I went to purchase a handbag for my daughters 16th birthday. Knowing that if she did not like it we could go back and exchange the handbag. While I was there I found another handbag with no price on it, I brought it to the customers service desk to ask about pricing. The bag had a recipe in it along with a couple coins, gum rapper and a coin purse. The...

T.J. Maxx rude service

I was just in TJ MAXX on Reisterstown Road in Owings Mills, Maryland to purchase several items. I asked a lady to help me with a pair of shoes for the price, her name as Sandy, she was so rude that I almost walked out. she was slamming shoes on the counter and said tell the cashier that I said to use $24.99...My friend and I were both taken back by this lack of customer service. My receipt # [protected]. I did purchase the shoes but I will think long and hard before I go back to TJMAXX again...

T.J. Maxx poor customer servive

TJ Maxx in Woburn MA has a terrible customer service. I have been through serious illness (cancer) and treatments and was unable to wait for a long waiting line in the check out area, and this store offered no place to sit in the area. So I asked for help. The manager Rick refused to help me for a speedy checkout. Then I waited in a shorter return waiting line and when I was called I told the cashier that I was unable to stand that if she could help me check out. She also said no to me. I ended up buying nothing. I drove all the way to buy one item (I only had enough energy to shop for one item) in the TJ Maxx store. All I received was inhumane treatment! I was sad and outraged. This incident happened on 8/24/09 early afternoon.

Asking for a place to sit while you are ill is not asking for special treatment. They have shopping carts that are wheel chairs now with baskets attached plus as management it is the responsibility of manangement to make every customer service experience enjoyable. Saveyshopper... I am sure you would have a different opinion if it had been your mother, sister or daughter in this situation. You would have wanted someone to help or perhaps made the effort to help your family member yourself.

Oh please... people should stop expecting special treatment! It is not the world's responsibility cater to your every need. Everyone demands "fair treatment" until it involves them... then they want special treatment! Get over it!

Im sorry for your illness but why not prepare and have someone go with you that could have helped, perhaps take a wheel chair with you. I know cancer is the hardest thing on the body and even harder on the spirit and people forget that. You are far from an idiot so ignore savey shopper but people have very little manners these days and dont go out of there way to help people anymore for the most part. Its a sad thing.

Normally the employees can check you out but it usually depends on the managers answer. But I would've checked you out...I sometimes do it at the jewelery counter when the person has like 1 or 2 items. I know I'm not suppose to but sometimes I feel horrible that customers have to go through that kind of treatment.

T.J. Maxx service

my husband, my son and i walked to the front door of the store . as i lifted my arm to open the door a woman rushed to the door and started to lock the very top of the door. the three of us were frozen with disbelief. because of the look on our faces she cracks the door for an awkward moment waiting for my response to her locking the door in our faces at 7:50 . i ask "are you guys closed ". she say"yes". what time do you close. 8:00. it's not 8:00. we always close 5 minutes before.after all that its still not even 7:55. i looked at my sprint phone it's 7:53. after i looked at my phone she says "is there a certain thing you wanted to get very quickly". no, i wanted to look. i was shocked and speechless so she just shut the door and locked it. when i finally came to my sences and i called the store to get her name she mumbled it . i let her know that i didn't hear her clearly, she hung up in my face. i called right back, it rung for a while then someone picked up and hung up. wow i am still puzzled!

T.J. Maxx bad employer

I have been a TJ Maxx customer for several years and also a Customer Service Manager at a retail store. Today i was shopping and as i was looking for a pants for my husband one of the employee's came by doing the reshop, and she found a pair pants at the floor ( like every store ) she thought i let that follow and refuse to pick-up. But when i came by was all ready there. So i move on and she star calling me a " FAT LAZY" ... I turn back and i ask her if she was talking to me ? She said : " WHATEVER". After that she follow me my whole shopping. I end up bying nothing. I feel very umcomfortoble. Her name is Martha and i just want ask if that's the way the company treat the customers ? In my store 90% of our costomers have the rights and if one of the employees treat one of a customer like that will end up losing their jobs.

