveryone each month??????
Wal Tussin Long Acting Cough Syrup
I was faithful purchasing this product as it seemed to be the only cough syrup that quieted my cough so I could sleep. I have been looking for it since last fall with no success. I just called my local Walgreens in Harrison, Ohio and was advised they have a truck coming in on Saturday. That didn't help and don't answer my question. Don't they know what was ordered? Shipping is not available either as I would gladly go that route. My husband always bought everything that was on the shelf.
So I need to know is this product going to be stocked this year int next year or do I need to go else where?
Thank you

Started using store 7492 in 1998-Mike Pharmacist is a wonderful knowledgeable man that always smiling. Since He left this store is a Circus and no one knows nothing. Every time I call recording 3 people ahead of you, tried calling while there and sure enough 3 people ahead of me.
Tried calling yesterday always on hold - had to clean my hot tub so put phone on speaker and curious how long before they answered, then waited waited and waited, after 1 hour 35 minutes they picked up
the phone and HUNG UP ON ME ‼️ I went to Drive up today about 13:00 asked for my Prescription, just like it ALWAYS IS we don’t have an RX from your Doctor so I called Nurse put her on speaker had pharmacist come to the window,
Nurse said when she sent in and said Ron you need to find a new pharmacy “
After staring into computer for awhile oh here it is I will get it ready.
How many other people have driven off never to come back to this place! New Pharmacy Mgr and staff are clueless. You better get someone to straighten this place up. Im not Mikes best friend so my comments are as customer, you REALLY lost something when he left, he must have been there 25 years built many solid relationships w customers. If him leaving was over money or more time working Walgreens made a HUGE mistake. You will never get back the goodwill that Mike built up for your Pharmacy. I’ve told you what I’ve experienced and Im just guessing that you don’t care and nothing will change at Walgreens Amateur Hour. Good luck.

I am an Insulin dependant Diabetic and Walgreens has been my Pharmacy for years and I have never had a problem with getting my prescription until they changed to a central supply ordering (or something like that.). Now if I run out I have to wait for it to be ordered from somewhere and wait even longer for it to be delivered. Insulin is a life threatening medication and I could go into a Diabetic Coma if I don't use it 4 x daily.
Here is my complaint...My Walgreens Pharmacy was out of my Insulin and after I called around I found another Walgreens Pharmacy that said they had some and it would take an hour to be filled. Actually my Dr's office had to call them because they said they needed a refill order from my dr. who had given them the refill ok already and Walgreens denied receiving it. When I got to the other walgreens I was told they didn't have the Insulin,it would have to be ordered and they didn't know who I had talked to..
Desired outcome: To receive my Insulin
Never having my prescription
Walgreens 108th and Cleveland West Allis
1.They never have my prescription in, they have to order it and takes 2days another 2 days to call me and tell me I can pick it up.
2. Manager doesn't care about anything. He hides in the office. Pharmacy has no organization. People waiting for shots, 1 to 2 hr wait. Workers bunch up in the corner chatting, long line and 1 person checking them. There is no express lane!
3 my Hydrocodone was short of pills.
It wasn't like this at the Walgreens I work at.
Manager had that place organized, short wait time. Pharmacist had every prescription in.
I dealt with Mr. Walgreens and his son
Clinton, MD Walgreens unprofessional as a dispensing pharmacy
After rereading what I originally intended to post I decided to be more circumspect in what I am going to say. With an attorney in the family I think it wiser to not give Walgreens ammunition to come after me just in case they check this site. None of what I described was a lie, exaggerated, or imagined but I am very ill and after today can't risk any reprisal from Walgreens.
Within the last 5 days I have had 2 extremely negative interactions with Walgreens on Woody Terrace in Clinton, MD 20735. The 2nd experience today
was so negative with the pharmacy that I actually had to file a complaint with my BCBS provider as they have Walgreens as a preferred pharmacy. Prior to the pandemic I actually stopped using this Walgreens. The final straw at that time were 2 events.
