Actually, I use Great Value products on a regular basis, but with two caveats: 1) I NEVER use generic dairy products (which is almost all of what you said you have tried) and 2) I never expect name-brand quality or performance from generic products.

You seem to have gone into these purchases without the correct mindset. While generic products can sometimes be a good way to save money, you never consider them an equal replacement for the real thing - that way you aren't disappointed when they don't perform well, but you are pleasantly surprised when they do.

With that said, however, I have used many Great Value products in the past and continue to do so now that I have been happy with including, but not limited to, cereal, kool-aid, uncooked pasta noodles, etc. I have also used Great Value products that I have been very unhappy with including, but not limited to, paper towels, paper plates, some canned vegetables, etc.

It is definitely a trial-and-error process with generic products and you have to be willing to put the time and effort into finding which ones will work for you and which ones won't. Otherwise, just purchase name-brand.

I hope your experiences get better!

I shop quite often at this Walmart store and everytime my daughter is with me she has to go to the bathroom.I am grossed out before I even get in there. They are stinky, OLD, just plain disgusting. For the amount of money Walmart makes you would expect more updated products. It is just terrible to allow anyone in this type of premises this day and age.

I went on maturnity leave a week before I had my baby. She was born on May 6. I called the store manager 6 weeks after she was born and said I could return back to work. He told me I would have to wait till they could put me on the schedule, he said call back in a week. Now, I call back and he says that it could possibly be after July 24. Is there some kind of law that would make them take me back before then. I have bills to pay. Please respond

The process needed to activate a Walmart prepay card is painful. Regardless of trying to activate it online or via phone is a long, long painful process. If I'm ever given one of these cards again as a gift...trust me, I give it back and say, "Thanks for the thought - you keep the card." The agravation is just not worth it!

The outgoing door person wanted to see my receipt because the facial tissue i had wasn't in a bag.
This basically is acusing me of shoplifting. this all my sound trivial but to me it isn't. I could understand it if it was something large like a TV but to stop me and force me to produce a receipt insults me intelligence

I was handed my package and I noticed that it was wet, but did not know it would be in the shape it was on the inside. My pictures were wet and the envelopes were ruined. I have given some pictures away with great embarrassment. This was supposed to be Christmas gifts. Wen the man brought my package to the door, it was not raining but had all day unill about two hours before he arrived. Elizabeth Gainey

I waited in the paint department forever then i waited in the electronics and i waited and waited forever and then they had sent somebody over to the paint department that was from another department and i just had to keep waiting and waiting and nobody would assist me in anyway. I was very respectful to them and waited for assistance and the employees were very disrespectful towards me.

I bought a dvd burner for my husband for his birthday. I took it home and wrapped it when he opened it up it looked like someone had beat it with a baseball bat. When I took it back the very next day with receipt in hand the manager and associate argued with me for over thirty minutes as if I had done it and brought it back to exchange.

I just purchased a bag of Great Value pistachios that I wasnt happy about.. I knew that buying the store brand would probably mean a deduction in quality but not quantity. My 12oz bag contained three quaters of empty shells. As I was eating them and noticing the emplty shell I thought that maybe the nuts had fallen out the shells during shipping and that the bottom of the bag would be filled with the missing nuts. Let me tell you that was not the case because I found only a few nuts without the shells a the bottom. The question I have is how much of the 12oz weight did the empty shells account for? Feeling cheated !

Some GV products are alright, but GV milk is awful! I got a gallon of 2%, which is what I normally drink, and it had a thin texture like water with a less sweet taste, like it wasn't fresh.

I just opened a can of Great Value peach slices in heavy syrup this morning. I had been buying this brand occasionally and most times it was OK. The juice in this can was dark in color and didn't look at all appetizing Very questionable to my way of thinking. I took a tiny taste of it, and it is horrible. Tastes sour! Very BAD ! Should be clear and sweet. This is something that would make me sick I am sure. Big waste of $1.72 if you ask me. From now on I will pay a little more for a brand name that I know has high quality. Where am I getting a Great Value or saving money when I have to throw food away? That doesn't compute! In response to some of the previous posts though, I have never had a problem with Great Value whole milk from the dairy case. Perhaps I have been fortunate so far. Never purchase their bottled water either. I know people who have well water and I just stock up on water when I am visiting them.

