2015 kia sorento engine failure
On 8/11/23, my daughter in law was driving my Kia and the engine just stopped. She had it towed to a mechanic, only to be told that there was a recall on these engines (which I never received). She had the vehicle towed on 8/12/23 to Gay Family Kia (where I purchased the car) in Dickinson, Texas. We were originally told it would take 2 weeks to review the vehicle and hear back from Kia. Today, 9/8/23, we were told it could take up to 12 weeks to get a response. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! I have purchased several of your vehicles through the years and have NEVER had a problem. I want to know if this is incorrect from the dealership, or is it going to take KIA Motors that long to decide what to do with my vehicle. The VIN 5XYKT3A66FG630578.

2015 Kia Sorento engine failure
On Monday September 5, 2023 I was driving my 2015 Kia Sorento and while pulling into Wawa at PA Rte 309 and pumping station road the engine stopped without any warning. I could not restart the engine even attempting jump starting the motor would not even turn over. I have my vehicle towed to Gateway Kia in Quakertown, Pa where I bought the vehicle in 2018. They determined that the motor failed and Tim Service Manager told me that this is a common issue and that this motor in under recall. I also purchased a Kia vehicle protection contract when I purchased this vehicle. I was told that approval was necessary to replace the motor. As of this communication September 8, 2023 this approval has not been received by the service department at Gateway Kia. I am also told that it will take 2 weeks or more to have the motor replaced. I also asked about a loaner car and none are available and I am on the list. This is not acceptable that it takes this long to receive approval for the engine replacement and not having a loaner vehicle avaliable. This vehicle has about 93,000 miles and I do an oil change every 5000 miles. Please look into this issue and contact me with a resolution at [protected] or by email [protected]@verizon.net.

Engine failure not covered
On August 12/23 I was driving back from the Chatham area, coming back into Delhi when my motor started making a noise. Within seconds it shut down and I lost power steering and brakes. My vehicle is branded so KIA dealership in Port Dover, Ont said KIA will not cover engine replacement. I feel this was a safety issue and I could have been injured or injured someone else. Very thankful I was off the freeway. I feel KIA should be helping pay for this repair.
Anti theft update failure, car stolen using the kia hack
I had my car service for the anti theft update back on March 31,2023. On August 7, 2023 my car was stolen, I contacted Kia Care and I explained that I got the update and my car was still stolen, my doors were locked and I had both key fobs in the house. I was instructed to send police report and pictures and I have done so. I was then told my case is under review and I would be contacted about potential reimbursement once the investigation is complete.
I’m not understanding why there needs to be an investigation when there is clearly a police report! I was in Mississippi when my car was stolen and had to get a rental from
My insurance company to get back to Michigan
Next week I will be at my max for the insurance to pay for the rental and I will be with out a car until my car is fixed. I reached out again to Kia care to notify them that my rental has to be returned and if I could get an update on my case I was told I would have to pay out of pocket for a rental and save my receipt and I could potentially be reimbursed for the rental.
I just started a new job so I don’t have the funds to pay for a rental that I potentially won’t get reimbursed for and I can’t afford to miss any days at work since it’s a new job.

And this is my third Kia I have purchased, I raved about Kia to friends and family and how they take care of their customers.
Some of my friends and family own Kia’s because of me saying how great they are.
It’s so unfortunate to be put in this situation after being a customer for so long!

Kia Telluride 2022
Currently my vehicle is in the shop for a 2nd time in 2 months with the backup camera messing up when there is moisture outside. Blackwell keeps telling me there is nothing g they can do because it won’t replicate the issue when in the shop. I have videoed it both times and showed them but they still refuse to fix it because Kia won’t cover it if the camera won’t act up while in the shop. Now my inside hatch handle is broke and they want me to pay $300 to fix it when it wasn’t broke before being pulled apart to check the wiring. Secondly the heat goes from 130 to 65 when idling and Kia says that is normal. THAT IS NOT NORMAL! But Blackwell won’t fix that either because Kia won’t cover any parts fix it and they aren’t going to pay out of their pocket to find a solution. I don’t have video of the thermometer to show it drop by Blackwell Auto in Danville Va does.

