Mavis Discount Tire Service to my car

I am just letting you know I am a little disappointed in Mavis on Beach Blvd in Jacksonville Fl. I have gone to them for so long and the last time I went I I had to wait almost 2 hours for an oil change and tire rotation, no one told me anything. or gave me any updates on my car. I got in my car and I found someone had spilled a drink and barely tried to clean it up. It was nasty! This happened several months ago, but just getting around to writing about it. The time before this I had something similar happen as well and let it slide. I tried to give them benefit of doubt but I think I need to find some place else. These new people in that Mavis don't have people skills.

Mavis Discount Tire My brake and rotor job amongst past experiences

I am writing because I recently reached out about my brakes having issues after having full service of brakes and rotors. Not cheap ordeal to not be done right! Videos to show. Done At mavis colonie. I have to have them completely redone because I can not chance the lack of training mavis gives their workers on brakes when I travel a lot. It’s a matter of sadety! If you look at my past I repeatedly return sometimes same day because of mistakes made. I always come back because truthfully your workers are very nice people I just question their training and lack thereof and always have but then someone is new and I figure ok fresh start, and training is on mavis not them. I can go in one day and there be a manager I trust the next day a completely new manager. This is not fair to customers in trust. If you look at my record so repeatedly have things done and have to return same or or within the same week. It’s exhausting and I’m done helping them fix mistakes.

I was contacted by the regional manager who now need me to have the car writing up someplace because I refuse to have mavis touch my vehicle again. At first I said ok then got off and felt punished and slighted that This not only takes more of my time after spending my entire days in mavis but it causes me to have to take more unpaid time off of work.

I request a refund so I can get repairs redone. I travel for work and this now interferes with that also. This is a safety issue and if I need to obtain an attorney and report to the better business bureau then that’s what I need to do. I am not making a threat I am simply needing to advocate for my self since mavis all the way to the top is not.

Desired outcome: Refund so I can get repairs immediately I do not have time for mavis investigation. I can send video or look at my records of repeatedly going back even as simple as forgetting to replace oil filter at oil change. It’s unacceptable!

Nature of the Complaint: Refund / Exchange Issues

Consumer’s Original Complaint:

I began having brake issues end of Jan 2023. 1 Feb 2023 dropped car at Tuffy Tire and Auto Service. They replaced all brake pads/rotors and completed brake system flush ($954.93). 13 days later (13 Feb 2023) I took my car in for body work and received a call from technician, telling the brakes had failed while he was moving car. We checked and found all the brake fluid gone from an exploded brake line. I had my car towed back to Tuffy same day. 33 days later, I picked up car and found I had little or no braking power. I brought it to their attention and was told that this was normal and to drive it for a few days and it should be ok. I took it down the road to Tire Kingdom, and was told I had no rear brakes and that whoever bled my brakes did not complete the process or even do. When tire kingdom completed the bleed same day, they found a bad ABS sensor which was not showing prior, due to no rear brakes ($310.23). The day I had my car towed; I asked the manager why I was not told of the probability of my brake line exploding. He said that they had discussed the rust but did not say anything to me. Then proceeded to blame me for not asking to have my brake lines checked during brake job. I became angry, telling them they were the experts and should have told me of the issue and that they had endangered my life and the body shop tech. They weren't concerned and continued to place fault with me. 15 Feb, Tuffy called me and said Dodge discontinued the brake line and that I had to order it online. I ordered ($247.50) receiving, Feb 25, 2023 (custom build). We dropped off brake line on same day received. It appeared based on many unreturned phone calls to Tuffy, they did not begin working on my car until 2nd week of Mar, with multiple brake parts replaced (unsure if bad). Picked up 18 Mar ($2,067.23). I complained to Tuffy HQ, and the franchise was changed to Mavis. I called Mavis customer support with no answer. This company is a rip-off and deserves prosecution! My car has been to Tire Kingdom an additional 3 times since 18 Mar for more repairs due to the shoddy or down right no repair work done by Tuffy/Mavis (parts failed). Your company has endangered my life, my family and others on road. I have spent over $4,000.00 since 1 Feb and my brakes still don't respond properly to stop my vehicle. I dare you to come drive my car and find out for yourself! I can provide receipts and corroboration from Tire Kingdom just down road from Tuffy/Mavis. That is another issue - they advertise as one company (sign on building/receipts) but fall under Mavis, why?

