Walmart terrible place

A year ago I had my eyes checked at your Rice Lake, Wisconsin store. I got my glasses and had them adjusted and went home. I gave the prescription a couple of days. I called the store and told them I didn't think the prescription was right. They said to come in and they would try to readjust them again. I called them back a few days later and told them that the glasses were not the right strength. I told them that I have worn glasses since I was 9 years old and something was not right. All I got was a run around. They said the prescription was right. I said how you know if you don't re-test my eyes again. They said I would have to pay to have them re-tested again. I said why do I have to pay if the glasses aren't right? They said that how it is. Well I gave up for awhile and called again and got the same run around. I was furious. I gave up. Then called again a month or so later. I didn't get anywhere at all. I just let it go. Well today I went and had my eyes check because I couldn't stand them any longer. It got to the point I could not read what was on T.V. I had to take them off to read a book. It was hard to see the computer monitor with the normal part of the glasses. I would have to use the bi-focal part to see the monitor. Everything was getting a little blurry. Well the doctor said he knew what was wrong with just having the refractor done. He said the strength was too strong. When he lessened the strength I could see so much better. He showed me the difference after he tested them. The only change was I needed was tri-focal and less strength. We trusted Wal-mart and shop there for years and years. I am very annoyed and I'm re-thinking about shopping at Wal-mart.

I had been given a written 'coaching' for something that had nothing to do with why I was terminated. The written occurred on 28 Oct 2008. Then on 20 Nov 2008, I was called to the management office where I was met by two Assistant Managers. One informed me that I was being terminated for not taking a break on 11-10 & 11-14, and that I had taken personal items to the area that I worked in.

I seldomly missed taking a break and sometimes when I did I did so in my assigned area. Even though I told the Assistant Managers that I did take a break, when I used the facilities, got a drink, took medications or sat in the area without doing work. Then I was informed on 11-20 that I had to be out of the area for 15 minutes, that I could not take breaks in the area.

Additionally I told them why I was carrying my personal bag, but one retorted '...you're not suppose to have any personal items. You were seen eating Yogurt (I don't eat yogurt), drinking and getting spray from your bag.' I again explained, what I had done and yes I did have snacks but not yogurt and I did get spray from my bag. The spray was Fabreze, I had been using it ever since I was there as a matter of fact the day associate had been using Oust in the area which I can't handle with my asthma. She said Fabreze would be fine. I retrieved the bottle from my bag because the one we had in the area was empty. I sprayed it and exchanged it for the empty bottle.

The store's Loss Protection individual made copies from the security films, which were dated and timed, showing me performing my assigned responsibilities in my work area. It also showed that I had taken my 'personal' bag, which had my various medications, snacks and a small bottle of room spray.

I had taken my personal bag with me since an episode in the break room in October that made me feel insecure with leaving my stuff in there and the fact that I had multiple medications, some which were used in a nebulizing machine that was also in this area.

On multiple occasions, various Assistant Managers as well as the Store Manager, Co-Manager and other individuals witnessed me taking my personal bag to my work area. None of these individuals questioned why. None said...'don't do that.' I must add that there are no CBL's or specific written guidelines for this area. Its a judgment call as far as I am concerned. Especially since others in this area had since I've been assigned there doing what I had done.

In the time that I was in the area I and others assigned there had been taking breaks in the area, using spray and eating snacks. But that wasn't the way it was suppose to be...according to the Assistant Manager on the 20th. I had done what the others had been doing but I am the only one fired.

Yes it is true that I had a written for something that had nothing to do with the reason listed on the termination sheet. But I feel that the WM corporate office was pissed off because: 1) they had to pay overtime because the local managers failed to enter 8 hours on my work week in the appropriate week 1 of the schedule, thus making week 2 go into overtime; 2) that ever since I had been in that area I had clocked out when my work was done, sometimes 15 minutes early--no one said I could not do this and it did not become an issue until after the 28 Oct 2008 written was issue; 3) that corporate wanted to separate me because of the Oct incident but they had to tred lightly and were thus 'gunning' for me.