1. They dispensed the wrong medication though the label had the name, quantity, prescribers name, my name etc. SOON as I opened the RX vial when I got home I knew it was the wrong drug. Took it back and they had the audacity to suggest I had switched the drugs. After about 20 minutes of arguing with them they filled the RX accurately probably because I threatened to call the police.
2. I picked up a RX for a seizure medication and knew instantly that there were nowhere near the number of pills in the vial as there should have been.
I stood off to the side and counted the pills and sure enough it was off by over a hundred pills. Again they insisted the number dispensed was accurate. I told them to count them and sure enough the count was very off. They corrected the RX but it was what pushed me to consider an alternative.
The problems with this store in the last week involved them refusing both an electronic RX transfer from my doctor and a printed copy of the same RX.
The second mess involved them telling me my insurance had been cancelled and I would have to pay full price which was just under $60. despite an attempted intervention by a BCBS case manager who was on hold for over 10min. He never did connect with them on the phone. I had a horrid interaction with a tech who answered the phone so I could get some clarification and that was what generated my calling BCBS. Being very ill I am unable to drive a car and run these sorts of errands and am dependent on family to do this sort of thing for me which is why I relented and tried using Walgreens since prior to the pandemic.. Walgreens is literally 5min. from our house and my preferred pharmacy is 30min. away. Both my sisters and BIL have jobs so it was easier to try Walgreens again but it isn't worth this nonsense There is one last RX which the BCBS case management team is attempting to resolve. Meanwhile I am just going to go back to my preferred pharmacy even though it is 30min. away.
If you live in Clinton, MD area you might seriously consider using an alternate pharmacy to this Walgreens store. My only posting this complaint is to give people in this area a heads up on the experience I have had with this store and not to generate any help dealing with them as BCBS is already attempting to resolve the problem..
Pharmacy service at Walgreen
I received a letter today from Walgreen telling me that all my medical information had been transferred to another pharmacy.
I was not informed that Walgreen was closing and was NEVER informed that my information would be transferred.
I called the Kroger pharmacy to have my name and all information completely deleted from the system.
I was told they would make it in-active. When I stated I wanted my name and ALL information deleted they said that they BOUGHT all the information from Walgreens and it was theirs now.
What authorization does Walgreen have to sell my medical information without my consent?
Desired outcome: I want my medical information completely deleted from the Kroger data base (not just in-active) and Walgreen to agree to stop selling peoples personal information.

I have been taking the same beta blocker for about ten years: metoprolol tartrate. I’m not fussy when it comes to brand name versus generic and all, but there is a specific manufacturer called Mylan and, for some reason, their pills are more effective for my tachycardia than another generic brand that Walgreens tends to dispense. Sometime like six or...

This morning while shopping at Walgreens store number 2171 in Savannah, GA, located on Derenne Ave, I was unable to make my purchase due to employee discrimination, attitude, and negligence. The money was available on the card through Google Pay, of which I have used before at this store. This morning they purposely blocked their Google Pay method in matters of discriminating against me. When I tried to resolve the situation by asking to move to a different register employees seem to have a attitude as if I am asking for to much for them to do there job. I have had it with the discrimination from this store. I feel as if every person should be treated the same especially when I spending my money in YOUR store. Something needs to be done about this situation or I will take it up in further action. I will also be getting details from transaction ID through bank to show proof of the negligence and discriminating behavior of this store. I also have almost every receipt since shopping at this particular Walgreens, show me being over charged for items that I compared to my grandma receipt yet I paid I higher price for the same object. STOP THE DISCRIMINATING AND GROW UP. WE HERE DEAL WITH IT!
Desired outcome: Employees were nasty and rude and did absolutely nothing to fix the situation they were causing
Wal-act D Cold and Allergy Tablets or Walgreens Cold & Allergy D
WALACT recently changed to WALGREENS COLD & ALLERGY D.
I use this Walgreen's distributed Allergy medication daily. (It is located behind the pharmacy counter...it is non RX but regulated closely due to the ingredients.). I have used Wal-Act (red box) for years and last month they changed the name and packaging to Walgreen's Cold and Allergy D (Navy Blue box.). This was the same formula as the old Actifed which is no longer made.
It appears that they have discontinued it. The last month i cant find it anywhere!
