US Bank poor customer service

I setup an equity line over the phone and was told the line would be for a certain amount and rate. However when I went to use the line the rate I was charged was different (2 percentage points higher). Apparently with their premier equity line there is no one single rate, you get charged a different rate depending on how much you 'withdraw' from it.
That is not the bad part, the really bad part is that when I called to complain I was treated like crap, Michelle (id 77750) told me rudely 'it is not our fault' we sent you a contract or statement that listed what the rates and conditions were, you should have reviewed it. I agree with her I should have, but when I asked her repeatedly to admit that the bank could do a better job of explaining these things 'verbally', all she said was 'we sent you the terms and conditions', 'that is all we have to do'.

Crap service in my opinion, will be changing banks.

I purchased a laptop with my USBank Checkcard on 03/30.It was damaged I contacted the merchant who tried to make the manufacturer deal with it and vice versa. In April I filed a claim with USBank -rep said to wait for there response if they needed any additional info they would request it.May 17th I check my acount and the temporary creadit was reversed with no notice.I contact Cheryl in the checkcard disputes, an absolutely ignorant person that will hardly return phone calls and is extremely rude. Her reply is that she sent out a request for info. Not true. She says she is not really sure what I should do to proceed?!Then tells me to ship the laptop back to the store with delivery confirmation.I was told once that I provided proof of shipping with delivery confirmation back to store that the claim would be reopened and that I should not need to do anything else.I printed out the usps label with delivery confirmation and called back with it the same day.She repeated the number and verified it as a legit number via usps website. The funds were put back in the account a couple of days later.Flash forward 2 months.Friday my account appeared normal.Saturday morning I see they withdrew the funds again.I called customer service. They tell me Cheryl added other casenotes requesting a warranty?! and then sees the notes were added mistakenly to my case. Then she has me repeat the tracking number said Cheryl had put it in the file wrong. She tells me Cheryl will call me Monday morning and would fix the issue then.Monday afternoon I call her and after I ask to speak to a supervisor when she was unavailable, USBANK refused saying none were available. She eventually calls to tell me that she denied the claim because the crooked store said they dont have it.I mailed it I have a receipt of shipping info.If they refused the package or delivered it without scanning I am not sure. She said she did request paperwork and I did not respond.Nothing received about this claim at all but do receive statements, offers. She had a nasty attitude I requested to speak to a supervisor who said that their decision is final then states the paperwork was mailed Friday...today is Monday.I'm sure I will not getting anything because the rep is a liar. Thanks for the notice UsBANK if I did not check my account daily I would not know that you took out hundreds without so much as notifying me.Glad you take the word of a company that sells a damaged product and makes no effort to fix it.I have already gotten the direct deposits I had routed into your bank back to my other bank.Account will be closed but not before I post about your shady practices. Not so much as one letter or phone call in 4 months.I will not deal with a bank that can't get things straight, avoids me and is rude.

A paragraph inserted into my regular account statement from my USBank in Centennial, CO, informed me that USBank just completed their periodic update of the "Your Deposit Account Agreement" booklet.

The stated the changes are effective "immediately". (June 1st, 2017), although my statement arrived in the mail on June 30, 2017!

Among other "changes" they "noted", was the addition of a "Cellular Phone Contact Policy"...(copied and pasted word for word below)

"CELLULAR PHONE CONTACT POLICY
By providing us with a telephone number for a cellular phone or other wireless device, you are expressly consenting to receiving communications – including but not limited to prerecorded or artifical voice message calls, text messages, and calls made by an automatic telephone dialing system – from us and our affiliates and agents at that number. This express consent applies to each such telephone number that you provide to us now or in the future and permits such calls regardless of their purpose. Calls and messages may incur access fees from your cellular provider." (end)

This was unbelievable to me when I read it! I do not use a landline phone at all. I use my cell phone for everything and it is my only "phone" line. Basically, they have informed me that by having an account(s) at USBank, I am now consenting to a flood of unwanted telemarking, text messages and the broadcast sharing of my cell phone number to all of their affiliates and "friends". (You are forced to supply a number because of the Patriot Act).

Now I know where the sudden flood of "unknown" numbers and voice mail messages/text messages on my cell phone came from during the last two weeks!

I have checking and savings accounts with over 6 figure balances. My first stop tomorrow is to my bank to cancel my accounts. Next stop will be to my cell phone provider to change my cell number.