Desired outcome: Full Refund so I can repair my brakes so they work like they should (Retired Veteran/on fixed income)

Mavis Discount Tire Tires, strutz,alightment, windshield wiper motor

I went to the Plaistow New Hampshire location in Mavis back in June. I receive new tires new struts. I went back because I had some problems with my sensors. I was told when I got an oil change that my brake fluid cap was missing they said that they fixed it they couldn’t figure out what was wrong with my sensors. My windshield wipers were also not working properly, but at that time still work just very slow. I went back again because I was still having problems. I had my tires rotated. Got new breaks. I ended up with a flat. I went to go get an inspection, and my windshield wipers completely stopped working someone put something back together with zip ties. My strut was not in properly. It was making a noise. Both brand new tires are completely warped. Because the alignment was never done properly. My car failed inspection. I spent a lot of money and a lot of time in the Plaistow New Hampshire location I tried to get it rectified I wanted a full refund. Nobody was getting back to me in time my car is dangerous to drive. I don’t even have windshield wipers to use. I went to the Salem New Hampshire location that fixed my Strut supposedly then told me I need a new tire rod had to order the tires that were covered under warranty and then would do the alignment properly. Well, my tie rods needed to be loosened and it just took a little bit more effort. I don’t need a new tire rods. I really don’t know what to do at this point I don’t want to have to take this to court but my car was completely fine before I came in. I need a new tires and now I’m failing inspection. There has to be some type of resolution, but if you prefer, I take it to court for a full refund to get my car properly fixed I will because I have pictures, I have documents. I have proof of all of this. I have taken my car now to another place who had to order and additional broken part. Mavis was supposed to fix the tire and alignment issue which would lead me to sit at yet another place. I am now without a car at all at the moment. Very frustrated, all I wanted was everything fixed at one place. I am left hanging once again. This is gone on for over a week now.

On receipt oil change completed. 6 minutes from leaving their oil light and engine light comes and car stops. Checked my oil stick since oil light was on. NO OIL IN CAR. Call back soon as oil stick check. They gave me the run around. Finally picked up car on Monday saying they will replace engine. This has really inconvenienced me getting to work and school. Ask for a rental and no response. Please help

Mavis Discount Tire Service in at the Harleysville, Pa location

Multiple issues on 4/13/2023 at the Harleysville, Pa store. First, our appointment was for an oil change and Pa inspection, the inspection was completed, however the oil change was not. Additionally, no one called us to let us know the vehicle was finished; we had dropped the car off in the AM and returned 6 hours later to find that they had finished, but without completing the oil change.

The second and more concerning issue, is that an employee by the name "Addison" was openly mocking my wife. We had already paid and were on our way out when we realized some mavis property was left in our car. I returned to find Addison openly mocking my wife. His back was turned to me as I approached, but his peers saw me coming and were actively trying to "shush" him.

I had hoped to get a Pa inspection and an oil change, not to deal with an employee actively attacking my wife's appearance. Incompetence is a mistake I can forgive, making another appointment for an oil change isn't a big deal, but the level of unprofessionalism and disregard for basic courtesy has left me extremely frustrated and disappointed. Needless to say, Addison is no asset to this company and his actions are the driving force behind this complaint. The loss of a customer may not be overly concerning for this corporation, but I sincerely hope that his actions aren't a reflection of this company's ethics.

Harleysville is a small town, so you can be sure that I will pass this information to my friends and family.

Desired outcome: Addison dismissed from duty is the minimum, keeping an employee like him will surely effect customer loyalty beyond the reaches of my friends and family.

Mavis Discount Tire Tire service

I called yesterday 4/11 to make an appointment for 4 new tires today 4/12/2023. Was quoted a price of 738.00 complete, I asked that is going to be a complete job said yes just tax has to be added. No problem sounds good and made an appointment with a deposit. My bill was over by 100.00 dollars, when asked why they didn’t give me a tire disposal but we agreed on a price.Received a call on 4/11 that the tires will be there in the morning great , had a 11 am appointment on the 12 th. I called to see if the tires were in around 1030 was told not till after 12/ 1 so why give me a 11 am appointment? They said will call me no call so I go there at 1215. Was told that the tires have been there since the first delivery? So what the hell. Ok only 2 cars in the bay no other cars in the lot, guys says no problem get it done since you are waiting for your car 45 min later take in my car ok , not 2 or 3 but 5 hours to change 4 tires. Other customers came in and they went to them and stopped working on my car, are you kidding me, that’s a joke .That is unacceptable to change 4 tires, then try to sell me other stuff and have my hood up my tires are under the car, total BS. I think that I should be compensated for my time because it’s my time sitting and waiting for you company to complete a simple task if’s that your JOB. And I had an appointment ahead of time! Mavis in Bayshore I actually timed them 1hour 15 min for 1 tire, they employee s can give 2 sh—ts walk around on their phones. Check your cameras if they even work. I think that you get what I’m saying and feel that I should get compensation for my time wasted.

Desired outcome: Getting compensated for my time of wasting time , at leastCall me on a resolution [protected], and I can bet the bank on it that I will never hear back from you.

