I have been a State Farm customer for over 30 years. On March 28, 2025, our town had a severe thunderstorm along with hail. Seeing neighbors getting new roofs due to hail damage, I had a contractor (with over 20 years’ experience in roofing) come to my home to inspect and he verified we had hail damage. I called State Farm and filed a claim. SF sent an inspector out (Maure Tiller) and our contractor walked with Mr. Tiller on the roof and pointed out the damage. Mr. Tiller was inattentive and just short of being hostile with our contractor. Mr. Tiller stated (but never took pictures) there was no damage. Our contractor then was able to get Mr. Tiller to look again, and Mr. Tiller now agreed there was gutter and vent damage but still denies that the damage to the roof was caused by hail, thus denying the roof claim. Mr. Tiller agreed to have State Farm pay us for the gutters and vents. This was all confusing and seemed wrong in all aspects, so I contacted State Farm for a reinspection with a different adjuster. State Farm stated they don’t do reinspection, and we needed to email pictures to show our cause. Our contractor sent in 15 photos of the damage and WITHIN ONE HOUR the claims department shot back a denied claim saying the adjuster saw no damage. However, here’s the kick in the pants, this adjuster was the SAME ADJUSTER, Maure Tiller! Did State Farm think this adjuster, who was almost hostile to begin with, is going to say, "Oops"? How idiotic is State Farm to do business this way? How could we have damage to our vents and gutters, but the 15 pictures supposedly show no damage to the roof?
Desired outcome: Full roof replacement in accordance with our Homeowner's Policy.
