KIA Motors 2017Kia Forte LX Sedan 16V DOHC Engine

A few days I go I was driving my car and it started making a noise that is similar to a diesel truck engine. I proceeded to get on the free way where my car was hesitant to shift to the correct gear. I switched it over to manual as my car is a dual transmission and when I did it was in 3rd gear and my rpm’s were reading 65mph. At this point I almost got hit by semi truck with a trailer. I got off at the next exit. I called my dad and he told me to park the car until he got home from work. My dad called his mechanic who looked at it and told my dad to have me call Kia Motors because it was the bearings in the engine. I have seen that there has been recalls for that part but my vehicle has not been included in that recall. I could have lost my life or been very hurt due to the fact that my car stalled at wouldn’t reach the right speed. I thank God that I didn’t but now my car is not drive able and I’m not able to get to my appointments and things I need done.

Desired outcome: To get my engine replaced or to be reimburse for the money I have paid into my car because of this situation my car is a total lost of money I’ve paid the finance company and put in my car to keep up will the maintenance.

KIA Motors Over Speed Limit Warning tone

If you drive over the recognised speed limit a series of tones is heard, not just once but ongoing. This can be disabled but resets itself each time the car is turned off. Additionally, disabling it also removes other information that assists with driving safely.

It is particularly annoying when the vehicle gets the actual speed limit wrong.

Can just the warning tone be turned off permanently?

Desired outcome: Update to system software to allow the tone to be turned off

KIA Motors Recall timeline

On November 14 I was informed that my 2014 Cadenza has a problem that requires a recall. A short circuit could cause an engine fire. I was told to not park my car anywhere near another car or a building. I have been waiting a month and half without the use of my car, as driving it is discouraged as IT MAY BLOW UP. A month and a half? Are you kidding? I have been without my car for six weeks waiting for KIA to get their [censored] together and fix my car. "We're waiting for the part" is a lame excuse. FIX MY CAR SO I CAN DRIVE IT.

KIA Motors Infotainment system

I have a 2021 KIA K5 GT. The infotainment system has been dying over the last few months. It seems that the W-Fi connection is disconnecting at random and in some certain locations. The system screen will go blank and it will come back saying trying to connect and then fail. Can not connect with CarPlay, just to mention some of the different screens I will see. I have talked to Verizon and I am using an Apple Iphone 13 and they didn't find any trouble with the phone, they even did a factory reset without any change. I will be having the Infotainment system changed out at my local KIA dealer here in Yuma, AZ. I also head from the service department that KIA has a lot of these systems that have failed in the K5 GT, maybe it's time to look into this matter and maybe issue a recall for this system. We had a 2014 Sorento, that had a full system that included navigation, SiriusXM, Hands Free Phone and it worked GREAT, this system sucks.

Desired outcome: I want this problem to be taken care or replaced with a more reliable system. When you loose navigation or hands free phone call drops, this is not what consumers want.

KIA Motors Unable to make changes in "Curfew Alerts" in Car Zone - Old Ticket Closed, Never Resolved - Ticket Claim [protected]

This is my 4th attempt in getting KIA Connect feature looked into and resolved. Not sure what more I have to do to get a service representative to give me a call to a go through the problem. I attempt to make changes to the Curfew Settings and save those changes. The changes do not take effect and return to the defaults settings. Every time I reported the issue I receive a reply email that states the following - "Hello, sorry for taking so long to respond we have been in touch with back end team and they are advising that your issue has been resolved. Please try and let us know if it is not". I report back to the correspondence that the issue was not corrected with screenshots highlighting the problem. There is no return reply that the compliant has been looked into further or resolved and the ticket is closed. Please advise.

Claimed loss: Loss of use of feature. The Trial Period is about to expire. If this is something that cannot be solved, why would I invest into the subscription service that does not cover a feature that I want to implement?

Desired outcome: Correct/Resolve the issue.

KIA Motors Oil loss and engine failure

2016 Kia Sorento, has been burning oil for a very long time, this car has only been serviced at a KIA dealship for years, they never could find the leak. Now car is showing a code of P0303 engine failure. We own 2 KIA Sorento and our duaghter also ownes one. Both of the 2016 use a lot of oil with the dealship never being able to find any issues. Now I have one undriveable because of an engine failure code. I have searched the internet to find this is a common problem in the 2016 Kia sorento. I just dont understand with this being a common problem how a dealship or the company has no done nothing about this. I now have one with engine failure and one that is currently using oil. I need some advise since all my cars are KIA's.