This nonsense has gone too far for me. It is time to remind these ego-maniacs that the customer is the reason they are in business, regardless of how much they like to think they are "invinceable".

US Bank turning in car, horrible empoloyee

I had heard really bad things about us bank leases, just before I turned my car in. I was hoping these were just angry people, was not true! The representative that check out my car was impolite and unfriendly - to say the least!@! His name is robert grunau and talked to me grudgingly. I will never lease from us bank again! I am a mom, with a perfect car. I rented from mercedes before, and they were great - very straight forward - no scatches bigger that a credit card. Us bank has strange rules! Do not lease a car from us bank.

I tried to make an online payment for my Volvo car lease and I double checked the account number. I also called them and I was told that everything was fine. Today I happened to find that there was no transfer and they insisted that I inputed the wrong number. I loged in and could not find any evidence in the website. This service is really bad and don't use it. It will be really the hastle that I have to go to their branch physically.

I just leased a 2012 Volvo and of course since Volvo does not handle their own leases anymore US Bank is who I have to deal with. I have not made my first payment yet and I already see US Bank sucks in a bad way! I have leased 2 Jaguars, Mercedes and my last car was an Audi and they all handled their own leases which is a much better experiece for the lease holder. US Bank has no information available on their website and the so-called "lease department" when you call barely knows anything! I can't believe Volvo would have such representation...I have learned a valuable lesson...I will NOT lease another Volvo! US Bank is useless and Volvo needs to reconsider taking on their own leases again.

US Bank home equity loan process

In mid June 2009, my husband and I decided to apply for a home equity loan on our condo in Flagstaff, when our credit card company raised the interest rate on our balance to an unbelievable high. The condo is completely paid off as is our home in Kingman, all our vehicles and our rv. According to our American Express Credit Secure service, we have a credit score of 782. We have a steady monthly income with one payment towards the one credit card.
The process they put us through in the two months since, was unbelievably vague and unprofessional. We never received a loan packet which normally includes an application and request for various documents, such as what we owe, what we earn. Little by little, they would request another document or other and never let us know whether we were going to get the loan, how the application was progressing or anything. The local bank didn't know what was going on. We were completely jerked around. We asked and asked what was going on, what documents did they need. It was always the same answer. 'they're waiting for something or they needed an "additional document". Just today we received notification that we were turned down. We have never been turned down on a loan and are completely disgusted with this bank. Don't use US Bank. We will be closing our account. We used Downey Savings for years and never had any trouble, now that they are US Bank, they have insulted us, lowered our credit score by their refusal and they are unprofessional in their business.

Dear JoAnn Patterson,

Almost word for word our experience with a pending loan with US 'bank has been identical to yours. Although we have more credit card debt due to recent property construction improvements, our FICO was 707 and we have a perfect timely payment record, paying more than the minimum each month. US Bank tried everything to suppress the value of our 16 acres. We are just across the Highway from an Urban Growth Development area. At the edge of an up and coming area, although growth and sales have slowed down, the area is relatively healthy compared to most of the US.

We have a approximately $350, 00 more in "current value" according to comparisons than their appointed appraiser shows. The intention for this loan is to pay down our credit cards, which we would readily agree to US Bank cutting checks directly to them from the escrow.

Like you, we have NEVER been turned down for a home loan in our lives until US Bank fiasco. Over the past years we have purchased six homes.

Admittedly we felt a bit uneasy as they never gave us a loan packet or any application to fill out. When we asked, their manager replied that they don't need an application from us as they submit an application in our behalf. Most of the docouments we submitted were not even requested but we knew that they would be necessary in order to process our loan. Then they waited almost two weeks to respond to underwriting's request for documents, although we had been urging them to fax them over to them.

Had we known that we would be getting the run around for so long, we would have applied elsewhere but they just kept dangling the carrot, with little tidbits of information and insignificant document requests. We even received several letters of acceptance for our loan from US Bank's home office.

We are very active seniors, both with very lucrative businesses, married to each other for 47 years.

Is this a possibility of ILLEGAL AGE DISCFIMINATION or is US Bank safeguarding their excecutive Bonus Monies.

We hope this helps others in their search for a lender of integrity... it certainly is not US Bank in Oregon.