I work at a combo store, Marshalls and home goods. I actually enjoy it most weeks. There are stressful times but i have great managers. I would argue i should be paid more, but it's still considered a low level job, so i can't complain too much. I do work my [censored] off and do my best, rarely getting yelled at for anything. Actually my manager is pretty good at working things out without yelling. I am grateful for my job.
I also get sick easily and it's a 1 day thing usually, so the hours worked going towards hours sick works just fine for me. I usually have a good month between sick days and it's usually do to low iron anemia acting up on my period. My managers know this are are respectful of that. It also doesn't hurt that they always ask me if i can pick up another shift if i am out. They were also great about scheduling when I was in highschool. They always tried to keep me happy with whatever i was doing.

Her favorite subject is the learning disabled employees, she blames everything on the asst mgr yet he is the only one that tries to make it a good environment, Do Not work at the Frandor location . go to McDonalds bk taco bell scrub jail toilets anything! You will hate your life if you work there drugs are rampid with employees and mgrs so if you are a pill head it might work. But if you just want a honest job this is not it !

EMPLOYEE VERY RUDE !
I spoke to the manager Debbie about this.
12/20/2015 Morganton NC, I finished my shopping getting ready to check out. There was a lady with a cart looking at merchandise so proceeded to go around to get up to the register. About that time a rude voice said she is next giving me a mean look, this is a employee. After that the customers were looking I was so embarrassed. And she continue being rude. I am a 59 year old man well respected in my community been in business for 38 years. Employee like that make or break you! To beat it all she looked to be my age

I am an excellent employee, who has been told consistently by the coordinators that I work hard. Yet I get no recognition from management, they nit-pick about the tiniest things, and they gossip about the associates! I dread going to work every day because of the stress-level. Minimum-wage, no sick days, no vacation time, no benefits. "Free" lunch a few times a month. Even the discount is measly. I was paid a lot more to do a lot less at my old job. Oh, did I mention I'm getting fired for nothing?

I am a good employee and got a perfect score on my annual review in 2013
yet when i call in because i am sick i get told that well you miss work alot,
which i dont. I dont want to get a customer sick or cough on one that is unsanitary
Also we are expected to pick up womens feminine products used ones
I may add without gloves. We do not get paid enough for that. It is constantly
Cold during the winter in the fitting rooms and it took over a year
To get a ceiling tile fixed after talking to management mulitple times.
I do not appreciate being treated the way i am. I have been working there
For three years now and always do my job even after being harassed by
On of my managers to constantly do something somewhere besides where i am
Scheduled for and ignoring my doctors orders. No wonder no one stays at our store for long.

I worked at tjmaxx from may 2011- may 2012! I agree! A customer will ask my manager something, he will smile at her, help her and then turn around and be like " next time go look for it yourself" or a customer will be checking out, having a convo with the cashier, when the customer is leaving, the cashier would turn around and tell me, "Ughh, she talks too much, with her busted a** shoes" hmm poor customer service! I received 2 compliments online from customers who were pleased with my customer service, all the company did was, give me a water bottle! Wth! Those employers were so jealous of me bc I was always looking onpoint at work! And I don't sit n talk about customers with them! These same employees, would take a $100 MK dress and mark it down to $10 and then put it on hold for themselves and buy it afterwards! The ones working in layaway would steal stuff! Oneday, a customer begged me to put her stuff on layaway alongside with mines! Little did I know she had changed the prices of those bags! I put it, the day I had to take it out, they didn't find it! But the manager had taken it down n put in his office and called the company and told them I was a dishonest associate! Two agents from the company came n spoke to me, they said they found a jewelry price tag in my locker! They said I stole it bc I worked in the jewelry dept! I told them " NO" I bought those earrings when I was on break bc I had loss my studs! Unfortunately I put the price in my locker! They said they have it on camera, I begged them to show me for proof. They never did! The said, The purses( ) had wrong tags! I was scared to tell them that it was a customers bc they would say I have a customer my discount! They forced me to sign a paper, and said " all would be fine" I was signing my termination document, they asked me to do was leave! I did, and till this day I'm still looking for another job, and I'm still putting their company as reference! After all the things I did for them! Even though they still owe me for Some hours I was called to come work, but they never put it in my paycheck! That company is the worst company! Period!