KIA Motors Service/warranty fix/kia of frisco

12/1/2023 at Kia of Frisco in Texas [protected]

Set up an appointment for my Kia Stinger 2022. Light on the front passenger side that lights up the feet went out. Understandable I first order the part or at least that is what I thought. Even got two messages on text too about how the part came in. Last Text was this past Saturday 26NOV2023. So I set up an appointment for the following Saturday at 2:20 pm and it was confirmed. I show up and the service employee says he cannot find the part nor who ordered it. He runs around for 20-30 minutes and tells me he cannot find it. So I tell him lets order it again and give me some paperwork so I can have a paper trail. I am US army vet and was an SGT and know that when it comes to Equipment you need to have a paper trail. So I got the paperwork and now waiting on it. This is the third time I have come to Kia of Frisco in Texas and it has been a nightmare. I am a fan of Kia and I love my Kia stinger. I am of Korean descent and have pride in it. I am also a veteran and have experience managing soldiers. I yelped my experience, and I got a message to contact the service manager. I call him and of course goes straight to voicemail. Then when I get there and I ask to talk to the manager he is not there. There needs to be some accountability. I still need to get my remote start fix but dreading dealing with them again. I am going to try another Kia to see if the service department is better. I have done service in North Carolina for my Kia in the past and it was a far better experience. Please do something about this because this tarnishes the car brand. Ya'll need people who have some pride and responsibility!

KIA Motors Car full service

To whom it may concern

It is with great disappointment that I am writing this complain email instead of a compliment email. 

We purchased our Kia Ria on the 1st July 2022 and in this one year we have visited he kia office more than we should have regarding numerous different faults. WINDOWS -1st it was windows control access not functioning properly we sent it in for repairs and it will come back with them working but only for a week or so than same problem again, (I dont know whether they just out grease and once the grease runs dry the problem starts again, I am very not satisfied with all my car remote access. after the "fixing" the window tinting with have bubbles showing that it wasnt installed properly.

We informed them that there is a not so pleasant noise when applying breaks and was told its how it supposed to sound of which that doesnt make sense at all.

1st September we sent it back for some clutch malfunction, a new part (clutch master cylinder) was obtained and installed but still experiencing the same problem on the clutch it is like nothing was done still the same noise when stamping on the clutch.

This is very very much disappointing to be experiencing such problems with a BRAND-NEW car in which the reason  I opted to buy a brand new  was to avoid such things from happening but now and then I have to book in the car for window control access, the next it's the window tinting, next clutch fitting... and that is time, money consuming because we have to arrange for my kids morning car as we have to leave the house early so the car can be dropped in early for repairs, than uber transfer for collection of vehicle this very very much disappointing, I should be in honeymoon phase with this car but I'm in a fed-up phase.

Friday 01/12/2023 today I sent it in again for service and to my suprise the employees there just said oh its back again and skiped my car this goes to should I am not taken seriously

Instead, I was told they would evaluate the car for a possible trade-in 

Is that not additional charges to my finances?

CAN THIS BE SORTED OUT ASAP. NOT PLEASED AT ALL

KIA Motors my 2020 kia rio has been in ALM KIA South service department scence 09/28/23 and the issue with the car has not been resolved.

The vehicle (2020 kia rio vin # 3kpa24ad1le28954) was toed to alm kia south september 28 2023. The first diagnosis was to replace the throttle body which had just been replaced along with the fuel pump. When that did not work, they applied for warranty to repair timing. 11/4 the timing cvvt was replaced, and still code. 11/13 - 11/15 electric control unit,

Replaced ecm still code.

Claimed loss: over 2 months without vehicle

KIA Motors 2019 Kia Sorento JUNK

I have had my Kia sorento since August 2022. My husband was in a rear end wreck in September of 2022. The insurance company attemped to fix it instead of totalling it out. The person who hit us was going 60 MPH. The air bags never went off. This car has never been the same since. I have had it at the body shop for over 6 months to get fixed and I have had it at dealerships for over 10 weeks. The dealships are telling me that the blind spot sensors are not fixable and the insruance company just tells me they are reordering the parts. Now fast foward to 11/2023. I have electrial issues. Im going to have to have it towed to a shop to have it fixed and I have been quoted over $2400.00 for just the part. This is the worst car I have had and can not seem to get any help on how to fix it. I have a child that rides in it daily plus my self and I have a job that I have to get to. I can not just walk to work every day but yet here I am walking to work over an hour away becuase of this vechile. I can not put groceries in the trunk as the back hatch does not work. Im missing parts it has been froze shut bascally. I called over on 11/22/2023 to get the part and I was told a price of $94.00 I told them I would be over on 11/24/23 to pick it up. When I got there the lady had her back to us flipping through every screen as fast as possible and said oh no its $1700.00 for that part that she had to call her mechanic that they gave us wrong information. I then called back later that day and was told oh no that not even correct either its over $2400.00 for this part. I simply just wanted the part and being told 3 different prices to what Im assuming they do not even know what I need. I have always loved going and getting a Kia car but this one has done me in. I am stranded and no one seems to care. I have been told by insurance that you all should just total it out which is not your decision but I also need a car to drive.