I must note that after the Assistant Manager terminated me, she told me to make sure I re-apply in 6 months. Now I find out WM is fighting my unemployment claim.

I have been a shopper at Wal-Mart probably since they have opened up here in Houston. There used to be a time when you wanted to check out it did not take 45 minutes. The store here in Houston, at Almeda, has got to be the worst on here in Houston. I went in today and they only had 2 (yes 2) check out lanes and 1 self checkout line open. Needless to say they had at least 7 peaple in each of them. I went to buy some cigerates and she asked me for my ID, I am 55 years old, and (I wish I did), but I do not look 25 or less. She would not sell them to me until I went to my car & got my ID. Them she would only ring up 1 pack at a time instead of all 3 packs, and I had to pay for each one individually. I will not shop at that store again. I hope for the other peaple that shop there it gets better. I will waste some of the precise gas and go the 2 extra miles to one of the other stores.

First of all, the opticians, NOT the doctors, generally order trial pairs of contact lenses. The real purpose of trial contact lenses are for the doctor to give to the patient at the time of the eye exam for the patient to try. All of the doctors that are in Wal-Mart Vision Centers are independent, licensed, fully insured doctors of optometry (OD), and DO NOT WORK FOR WAL-MART! (Depending on the state the vision center is located, and the laws in effect for that state). After the patient returns for their follow-up (if needed), which is also complimentary, within a reasonable amount of time, it is the patients responsibility to purchase their boxes of contact lenses. Second, trial contacts are FREE. Granted, you may have to wait if the trial contacts are not stocked by the store, but they are complimentary. It is NOT up to the opticians or the eye doctor to give out OR order free trials to patients once the contact lens rx has been finalized because people fail to purchase their contact lenses.

walmart vision center eye doctors are a bunch of quacks! they cant even order trial pairs on contacts like normal dr office...you may have to wait longer and paid a tad more at a real eye doctor but its so worth it if they actually know what the hell they are doing!

Walmart is notorious for coaching people for not knowing that they have been doing something wrong, even though supervisors never made the duties clear to them in the first place, or in some cases, gave them wrong information entirely. They also will not give you any feedback on a daily basis to let you know if you've made a mistake or aren't working fast enough, etc. They will tell you a week or 2 later when they are giving you the verbal or written coaching, thus making sure you are unable to fix the problem before being reprimanded for it. They will ALWAYS take the supervisor's word for things over yours even if they are in the wrong. If you explain health issues to them, they will act like they understand and will say they are willing to work with you to help you keep your job, but will turn around and use those very issues against you first chance they get. I was just fired 3 days ago due to my health problems, and was told I was rehirable in 31 days. (I can have a part-time job, they say.) Yeah, that will pay the bills. In short, no matter how hard you work, no matter how few mistakes you make, it will never be fast enough, hard enough or perfect enough for Walmart.

I feel for you. I really do! I was terminated, separated, let go, fired, back in December 08. I was a meal exception, too many times! Yea, I know. I should have been watching the clock . But you see, that's not me. I cannot leave things undone. I tried to perfect too much. I was a hell of an employee. As I am sure most of us are. When I first started there, someone once said to me, "why are you working so hard? Nobody will notice you." I was not even "working" that hard. Its my nature...hence...my email address. Then I realized, the home office doesn't give a crap what you do. Even some of the assistant mgrs. and Co mgrs. don't really care either. Just as long as you are not making "them" look bad! Maybe I wasn't meant to be there in the first place. "They" contested my UI, 30 days, exactly, after I applied. Christmas was well, non existent. Finally, two months later I recieved UI. Now, just a few days ago, I get a letter stating "Please be advised that the Commissioner has withdrawn the determination...blah, blah, blah. I called the UI office...Walmart is contesting again. I have been taking my dog, sick with cancer, to the vet. I have a huge bill due. How am I going to pay for that? This "Satan" from Arkansas is disgusting! The way the employee's are treated is so damn disrespectful! We may as well all be cattle. If I could stop people from shopping there, I would. After all, 99% of the time I am looking for something, it's not there! I don't know what else to say other than Walmart... If Sam Walton were alive, this kind of crap would not happen. This is NOT what he wanted! Walmart...you suck!

