I would prefer to give them ZERO stars, but one is the lowest I can give. I was in an accident in the beginning of December 2025. I put in a claim through my USAA insurance that same night and they have been nothing but a hassle. Getting ahold of my assigned claims adjusters is near impossible. I've called multiple times with no answer. When I leave voicemails, they're not returned. And if by the off chance I do get a return call, it's not in a timely manner. One of the adjusters told me "I have a heavy case load, so I have a lot to do." I'm sorry, but that is not the customer's fault. I shouldn't be receiving terrible customer service and waiting for days and days to hear any updates on my claims because they have a heavy caseload. I was finally issued my payout for the total loss of my vehicle, and I couldn't even cash it. I had told everyone I spoke with from USAA that my husband was on orders in Japan and wouldn't be able to sign anything. They still wrote the check out to me AND my husband instead of me OR my husband (The way all of our vehicle documents are written out). So my bank and the check issuer bank would not cash or deposit the check. It's now been over a month since the accident, over a month that I've been out of pocket for a rental car and still nothing being done about my total loss car. I am beyond dissatisfied with the treatment I have received. So frustrated with this whole process. I will never trust USAA again and I will be sure no one that I love or care about ever does either. Til this day, over a month later, the claims adjuster never answers when I call. I have to push 0 over and over to speak to an actual person when I call the regular customer service number. It's nothing but a headache and a waste of time. DO NOT EVER GIVE USAA YOUR BUSINESS. YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED.
Recommendation: GET A DIFFERENT INSURANCE ENTIRELY.
