This review was chosen algorithmically as the most valued customer feedback.

I am a customer and a prescriber.

I had my prescriptions transferred to another pharmacy due to my new insurance plan.

And my new pharmacy was not able to fill one of my scripts (Atorv) because my insurance denied the fill as too soon.

So I called the pharmacy today 10/8/23, some time after 11am and spoke with the pharmacy tech. I explained to him the situation and he said his system wasnt showing the fill. I explained to him that I was on the CVS website as we were speaking and it showed it was filled by CVS on 10/7/23. (even though I didnt request the fill and had disabled the autofill.) Then I checked my texts and saw I received a text on 10/7 that my med was ready for pick up and made the pharmacy tech aware.

Then this tech rudely said "I dont know what to tell you, there's no prescription filled". So i asked him what can be done/I needed help with this, since I needed my medication.

And he told me he was busy and asked if theres was anything else.

So I asked for his name and he just replied "OK" and never provided me his name or identified himself.

Then I told him I was having a problem transferring another prescription that I requested online several times. And again asked for his name, which he kept replying "OK" or "YES" and never gave me his name/refused to identify himself.

I needed his name, so I could provide it to my new pharmacy, since they were willing to call CVS and help troubleshoot the issue.

So I called the store a few minutes later and spoke with a lovely CVS manager and explained the above to him. And also asked him for this pharmacy techs name, which he couldnt provide me. And stated that he wasnt sure who it was because there are several pharmacy techs working today.

I have never had anyone refuse to give me their name or identify themself, especially as a licensed professional, that is supposed to help with peoples medical needs.

As a customer I will never again use CVS.

As a prescriber I will not recommend CVS pharmacy services.

And If this person is a registered pharmacy tech, he holds a professional license governed by NYSED. And as a licensed professional (like myself) we are required to wear an ID or identify yourself when asked.

And failure/refusal to do so is considered unprofessional conduct -see op.nysed.gov-laws, rules and regulations.

Desired outcome: Id like this pharmacy tech to be identified & educated on the need to provide his name when asked. Educated on NYS rules & regulations governing his license. And make the pharmacist that hes working under aware of his refusal to ID himself.