I work at T.J. Maxx and absolutely, have ranged between throughly not liking the experience and absolutely hating it. I cannot recommend working there at all. They never stuck by the terms of what the job was supposed to entail as was stated in the interviewm, but instead evolved the job into something grossly different. I feel like it was misrepresentation. Moreover, the behavior I have seen in my experiences there has been both degrading and obnoxious for no apparent reason. Frankly I feel that certain managers on duty call themselves flexing their muscles but seem to do so just to get a kick out of it and just because they feel they can. Instead of senior management nipping behavior in the bud that deteriorates morale the allow it to continue and practically pat the offenders on the back. This is not the way to inspire your employees and build loyalty.

T.J. Maxx lost my ring in the jewelry counter

I was trying a bangle cuff at the jewelry counter, and I had to remove my ring from my finger because the bangle cuff won't fit and it's hitting my ring whenever I start to put it on ( it has to pass through my hands up to my wrist) . I am very positive that I removed it and put it on top of the glass counter. But, my son had to go to the bathroom and I had to leave right away.
While washing my hands in the bathroom, I notice that I forgot my ring . when I came back at that jewelry counter -nothing on top . I asked for the lady that helped me. She told me she did not see anything.
I knew I left it there, and if there is someone who saw it last - it was her. I would like someone to look on the camera and see how it got lost. That ring has a sentimental value . Please help, I am also trying to contact the lost and prevention. Please put attention on this because I don't want it to happen again.
The woman even said that maybe I left it home.. but, I did not. After I came back from the restroom of the store worrying about my ring _ I can still see the mark on my finger where it was removed. Please call me if you hear anything [protected] Maria/Maripe

First off, I'm really sorry to hear that you lost your ring. While it is unfortuantely, the associate(s) behind the counter are usually really busy and are only focused on making sure the jewelry that belongs to TJ Maxx is not stolen, and not any jewelry belonging to the customer that may have been taken off and left behind. Now while it may be entirely possible that the associate may have placed YOUR ring back inside the case thinking it belonged to the store, it could also have been possible that it was stolen by a nearby customer when they saw a ring left on the counter.

I'm not entirely sure why the associate did not simply contact a manager at that point, but my advice to you for future instances such as this is to ask for the manager. Because I can assure you that the store does in fact have cameras pointed to the jewelry counter (containing VERY high ticket items). And while the manager may or may not be able to access the CCTV feeds, they can at least take your contact info and have LP review the tapes the next time their available.

Distractions happen - and, employees DO steal. I feel for her and I hate thieves with a passion, which happen to love the TJX stores best because we're easy pickins. I work at Marshall's - TJ Maxx's sister store and they don't care about thieves that steal their merchandise. I think that TJX Company isn't too concerned either since they can write it all off at face value (not cost) and really make out since they didn't have to mark it down before it was stolen. They need big write-offs and the thievery that takes place is just that - a HUMONGOUS WRITE-OFF. I have seen the total gross shrinkage for 2010 for one store in particular (my store I work in) and you could have hired 3 loss prevention people and pay them $30, 000.00 a year and still have money left over. But, there is no loss prevention (not in any store) - THAT'S WHY I KNOW THAT TJX IS WRITING OFF LOSSES AT THE SELLING PRICE AND NOT COST because a store would really only need one loss prevention person.

Sometimes employees don't really pay attention to what the customers take off, but it might have been put in the case by accident or someone saw it and took it. Usually when jewelery is found, it goes into the lost and found at the jewelery counter.

T.J. Maxx lied about return policy

TJ Maxx has a return policy that you can return merchandise w/o a receipt within 90 days. I went in to get store credit for an item and the employee - Jenn Whiting and the manager - Shan Lee would not return the item.

They said it was not "in the system. However, I bought the item and tried to return it within 3 weeks --well within TJ Maxx's 90 day return period.

PROBLEM:

Misleading return policy. Item should have been in TJ Maxx's database and it wasn't.

Jenn Whiting was a rude employee and Shan Lee, the manager, was not helpful.

You have 30 days to return
Stores encourage customers to keep their receipts for proof of purchase during returns
Due to the fact that their systems are very basic they need to have the tag or receipt to verify the item
If you do not have your receipt and they cannot verify the item they cannot return the item
Having your return denied does not mean a crappy store... It means that store is sticking to company policy
some stores will make exceptions others won't they are not obligated to make exceptions
Tjmaxx Marshalls Homegoods Sierra trading Post etc. return policy is the same
If they were rude that's different you have a reason to be upset but if you were ify with the item to begin with you should have saved your receipt and asked for them to verbally tell you the return policy so ... Yo bad !
Just because in retail the customer is always right you do know you aren't always right, right ?