The worst customer service department I've ever experienced. Substandard knowledge and intelligence of representatives. I was transferred numerous times to get to the leasing department. I asked for the direct number so that the next time I called I wouldn't have to go through the maze, but they wouldn't give it to me. The first rep I talked to took all of my information, then said "excuse me, I have to leave now", and then he transferred me to another and then to another. Consumers BEWARE - do not lease through US Bank. Make sure your car dealer reveals the bank to you before you sign.

Wish I had found this site and others before dealing with US bank. The leasing division is the worst of all. The treatment I received from their people was the rudest and most frustrating thing I have ever dealt with. Got even worse when I went to purchase the truck. Their lack of attention to the financing lead to another convieniant addition to the payment when I was tolod their wasnt going to be up front. Don't even get me started about the revolving door they call interest rates.

US Bank wrong overdrafts and unknown accounts

I was a valued bank memeber with us bank for a few years. I closed the acount because I caught them putting overdraft fees on my account for no reason! I had to call five times before someone just admitted they didn't know how that happened. The other reps just tried to figure a way to make it seem like i'm crazy. Fortunately, I got someone after the fifth call that knew it was unexplainable. Anyway, so I closed that account. When I tried to open another account at another bank, I was in the chexsystems for us bank! The other bank rep told me that us bank said I owed them $2, 750.00! So, when I called them to ask wtf, the rep tolp me I had 3 accounts and they all had a balance of over $300.00. I'm in the process getting it resolved, but it doesn't make sense that I have to go through this! Never bank with us bank!

Sounds like employee theft to me. Point the finger at that branch's employees. If any employees were let go during your time banking with them for poor business practices, your account(s) will get linked to that time frame I bet.

US Bank customer service

I have a car loan with U.S. Bank. I was receiving paper statements and decided to go paperless with online statements and by receiving email alerts. The email alerts never arrived. Customer Service told me to place them on my 'contacts' list which I immediately did. Still no email alerts. My second call/email to Customer Service informed me that my emails were bouncing back as undeliverable despite the fact that the address is completely correct. They recommended I set up text alerts for my cell phone. I did so. The text messages came...at 5:00 a.m.! On my third contact with Customer Service, they informed me the text messages are random and they cannot control the time they arrive. They also told me regardless of whether my alerts were arriving, it was my responsibility to remember to make payments. After 4-5 months of no satisfaction from Customer Service, I went back to paper statements. I have NEVER had any difficulty with any online banking alerts coming to my email, so something is definitely wrong with the system at U.S. Bank. Lesson learned...never allow your car dealership finance dept to choose your financing company.

I have had the same experience at US Bank. My email provider said that the US bank emails contain link(s) that have been identified as spam so the email provider is bouncing the entire email as spam. US Bank needs to get their servers off of the spam lists.

US Bank late fee charges

I added my us bank credit card to my us bank bill pay almost 2 months ago received a phone call from them stating that I had not payed my bill... I had assumed that us bank would have provided me with bill alerts being that it is after all their bank and also due to the fact that when I set up the bill pay for their card that they issued me the us bank website stated that the information would be added to my bill pay since they have information on the biller that I was adding... Needless to say, no notice was given and yes a "late fee" was charged for what they claim was "my oversight."

Umm, hello Maggie! I know you replied to another complaint about US Bank and as the other person stated in another complaint, they did check their account online, as well as calling in and checking. The available balance is not correct! I closed my account with them in 2007. In September of 2009 I received a call from an attorneys office stating that I owed $1900.00 to US Bank! I asked how, no one can give me an answer. After going back and forth for the past 4 months, and paying $160.00 a month due to the fear this will go on my credit, still no information. I have never once received any information from US Bank of any charges that went through after I closed the account and of coarse, error on my part, never obtained paperwork stating my account was closed by my decision. I have reported the collection agency to the FTA for an unauthorized transaction and contacted the attorney today. They stated the amount might be from an $8.00 a day fee. I asked for a signature that I agreed to that fee, they stated there was nothing signed, it is in the terms and conditions. Stated that I need proof showing that I was provided the terms and conditions and they can't come up with anything. I will more than likely be taking them to small claims court. Attorney refused to be recorded. Odd, right?

US Bank systems are designed to ensure "customer errors amd ommissions" that generate late fees. It is part of their business strategy. Their credit card site provides no confirmation number for on line payments and then takes no responsibility for payments that they did not receive. They are the only bank/credit card company that I ever have a problem with out of the 13 personal and business accounts that I manage. I think that Balckplatter's mistake was not assuming that US Bank would send an alert but the mistake was assuming the bank was honest, ethical and professional.

