I’m an employee at TJ Maxx, store 0690, and I, as well as fellow coworkers, have been having problems with one of the management staff.

I recently got injured in a car accident and am currently a senior in high school but was scheduled everyday with 6 hour shifts and was told I had to ring and was not allowed in any other department.

Said manager takes our snacks out of the break room if we do not get at least 6 cards the day before.

Said manager takes badly of other mangers to me and other coworkers. Also, they talk badly of previous managers before they came to work for our store.

Since said manager has been hired we’ve lost 3/4 of our staff and every new hire we get roughly three people leave. A lot of new hires leave after roughly 1 month due to said manager.

I understand part of my job is to get rewards cards, and I have no problem with that. Said manager had made such a big deal out of me and fellow coworkers getting these cards that she takes our snacks, has us go to break very late, and will even threaten jobs, if you do not get a card that day.

My job has been threatened by said manager on several occasions. I’ve been told that if I do not get a card every hour that I am working I will lose my position and they will hire someone who can do the work “I am apparently incapable of.”

Back to my injury. As I said before, I have an injury and so it limits what work I’m able to do. I got a doctors not telling me I need to cute back work hours and focus on healing. Said manager demanded a note from my school and mother as well, telling me the doctors note was not enough. When I told her that the rest of the week I was not able to come to work due to doctors orders she did not take me of the schedule, stating “You came to work today, I don’t understand why you can’t come the rest of the week. Your arms seems to be fine to me.” Mind you, I have a sling on my arm. I dislocated my shoulder. So the work I can do is very limited.

A lot of my fellow coworkers have been having problems with said manager as well. With things such as: scheduling, RTO’s, and family emergencies. No one was brave enough to come forward so they asked me to. I’m a very outspoken person and do not think the way me and my fellow coworkers have been treated us even remotely right. Im not sure what can be done but if it does not change I will need to find a new job.

Desired outcome: I’d appreciate a response and would like to be given the hours my doctor has signed off. I would like said manager to understand that I’m a high school student and can not work crazy hours.

I completely agree with Jatarra because I also work at the store 0690. There is some many things that this managers shouldn’t be doing. If we don’t get one card we get threaten and if we get two cards we still get the same thing. We aren’t “good enough” and “we don’t try enough” is enough! We all understand that we need rewards but having our snacks taken away and our job threaten is not Okay! We have sadly lost almost all of our staff that’s been here for years! She expects us to drop everything that’s going on to be at work even if there were emergencies and injuries as jatarra had mentioned about hers to be at work! They won’t even work with our availability they work around it and expects us to make it work when we CANT!
