On August 23, 2025 I attempted to purchase a basket full of plants and shrubs from the garden department of Lowes’ store on Military Highway in Norfolk Virginia where I experienced horrible, insolent customer service. At the conclusion of my attempted transaction, Betty the cashier asked if I was military (military discount). I asked for the senior citizen discount and Betty starting laughing and smirking. I asked to speak to a member of management and was informed by Sharon, another cashier, that she was management and she started laughing. I asked to see the detail on the register in order to confirm that all items were accurately scanned. Betty informed that she could not do that. I left my basket which totaled in excess of $300.00 value of plants and shrubs (zero shelf life) right there and walked out. If laughing at customers is part of Lowes business model then I will shop at Home Depot and True Value!

Recommendation: Shop Home Depot or True Value!