What department do you work in at US Bank?

US Bank charge me with fraud

I worked for a company near a us bank, I found out that the company kept all it accounts at the us bank. So I opened a checking account at that us bank, big mistake. My first pay check was placed on hold for over one week. They stated they needed to verify the check. I was promised in writing, after much complaining to have the check released and credited to my account on a specific date. I need to pay my bills and so on that day the check was to be released I sent payments. Well, I found out the check was not released, it was sent to us bank fraud division. They had to check to see if the check was a fraud. Mind you all was need was a call to the company less than a mail away. Us bank claimed this was standard procedure with a check for the amount on my paycheck.. Some $1400.00. After a mouth the what was left of my check was credited to my account. During all this us bank took money, insuffent funds fees out of my check, when one of the checks I wrote came in. I showed the bank manager the letter from them promising me the check would be credited to my account an a specificed date, her rely.."we were investigating a possible fraud"... I was never charged with any crime by us bank or any other agency or person.

Last month (November 2012) I accepted a job as a "Mystery Shopper". I received a check in the mail for $1, 290.00. I contacted the supposed employer and they gave me instructions on how to spend the money and send reports to them. I then deposited the check and waited for it to clear. Once the check cleared, I called the company to advise them. They advised me to follow their instructions on how to spend the funds. I did part of what I was told to do before the check came back as bad. My Bank (U.S. Bank) then closed my account, reported me to Chexsystems and sent my account to collections all in one week. I was NEVER given a chance to correct the issue. Plus, because U.S. Bank reported me to Chexsystems, My secondary bank (Citibank)closed the account I had with them. Personally, I feel this was Bad Business on the part of U.S. Bank because I've had my account with them for approximately 7-8 years and NEVER had a situation like this. Now because I have been reported to Chexsystems, I can't open a bank account. Also, The Collection Agency Harasses me on a daily basis. Is this Legal?

US Bank lease

US Bank "steals" again! Actually, my nickname for US Bank is the
"U Suck" Bank of America...Leased a Honda CRV for four years and turned it into the dealership on the due date. Not one late payment EVER! There were NO Excess Wear & Tear damages. The car was in pristine condition with 2, 000 miles UNDER the lease agreement. Then, a month later, I recieved an "End of the Contract" Termination fee for $420 bucks...WHAT! We've leased prior and have never been charged a penny for FULFILLING the lease agreement. I guess this is why the banks are such a struggling financial institution and need government assistance...yeah right. Not if you're stealing like US Bank! I'm done with them and will NEVER deal with US BANK for anything! I'm writing a letter to the car dealerships and urging them to eliminate US Bank as an option for financing any kind of auto loan. I feel like I have to personally do something to stop the dirty scoundrels!

I am a leasing agent with a large leasing company. I've never seen a lease that did not have a end of term fee. It's usually $250-$500. The company you should be angry with is the dealership you leased it from. They knew when they leased it from you, there was a fee. You should also be angry with yourself for not reading the lease agreement yourself. Never trust a car dealership, ESPECIALLY on a lease. I'm not defending US Bank, but in the case of the end of term fee, they all charge one. It pays for the inspector to come out and transport the car to the auction.

I have an auto loan with U.S. Bank and got the payment protection plan with it. I was allowed 30 days to cancel the plan with no charge. I decided to cancel and notified them within a few days. I even recieved a cancellation confirmation. They keep charging me every month for it, and after numerous phone calls (no one ever returns your call) they said I just have to keep paying the extra amount and it will be applied towards my loan balance. When I applied for this loan they said that if I cancel, the amont would be subtracted from my monthly payment. None of my statements reflect this and I can only assume I will pay over $700 for nothing.