My local Wal-Mart is selling a grill for $19.74 only when the item is scanned at the check-out, it comes up $25. The box is marked $19.74 in large print on all four sides. The cashier was unsure of how to handle the situation and asked two co-workers for advice. She was instructed to change the price to the $19.74 given on the package. I later checked the...

Walmart selling books to children with horrible content

I went to your store today. I notice that in the back to school section you were selling Harry Potter books. I honestly thought a family friend store would not be selling these books. These books consist of satanic rituals and is written by a witch. These books have been banned by many churches and religious schools and libraries.

Please ban Harry Potter from your stores or I will no longer be shopping there.

Your pen-name is 'stop the madness', yet you have the sheer cheek to insult Walmart, one of the most famous chains in the USA, and Harry Potter. WHICH IS THE MOST SUCCESSFUL MEDIA FRANCHISE OF ALL FREAKING TIME! For pity's sake, get your act together, no one small minded, bigoted, prejudging idiot should be allowed to waste space on the web, complaining about the best literature since J.R.R. Tolkien. Harry Potter not once in 7 books and 8 films, promotes any type of Dark Magic, Satanic rituals or divine incantational magic. It is set out as pure and simple magic, bound by the Laws of Physics and perfectly provable by a few short thought experiments. If you are going to insult, slag-off, discriminate or attack anything ever again, please make sure you have your fricking facts right.

P.S.

Wal-mart is a money friendly store, they don't care about religion or race. The only color they care about is green. Please, Harry Potter written by a witch? That's just ignorant. Please go out and educate yourself a bit or if nothing else at least give your children the benefit of reading other types of fiction, not just the bible.

Walmart job interview

A few months ago I went for a job interview at this walmart. I was interviewed by more than one person. This last woman told me that she was not getting a warm and fuzzy feeling from me.
I was there to get a job not kiss her on the lips for cripes sake! I have seen the employees at this store, and they are not friendly at all. I feel like I was unjustly treated. I really needed a job and still do. Maybe its because I am 60 yrs old or maybe she didn"t like me but it was just unfair to be treated like that.

I couldnt get new spools, and the weedeater wont charge only used it a month and a half, in a small area, once aweek by an old lady. So walmart should be giving refunds or replace the weed eater, other wise they are not standing behind their merchanise, and dont care about their coustmer. If you have the receipt for the weedeater, Walmart wil probabably refund your money. The return policy on that item I believe is 90 days, unless it is posted somewhere. I have seen a pair of rose clippers (VERY BIG ONES) returned after the season and it was still within the return date and a refund was given. I have also seen used garbage cans returned.

Walmart won't fix under warranty

Bought a GPS with an ext warranty at Walmart and with less than 2 months left on the extended warranty it stopped working. First only half the screen was visible then the next day the entire screen was black with a redline at the bottom.

Mailed to company and it was returned "LED screen broken" unrepairable" "return to customer unrepaired".

I called and they said it had been dropped. It HAD NOT and told them that it hadn't been dropped and there was no crack on the screen. They said the crack was internal. How convenient. They find something wrong with an item that only they can see. Could it be they decided with only 2 months left 'why bother'? Sick of Walmart. Sam Walton would turn over in his grave with their deplorable customer service lately.

Now it's my word against theirs and since they can fix it or not - it won't be fixed. They received ext warranty $ with NO service.

I will never buy anything electronic at Walmart again! Getting close to not shopping there at all. Less of a headache shopping at other stores, not worth the small savings shopping at walmart anymore.

