Taco Bell review: Water charged as sweet tea, because there isn't a button for water.

Been eating at TB for decades. We bought a house near one, and we both work near one. The one near my work just tried to bill us for sweet tea when we asked for a cup of water. We always get 1 or 2 cups of water, but have never before been charged for them. They're courtesy cups.

When the sweet tea popped up on the drive through bill of sale screen we got a little perturbed. We reasserted that the request for water, loud and clear. Nit sweet tea, water! The kid just kept saying there isn't a button for water, so he has to bill for something else. I tried explaining that there isn't a button to charge for it because there's never been a charge for it — as far as I know (maybe somewhere, but no TB I've eaten at). He didn't get it.

We had him remove it and just got the food. Is this a thing now?

Does TB charge for water now, but has yet to add that option to the order screen? Do they charge the same price as a syrup sweetened carbonated beverage? Do they no longer have courtesy cups for water, for otherwise paying customers?