Engine failure not covered
my vehicle had been in a accident before I purchased it and after the fact i found out KIA will only cover safety related issues. My engine seized and i was left with no power steering or brakes trying to get it off the road. Very lucky I still wasn't on the 401 freeway, or I may not be here today to post this. I feel this is a safety issue and KIA should pay all or some of the costs for the engine replacement. Port Dover KIA dealership says they talked with KIA and they will not cover any costs. Interesting that they will give a free software update. No details on what the upgrade is. They have done these before, free, I don't think they were safety related so double standard. I will be paying about $7300.00 for the engine replacement and I am looking for some help to cover costs.
Desired outcome: Help cover cost of repairs. Even supply engine and I will pay labour.
Steering wheel locking device offer letter
I received my letter for the steering wheel lock device and have not been able to put in a request to have it sent. the online access support portal does not work, the customer support phone number provided, no one answers or they are in some type of training. What is going on..? I wonder if this is just some kind of gimmick to have people thinking that they are concerned with the Kia thefts that have occurred all over the world. Let me know please!
Kia Service in Iceland
I need to reach out to KIA in Europe to get some help and complain about the KIA service that Askja (kia.is) has provided me with my KIA Sorento 2015 (VIN= KNAKU814DE5566485). My car is only driven 110.xxx km, and has been services by Askja from 2018, when I bought it from Sweden. After the last few services done by Askja, I simply had enough of their services and refused to take my car to them for future service after the 7-year warranty expired in April 2022.
Recently I took my car to another repair shop to address an issue that Askja couldn’t fix even though I brought my car to them three times in a row to Askja and they charged me around €800 and couldn’t even fix the problem. But after I took my car to the other repair shop, I was told that the AWD isn’t working on my car and that the computer shows two error codes, P1831 and P1832. The AWD Couper is broken and doesn’t work. Of course, this was a shocking surprise but at the same time I got the answer, why has my car been so horrible to drive in the snow over the past three years, during winter times. I simply got stuck in snow, even though we are talking about like 15 cm deep snow. My wife's car, Mazda 3, simply outperformed my Kia Sorento during the winter times. There were no indications that the AWD wasn’t working. No error on the dashboard, the AWD lock light came on when the car was struggling and trying to apply the AWD system. I had mentioned how disappointed I was with my car performance in the snow, at least two times when I took it to Askja for a scheduled service. But all I got was from them was “Hmm that’s surprising” and that’s it. No follow up nor did they check if there were issues with the AWD, especially since there are well known issues with the AWD Coupler in these vehicles.
And now I have a car that has always been serviced by a qualified service provider and all this time the AWD has not been working and no one at Askja seems to have checked it out or noticed. These P1831 and P1832 error codes must have been spotted a long time ago.
Other issues I have had with the Askja services are these:
2018 I wanted a software update Navigation System. Askja told me that there were no updates available, even though I knew there was. So, I contacted you (KIA Europe) and complained about it. A few days later, Askja called me and told me there was a software update available.
2020 73.000 km) The parking brake wasn’t working as it should. My transmission was in P it would start rolling if I parked my car on a small slope. After the repair, the parking brake wasn’t working any better.
2020 During the 75.000 km service checkup, I asked them to fix the light beam from the headlights. It was pointing way too low to the ground, so the lights were only working like 5 meters in front of the car, making a driving in the dark on a non-lid up roads extremely dangerous. I was told that the headlights were as they should be and there was nothing done about it.
2021 88.000 km) Once again asked them to fix the parking brake. This time it did work better than before. My car still rolls even when the transmission is in P, but not if I use the parking brake.
2022 90.000 km) Once again asked them to fix the headlights beam. It was unacceptable to have them like this and extremely dangerous. This time Askja told me that the Headlight Level Sensor was not working, and they would replace it under warranty. But that didn’t make any difference, the headlight beam was still pointing to much down. So, I had to open the bonnet and screw the adjustment screws (no adjustment dial inside the vehicle on the dashboard) on the headlight itself to fix the light beam myself.
2022 92.000 km) Every time I press the brakes and turn the steering wheel at low/very low speed these is like a cracking noise coming from the front wheels. I took my car to Askja three times in order to try to fix this problem. Askja replaced the top strut mount at the front. Charge me around €800 for that service + part. Didn’t fix the problem. I complained about it with Askja and they agreed to look at it once again. This time they were focusing on the breaks. But like before they didn’t fix the problem and you can still hear this cracking noise.
After all of this and the 7 year warranty had expired on my car, I didn’t want to take my car to Askja for anymore and let them service it.
Desired outcome: Fix the AWD Couple in my car.
2023 Kia Telluride
In March of this year, our 2023 Kia Telluride, that we lease through Kia, was involved in an accident. Since March, our Kia has been sitting at the repair shop awaiting parts that Kia can not provide. This is unacceptable. We are leasing a Kia, through Kia, paying Kia, and Kia refuses to provide the parts to fix it and expects us to continue to pay on lease for a vehicle that they have no intention on providing parts to fix.
Kia has blocked me on all social media, won't return my messages, hang up on me when I do get through, and has told me there is no one there with Kia that can help.
This company obviously has zero ethics and zero integrity.
Desired outcome: Repair, take back, or replace vehicle
Kia EV6
I bought Kia EV6 last year. Two days ago, it shows on dashboard "stop and check electrical system." I towed my car to the Kia Dealer Pohanka in Salisbury, Maryland. My car has only 7800 miles. Dealer say 12 v battery is bad and they try to fix it whole day today. I am afraid that I will stuck on road when old battery fails again. I would like to have a new battery install so I can use my ev6 without any worries.