Walmart tomato blight

Walmart, Lowe's, and Home Depo can not be bothered to check the quality of the cheap plants they offer. As a result tomato blight has taken over the North East US. I personally lost more than $50.00 of high quality Burpee plants that had been thriving. And of course because I knew better than to buy from these retailers I am out the money, the hard work, and the joy that growing your own food provides. When you're paying $3.00 apiece for gassed, flavorless, mealy, slave labor harvested tomatoes you know who to thank.

I used to work in the garden dept at Walmart and I did reject and send away two shipments of bug infested plants. I was new to the job and wanted to do a good job. I was talked to by managment and was told to just recieve the shipment no matter how bad the plants were. You get what you pay for. I shop at Walmart as a last resort when I can not find the item any other store. In our town Walmart got a 10 year subsidy to pay no property taxes. Corporate thugs who are willing to take any subsidy that they can get for more profits. Capitalism at its best. Boooyahhhhhhhhhhhh. Corporate welfare just gotta love it.

I hardly think the blight is due to these stores. Tomato blights strike sometimes every 3rd year, regardless of where the plants or seeds come from. That's about the dumbest thing I've heard in a long time. A lot of time blight is caused by too wet weather or too cool weather, or both, among other things.

Even perfectly healthy plants can develop blight when conditions are right.

Walmart terrible experience

She dragged my brand new clothes across the filthy conveyor belt, leaving skid marks even i asked her to pull them from the little carry basket. She says "Company policy" and continues to dirty up the new summer clothes. #2 Loose a validation ticket at Long Beach Wal*Mart and pay $8.00 even if you have a recipt showing your recent purchase. Even if you shop there all the time. If you don't have $8.00 in CASH You get to hold up traffic and let the parking attendant write down all your personal data, so you can get a check or money order via snail mail with 42 cent postage to the City of Long Beach. I'm done with Walmart. I'm getting a COSTCO card and shopping in Signal Hill!

Walmart coupon offers and regulations

I am very upset with the sales people at this walmart studio. My neighbor and I went to the studio together since I don't drive...her name is Hilda Morgan (not her real name ), she had her daughters pictures done and I had my grandson's taken, both children were riding in the same shopping cart and because we went there together only one of us could use a coupon. This is just wrong she should receive some of her money back or a complimentary portrait package because of the economy being what it is and due to me not being able to drive we often go places together and this is just NOT fair ...I could understand if we were related (1 coupon per family or something like that) but that does not even apply to this situation. If I went there on public transportation (bus )would I NOT be able to use a coupon because someone else on the bus did ? If you do not make this right I will be going to a portrait studio other than Walmart from now on and I have been using Walmart studio now for almost 13 years.

Yesterday July 28, 2009 I went to this Wal-Mart in Edinburg, TX to change car battery. I arrived there on 8:40 AM and I shopped over there. I went back to the automobile part to ask to finish changing battery on 9:35 AM, they still was working. I continued shopping until 10:00 AM. I asked again, but they want me to come back 10 to 15 minutes. I went there...

Walmart bad customer service

My mother likes to shop. She likes to shop way too much and upon helping her clean her house recently I found eleven DVD's from Walmart (still in their original wrapping WITH the walmart stickers on them) that she had purchased and either had duplicates of or didn't really want. I tried to return the DVD's to Walmart. I didn't have a reciept and I have no idea if the items were purchased within the last 90 days or not so I can totally respect them not accepting the return. It was the way I was treated that really upset me. When I first went up to the customer service counter to make my return. The woman behind the counter looked at me and then with out speaking to me turned around and got on the phone to the electronics department and "wispered" in to the reciever to have someone come up and look at the DVD's to see if they were stolen! The lady from electronics arrived and "inspected" each DVD. You would have thought she was looking for a bomb, she might as well have got out her magnifying glass. Then the lady from electronics leaves and the women behind the counter says that they have to call over a manager. The manager arrives and tells me that they can't accept the return becuase I have no reciept and the items are too old, they don't carry them anymore. Yea Right! So I had to stand around and wait 15 min while the DVD's were inspected and I was being accused of stealing them, but oh, NOW the DVD's are too old and the store dosen't carry them anymore so I cant return them!

