MyLostPetAlert is a lifesaver! Last Friday, our beloved Raven ran out of the car like a bolt of lightning and disappeared into the night. What I liked about the service is that it's affordable and they use a voice actor to record a personalized message that gets played over the phone to neighbors, vets, and shelters in your area. But what I didn't like is that I think they use bots to send messages to people who post about lost pets online. It would be better if they just came out and said who they were and what they do.

And then there's PetAmberAlert.com, which started calling me after I updated my Craigslist post. I don't know how they got my number, but it's weird.

Anyway, if you're in a bind and can afford it, MyLostPetAlert.com might be worth a try. But I recommend doing some research online about how to find a missing pet and enlisting friends and family to help you make flyers and posters to put up in the area where your pet was last seen. Don't give up hope, either. My cat has been missing for almost two months, but I've been getting updates from locals and I hope to catch him soon.

While I know they've sent out faxes and are running Facebook ads, I haven't received any confirmation that a voice message has been created and sent out to people in my area. It's frustrating because if they have to go down the block to find my sign, she'll likely be gone by the time they get back.