In fact, your "guess" is totally wrong. The vehicle was in near perfect condition, as confirmed by the Volvo dealer who I did ask to inspect it at turn-in. US Bank's response to this was to point to the lease language that specifically disallows any inspections by any party other than their own inspection. On why I didn't keep the car after lease, the answer is simple: I did not choose that route because I wanted a smaller, more fuel efficient car. Anticipating this possibility four years previous, I chose to lease, rather than purchase, so that I would have that option. In my case, the issue actually has nothing to do with the condition of the vehicle (I am fine to argue over whether a 3/16" door ding is excess wear and tear), but rather concerns the one-sided nature of the lease contract language. Their standard contract defines excess wear and tear as any scratch, ding, windshield nick--anything--and leave the determination of such only to US Bank's inspector. The lease specifically denies the lessee any recourse to challenge the assessment or the charges, again determined solely by the Bank and its inspector. This issue is not specific to me, but is common to ALL US Bank vehicle lessees. When challenged on this point, US Bank simply responded that that is the lease language and I signed it. While that is a correct statement, it does not make it a fair, or possibly, even legal contract. In my opinion, it is a contract of adhesion and is patently unfair. And it is a practice that US Bank should not be allowed to get away with.

Mr. Abfalter, handed me a letter that steven knox, truste sent to him that states in writting, thank you for keeping your word on nondisclosure to bill.. What we must keep private are the names of the co-trustees and terms of the trust. Stated steven knox to liechtenstein truste alexander abfalter. US Bank increase in interest rate

I opened my statement today and found an increase in the APR to 15.24%. It was 5.25%!

My situation is similar to others that have posted. I pay on time and i've paid more than the balance due. I called twice today and ended up with a supervisor that treated me like I was an idiot. Where can I go to find out what the justification would be for banks to do this? That's all I was asking. What's going on? Things are happening every month - reducing limits on cards, changing terms, raising rates.

If there is nothing the banks can do, what can consumers do? Anything consumers try to do sometimes create more problems that affect the credit score. This whole thing is getting ridiculous!

yup, happened to me too. I`ve been paying my dues loyally ever since i got a US Bank card. I started off at 0% promotional rate till November 2009, then once that expired they jacked the rate to 9.15% in December 2009. Heres the problem, in January 2010, they jacked up the rate again to 13.99% without notifying me or sending me any letter!
i`ve had it with these idiots playing us like fools and here we are bailing banks out with our taxpayer money while their CEO's still rake in their millions in bonuses.
I think its about time we get together and sue these criminals!

But then the thought occurred to me that if they can increase our rates like this, then they can probably close out our accounts for any reason whatsoever, so then I "backed down" because IF they would close our account it would again damage our credit. What a crock! Our interest rate was also increased to 15.24% - that seems to be the amount across the board. But you know what "still" worries me is that they made it a VARIABLE rate which leaves it open for them to increase IT EVEN MORE! YIKES - WHERE WILL IT END? I agree something does need to happen now - not next year. What good does 2010 do us - that only gives them more time to think of ways to screw us. Unhappy in Wyoming...

They did the same thing to me. I just called and they told me that they check my credit score every 90 days. Since they noticed a change in my credit score they increased my interest rate from 5.15% to 15.24%. I told them they had no right checking my credit scores as long as I pay my payment on time (which I do every month). They also told me that I should have received a letter indicating that my interest rate was increasing. I told them I never received the letter. I am waiting for a supervisor to call me back. The lady told me that this sort of thing won't be happening when the new law goes into affect next year - in the meantime the consumers are getting screwed! Something needs to happen now - not next year!

This seems to be a pattern with USBank. They do not give out any information when requested. When one threatens to excersize their rights USBank gets pissy. My trust administrator threatened to liquidate our real estate holdings so to "diversify our assets". That would have been disaster in this economic climate.

My advise: get a good attorney and push USBank to resign the trust. Make yourself the trustee! Start with letters to Diane Thormodsgard and Mark Jordahl at USBank corporate in Mn

US Bank bank fraud, nondisclosure, tax fraud

Us bank trust, in milwaukkee involed in perjury to a state judge and nondisclosure of assets in offshore locations to cover tax fraud. Family members, and trust officers in order to control assets eclared william r, justen, justin. Insane. The law office of whyte hirschboeck in milwaukee, wisconsin also involed. The trustees refuse to release documention, and past correspondence, even after trust officer, steven knox states I william r. Juten am legally in the right. Knox, also threaed william justen inwritting stating, we wish you financial harm. And refuse to pay mr. Justens mortage payments so othe family members, can take advantage of wiliam justens financial gains. They have also hidden assets in offshore countries, like liechtenstein, grand cayman, bahamas to avoid taxation and to keep him from his assets. And in order to continue there massive fraud they have created another john justen, to asure the funds hidden behind the blind trust do not go to the legal holder, william robert justen. Assets go as far back as world war wo in the country of belguim, switzerland, germany, ect, they accomplish there illegal activities, by funds to political leaders to asure the fbi, and irs do not spoil there fifty some odd years of fraud, for more written proof, contact [protected]@hotmail.com