Pearl White Paint on 2020 Telluride
I was driving from Florida to Ohio and noticed paint peeling on my roof and hood when I stopped for gas. I did not want to drive back to Florida with this issue. I took it to a body shop and they were able to fix the areas but stated the paint is a manufacturer defect. When the shop went to start their work all of the paint started peeling off both the hood and roof. I did not have the time to get all of this fixed so asked them to repair it as best as they could to get me through the next month. I have read various concerns from other KIA customers who have had this same issue with the pearl white paint not adhering to the car. I would like my hood and roof completely painted and to be refunded for the money I paid to repair the peeling paint so I could get home to Florida from Ohio.

Snow Pearl paint on 2018 Kia Sorrent
The paint is peeling off in sheets on the roof by my windshield and in spots on the hood & other areas. It's been happening for awhile, but the sheets coming off on the roof of the car has been in the last 2 weeks (it's 8/21/2023 now). I've called the dealership twice (in Concord, CA) and have not received a call back regarding options. I've seen on forums that this is a known paint/adhesive issue with Kia. What are my options to resolve this matter?

Complaint regarding limited access to kia access app

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the recent experience I have had as a customer of Kia Motors. I purchased a 2023 Sportage from Dutchess Kia, and while I have been generally satisfied with the vehicle, I am extremely disappointed with the handling of the Kia Access app access that was promised to be included with the purchase of the car.
During the sales process, I was informed by the now-former salesman that the Kia Access app would be included with the purchase of the vehicle and that there would be no additional fees associated with its use. This was a significant factor in my decision to purchase the vehicle, as the app's features and functionalities were presented as a valuable part of the ownership experience.
To my dismay, I recently discovered that my access to the Kia Access app has been severely limited, and I was prompted to pay a fee in order to continue using its features beyond the initial year of ownership. This directly contradicts the information provided to me by the salesman, who never mentioned any fees or limitations on the app's usage after the first year.
Adding to my frustration, when I approached the dealership to address this issue, I was met with a lack of assistance from the new sales manager. Despite explaining the situation and the promises made by the salesman, I received no resolution or assistance in rectifying the situation. This disregard for customer satisfaction is disheartening, and it reflects poorly on Kia Motors as a brand.
I am deeply disappointed by this turn of events, as it feels like a breach of trust and a violation of the terms under which I made my purchase. As a loyal customer, I believe that Kia Motors should honor the commitments made during the sales process and provide the promised access to the Kia Access app without imposing additional fees.
I kindly request that Kia Motors promptly address this matter by restoring my access to the Kia Access app without requiring any additional fees beyond what was originally promised.