Mavis Discount Tire Breaks service

I took my car to Mavis and breaks shop

Pour break pad replacement they replaced my break rotors even they are not supposed to be replaced I am not happy with they did

My car message was saying check break pads

But not the rotors

I mesured both rotor’s tolerance and the car rotors still have more than 10% tolerance

Knowing the car was made 2020 still a new car with low mileage

Mavis Discount Tire Tire Alignment

in April 8th 2023, I took my Mercedes CLS for Alignment. drop it off, and came back after an hour an half when they called me and informed me the job is done. there, the technician showed me the report and told me "WE COULDN'T GET THE JOB DONE". Told him why? said because "Manufacturer does not specify adjustments on this vehicle"!. didn't understand what does he mean. He then charged me and handed me the key. took the car for test and no improvement at all! nothing changed.

Desired outcome: need to be reimbursed for Alignment, Since the Job was never done.

Mavis Discount Tire Brakes & rotors

So I visited your 671 Lake Joy Road location in Kathleen, GA on 3.21.23 due to a high screeching noise coming from the front left of my car. Haven't lived here long so had a friend drop me off and bring me back to work.

Received a call informing me of the price and couldn't believe it. My ride had left for a number of hours and while I knew I should've waited and taken the car somewhere else for a second opinion, but didn't want to put my friend thru the hassle and would've meant another day or so without my car. So I said fix it and thought I'd chat with the manager when picking up the car. They called at end of day got my ride back over and shop had pretty much closed up except for 2 girls at front and a gentleman described as the shop manager like he oversees the shop area but not the store.So the girl went over the bill with the shop manager listening behind us and I asked questions each time explaining why you guys stand behind those prices. I inquired about the $148.99 brake special to see if that had been applied, about the total 2.5 labor hours charged when they didn't even have the car an hour and a half. and having had a few "car people" look at it, they aren't convinced the rotors were even changed ~ they all have rusting on them and aren't a shiny silver like

one might expect. Several lessons learned here for myself, mostly doing more

homework up front. No matter who I call, Mieneke, Precision and so forth I'm told an average price, even had a buddy call your store and was quoted right at everyone elses average cost around $400-500, even Kia dealerships themselves aren't much more than that so I'm perplexed why I am paying right at double that. I felt like I was being ripped off during and especially after this

experience, like they saw a sucker walk thru the doors with a repair that lends

itself to high markups. Let me know if you would like any pics, I am happy to send. I wound up financing it thru y'alls card that I applied for that day.

Desired outcome: Any adjustments you can make would be greatly appreciated and help this customer not feel so taken. Thanks in advance!

Mavis Discount Tire Tire traction control sensor

In early March I contacted mavis about a traction Control sensor light that came on and went off on my dash panel. They asked me to bring it in and said they'd look at it. They said there was rust around the sensor but it was otherwise ok. Within minutes after leaving mavis my ABS, traction control light and check engine light came on. I took it back to mavis. They again took it in and looked at it and then quoted me over 600.00 to replace the sensor. I was told it was hard to get to and wasn't an easy job. Thinking that was a high quote I called a family member who owns a garage and took it there. They removed the tire and found out that mavis had unplugged the sensor wire which caused the lights to come on, on the dashboard. He plugged the sensor back in and I've had no issues with my car since. The family member of mine that plugged the sensor back in said they did it because I am a woman and they thought they saw a way to get money out of me. In this day in age its very sad to see that still happening. I've since called them about replacing a head light bulb and was told they had to remove the bumper to get to the light fixture. I personally replaced the bulb in 15 minutes and never had to remove a bumper to change the bulb in my headlight. Again I'm very irritated with the service they claim to provide for their customers.

Desired outcome: I just want to know how this is allowed to happen in this day in age that as a woman, I have to worry about a male run business has the right to scam women.

Mavis Discount Tire Basic oil change

I took my mint condition older Mercedes-Benz in for a basic oil change. The Mavis in Liverpool, NY on Oswego rd. They did the work but my vehicle was suddenly idling rough afterwards. I drove it more and the temperature got overheated. It started making a crazy noise so I opened the hood. The vehicle just passed inspection and was in excellent condition, no warning lights. Sad to report that the tech spilled oil all over my belts housings and grooves causing it to slip. Now Im scared to drive for fear of an accident or causing more damage to other components. I spoke on the phone with the Regional Manager about it and his suggestions was drive it in so they can "clean it". How is it okay to add a solvent to the rubber which will likely do the same thing as the oil. Especially since im already having problems. These belts aren't supposed to be carelessly made a mess of, soaked in oil and then cleaned. The proper way would be to replace the belts according to Mercedes-Benz themselves. I told the manager that I didn't feel safe driving the vehicle and couldn't afford a tow. Instead of offering to pay for the tow the regional manager secretly showed up to the location. He definitely spoke about me to his staff before my arrival. They were pretty much insinuating that it either didn't happen or they weren't responsible. I showed the manager pictures of the damage and videos are timestamped. I offered to bring the manager or whomever to the vehicle to check it but they refused. I attached pictures but some of the oil has gone into the groves and underneath the rubber.

Desired outcome: Vehicle is going to Mercedes-Benz dealership. They will replace with brand new parts. Mavis needs to pay this bill...NOW!!!