PLEASE BRING IT BACK! I dont know what i will do without it!
It is located behind the pharmacy counter...it is non RX but regulated closely due to the ingredients.
Desired outcome: PLEASE RE SUPPLY IT IN YOUR STORES!!!
Customer Service
I tried to buy items online for same-day pickup. It allowed me to buy items from Walgreens but kept refreshing for Walgreens Photo, wasting over an hour of collecting the photos, trying to upload the photos, getting them in the sizes I wanted, and creating a photo book. I called customer service. The first person told me that she would connect me with someone who could help and hung up on me. The second person gave me the online version of "have you tried turning it off and back on again," repeatedly went quiet so I wasn't sure if she was still there, offered no actual assistance, and transferred me to someone else who couldn't help. I asked to speak with a supervisor, who pretty much told me to go to a different store and then hung up on me. So now it is two hours later and all I have are picture frames with no pictures. I didn't even get the refund for the picture frames I requested.

Walgreens Callahan Florida
I had a sick visit with a physician in the same city at 3:20pm. A prescription was sent from the office before I left the building. At 5:30 I still had not heard anything and tried to call to make sure it would be ready before they closed but after 20 minutes waiting to get them my husband decided to just go there on his way home for me. When he arrived they said they did not have a prescription for me they don’t check messages but twice a day once in the a.m. and once just before closing to fill prescriptions. He asked for them to pull the prescription and they refused. So essentially instead of being able to start the medication tonight I will have to wait probably 24 hours bc I work tomorrow and they don’t open until after I have to be at work.
This Walgreens has some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I have never gone there that I did not have some sort of an issue with the pharmacy. If my health insurance did not require me to use this pharmacy I would have been gone years ago.
I have moved my regular prescriptions to another location hoping to get better service but it is not realistic (I thought) to go somewhere else when I live and see my doctor in the same small town and the other Walgreens is 30 minutes away. Apparently I would have been better off making the drive.
Desired outcome: Fill a new sick prescription asap. Get them more help. Teach customer service.
Phone manners
This is probably the 8th time I have reached out to Walgreen's about this, both locally and @ corporate, so I am pretty sure nothing will change, but I'm trying one last time. If it happens to me again, I will move my prescriptions across the street to CVS.
Whenever I call to speak with someone in the pharmacy I am immediately put on hold by the automated system. No problem. But then, EACH AND EVERY TIME, WITHOUT FAIL, as just happened to me AGAIN today: the hold music will be playing, the phone will ring, I get ready to speak, and someone at the pharmacy pushes a button that transfers me back to the hold music without the staff ever picking up. This happened to me today SEVEN TIMES before someone finally picked up. Which is, sadly, typical. I live 25 minutes from the pharmacy. One day, I called as I was leaving my house and I was still being slapped on hold over and over and was still on hold by the time I actually reached the store. Seriously, Walgreens!?!? Is that really the best you guys can do?
I don't know if it's just the Walgreen's on 10th St. in Greenville, NC or if the issue is widespread but I do know that it is very rude and the message it sends is that my business means jackcrap to your company. At the very least pick up and say "will you please hold?". SOMETHING. (Interestingly enough, the reason I even called today was because, after ordering a refill online, I was sent a message saying that, because of some technical issue, I needed to call the pharmacy. When the guy finally picked up, he told me he couldn't see any issue and everything was going through just fine. So I was put through all that for no reason.)
Bottom line for me, Walgreen's? If you are too busy to offer timely, courteous and respectful phone service, you are too busy for my business. I'm sure that won't matter much to such a large company, but I hope you will consider this: Years ago, while I was a bartender for a very popular restaurant in Raleigh, NC, at one of our staff meetings the general manager told us that of all the people who are not happy with the food, service, whatever, only 5% would inform the company. The rest would just stop coming and/or tell all their friends.
Desired outcome: I believe the desired outcome is obvious, but just in case.... treat your customers with respect and stop this insulting practice!! Let us know we are valued by Walgreens. Unless, of course, we are not.