The actual policy if you read it states 30 days w/ receipt. They'll take items back for store credit up to 90 days but only if it's in the system. And they count that based off of when the item arrived in the store. NOT when you bought it (that would be a virtual nightmare for any POS system to track).

Well I work at TJ Maxx and I think they were wrong and I actually agree with the complaint. If you do not have the reciept we look it up in the system and if it say "Item not found" we write inf on the store copy of the reciept after we do the return. You must have went to a crappy TJ Maxx because the employer's policy is to keep the customers happy and they did not meet their standards.

Have you read the return policy? Most stores have them posted at either the doors or at their customer service desk. I have never heard of a store with a certain number of days for a return with NO receipt, in fact very few store will return without a receipt. If the store is willing to return it is very rare a customer would receive anything more than a few dollars.

T.J. Maxx unprofessional employees

I have frequented TJ Maxx for many years and have usually had decent customer service. This complaint isn't going to make me stop shopping there but it's to make others aware what to expect.

I was there 2 days ago looking for a pair of jeans. I had an armful of jeans when I went to the dressing rooms. I waited patiently for somebody to come count my items and give me one of those number things so I could try them on. After about 5 minutes of waiting and two employees came out and immediately started talking to one another about, no lie, her "baby daddy" and how he's screwing her out of child support and whatnot acting as if I wasn't even there.

I'm generally not one to complain about stuff like this but after asking if I could try my stuff on she rolled her eyes at me, took the stuff out of my arms to count and continued talking about all this stuff with the employee like I wasn't even there.

I know the whole retail experience is generally not great but I don't think that's any excuse to roll your eyes at a customer for wanting to try on clothes just because you want to continue your conversation. I wasn't being some annoying person or anything.

Is there a receptive way to tell the management team that they all need to take a sensitivity course, it seems like they are all to busy with there own job to take time to check on employees, there is so much drama going on with management, divorce, " I have so much on my plate today", not understanding employees needs if they have disabilities, and management talking with employees about other employees.

T.J. Maxx more cashiers

I shop at TJ MAXX'S at least twice a month. I often shop during my lunch hour. The TJ MAXX'S at 14754 Preston Rd. is always busy during lunch. The line is always long with only (2) cashiers. I have seen customer leave items which they wish to purchase at the front counters, because the wait is always long with only (2) cashiers. I sometime think of the moneys lost due to not having more cashiers.

There ain't any cashiers cuz tjmaxx is understaffing to save money. Corporate gives pay roll and they allocate hours accordingly. They have people but they feel its not in their best interest to use them (cuz they have to pay them...)

I understand, this is definitely not my favorite TJ Maxx I've ever been too. I've had problems with employees and wait times as well.

T.J. Maxx rude clerk

I purchased a pair of earrings in the fine jewelry dept. in the Rock Hill store. I loved them...unfortunately the clasp broke the first time that I wore them. I tried to return them to the store (I had the receipt) and was told by a very rude clerk that I needed the small tag that was attached to the earrings to return them--even with my receipt. I was not told at the time of purchase that I would need this tag, only the receipt! She was so rude and made me feel like I was trying to scam her. There were other customers at the jewelry counter--and she was so rude and smirked so I kept the receipt-- I told her to keep the earrings they were no good to me broken! So beware T J Maxx shoppers!

T.J. Maxx terrible costumer service!

I was disgusted! A few days ago I was returning some items for my mother. She handed me the items and the receipt, and I went on my way to return it. I was just the messenger for her and didn't know nor care about the items or when they were bought or what they were, etc. I stood in line and when the woman finished with the costumer in front of me, i walked up to the counter. she didnt look at me or acknowledge my presence, so i waited. without looking up after a few minutes, she said "Go ahead!" Um, excuse me? I pulled out my items and handed her the receipt. She stocked her leg up in front of her, started chomping her gum and reviewing the receipt (like a true professional... not!). after a few minutes she looked at me and said "This time ill give it to you, but it is past the deadline and that is completely REDICULOUS" she shoved the receipt in my face and showed me the deadline, THEN took a pen, circled it, and shoved it in my face again (in case i was completely blind the first time?). i said ok calmly, because it was NOT my receipt, i had no idea, and was not in the mood to deal with her rudeness. she kept going on about how now shes going to have to go out of her way to make extra markdowns because of careless costumers, blah blah blah. get over yourself, hotshot, and learn how to talk to costumers! A simple respectful explanation about how its past 30 days and too late to return it would have been fine! I left completely angered and embarrased. but I was in a rush and did not have time to speak to her manager. What an old hog, I remember her name and hope to return and tell her what a disgusting employee she is.

