Maytag review: Maytag refrigerator model MRSF6636RZ--

I ordered this side by side on the Maytag (Whirlpool) website. The delivery was fairly quick. The set up by delivery people was okay. They did not remove all the protective film but got 90 percent of it. The refrigerator works excellent. The temperature is consistent throughout the entire unit. It is spacious. Icemaker works great so far. My family really likes this unit. My only problem is not with the unit itself; it is with the company. When you order new filters do due diligence. Ordering filters on Maytag website is expensive and you cannot cancel the order or return it. I made the mistake of ordering a 2 pack from Maytag at a cost of $92 + $5 tax after a discount (reg $107 + tax). I saw the exact same filter a few minutes later for $57 for a 2 pack. I went back to Maytag website to cancel the order with them, and a pop-up box appeared saying filter orders are not eligible for cancellation or returns and to call a supplied number. I called the number, but it took a day and a half to reach anyone. They said order could not be canceled and to call back when I received parts and they would talk about returning at that time. Needless to say, I called upon receipt and was placed on hold. While on hold I researched the return policy and found that returns on filters are possible, but return shipping and handling are not free and must use UPS. Any savings would be eaten up so after being on hold for almost an hour I gave up.

I take this as a sign of their customer service. 3 weeks after receiving the refrigerator I received an email stating the manufacturer's warranty had been extended from 1 year to 2 years. Since I had purchased an extra year of warranty for $99, I called to verify I now had 3 years warranty. I was transferred from person to person, and no one had a clue of what the email was about. I will cancel the extended warranty I purchased as it looks like it is all a bunch of %$. This is a great refrigerator though, I can't say the same about customer support.