Walmart refund

I purchased a visa walmart card recently but i haven't activated it or even used it. Rather i did some research and found out this card sucks *** ! i was wondering since i pressed like this button that sent me to a refund thing, would i still get charged that monthly fee even if it was not activated as well as having no information of me? So like technically i just bought the card and let's say it's still got that glue stuck to it. would i still be charged?

I used to work for WalMart as a manager. If you never activated the card, they will not charge you a fee. BUT the store that you purchased the card from technically cannot give you the refund, only the Green Dot Company( this is the store policy). The plus side is that if you go to the WalMart you purchased the card from and you complain to the top manager and explain that you thought it was a GIFTCARD instead of aPREPAID VISA CARD, and you throw a major fit, and tell them you spend a lot of money in their store and you demand a in-store refund. They most likely will give you the refund there just to get rid of you. Believe me, I had to do it ALOT!

I love you NonnieMouse!

I have no idea what you're talking about.

And the prepaid card is not a credit card, it's a gift card. You mis-categorized.

Walmart cd

I had purchased a CD at Walmart Dept. on [protected]. It was a bad CD. I took the CD back to Walmart customers service [protected]. There was one customer in front of me. I had to wait over 30 min.The customer service lady told me to go back to electronics & see if they have another one. I told her that when I purchased it on 7-15, that was the only one I saw. To please the service lady, I went back to check. Their was not anymore like the one I had. I found another one that I liked, it was higher in price. So I returned to customer service, by now they were 5 customers in line. I waited until she finished with customer she was helping. I stepped up & handed the lady the CD that I picked out. Then 2 customers yelled out that I broke in line. I proceeded to tell them I had already waited my time in line. They told me that I had to return to the back of the line. I said I don't think so. Then the customer service told me that if they didn't have the same CD that I purchased. Then they would have to give me a voucher, when it came in I would have to return & pick it up. I told to her to return my money. She said she couldn't do that. It was against the Walmart's policy. She should have told me that up front. She saw how up set I was. She let me pay the difference in the prices. It took me over 1hr. 30min. to exchange a single CD. I have tried to call the manger on 7-21-09, held the ph. over 10 min. No manager. Called again on 7-22-09, he was doing a tour. They took my name & ph. no. Still no return. This was one of the most horrifying exeriences I've had at retail store. It has been yrs since I have returned anything. I didn't know things were this bad. Thanks for reading my complaint

Yes I agree WalMart does suck..I used to be a Manager. Although there is no excuse for you waiting that long to change a cd, the associate was correct in telling you she couldnt exchange the cd for a different one. Its not just a WalMart policy, it's actually a Federal Copyright Policy. Also some WalMarts are really cracking down on their refund policy due to the amount of theft. Even though you cant really do anything once you open a cd, dvd, computer game etc, you can save yourself a little headache and try to hang on to the receipts. Hope this helps!

Walmart defamation

7/21/2009 9:56:32 PM

To Whom It May Concern:

We got to Wal-Mart store at 27th St store # 2828, and my daughter Zuleiry Robles bought some piercings at the jewelry department and opened it at the store, then she gave me one and I put it on my pocket.
In our way out of the store at 7:44 pm we were stopped by 3 security in front of everyone embarrassing us and taken to a security room, they told us to sit down and give them the merchandise that we didn’t pay for and we tell them what he was talking about that the only merchandise we had it was the piercings and the receipts were there with them. They told us “you know what we are talking about”. And they didn’t stop there they search my daughter and her purse they didn’t find nothing. Then I told them you better find something to excuse the embarrassment you put us thru or else I will suit you. Also they took my daughter’s boyfriend Eduardo Molina to pressure him to say that my daughter had steal something from the store, and that he needed to tell the truth and he told him that the truth is she didn’t take nothing.
After about one hour 8:20 pm they apologized to us because we were right and we didn’t steal anything. I told the I didn’t accept apologies and I wanted to talk to a manager or someone for defamation. The assistant manager named Nathan refused to give me his last name and the name of the security guards.
He was rude towards me and him also refuse to give me any writing report of the incident, he told me to call 1-800-walmart which I did right away and talk to William, I put a complaint at 8:22 pm 7/21/09. Also went to the police station number 6 and put a complaint about it. Accusing someone of stealing without proof is a crime, defamation and also we felt discriminated by them.