A cashier doesnt have any power, but in some stores the only people allowed to take returns are front line supervisors who do have the power to decline a return. They are trained to follow a set of rules for returns, and they are only doing their jobs. When a rude or obnoxious customer comes along and puts up a fight about a certain policy, a manager sometimes bends the rules so the customer doesnt report them. It puts the associate in a bad position and makes them look like an idiot even though they were only doing what they were trained to do. And yes, you do get the occasional cranky associate when you have to deal with people all day that have bad attitude and that are just waiting to pick a fight with you.

I love it when nasty salespeople who think they have the "power" to decline a return because of their unprofessional
bias, call the manager over, and the manager tells them to give us our damn money back. Who do these cashiers
think they are? If it wasn't for our bucks, you wouldn't be making your six dollars an hour. Management knows this, its about time the clerks learn this lesson also. You're a cashier, ok. Your not REALLY in control, like you want to be. And stop telling your friends and family to come in for the "hook up" when the manager leaves. Often times
it is not the customers stealing, but "set ups" by employees. Otherwise, the Clerks would at least look up and pretend
they are surprised when the alarm goes off when one of their friends walks out of the store with merchandise.

I love to shop at your store in Bellingham. There are a lot of things that I like about your store. For example, the customer service and the deals are always great. T.J. Maxx rudeness of personnel and price question not satisfactorily answered

WHILE IN TJ MAXX TODAY, I SAW A PURSE ON THE CLEARANCE SECTION. PRICE WAS NOT CLEARLY IDENTIFIED. WAS ON AN OLD TAG AS IF THE PURSE HAD BEEN RETURNED. I TRIED TO DETERMINE THE CORRECT PRICE OF THE PURSE THROUGH THE CASHIER AND THE MANAGER. THEY BOTH STATED THAT THE PRICE ON THE TAG WAS CORRECT. I DO NOT BELIEVE THE CORRECT PRICE WAS SHOWN FOR EITHER A DISCOUNTED ITEM OR A RETURNED ITEM. THE MANAGER WAS VERY UNCOOPERATIVE AND VERGED ON BEING RUDE. MY QUESTION WAS LEGITIMATE AND I WOULD HAVE PURCHASED THE PURSE HAD I BEEN ABLE TO ASCERTAIN THE CORRECT PRICE. I LEFT FEELING VERY DISSATISFIED WITH THE TREATMENT I RECEIVED. I WOULD THINK IN TODAY'S CLIMATE, THE CUSTOMER WOULD RECEIVE COURTEOUS AND HELPFUL TREATMENT AND THAT ALL SALES WOULD BE SOUGHT BY THOSE IN CHARGE.

Purchased dog leash about 1 week ago. It is a bungee sports leash. I wanted to return it because using it once with my small dog it started unravelling. The manager said that it could not be sent back. The salesgirl said to contact the company. I just used it once. Won't buy anything there again. Another friend of mine had a similar problem.

So, you wanted it cheaper than what was listed on the price tag. You tried to come up with some excuse about the price tag having multiple prices on it, yada yada, yada.
Then you complain because they would not give it to you cheaper than the listed price.
That is why you shop at TJ Maxx.

THEY SHOULD HAVE RUN A MARKDOWN LOOKUP USING THE SOFTWARE ON A MARKDOWN MACHINE. IF THERE IS NO MARKDOWN ON THE ITEM, THE MACHINE WILL NOT PRINT A NEW PRICE STICKER. THIS ONLY TAKES A FEW SECONDS TO DO, AND SAVES THE TROUBLE OF ARGUING WITH CUSTOMERS ABOUT THE PRICE. EVEN IF THEY WERE SURE ABOUT THE PRICE, IT WOULD HAVE SAVED TROUBLE TO JUST PUT IT INTO THE MACHINE TO PROVE TO THE CUSTOMER THERE ARE NO MARKDOWNS ON THE ITEM.

