I purchased a phone online 05-10-2025, according to makro it would take 18 days to be delivered (18 days, I thought that was abit much and called to see if I can maybe collect the phone rather to save some time as I needed the phone urgently) I was advised I have to wait till the 22nd or 23rd when the phone will be delivered. Today marks day 18- I have no phone and have paid full upfront.
I had to call and follow up only to find out that the order was only processed today. I have called and emailed a few times-but nobody understands my urgency as a client-they made their sale-got my money-cannot provide feedback and who knows what will happen to the phone? I hope to hear from someone - eventually - if there is an aftersales service at makro - if someone gave a dam about another... I guess im at the mercy of this wonderful and helpful team until I get feedback or maybe even the phone I paid for 18 days ago...
Claimed loss: I PAID R10000 FOR A NEW PHONE. I TOOK THE DAY OFF WORK AS I KNOW MY COMPLEX CAN BE STICKY WITH DELIVERY DRIVERS.
Desired outcome: MY PHONE, THAT WAS PAID FOR UPFRONT.IF I CAN GET BACK WITHOUT HAVING TO WAIT FURTHER- I WOULD RATHER DO THAT AND SPEND MY MONEY AT A COMPANY WHICH PROVIDES SERVICE, UPDATES AND CARE

I purchased an iPhone on Makro online. It was paid for upfront, once the order was placed-it advised the phone would take 18 days to be delivered (18 days? I thought that should be mentioned when placing the order) I needed the phone urgently so I called after placing the order and asked if I could pick up the phone from a store to save some time. I was advised it's an online purchase and I have to wait for the delivery date. 18 days came and went-I took a day's leave on the delivery date to assist the driver when he arrives as the complex I live in is strict when it comes to deliveries. I did not receive any type of feedback or notification from Makro so I called and emailed numerous times but no1 could explain what is happening. They advised they escalated the matter (maybe to Santa Klaus). Day 19 came-no phone, no reason. I received an email from the service team saying there was an issue with the supplier-and they are going to refund me which will take 5-10 business days.
18 days waiting for a phone
1 day leave I cannot get back
another 10 days to wait for MY MONEY I PAID
Absolutely appalling service-I will never shop at Makro again