US Bank online banking

US Banks online banking has been down for over 2 hours. They are displaying a message saying they are doing "routine maintenance." I work in IT and I know that no one does rountine maintanence in the middle of the day by choice --- I assume they were having an issue. I finally called the bank to see if there was an ETA on when the problem would be fixed and the system would be back online. To my great surprise, I was told there is no problem (nor was there an ETA as to when it should be back up. I was told to just 'keep trying'). US bank has purchased some banks in California and they are running a conversion program to integrate customer information into their regular system. DURING NORMAL WORKING HOURS?! Excuse me? What kind of an organization impacts their customers to run a rountine program that should be handled during the overnight hours like everyone other real-time transaction processing shop does it? Clearly, this company doesn't care about customer service. This is the proverbial last straw for me. I'm going bank shopping.

US Bank terrible bank

On Oct. 6th, 2009 my parents sent me 850.00 dollars, from the sale of my car, I paid my rent with a check (I had enough money to cover the rent and the check fee in my account). My mom said when she put the money in my account she paid a fee; what she didn't realize and therefore couldn't tell me was she had sent me a wire transfer and now I had been charged $20.00. I have had money transferred into my account on several occasions and I had never been charged before.

On Oct. 15, a post card was sent to my address, because my balance was negative $88.25. I went to the bank and talked to the manager as soon as I received the notice. We looked at my account and he informed me of the wire transfer charge and the fees that had been caused by it. I hadn't used my debit card stupidly I just wasn't aware of how the money had been transferred to my account. The bank manager explained how wire transfers to us and then said if we paid the $20.00 wire transfer fee he would 'refund' the other fees we had been charged. We paid the fees and our account was set to zero. (I don't have the exact dates or the exact amount 'refunded' but I am going to get it).(because of this 'refund' I couldn't get another one when I really needed it).

On Dec. 19, 2009 we received very sad news that forced us to take a trip to Reno, we started this trip with $362.00. On the way to Reno we encountered three winter storms, a shucks auto person sold us tire chains that were way to big, so we bought more chains, and in this frantic state we did not remember that we charged Jiffy lube which was $47.94 and one other charge (maybe starbucks). We almost never use our debit card, we drove straight to Reno, it took twenty hours and we made fifteen purchases on Dec. 22.

On Dec.22 we over drew on two purchases one for $10.93 and one for $9.79, our ending balance on the statement says we closed at $14.48.

On the 23rd, we made two purchases using the debit card one for $9.45 and one for $7.89 our ending balance on the 23rd was negative $72.86 (we were charged two overdraft fees at $35 each).

On the 24th, we made one purchase of $11.38 and we received two $35 dollar over draft fees. (Ending balance of negative $154.24).

On the 26th, we made one purchase for $1.38, we received one overdraft charge of $37.50 and one for $16.00. (Ending balance of negative $209.00)

Yes I know we should have checked the balance but at the time I didn't once think about the bank, and I assumed that we had whatever money was spent. Some how we also didn't think that the debit card kept working well below, we have now been corrected on that matter. In total we take complete responsibility for the $60.00 dollars in over drafts. We were not able to return from Reno because of a storm that caused road closure, and our front strut broke and shredded two tires.

When we returned on Dec, 31st I found the notices in the mail and on Jan. 2nd I went to the bank. The bank manager informed me over the negative balance of $302.00. I asked about repayment plans, getting a credit card to charge the debit onto, but the manager said he couldn't do anything and that I would be charged $8 dollars a day for every day negative; I had to pay rent which we amazingly had the money for after taking an extremely unplanned trip.

On Jan.13, 2009 I went to the bank I had been to (in Oct) they suggested I go to my home branch, talk to the manager about maybe paying half and having them fix('refund') the rest. On Jan 12 the ending balance was negative $382.62

Around Jan. 20th, I went to my 'home' branch, the manager wasn't there, I took $150 cash and by the time I was done talking with the teller I put my money away. The $8 dollar a day fee would eat away the money until I could pay the debit in full. He also said because I had a recent (from Oct) 'refund' on my account that I can get another 'refund'.