Desired outcome: I would like some options on 1. how to fix back to how I bought it or 2. make it right so I can get something to drive. Im making payments on a car that I can not drive that has been sitting since September of 2022.

KIA Motors Complain against local dealer - bulgaria

Hello team,

I'm writing to you because I'm having a major problem with your local dealer in Bulgaria. I've sent an email to spare parts requesting an offer for the original rim for my Sportage model 2013 AWD petrol fuel, as well as the size of my existing tire and rims for that tire. However, the salesman was impolite and unprofessional, often repeating the same message without even attempting to grasp my request after going back and forth. Finally, he gave me a really harsh response, saying, "I'm sorry Mr. Elsheikh, but I can't offer you any original rims for Sportage model 2013" as I asked for the rims for free.

This type of behavior, I believe, is not acceptable under the mother's company policy, and it is not how they should treat customers.

In general, after this type of bad behavior, I will not buy it from a local dealer in Bulgaria; instead, I will import it from Germany and find a means to fix my car outside of a local dealer in Bulgaria because there is no assurance that I will receive better service in the local dealer shop.

If no serious action is taken against this type of behavior, I will have no choice but to never buy or use a Kia again after this car, and will make sure to warn all my connections about the local dealer via social media.

I'm attaching screenshots of all of my communications with the salesman.

KIA Motors bad costumer services

I'm deeply dissatisfied with my 2022 Kia Forte GT (12,000 miles) facing a second drained battery. Despite seeking help, the dealership turned me away, offering no immediate solutions. Kia's service quality has drastically declined, and the absence of Spanish assistance compounds the issue. I requested alternative transportation, denied despite a perfectly usable car. This challenges Kia's reliability. I question the effectiveness of the warranty and contemplate invoking Florida's Lemon Law. Urgently address these concerns and restore the service quality associated with the Kia brand.

KIA Motors Price gouging for knock sensor repair of 2017 kia optima

Daughter needed knock sensor replaced and dealership charged her $1700. From doing some research, typical costs (parts and labor) should have been $250-300. Daughter is a single Mom and Dealership took advantage of her knowing she had to have her vehicle repaired asap. I would like to contact the Better Business Bureau but thought I should contact Kia first to see if Kia can provide at least partial reimbursement for this exorbitant cost.

KIA Motors warranty null and void

I purchased a new 2020 Kia Rio January 30th 2021in Manta, Ecuador from the local Kia dealer. On August 14 2023 I returned to the dealership to schedule an appointment to have them look at problems I was having with the transmission. The technician asked where my car had been serviced and I stated only oil changes had been performed and at a local mechanic. He immediately stated my warranty was no good because oil wasn't changed at dealership and quoted prices for said diagnostics to be performed. I was under the impression this was a factory warranty. Me nor anyone in my family will be exposed to such bait and switch tactics by Kia ever again.

Desired outcome: In January 2024 I will buy a new SUV. I like the Sorrento but not without warranty as the dealership is no where close to where I live. I don't have a desired outcome. I have a Hyundai dealer close by.

KIA Motors 2016 kia sorento engine

in March 2023, engine light came on giving us codes. In April 2023, we took the car to Hendrick Kia in North Carolina and discovered that the following: HEAVY ENGINE

REPLACE INTAKE CAM, ALL 4 CVVT'S, TWO TIMING CHAINS, TWO TIMING TENSIONERS 4,507.96

AND INSPECT FOR ANY ADDITIONAL DAMAGE ON REMOVAL

All items replaced and vehicle seemed to be better. On 9/29/23, went to pick up rental for out of state trip and my car started knocking badly, went from nothing to real bad on the 15 minute trip from rental place to our home. had towed to dealership on 10/18 after returning from trip (felt unsafe to drive it) we got the results back from Kia dealership and they stated rocker arm bent and engine now needed to be replaced and issue was caused due to running vehicle on low oil for long periods of time (which never happened; had oil changed about every six months). also note, that this happened so quickly that no code ever appeared on car beforehand and we also have it in writing that dealership did not see a code as well when they did the inspection. was referred to call Kia customer care to open a case and see if they would do a good faith engine replaced and was just advised today that they have declined but won't give me any reason beyond it was declined to be done. note: our car doesn't even have 80k miles on it

Desired outcome: our money or for them to buy back the vehicle so that we can go purchase something else