It is people like you that give immigrants a bad reputation. You mothafkrs ruin it for everyone else. You do not belong in the USA, you piece of sht. My advice... Don't STEAL! You got caught breaking the law, you knew when you were applying for citizenship you had to obey the laws. At what point did it not cross your mind when you were free-wheeling through TJ Maxx stealing that it was wrong?! Everytime a shoplifter is caught they want to start complaining about the consequences. Perhaps if people in-general obeyed laws and did not try to get something for nothing their lives would be a little easier.

T.J. Maxx service

I went to the TJ Maxx in Evanston, IL. My mother had bought me a shirt from the Runway section, and the size was wrong so I wanted to exchange it for a bigger size or exchange it for another shirt of the same value ($150). I go to school in the Evanston area and my parents live 2 hours away, so I did not have a receipt for the shirt. The first man I talked to rudely told me that the exchange/return policy did not allow me to do anything without a receipt. I went home and checked the return policy and it clearly stated that I could return an item without a receipt but would only receive store credit. I went back with a printed copy of this, and the same guy rudely told me that he knows his return policy and would not take it back. I asked to talk to the manager, and he also told me that he would not take it back. I was in no mood for arguing so I took the shirt back, but on the way out I told the manager about the rude treatment from the other guy. The manager said nothing and the othey guy rudely mumbled at me while I was walking out. I went back to the same TJ Maxx a few days later, and the manager saw me there. The entire time he just followed me around the store watching what I was picking up. He made me feel like a criminal. If I can pay for a $150 blouse, I don't care about trying to save a few dollars here or there. I will never go back to that TJ Maxx and I advise all of you to never go there either, unless you want to be followed like a criminal and be treated rudely. On the other hand, the TJ Maxx is Oak Brook is amazing with great quality and service.

While not your fault, next time make sure that if you or your mother buys a gift at TJ Maxx, ask for a gift receipt. You'll find that suddenly, a lot of problems with the return that arose from your lack of receipt will magically go away!

Actually, the policy says other restictions may apply, but I guess you skipped right over that part since it would not support your argument that everyone else is wrong and you are right. It is a retailers right to refuse any return for any reason. However, I will say the store should have exchanged the shirt for the identical shirt in a different size, if that is what you were wanting to do. However, you did say they refused to return it, not exchange it. Retailers have to protect their assets, you may not think $150 is much money to a large retailer such as TJ Maxx, Wal-Mart, Target, etc, but when you have 300 to 1000 customers coming into your store each day and 10% - 25% want to return something it adds up very quickly for a company. Just curious, why didn't you just get the receipt from your mother? She could have mailed the receipt and it would have arrived within a few days. As far as the manager following you around, if he/she thought you were stealing loss prevention would have been following you and you would have been none the wiser, not the store manager. Perhaps the store manager was making sure he/she was available if you needed any help in order to off-set the previous bad experience you had with them.

T.J. Maxx stealing

So I came into TJ Maxx today. I rip off every tickets to see if I can get a cheaper price. I went up to the service desk and I ask the asian girl if she can check the price for me. She said no! Then she call another asian girl up. I ask her if she can check the price for me, she said to me rudely, "If those ###ers didn't rip off the price there would be less work for us!". I ask to speak to her manager, she said her manager is not in the store. And I ask her who can I speak to, she said no one. Then she said she can't check the price for me and told me I'll have to wait an hour or so. So I went to the back and found a boy working in the rugs department, I ask him to check the prices for me and he said, "Why don't you bring it to the service desk!?! Do I look like I can help you right now? I'm busy!". I flipped out on him and he wouldn't say anything back. Then there's another asian boy with glasses, I ask him to check the price for me, he said, "Oh, I don't work here." Then they paged him to the fitting room and he left. I said, "Excuse, I thought you say you don't work here." He said, "No I didn't. Well, I do work here but I'm not going to help you!". I was looking all over the store for the manager but couldn't find her so I guess I went into the breakroom? Another asian girl was in there and she scream to me, "HEY! you're not suppose to be in here! It's employee only! Can you not read the sign? If you need to use the rest room, it over there to your right!"

I would never go back to that store ever again.