When I went to my 'home' branch I took the letter I had received ( the return address was from that branch) ; this letter said I could call an 866# and get enrolled in a repayment plan. When I asked the teller about the repayment plan he had no knowledge of it, then after he read the letter and said I could only enter the program by calling the phone number.

When I did talk to my 'home' branch manager she also said because I had been 'refunded' money previously that she couldn't help me.

I called the phone number, (I continue to call this phone number), the only thing that has happened so far is I get 'the voice mailbox is full' or it rings and then it makes the awful noise. I finally got into the program on the last day my account was open, they didn't answer though I pressed 0 and got transferred to a real live person who was somehow part of the repayment department. First they had me hold my account open longer so they could file the appropriate paper work, and then they set me up for a $94.00 payment every 15th for the next six months.

I made one payment( now I only owe $458), then my boyfriend and I both lost our jobs. I also found out I am pregnant. All I wanted was a repayment plan that could make this debt smaller so I could pay it, everybody (bank managers and tellers ) said they couldn't help me. I don't know what to do. I want to see if they will allow me to skip a payment, I still owe rent for this month, I have been trying to call them since the 10th of march and I can't get a hold of them. I hold for like 15 minutes and then it says ' voice mailbox is full' or it rings and then I get a busy signal.

I went to the bank and had the manager call the 866# but she couldn't get through either. She finally called another number and they said the weather where the repayment plan is located is really bad.

All the USBank branches I go to tell me I need to call the 866#, even when I tried pressing 0 on the 866# number they said they couldn't help me. It's like repayment is a separate country.

I can't pay this month, I don't know if anyone knows what I should do. I posted this here because I wanted to pay what I owe, I couldn't while I was being charged eight dollars a day, and now that I am finally in the repayment plan I can't talk to anybody to tell them what's going on. I just feel like I am being pushed into debit.

Can some one really tell me what the ramifications of not being able to pay this debt is? I have no credit as far as I know, I have never owned a credit card or bought something with payments just because I was trying to avoid debt. Now I am not sure if it's worth it I could do a lot $458 and without the trouble of dealing with a broken banking system.

I deposited $200.00 through ATM. This was my first time doing so. An envelope came out of the ATM and put 2- $100 dollor bill in and put it back to the machine.
I did not get a receipt. When I received the statement I discovered that it showed $200.00 withdraw. I lost $400.00. I contacted customer service and told me that
I do not have any proof and there is nothing they can do. I can not believe their answer. They should have records of all the ATM transactions.
I guess I have to contact Police Department. I want to see their proof of me withdrew money.

Dealt with mortgage specialist for refinancing at the Fox lake, Illinois branch and was given the run around since March of this year. She kept coming up with every excuse as to why it was taking so long at the underwriters and as of today, I am still waiting for approval. Very discouraged with this bank. Would not recommend this bank, because it seems that they do not want to help. They would rather have you not pay your mortgage and foreclose then to help you with refinancing.

I don't really see your point here. You spent more money than you had, and you think this is somehow the bank's fault? How would you feel if I borrowed $400 from you and then said I couldn't pay because I had an emergency in Reno and lost my job and became pregnant?

US Bank illegal cash advance

I broke my leg and was in the hospital when my husband called me saying he was having problems getting money from an atm.. he had made 3 withdeaws at an atm i went online and found out that he had the wrong atm card. so i transferred 480.00 from the other acct we have to the account he had taken from. i did this immediately...now that was on a fri ..mon i called the bank. explained what happened to the bank manager jennifer at the st roberts, mo branch..she said ok she could remove the 6x 37.50 fee's but i would have to come in and sign a form requesting the removal..i explained again i just got out of hosp and couldnt drive. she was rude and said then the fee's would remain, i was able to get a neighbor to drive me an hour to the closest bank where jennifer faxed the form, i signed it filled it out explaining what happened and that us bank faxed it to the st roberts bank to jennifer the bank manager.. i didnt hear from her so i called her the next day. she said she would decided weather or not to remove the fee's and i would need to get money in there or have daily fee's accumulate. i explained to her i did not have funds to put in there as im not working ive broken my foot and going thru surgery. several days passed and i called her at this point she would not speak or return my calls this went on for a week i called the main office in st louis several times they said they called her and she would be calling me...she didnt meanwhile an 8.00 a day fee was incurring on that account. i called again and she told an emoployee craig to tell me to put money in there by taking a cash advance i told him no. i wouldnt be able to pay that back my boss has now fired me because of my broken foot.. jennifer told him to tell me to bad the fee's will continue i asked him to just close all 4 of my accounts. he said jennifer said no i needed to take an advance. the next day i went online and he did he took an advance of 330.00 from 1 account and deposited into the other..i called and asked to talk to jennifer but she refused my calls...i called st louis main office 4 days later she called 1mar.2009 i told her someone took an advance on my account and put in the other one. she said well that is cheaper than the 8.00 a day fee. i said i dont care i did not authorise craig to do that..she said oh well now i will close your other 3 accounts and when your tax check comes you can pay that off...i have banked at this bank since 1988 and have never in my 52 years of life been treated and lied to as i have with this bank manager jennifer from st roberts, missouri us bank.

