Hello, we purchased all new appliances for our new home being built at Home Depot in Nov of 2023. They were delivered to the new home until 3/24 and were not used until we moved in upon completion of 7/24. Our new Maytag washer broke down in 10/24 and 1 Yr factory (Whirlpool) warranty co. had sent out a repair man to fix, after the original time broke till fixed, about 3 weeks. The washer then broke down a second time in 11- 2024 and I contacted whirlpool again and the same repair man eventually called and had me diagnose the machine in which involved tipping the washer pulled out from the wall and tipping it over on its side and removing the belt guard in which I put the machine back and it did run again. He ordered a new guard, and it got delivered but he never came to install it. Now again, the washers broke 3/25 going on 2 weeks. Numerous calls and emails made by me and a COS employee of Home Depot to Allstate extended warranty personnel. They had claimed at many conversations I would be getting a refund to replace, yet that never prevailed and now they are telling me now to contact a repair man and pay him and then submit the receipt to get a reimbursement. Now I am being told to do their job. Since when does the consumer have to contact a repair service and pay out of pocket and then have to try the get your money back. What kind of warranty co. is this? This does not seem legal. And I got this 5 Yr extended warranty on all my new appliances? What can I do to get this company to cover my appliances like I paid for? An A attorney?
Claimed loss: New wash machine replacement
Desired outcome: New wash machine and laundry mat expenses

Yes, I had a similar situation. Needless to say I will not be making any future purchases at Home Depot. I purchased a similar item on Amazon a few years ago with an extended warranty and it only took a couple mouse clicks to get a full refund. They also have a Lowes in my area so that will be my second option from hereon out.
We had the EXACT SAME SCENARIO IN L.A.
This was for a fridge that froze our food! The bottom freezer leaked and ruined our floor. About THIRTY EMAILS later, back and forth back and forth back and forth. They treated it like an Insurance policy which in the fine print it says THIS IS NOT AN INSURANCE POLICY. They agreed to refund our money after we told them the unit was a lemon. It is! We went back and forth with GE , too. Overall we were very very upset at being treated terribly. This type of nonsense is not service and is treating customers like trash.

Also, as of today we still have not gotten our money back.