I don't see these tales about any other store except Wal-mart.

Wal-Mart appears to be wasting a lot of time with vigilante security and setting itself up for liability.

Walmart stupid workers

I wanted to check the price of a very large princess castle. The box was about 4 feet high. I saw 2 workers making themselves look busy and asked if they could check the price on the toy for me. They told me to use the price checker machine across the hall in the pet aisle. I dragged the box to the price checker and found that it wasn't working. I dragged the box back and told the workers about the default and asked them again to check the price for me. They told me to just take it down to the check out aisles and then the 2 workers went off. I saw another worker in the pet aisle across from me and asked him to check the price for me. As he was helping me one of the 2 original workers reappeared. The helping guy lectured the idiot worker because idiot worker didn't even have a price checker on him.

Then after I paid for this massive castle. I had it in a shopping cart and was clearly leaving the express aisles. This "wal-mart greeter" stopped me before the doors and wanted proof of purchase. HOw stupid can you be.

COSTCO has it in their club agreement that when you shop at their store, you agree to ticket checking.

Wal-Mart is not a club, like Sam's. I will do anything to avoid the ticket checker.

Since Wal-Mart does not ticket check everybody, lots of people like me, just sail by, Wal-Mart has a discrimination case waiting to happen here.

I'm honest, but no one else cheap around here does that, like Big Lots, etc.

No one seems to cmplain about their purchases being checked at Costco. They expect it. I don't see the big deal. It took all of, what, 2-3 seconds? I always leave my receipt out until I leave the store, just in case. It is NOT a personal attack against you, for crying out loud!

While the associates were rather rude, I wouldn't be complaining about the door greeter. They seem to be the only one doing what they're being paid to do. It's a rather standard policy that anything not in a bag needs to be checked against a receipt. Since you'd just checked out, it shouldn't have been a problem for you.

under paid and under appreciated. You will only find a few retail worker who really put an effort into there job. Retail has such a high turn over rate. If you go in the store 30 days from now those same employees will no longer work for the company.

Walmart thieves

Well, I guess it was my last trip to walmart, and the reason for it is that I never come out of that store happy, someone manages to tick me off. That friendly welcome has been gone and now they even check your back too, like you are a theif! Never mind the cashiers, as they are mad at you for not giving them, their retirement packages! Inside the store, either you can not find anyone to help you and if you find one person, then the answer is over there/this must be the last one, since it is not on the shelf!

Today I asked the cashier, if I need to bring the dirt package here to pay or I can pay for it and then go get it? Well it it was the most stupidest question for her, as she wanted to know what kind of dirt it is, as if it is the sand or the garden soil? As she knew there were so many different kind of dirt for the price of $1.37. After telling her never mind, she just kept repeating. I was mad they way she kept telling me, and as I was leaving, she tells other cashier, that she just said have a nice day. I should talk about the other cashier that he is sitting on the side, and we were in line! I really did not have time to go back and see the manager for their rude behavior. Anyhow life goes on with or without walmart.

Yes, they usually wanna know what kind. I don't figure I can walk into any store and go, "how much is your pop" and they are just gonna quote me a price. They have to know what kind...geez, was the lady supposed to be psychic?

Sounds like you're at fault to me. She wanted to know what kind you wanted so she could ring you up. Why didn't you just tell her what kind?

Sounds like in order to answer you question which is can I just pay or do i bring it up, she needs to know if you know what kind. Which you wouldnt answer. You didnt need a manager, you needed a brain.