WALG Diabetic SCK blk [protected] & Swedish Fish [protected]
2 issues
1st - WALG Diabetic SCK blk [protected]
store 04486 1 mile from my home has these socks priced $7.99
store 04668 2 miles from my home has the same socks $5.99 ($2 less than my closest store)
2nd - The bag of Swedish fish purchased at location 04486 $6.49 was very hard not soft and chewy I bought another bag @ 04668, and they were soft & chewy as they should be.
I am very concerned that the Walgreens closest to me is over charging on products. I don't have the time to price check all the products. Probably just need to shop CVS whose prices are comparable.
Desired outcome: Please respond and issue a refund for the Swedish fish $6.99 plus tax.
Walgreens Stratford Ct. The service is terrible unprofessional and the wait for someone to pick up the phone is between 30-45 minutes. I am changing my pharmacy this is nuts no one does their job anymore.
Fraud at Store #[protected] BARNES RD Colorado Springs, CO 80922)
I went to pick up my prescription, which had a quantity of 30. I counted them because the lady in line in front of me was not given the proper quantity. I was given a quantity of 15. When I went back to the counter to tell them, they took my prescription and then returned it with a quantity of 20. The third time I went to the counter, they yelled and were annoyed... NOT CONCERNED. I finally got the proper quantity of 30. This is happening at an alarming rate at this location. I will NEVER go to a Walgreens pharmacy again.

Desired outcome: This location should be audited, at the very least.
Closed early and abruptly.
I went to Walgreens on 100 broadway Elmwood Park NJ 07407 at 1am with my son on 11/23/2022. As soon as I get to the entrance the male employee with cornrows ran to the entrance and told us to stay out. Then started to lock himself inside the store by locking the doors. I was confused because there were no signs posted on the windows saying they were closing early. I noticed he was laughing and on his ears he had earbuds on so i figured he was talking to someone on the phone. I yelled out loud I thought you guys were opened 24hrs I needed to get a few things then he said he'll open in an hour. My email is [protected]@hotmail.com
Desired outcome: I want Walgreens to be transparent, the least they could have done was post a sign on window. They need to retrain their employees to better communicate and be respectful.
RXOM Whitney Patterson
Today at Walgreens on 5900 knight Arnold the RXOM Whitney Patterson yelled at a pharmacy technician in front of me and other customers . I over heard the young lady saying that she had went to the bathroom but yelling at your employee because she had to use the restroom in front of customers is very unprofessional. While she was doing the yelling I could have been gotten my medication. I waited for about 20 minutes before the young lady came back from im guess the restroom and helped me
Desired outcome: She does this a lot and she should be terminated asap. She always has a attitude and never helps just sits on her phone on the back end
I just had the same thing happen to me. Just like you I have been filling my suboxone at my local walgreens for 6 plus years. Suddenly, without warning, they claim they won't fill," out of town" prescriptions. I think that the new policy is very short sited for a couple of reasons.
First of all, any Doctor that has the license to prescribe that lifesaving medication has a limit on how many patients they can handle. Since I do not live in a major city my choices for help are very limited. All the local Doctors are full, and I have been forced to drive long distances to get the help I need. I do not have a choice. Next, this medicine is not the problem that true opioids are but for some reason buprenorphine gets lumped in with the lot. Finally, I would assume any policy created is supposed to be for the good and to stop abuse. In my case, I have been an established patient and customer. refusing to fill my prescriptions any longer is not serving the purpose of the policy. All my stuff checks out. I have never once had an issue with abusing the system, never have failed a drug screen. This new policy is going to force me back to the streets or worse. Walgreens is being very short sited and abusing its customers like me who have done nothing wrong. My hope is that common sense will prevail. I would think part of have a license for a pharmacist would allow them to use their discretion. This needs to happen and policy be reviewed case by case. I am a local loyal customer why would I be tossed out and mistreated after all the business I bring to the Company? Otherwise, Walgreens will end up abusing and punishing its customers like me without due cause. The only recourse we may have is to file a lawsuit. IDK. Maybe that's what Walgreens wants in order to prove a point. But doing that is putting people like me at risk bigtime. I pray someone in Corporate will see this and look into it. This is crazy.