Tyngsborough is even worst!
I tried on a couple of shoes, and one of the employee said to me, "If you're not going to put it back and clean up the mess, don't try on our shoes." I tried to complain to the manager, she walked out with a bag of McDonald and said, "I'm on my lunch, I'll get another manager to help you." What kind of customer service is that?!?! WTF! Then I continued shopping, everytime I touch something, the employee look at me, I ask them, is there a problem? do it look like I'm stealing. And 3 of the kids reply, "Yeah, it does." I said that's it! Let me speak to your manager! They said "No! We don't have any managers here." So I found the same manager with the bag of McDonald coming in with more foods, I said to her, "Excuse me! Your employees were really rude!" And she said, "Oh, it's okay, well, I'm still on mylunch break, I'll be back in about 20 minutes." So she walk back in the office. I told the kids, I'm going to call the cops and everyone started laughing and hand me the phone. I didn't call the cops on them but I rip about 60 tickets off their mechandise. :) That's what they get for messing with me!

Seriously! No respect! None! I’ve worked in retail for 15 years. Do you want to know why you were treated like that…. Because you acted like that! Even if they have to look up a price on an item it’s still THE SAME PRICE GENIUS! All your doing is wasting your time and theirs, you really expected that to change? Really? That’s why you were treated like a joke. That time could be spent on serving real customers with real issues. Calling another store for particular items, ensuring all departments are recovered. Filling four ways and end caps. Cashing out legit customers. Pushing merchandise. Marking down merchandise. Sizing sorting ticketing categorizing! This is what they could be doing instead of reticketing merchandise that was just ticked. You wouldn’t understand until you do this as a living. Actually care about your departments , store, and or employees. What if there’s a code Adam and Manager on duty is running around looking for your ripped tickets instead, Don’t care do you? No common sense. Grow up dude!

I've been a shopper at the Chelmsford, MA. TJMaxx for YEARS. There isn't now, and never WAS an employee in that store who would treat a customer the way this person CLAIMS they were treated. First of all, he notes that he dealt with clerks of Asian descent...like that should be considered a problem...and all the while, he's unable to write a paragraph in proper English himself. He admits to ripping tags off so he can get a "better price", and then complains because he wasn't treated like royalty. Sounds to me like he's little more than a piece of gutter trash, and obviously, his parents did a rather poor job of raising him.

It is amazing to me how so many people think they are entitled to a job. Guess what? The real world isn't so easy. I am appalled at the one sided view of most of the employees posting here. Maybe the reason you don't get promoted is because you aren't professional, or have poor communication skills. Time on a job, or senority, doesn't preclude a promotion. Part of being a manager is being able to see both sides of a situation. If an employee is being investigated for theft, they aren't going to announce it to everyone. So don't be so sure that your complaint about a thieving employee is going unheeded. They have to build a case, just like anywhere else. Also, while you might have children, that doesn't entitle you to work all the hours you want at the times you want them. Dollar General has a business to run, and that means having associates there when the customers are there. Work is work, not supposed to be some fun, magical place where you get everything you want without any negatives or having to do some labor. Crying about every little thing is going to get you no where. Oh, and talking about ANY kind of sexual activity, straight, bi, or gay would get you fired at every place I have ever worked. It is called sexual harrassment. Even if you don't intend it to be. So keep that crap to yourself if you want to stay employed!

Actually depending on the company it can be easy to get to the employee break room. We have had many customers at the Wal-mart I work at stumble in to the break room because they think the store has two levels or because they think that is the washrrom is(despite the customer washrooms being right before the break room) We just poiltely tell them where the washroom is. Just a few days ago I stopped a man from going in the lady's washroom because he did not read the sign. I doubt that all the facts in this letter are true however. Also calling people who are over the age of maturity "boys" and "girls" is degrading.

T.J. Maxx customer service

I was just in the Tjmaxx in Chelmsford the other day. I have always shopped at tjmaxx since i was a little girl. I was trying to buy a sweater and it seemed like the sweater was missing a markdown. The month on the tag was 07 meaning July yet it had only had one markdown. I went to the service desk to ask one of the associates if they could check it in the computer and they refused. So i had requested to speak to a manger and the assciote said that he was busy and would take a long time to get up here to help me! i told him iwould wait, and i did until he came up. I asked him the same question and he refused to check it! i told him i knew it was less money and he said unless you have the same exact shirt (which there was none because it came out in JULY) then he couldnt mark it down! i was disgusted in his attitude and answer and went out of the store extremely mad and confused! im not going to buy a shirt that i know is marked down ! its the company's own damn fault its not marked down to what its supposed to be ! ! ! ! I HATE TJMAXX IN CHELMSFORD ! ! ! ! !