Kia optima 2013
Several recalls on my car one being the motor. I have not driven my car since February 25, 2023. Could not get a appointment with my local dealership to begin repairs until June 5 2023 and it’s now august 18 2023 and my car hasn’t even been touched to begin repairs.. every time I call I’m told that someone will return my call and that never happens.. so my car has been torn up for 6 months but yet I’m still having to make payments on it
Recall resolution
I own a 2019 Kia Sorento that has two recalls that a Kia dealer refuses to fix. We didn't buy the car from them or something like that. I keep getting notices of recall action required but, dealer doesn't want to fix. One of the recall items is for faulty wiring that can cause a fire. It's suggested that the vehicle be parted outside, away from everything so as to limit the fire damage. The other recall is to update the cars security software so this model is not so easy to steal. If the dealer not going to fix the recalls on this vehicle and it catches fire or is stolen, then Kia is going to owe me a new car!
Desired outcome: Either fix the recalls or buy the car back at Blue Book Fair price and I'll buy something else.
Service and sales department
After purchasing my car the carfax said my brake inspection and tire rotation was 10,000 miles overdue. Finally, I was able to get said service appointment authorized and when I brought my car in they only inspected the brakes and created paperwork. When I asked why my tires were not rotated they said”it wasn’t needed”! I also asked them to air my tires to equal levels in all 4, nothing was done. So I had my own inspection done at another certified shop and they reported: tire rotation necessary to get full life of tires, brake pads at 4mm all around and brake fluid needed. This info differed from Kia and when I went back to Kia to inform them they suggested I get a 3rd opinion as shops tend to rip off customers! Waste of time.
Paint and parts on back order
2012 Kia Sportage

Kia Sportage is in for service at KIA of Delray Beach FL.. There are issues with the brake light switch and computer boards. Also, the paint has been fading and peeling. The vehicle has been at the service department for three weeks. The computer parts are on back order. At first I was never told they were on back order. I had to find that out for myself. A severe lack of communication. The service department cannot give me a date for the arrival of the parts. This is my work vehicle and I have had to make other arrangements which have become a burden . It is a ridiculous situation! No time frame and no updates.
Secondly, the vehicles paint is terrible. The red paint is severely faded and peeling off. Not exactly a good example of KIA quality! I have had to use black primer to cover the worst areas. I maintain my vehicles with regular washes and paint protectors. But, there is no hope for this paint job other than getting it repainted or wrapped.
Desired outcome: I believe I am owed some type of compensation for the peeling paint and the amount of time it has taken to get the back ordered parts and service done.
Driver ext mirror paint and touch screen monitor defect
Bought a 2020 Kia Sportage SX turbo in May 2020. Today is 6 August 2023. Within the last two months, noticed a substantial amount of paint peeling off driver side exterior mirror (brought this to the attention of the service rep at Stokes Kia in June, haven't heard from them in over a month); and now I noticed spots are occurring in my touch screen monitor! Kia Sportage surely was a nice vehicle when I purchased it; however, would not expect it to have such issues at this present time. I am definitely a person who tries to take care of my things. Questionable, if I would recommend this brand to others.
Desired outcome: Kia to cover cost and repair these issues. And an explanation on why these things are happening in/to a NEW vehicle.
Pearl White Paint
I have a 2020 Kia Telluride that is peeling paint on the top of my roof. There has been problems with this pearl white paint in the past. I feel that it should be taken care of from Kia. There has actually been a recall on this paint in older models. I should not be out money or driving around with this on a newer vehicle when Kia knows that there is an issue with this paint peeling.
Desired outcome: I would like the roof to be repainted or to be reimbursed the $1900.00 that I got quoted to get it repainted.
2017 Kia Soul White Pearl Paint
Husband took vehicle to car wash, a small area started peeling. 6 months later almost the entire right upper quarter panel is now missing paint and the hood now is started to peel and delaminate. Kia dealership where service is provided confirmed that this is a known issue with White Pearl paint however there is not a recall on this through Kia. Cost to repaint my entire car would be almost 10k.
Desired outcome: Kia should repaint my vehicle. Car has under 60k miles and this should not be happening.