I use Great Value products on a regular basis, they are great bargain items, but i have to complain on the Great Value water bottle it has change it taste as tap water or something they took out of a water well not filter

in the last three week i had to change water bottle from Great Value to Aquafina. Just because here in Franklin, NC.28734 they did not had any answer for me on this awful taste of water some day i might just go and have this water tested for bacterias see if Walmart would take a look of what is been pour in this water bottles with Great Value labels

till know i would Stay with Aquafina or Dasani water bottle

please take the time to read this message and get the issue resolve before some one get sick of drinking this water

I totally agree with everyone on Walmart's so called "Great Value". Walmart boast of Great Quality, Great Price, Guaranteed. I recently purchased the great value Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwiches. They are awful! The chocolate wafer was like eating cardboard and just as hard. The vanilla ice cream had no flavor at all. I guess it is true what they said you get what you pay for. I will never purchase the Great Value's at Walmart again. These are of no real value and taste even worst. There is nothing of any great quality or price with this product. It a real waste of money and of my time.

I hadn't bought milk in while, but I got a new kitten. So I recently purchased a half gallon of Walmart milk whole milk. Something struck me weird when I poured myself a glass but I never guessed it would taste totally like water when I tried it. I am still in shock that this milk tastes like water and sought out this site to see if I was imagining things. Not sure what I should do, but I'm not drinking it. Might ask my neighbor to confirm my suspicions. Wonder if they will take it back.

Great Value? I don't think so...food supply in this country has been hijacked by industry for the sake of the almighty $! I know your fruit is genetically modified so it will have a longer shelf life; be more resistant to pesticides in the field/farm/on the vine or tree even corn is now capable of making its own pesticides! I know it sounds like something from a science fiction movie and I am not going to waste my limited energy trying to convince you; I AM going to use what little strength I have left trying to undo what complacency and deregulation has done to me. FIND OUT FOR YOURSELF! Wake up America, it's big industry who makes us crave junk; it is not your fault and has nothing to do with your lack of willpower! It is them who is making us fat and overfed and undernourished and SICK! GREAT VALUE indeed!...

Walmart milk always has tasted watered down to me... my guess is that they put the bare minimum amount of "milkfat" and max allowable amount of water. Whole milk tastes like 2%, 2% like skim, never tried anything less but it's probably "skimmier" than skim.

Walmart is always eager to let us know the product is distributed by Walmart but we never know what foreign country it is from or what contents are in the product, especially food pproducts. Walmart, tell us where and what company it's from.

I was attempting to use 10 legitimate manufacturer coupons that all had all the clarifying info that the coupon policy on Walmart.com and posted in store states that is necessary to have them accept the coupon. I was told by the checker that Walmart does not accept MANUFACTURERS coupons. I asked for her manager and then she proceeded to call me crazy and said I was wasting my time and hers. She got her manager which she referred to as her "CSM" and that woman then took a 1 second glance at the coupon and said it would not be accepted because the expiration date is TO FAR AWAY, 3/31/2012 to be exact. She "explained" to me that coupons are only accepted within 60 days of expiry. This is a flat out LIE, this woman who supposedly had worked for Walmart for 15+ years and is supervising other employees doesn't even know the simplest info even when it was printed on a laminated piece of paper posted right next to her face! I asked for someone else to help me, I was then told that no one else would waste their time with this and I could either pay full price for the items or leave immediately. I REFUSED they then threatened to have the police remove me from the store and took my cart full of groceries and my personal belongings from me and took it to the customer service area when FINALLY a man who I believe was of higher authority than the CSM woman came over with 4 more store employees following him and asked to see the coupon, immediately he said yes of course we accept MANUFACTURERS coupons and instructed the cashier to continue with the transaction. This in total was a 45 minute ordeal and I feel if these employees cared about the job they are doing or if they were trained correctly that this could have been obviously avoided. I was treated like a criminal, a liar and embarrassed in front of my family and other customers, WHY? Why was any of this necessary? Is it illegal to try and save my family money? Even shoplifters are treated with more respect than I was shown. Does Walmart support such behavior? Will I be treated like this in the future?

Have four markets locally, Albertsons, Food Basket, Snappy Mart, and Walmart at which we buy milk.. Whole and 2%. Walmart milks seem to be watered down.
Did a four store milk test, Albertsons, Food Basket and Snappy Mart milk products had a taste to them; Walmart tasted like bottled water with white coloring.
Are we the only folks who have noticed this?
Another thing, the pull tab seal that Walmart uses on the containers are very difficult for seniors to remove.