US Bank overdraft

So there is 600 dollars in my account and 5 pending transactions on Monday.

I rent a car on Wed. and they authorize for more than the available balance.

3 transactions go through Thursday and accrue 3 overdraft charges that amount to over 100 dollars in fees... even though the actual transactions occurred days before the car rental and even as I write this, there is enough money to cover them as the car rental and the other 2 pending transactions from before the car rental still have not cleared. In the end I anticipate that because the car rental was so cheap but they authorized for so much more than it actually costed, I'm going to have over 200 dollars in fees but my actual balance will never have actually gone into the negatives EVEN AFTER THE FEES.

So thats right, at the end of the day there is enough in my account to cover the actual transactions AND the fees that are apparently being charged because "there wasn't enough money" WITHOUT ever actually going into the negatives.

US Bank overcharged

USBank allows banking customers to make debit card purchases, even if their account is in the negative. You can't assume that you are protected. They are happy to charge you $37.50 bounce charge for a $3.00 coffee purchase. You might have a deposit that is returned. They don't notify you of the situation for almost 7 working days. In the meantime, you continue to make debit card purchases, thinking that your account has funds. I didn't KNOW my account was in the negative. In the 7 days it took USBank to have the US Postal service deliver a notice to my mailbox, I made a total of 12 purchases. 12 x $37.50 in fees.

I called USBank and the Branch Manager agreed to put my account on hold until the problem could be resolved. He lied. My account continued to accrue Daily negative fees of $8.00. In fact, my account was set up to transfer $50 from my checking account to my savings account every month on the 15th. USBank processed this transaction...$50 from my NEGATIVE checking account into my savings account. They then proceeded to charge $37.50 for the transaction. When my deposit was returned to the bank, it caused my account to go into the negative. They assessed a $19 returned check fee. THEN they charged a $37.50 bounce fee on the $19 returned check fee. THEN they charge an $8 per day negative balance fee on top of the $27.50 plus $19.00.

I asked the branch manager to provide the written policy that allows them to charge fees on fees on top of fees. He told me providing that information was 'not in his job description'.

If you look at your account online, you may see that they are bouncing checks even when you show a POSITIVE balance. I asked why they were doing this. I was told I didn't KNOW HOW TO USE MY TOOLS. You have to double click on the balance to discover the REAL balance, which is almost always less than the balance they are showing on the register. There is no way to figure out HOW they come up with that number.

This is FRAUD plain and simple and it needs to be reigned in! These people are crooks and the people that continue to work for them should be ashamed of themselves.

Banking customers are human beings. They have families. They are drawn to USBank because USBank advertises 'FREE' checking. THEN...they institute policies that are hidden, like the ones described above. Oh yeah...they might put them in the fine print. They insisted to me that they explain them in detail when you open your account. THEY DO NOT. It is theft. It is fraud. It is preying on the low income, pay check to pay check community and it needs to be ended.

I hear all this complaining about the interest rates charged at check cashing stores. That's NOTHING! This most recent fiasco resulted in fees that, when totaled and annualized, came to 8, 076% annual interest.

In this time of economic difficulty EVERYWHERE, we should all be VERY selective about who gets to control our money. USBank is made up of thieves. BEWARE. BOYCOTT this bank. Head for a credit union. These days you don't have to be an employee to join them. Their focus is not so much on profit as it is on service.

Pull you money out of USBank and any other institution that preys on the little guy.