1. Markdown look up is blocked in our store (High Shrink Target)
2. Items are priced based on how long they been in the store, they can't be marked down at someone's house.
3. I just scan the item in any menu and say "No, sorry it's not marked down (or the color, or the month, the style, it returned, system is down etc.)" in the most polite and apologetic way.
4. When people hear the truth they get upset, when you kiss their ###... they love you still. Or Bad Cop/Good Cop games with manager.

Service desk associates that won't take the time to call a manager or do a look up are liars that don't have the right attitude for customer service

the service desk person mark? obviously doesn't know how to do a markdown look up @ the service desk which will always give the 1st mark down whether subs or initials are open or closed

A mgr is paged to the office to do a price look up. even if I am the only acting mgr in the bldg, i can have the price in 2 minutes.. Complain to corp...

If it does not have a sticker, and there's nothing else like it in the store, it's priced as marked until the next cycle. The next markdown would have been just 5 dollars, 2 dollars less than 7, which is already a very low price for a sweater. Not to mention that month codes do not always match up with the month of the year, and not all items are marked down at the same time despite the month code.

It's unreasonable to expect that all items have the markdown they would have if they went through every cycle, many items that have a markdown on them are returned, and they are generally put back with whatever price they were sold at. Checking a subsequent markdown takes a lot longer for the manager to go into the computers to check. For associates to do this with every clearance item returned would be a waste of time. Many old items are not even in the system and cannot be checked for another markdown, and if someone will buy it at the marked price, there is no reason to mark it down when there is nothing wrong with it.

Hey,

I work at TJ Maxx, and usually am up at the Service Desk.

Honestly, we have specific dates for markdowns and subsequents (subs as we call them), and upon these days, we're allowed to check for markdowns or subs. If not, most of us, cannot check for a markdowns or subs without a manager being present.

It can be very stressful for us up there, having to worry about customer complaints, constantly asking for markdowns, discounts, speaking with a manager, making sure breaks are on time, if we have any one else to ring on a register...

A THOUSAND RETURNS A DAY, it gets quite hectic for us up there.

All I ask is, I know I read that most, or nearly all complaints are about TJ Maxx and their associates. But until you put yourselves in our shoes, I just wish you would have the common courtesy to respect us.

If you are nice to us, we will treat you the same! =) Especially myself, I try to make a nice convo, but some people are grouchy and inconsiderate, you know?

But honestly, the next sub would have been close to two or three dollars off. And people return just TWO dollars, it gets annoying. Or if they sit there and complain why they have to get store credit back, it's very.. very tedious.

Sorry if I come off angry, this is just a lot of locked up anger and disgust for people. Lol, anyway, thanks for reading!

T.J. Maxx store manager attitude and treatment

Today, Feb. 7, 09 I realized after having spent my life at TJMax shopping, the store is CONFUSED with their own prices. I was and I am pissed about the way the manager and the cashier took care of me. The clothing I was trying to buy had mark down prices on them, and during the time I was trying to purchase, they claimed those items were not actually on Sale. HOWEVER, the exact item on the rack (after the manager checked) was infact marked down also. STILL they did not honor the marked down price, they took off their sorry marked down sticker off the ticket, and told me THAT particular top was not on sale despite the fact that its exact twin was! So tell me, WHAT THE HELL IS THAT? I just cannot believe the store embarased ME and treated me like a criminal! I am beyond upset and beyond hurt! especially because TJ Max has always been my FIRST choice! Now, it is NOT my choice at ALL! This happend at the TJMax on Almaden Exp, San Jose, CA. I HATE THEM!

On 02/04/09 I was at that tjmaxx with 2 items to return: a small vest (cash receipt was in the bag) & a knit strapless mini dress. The cashier svelana hardly could speak english, murmured some phrase in her language to another cashier &sked some amanda s, the coordinator, whether that was really a dress. She is seemingly of size 20-22 herself, so when she...
